Purely a fictional story of a fictional story. Featuring Levi x Eren/Rivaille x Eren either way! Ohmygod I finally have time to sit down and write! You have no idea how long I was waiting for this moment where I have no schoolwork. Meanwhile, I just read the review from Lilith so I decided to fill in more stuff from Connie and Stolz's PoV here. Sorry for the millionth time that Stolz came out of nowhere and made some of you confused with this story because I half screwed up :cc
"Why aren't they coming back yet? It's nearly midnight, dammit!" Connie paced around the room, clearly not going to settle down any moment soon.
"Calm ye balls, boy," Stolz took a sip of tea calmly. "They're probably talking 'bout their future right this very moment." His tone was light, but there was a hint of… something else behind it.
"Why do you keep saying that? What future?" the dense boy frowned thoughtfully, not understanding what his ancestor was rambling on about. The older man simply grinned sloppily, burping loudly before replying. Connie pinched his nose and pretended to wave away a stench that wasn't there.
"Your lovely short little captain –" Connie shivered and looked around, as though Levi might appear suddenly with his death glare – "or should I say, your little titan friend, who I believe is jumping like a wild monkey now… are thinking of being the first humans in a 100 years to stay outside the walls."
Connie froze so abruptly he almost hit his toe against the table infront of him. "What?" it was beyond believable.
Stolz raised his eyebrows, evidently amused at how dense his descendent was. "Don't you agree that it's a smart move?" Connie only blinked in question. "You know, that," Stolz hinted, slightly rolling his eyes. When Connie didn't reply, he facepalmed. Hard.
"What other thing would be capable of healing da lad's heart than being loved by the one he loves?"
Connie's eyes finally widened slightly in realization. "…Oh… Oh. Oh!" it came out as a hoarse whisper at first, then grew louder into a shout. "So, by seeing the outside world, Eren would be able to cover up the gap in his heart which clings on to the titan in him even without… uh, that, right?" Connie couldn't bring himself to say sex, but that didn't return any weight he lifted off his chest at all. If Eren no longer has his titan-shifting ability, there would be no need for any negotiation whether they should kill him! He grinned to himself idiotically; as if he cared. Now, he had good news to deliver to Mikasa and Armin.
"…"
Eren and Levi are facing each other for the 2nd minute in utter, awkwardly dead silence. Levi purposely had his back turned to Eren, so he couldn't tell anything as he could not see the boy's face. Even now, his heart was thumping hard in his chest despite his mind's protests. The moment the carriage set foot outside the walls, Levi had already steeled himself into going along with this decision, Eren or not. But now that he actually asked it, he felt strangely afraid of the answer.
Correction: he was afraid of a rejection. He wasn't sure he could handle it. Not another time. Not again.
The air was so heavy that when leaves on a tree rustled, Levi was already armed before he his brain recognized his actions consciously. Even as he stared fiercely within the unknown darkness of the outside world (which was really in fact just a normal tree), a large, black crow flew above and then overhead them, cawing loudly as if it was saying 'how rude'.
Levi's muscles relaxed all too suddenly, and he felt weak in the knees from being stiff for so long. He didn't remember feeling like this when slicing titans into pieces. Apparently, he recalled Petra once telling him, love does make one stupid. Without realizing, he had his head held up, seeing his small, tiny self reflected into the emerald eyes of Eren with his perfect eyesight. The only thing he hasn't thought he'd see was the sparkle in it.
"Can I? Really? Me? With you?" Levi almost wanted to roll his eyes, seeing the resemblance to Hanji. Obviously, putting brats with her corrupted their verbal nerves.
But then again, he was feeling too jubilant to care at the moment. And then he did something completely out of character but has been doing since he was going out with Eren (or was he?): glomp him.
"Yes, you," he said hoarsely, squeezing Eren ever so tightly, finding comfort in his racing heart. "And only you."
Eren was motionless for a moment, then squeezed Levi back just at tightly, perhaps even tighter, nuzzling his nose against Levi's good smelling hair which was now messy like he had bed hair. "…I'm so happy. I'll gladly follow you anywhere, Levi heichou."
"Levi," Levi corrected in his Superior voice.
"…Levi," Eren repeated after him. Levi seemed satisfied with that and buried his face deeper into the warmth of Eren's chest. Automatically, their faces drew closer in for a kiss they never managed to have.
A sudden loud roar from the shadows just inches away from them. This time, there was definitely something wrong. The two jumped in opposite directions out of pure reflex, away from each other, Levi with swords in his hands, and Eren preparing to bite through his skin if he saw the need. Actually, he didn't think. He just did it. Eren sank his teeth into his flesh, blood oozing down his arm. Nothing happened.
Why!? Eren cursed in his mind, biting firmer while trying to ignore the searing pain flowing through his body.
At the moment when a wild bear, roughly 8 feet tall, jumped out from its hiding place, Levi's eyes widened slight upon realizing the reason why Eren couldn't transform, making a quick spin and slicing the bear's throat without hesitation. It fell to the ground and lay there, still as a rock. When enough time passed to confirm its death, they both relaxed. Levi did more than Eren, either way.
"Why –" Eren begun in a panicked tone.
"You'll no longer be able to turn into a titan, Eren." Levi replied, almost smiling.
"What?" Eren answered dumbly.
"You won't have to be judged in this case. It's much more convenient like this. Let's get back and start packing whatever we brought here. We've got a report to make."
There was no time for him to react; Levi was already leaving Eren behind.
"Wait up, Levi!"
Wheee so I finally managed to upload. I have 0% idea of the content quality of this chapter though orzz There is a 99% chance that the next chapter will be the Epilogue. Warning though; there will be a bit of timeskip. Afterwards, I may still add some extra chapters of the boys C:
Hope this very short update loosens a bit of tension after, what, 3 months?
