Epilogue

Prince Zuko lay in his bed, confused. Who would want to kill him? Sure, he wasn't the most kind of people, but was it worth the wrath of the Fire Nation? And why was Katara so attached to him? He was just a spoilt, rich Prince with no real ambition besides wishing to be normal and anonymous. He begged Agni for the monotonous life of a poor man.

Lost in his thoughts, he barely realised that Azula had wandered into his room, taking a few moments of staring up at her to bolt upright and start arguing. Almost instantly she held up her hands in submission. Zuko frowned, that wasn't like Azula.

'Brother, I have come to ask you something.'

He nodded once.

'Are you involved with that water tribe peasant who cleans your floors?'

Zuko's indifference suddenly disappeared and his eyes flashed. 'She is Fire Nation. Who told you she was water tribe?'

Azula waved it away. 'Oh please, you can see it in the colour of her eyes. She's not a subtle bender either. All this water bending going on in my palace? I am rather puzzled about what to do ZuZu.'

'It's not your palace. And don't call me that.' He paused. 'She's not a water bender.'

'Oh stop denying it, this is becoming tiresome. Just give me what I want and I'll be gone in mere moments.'

His frown disappeared, of course she wanted something. Of course. 'What.'

'My throne, ZuZu.'

Zuko took a step back.

'If you die I will leave your peasant alone. If you don't, I shall kill her myself. Such a pretty girl, scarred skin would rather ruin that. You'd understand that wouldn't you ZuZu?'

He growled. 'Leave. Her. Alone.' He ground out, making an effort not to attack his sister.

'Oh certainly brother, as long as you're dead by tomorrow.'

He shook his head; Katara had told him the kingdom needed him. He could make a difference, she was right; all he had to do was obliterate the Gunners Fold. Save her.

'Not keen to die are we?'

His eyes narrowed but Azula was too fast for him and planted her fingers on his wrist, sending small bursts of concentrated lightning into his blood stream before he could move. His blood fizzed and his heart stopped with every bolt that entered him. A slight mark on his limp wrist, a small burn, nothing more; but he was still left a dead weight in Azula's arms.

She dragged him to the bed and laid him out, making his death something she could further use to drive Katara insane. Oh she was excited.

She stole one last glance at the travesty she had left behind; her brother never was suited to the throne, was he? She shrugged.

So to make up for taking months on my last 'chapter' – it's really too short to be called a chapter, I'm writing this on the same day and hopefully publishing it the same day too even though I have some English coursework to be doing instead XD Hopefully you can forgive me for my massive break from writing but here it is and I hope it made sense. Thank you all for reading and reviewing.
