A/N: Since I'm on break, I've been able to write more. I'm hoping to finish this story before I go back, but at the very latest, maybe the end of January. I'm really looking forward to new stories, new fandoms, and working the kinks out of stories that I have placed on hiatus for a long time. I did decide to wait on posting a new story until I get a few chapters in though, that way I have a better feel for what is going on.
Anyway, this is New Years present for all you lovelies. I went with Option 2 and decided to finish the story as fleshed out as it has always been. This would be what others consider a filler, but it is very much a part of the story, because the story is about Bella and Leah, their relationship with each other, friends, family. So, have fun reading this, I definitely had fun writing it.

Chapter 20
"Okay, since you guys made me get up at zero dark thirty, drug me out of my nice comfy bed, and hit me with my own crutches before stuffing me in this car," Bella huffed, alternating her glare from Jessica in the backseat to Alice and Angela in the front seat. "You guys are buying me food, like breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, supper…"
"Alright, geez, what are you a hobbit?" Jessica brushed the girl off. "And what about all that crap you gave me about being a nerd?"
"Didn't say I wasn't, just didn't know you were in the closet about being one," Bella retorted, leaning back in her seat. Alice had borrowed Rosalie's BMW for the day, due to the fact that neither Bella or Angela's vehicles could get to Seattle in one piece and Jessica's mom was using her car while hers was in the shop. The pixie vampire still pushed the speed limit, but she kept it within a reasonable parameter.
They reached Seattle within a few hours, stopping along the way to get some breakfast for the road. Alice feigned going through a cleanse, which meant a strict diet. Jessica and Angela nodded their heads understandingly, while Bella smirked before biting into her bacon egg and cheese biscuit with gusto.
Jessica, Angela and Alice had consulted the various malls and the store listing in each mall before deciding on which ones to go to in order to find the best deals for prom dresses. Nearly two hours into the shopping trip Bella had found her prom dress and made Alice get her a soft pretzel to keep her entertained while they continued to look. Three stores later, they adjourned to the food court so that Bella, Angela and Jessica could eat. All of them had found their prom dresses, but, unfortunately for Bella, they still needed to get shoes and other accessories.
"Can we just, I don't know, go barefoot?" Bella whined as she stabbed her fork through layers of lettuce and tomato on her salad.
"Bells, the shoes complete the outfit," Jessica replied, scandalized that her friend would even think of such a thing. "The shoes, the jewelry, whatever accessories we choose, they all complete the look. I mean, you picked a strapless dress so a nice shawl or something would look good with it. The little things are what we have to focus on now."
"I like how you're so enthusiastic about this Jessica," Alice said, trying not to crinkle her nose up at the smell of the food around her. "I mean, neither you nor Angela have a date to prom so…"
"It's-" Jessica paused unsure of how she wanted to finish her thought. "You think we're doing this because we want to impress dates?" When Alice hesitantly nodded her head, the other girl carried on, "It's not about buying this stuff to look good for other people, it's about getting things to look good for ourselves. We already look good, we know this, but every now and then, it's fun to make ourselves look even better, for us, not for anyone else. If your primary goal for dressing up is to impress another person, you need to re-evaluate your priorities. Save that stuff for job interviews, not personal lives."
Alice looked at Jessica dumbfounded while Bella and Angela just continued eating, used to different outbursts from their friend. She was very passionate about certain topics, particularly since she was pulled out from Lauren's shadow. "You own a lot of nice clothes Alice, a lot of designers tags. Do you wear them for yourself, or do you wear them for Jasper?" Jess continued, her eyes boring into Alice's.
"I'm not exactly sure how to answer that," Alice replied truthfully. Shopping was always something she did, something she enjoyed, but she did buy more things than she actually needed.
"Just some things to think about," Jessica said before standing up. "In the mean time, there's a frosty calling my name."
"Get me one bitch, I'm eating a salad!" Bella called to her friend as she walked away, her mouth full of cheese and lettuce.
"Yeah, yeah, sure," the girl replied as she walked off.
"Do you ever stop eating?" Angela asked. "I swear, you've inhaled at least a thousand calories so far today, probably more with that pretzel."
"I had a salad for lunch," the brunette protested, shaking her bowl with the lettuce in it.
"Loaded down with dressing and fried chicken, I don't think that really counts at that point."
"Parade, raining on it, stop," Bella said, popping a piece of chicken in her mouth. Alice observed the conversation between the other girls, marveling at the ease with which they spoke to each other, teased each other. She didn't remember her human life, but knew that in her vampire life, she never had relationships with friends like Bella, Angela and Jessica had with each other. It made her envious for that kind of closeness, that sort of camaraderie with someone else, someone other than her mate. She and Rosalie had a good relationship, but nothing like these three friends had, but it made her wonder, could they have they type of relationship, if they both tried.
"Here, here, whiny bitch," Jessica muttered, setting a frosty down in front of Bella's face on the table before digging into her own dessert.
"Why am I a whiny bitch all of a sudden?" Bella groused.
"You've done nothing but whine and eat since we got here."
"Not true, I also tried on dresses as best as I could," Bella protested. "And besides, you try to hobble your way around this place on crutches, see how happy you are at the end of the day."
"Do they ever not argue?" Alice whispered to Angela, who was ignoring her other two friends.
"When they're sleeping," the girl replied. "They don't always argue, but it's pretty healthy for them when they do, entertaining for the rest of us."
"Shut-up Angela," Jessica and Bella said at the same time before looking at each other. They burst out laughing, realizing that they were being completely ridiculous arguing about nothing.
"All right ladies," Alice said, standing up when the other three had finally finished playing with their food. "We still have shoes and accessories to be decided on so let's get a move on." The vampire ushered the other three into one of her favorite shoe stores. It took less than an hour for all of them to find the appropriate footwear before Jessica and Alice forcibly pulled Bella back into one of the department stores.
It was close to seven by the time Alice dropped the three girls off at Bella's house for a sleepover before heading home herself. The pixie vampire was invited to stay with them, but knew it would be difficult to hide not eating or sleeping from both Angela and Jessica. She was impatient to get home to speak with her sister to try to improve their relationship. She wanted what Angela, Jessica and Bella had, but knew that in order to have that, she would have to work on herself. Alice wanted friends, close friends but had always used her gift to determine if someone would make a good friend, writing them off if she didn't see anything good. She did that with the Denalis, and with Jasper's friends Peter and Charlotte. Carlisle has told them that as vampires they couldn't change, remaining frozen as they were when they were turned, but she felt something stirring in her, as if her outlook was changing, her personality was changing. She needed to talk to Jasper.
"Did Alice seem a little off to you?" Angela asked once the other girl had driven off.
"Maybe we wore her out, shopping while on a cleanse is not fun. Can't eat anything, just drink this nasty green stuff depending on what type of cleanse you're on," Jessica shook her head in disgust. "Never doing that again, if I want to 'cleanse,' I'll just hydrate, a lot."
"I think Alice just had a lot on her mind Angie," Bella replied after giving Jessica a confused stare. "I mean, we did kind of overwhelm her today with all of our… us-ness." She pulled out her phone and called the local pizza place, putting in their regular order of grub for when they have sleepovers.
"So we can't go out playing pranks tonight since you've got a bum leg?" Jessica asked once the pizza arrived. The three girls were spread out on Bella's bed, as usual, digging into their pizzas and admiring their new shoes. They had put them on shortly after getting back in order to properly break them in for prom, but hadn't felt like taking them off yet. Bella had removed her boot and wrapped her leg in a bandage in order to properly break in both shoes so her leg was propped up on a pillow as she gazed at her strappy high-heeled sandals.
"No," Bella grunted out around the pizza in her mouth. "My mom has put me on probation in terms of that stuff. Can't do anything fun until I get out of my boot."
"Well, you're not in it now," Jessica said, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Why do I get the feeling that you have someone in mind to be on the receiving end of these pranks?" Angela asked, taking her eyes from her new sparkly pink shoes.
"It's, ugh, it's Lauren, when I wasn't watching Star Wars over spring break, she was harassing me, wanting to hang out and stuff. For the sake of our old friendship, I agreed to hangout."
"Really? After the crap she gave you the last time you guys spoke? And the crap you gave right back?" Bella muttered, looking at Jessica like she had grown a second head.
"I know, I know, not one of my better decisions, but I went," the other girl sighed. "It started off fine, as usual. She apologized for her behavior, and asked to be friends again, even asked me about you guys and how we all were doing."
"I feel like there's going to be a plot twist any minute," Angela muttered, nibbling on a crust of pizza.
"Eh, well, the only major plot twist is that she wants me to spend more time with her, like all the time." Jessica shrugged, "I feel kinda bad for her really, other than me, she really didn't have any other friends. Mike and Tyler don't count since, as we all know they're-"
"Fuck buddies," Angela and Bella finished, nodding in understanding.
"Right, right. She has other members of the cheerleading squad, like Jennifer and Katie, but they're about as deep as a cookie sheet. She basically has no one, and I kinda feel bad for her. Apparently she's also been having a hard time in classes and things since I no longer pair up with her in class." Jessica gestured about with her piece of pizza for a moment, flailing her hands in the air. "I used to think Lauren was an airhead, don't get me wrong, I still do, but I realize now that she's just a pitiful person, not a bad person."
"So, basically she's an idiot and needs new friends in order to leave you alone because she sought you out since she doesn't have anyone else?" Bella asked for clarification.
The other girl tilted her head for a moment before nodding, "In summation, yeah, that's about it. Not much can help that idiot thing though, her GPA is terrible, and, as you all know, I'm the best student in our class."
"Only because I don't feel like applying myself," Bella groused, poking Jessica with her foot.
"Ladies, don't start fighting again now, let's focus on the issue, Lauren, idiot, no friends other than her boy toys," Angela stated, swatting at the other two. "What can we do?"
"Well, it seems like the problem is that Lauren isn't exactly popular, probably having something to do with sleeping her way through other girls' boyfriends," Bella mused. "So if we find a way to pair her with someone, just one person, so one of the boy toys will have to go, and increase her popularity, problem solved."
"Right, and how will we do that?" Angela asked.
"Hmm, I'm thinking prom," Bella murmured. "Yes, prom will do nicely. Now the only question, Tyler or Mike, any ideas?"
"At this point, just flip a coin," Jessica suggested, pulling a quarter out of her pocket. "Heads Mike, Tails Tyler." She flipped the quarter up into the air and the three of them watched it land on the floor, smirking at what landed.
"Well that's settled, what do we do?" Angela questioned, looking at Bella.
"I have a few ideas…"
Leah tugged awkwardly on her jacket, pulling on the ¾ sleeves slightly before tugging at the skirt. Renee had shown up at her apartment one day when all of her classes were cancelled and she had the day off from work just to drag her to Seattle to find the perfect outfit for prom. She didn't have any proof, but she had suspicions that her girlfriend's mother had 'arranged' for her classes to be cancelled.
The older woman dragged her all over the mall, hitting several stores looking for the best outfit. Leah wasn't all that thrilled with the prom dresses she saw, and she didn't want to wear a suit. Something about being a walking stereotype bothered her. In the final store they visited, after the fourth hour of searching, Leah finally found exactly what she could see herself wearing. It looked like a normal, form fitting suit on the top, accentuating her breasts and the muscles in her arms. The suit coat around her waist continued down, flaring out slightly almost like a trench coat, brushing the back of her calves. A tight skirt with a slit up the right side completed the look.
It was completely black which reassured Leah that she wouldn't class with whatever color Bella selected and that she could possibly wear it again on another formal occasion. Leah finished tugging at her clothes when Charlie came and opened the front door. "Woah, Leah, you look beautiful. I see Renee got a hold of you, and your hair," he said, assessing her with a critical gaze.
Leah laughed nervously as she ran her fingers through her shoulder length tresses. After they had returned from their mall excursion, Renee insisted on taking her to the hair salon to update her style. The older woman met Daisy and the two immediately bonded, turning their attention to Leah's hair. Daisy streaked her hair with highlights, rolling it up in foil to color properly before giving it a wash and trim. She cut about half an inch off in length at the bottom, trimming off more as she added in layers. The result was a wispy style that floated around her head, the caramel colored highlights matching wonderfully with the dark brown of her natural hair color.
"Looks like Renee got to you as well," Leah commented once Charlie had moved out of the doorway. "What happened to the mustache?"
"Oh, well, eh, I thought it was time for a change," he blustered, rubbing his now clean-shaven face.
"Mhm," the girl hummed, not convinced at the nonchalant act that Charlie was playing. "Is Bella ready to go?"
"She, Jessica, Angela and Renee have been commandeered the bathroom and Bella's room for the past few hours. Jessica's mom had to work late and Angela's mom is tied up with the boys so Renee volunteered to help them get ready over here."
"That's nice of her," Leah muttered, not really paying attention.
Charlie smiled at the anxiousness on the young woman's face, knowing that she was anxious to see his daughter. "She'll be down in a few minutes Leah, you can stop wearing a hole in my floor."
"Right, right, didn't even realize I was pacing," Leah laughed nervously again, still pulling at her clothes. The chief touched her arm, gaining her attention before pointing to the stairs. Her breath caught in her throat when she saw her girlfriend descending the stairs, a bright smile on her face. Bella's dress was a strapless, blood red gown that fell to her ankles. Strappy, red gladiator style heels wound up her legs, giving Leah a new appreciation for feet and the pair of legs her girlfriend had. The slit up the side of the dress nearly to the top of Bella's thigh also tantalized Leah's imagination, fantasizing about slipping her hands into that slit and groping that slightly tanned thigh.
Leah slipped out of her fantasy when she felt a finger under her mouth, pushing it up. "Have I managed to render the great Leah Clearwater speechless?" Bella teased, mirth and love present in her eyes.
"That dress looks amazing Bells," Leah breathed, placing her hands on her girlfriend's rib cage to get a better feel of the fabric.
Bella blushed slightly and looked down at what Leah was wearing. "Thanks, you look really good too. It is a really interesting combination of a dress and a tux without looking ridiculous. You found it when you were out with my mother?"
"Yeah, she's a little pushy, a little like you really," Leah winked, rubbing her hands up and down Bella's sides.
Charlie coughed, "Do try to keep you hands in respectable areas Leah, that is my daughter you're feeling up."
"Oh lay off Charlie," Renee said, coming down the stairs with Angela and Jessica, the former in a pink princess style gown and the latter in a deep blue. "Bella is a few months shy of 18, Leah is like your own daughter, and they're in love. Step off the over protective father routine."
"Fine, fine," he muttered. He pointed a finger at both of them, shaking it slightly, "You two be safe."
"All four of you be safe, oh and before you go I need to take pictures," Renee said, taking out her phone. She snapped pictures of Angela, Jessica, and Bella and Leah, and then one of all of them together. "All right, now you all can head out, shoo, shoo."
The four girls walked out of the house, giggling and stuffed themselves into Jessica's car since it was the biggest. Charlie and Renee watched as they pulled out of the driveway, heading to the school. "Well," Renee started, turning to look at her husband. "I better head back to my condo, I still have some of my things to sort and put away."
"Or," Charlie started, realizing it was now or never. "Or we could go out for dinner or something…"
Renee gave him an appraising look, "Are you asking me out on a date?"
"Yes, yes I am," he answered honestly. "Look Renee, we both lied, we both were hurt, but I'm not going to lie to you now, I still love you. I think we can make this work if we both want it, if we both try. Do you still have feelings for me?"
The blonde woman gave a shuddering breath, "I have many feelings for you, anger, irritation, amusement; underneath all of them though, I do still love you. I just, can we take this slowly?"
"Dinner is a good start then," he said, grabbing his keys.
"I promised to drop Leah's car off at the gym for them if they wanted to leave before Jessica and Angela did," the woman said, waving the other girl's car keys. "Follow me to the high school and we'll take it from there."
"I'll be right behind you then."
"I still think it's kind of lame that we couldn't get a different location," Jessica grumbled, climbing out of the car when they got to the high school.
"If you're on the prom committee again next year, you can push for a different location. You'll be a senior then so you'll have more sway," Bella commented.
"Damn straight, we'll be seniors, we'll at least deserve a community center or something," Jessica snorted. "All right ladies, heads up, shoulders back, hips to the full sway power, and strut, in we go, to make a magnificent entrance." As she was saying this, Jessica was moving her body to copy her words before strutting through the gym doors. Bella and Leah copied her movements, following behind the girl, holding in their laughter.
Angela watched the three of them in disbelief before shaking her head and following them, "My friends are idiots."
When they walked into the gym, Bella gave a low whistle, "Wow Jess, this place looks great, you guys did a good job." The gym was decked out with hanging lights resembling icicles and crystals, massive wire trees covered in white cheesecloth, glowing with internal lights, and a glittering white gazebo for official prom pictures.
"Thanks Bella, the theme was pretty easy to work with, winter wonderland, everything had to be white or even a bluish tint," Jessica sighed. "We decided to keep it simple, yet elegant and enlisted the art club to help us out with the decorations, allowing them free range to make things as long as they fit in the theme."
"The art club made the decorations?" Bella questioned. "Must've been while I was still in that stupid cast and couldn't go to the meetings."
"Yeah, they didn't want to bother you and figured they could get done with the decorations faster if they didn't have to worry about hurting your leg," Jessica explained. "And just be glad you didn't help, with how you feel about glitter and all that."
The brunette shivered, "Awful stuff, gets every where, the herpes of the art world. If you do art and work with glitter, you would understand."
"How about we stop talking about the decorations and start enjoying them yes?" Angela stated, moving towards the gazebo to get her picture taken.
Bella, Leah and Jessica followed her and had their pictures taken before disappearing into a whirlwind of different activities, dancing, talking to friends, and nibbling on the hors d'oeuvres at the tables. "These are from a catering company in Port Angeles," Angela told Bella and Leah as they were sampling the delicious food. "My mom does some work for them so I recognize their signature hors d'oeuvres."
They drifted apart again, Leah and Bella wanting some time to themselves in the mass of students around them. They were sitting at a table in the corner close to the wall when Rosalie and Emmett approach them. Leah's nose scrunched automatically at the smell of the vampires but she fought it down, breathing out of her mouth instead.
"Thanks for not mentioning the smell," Rosalie said when she sat down in front of the two, Emmett sitting down next to her. "I know we don't smell all that great to you."
"It's okay, I know I don't smell all that great to you," Leah replied. "You guys smell like sugary bleach is all. I got used to that smell working a cotton candy cart one summer in Port Angeles. Had to clean the stupid thing with bleach every night to make sure nothing grew in there to interfer with the cotton candy, gross."
Emmett nose's scrunched and a disgusted look crossed his face, "Yuck, that does sound gross. You smell like wet dog, which is..."
"Pretty disgusting, no need to finish, part time job in a dog wash," Leah said, waving the large man off.
"Is there a part time job you haven't had?" Bella asked, looking at her girlfriend.
"I seemed to always be working after school and during the summer, helped get me the money to pay for college and get away from the reservation," the other girl replied, leaning closer to her girlfriend, burying her nose in the girl's hair. "Also helped with work ethic to impress this girl I like."
"Mhm, oh really, I thought you had a boyfriend at the time you were working all of these different jobs?"
"Just biding time until I found the one perfect for me," Leah murmured, placing a kiss behind Bella's ear.
"Are we that disgustingly cute?" Emmett asked, looking at his mate with humor in his eyes.
"Judging from the disgusted looks Edward sends us on a regular basis, probably," Rosalie answered, happy to witness her new friend and her girlfriend's relationship in person.
Bella and Leah emerged out of the bubble they created between them and looked back at the two sitting at the table with them. "You both look great, I didn't think you were going to come, even though it is technically your senior prom," Bella said.
"We do get tired of being voted prom king and queen," the blonde sighed. "Last year we were voted junior prince and princess without even being here, but I wanted to hang out, since we haven't been able to recently. Plus Alice said your dress was fantastic, which it is."
"Thanks, it was a fun trip, even though I complained the whole time. I got a lot to eat, which was good. Alice bought me at least 3 soft pretzels to keep me from complaining," Bella winked.
"Probably just used them to shut you up babe," Leah chuckled, sipping at her water.
"Mhm, if you want to keep that hand that is currently taking up residence on my thigh, then I would be nice to me," Bella smirked, placing one hand on the older girl's hand as she squeezed her leg. "Oh, and I wouldn't worry about being prom king and queen this year Rose, you and Emmett weren't on the ballot so you're not even in the running, neither are Alice and Jasper."
"How did that happen, we always end up on those stupid ballots?" Emmett asked, looking both pleased but also put out.
"I didn't think that it was fair for everyone since you guys are well, you know," Bella answered, gesturing at the both of them. "So I managed to convince Devin, who's in charge of the ballots this year, that you guys were tired of all of the attention." She pointed to a tall guy across the room with spiked up dark brown hair. He was standing next to another boy with chin length sandy blonde hair, both wearing matching suits. "It didn't hurt that Devin has a huge crush on Troy, who was in my art class. I agreed to talk to him for Devin, sound him out, and Devin agreed to leave all of you off the ballot, and myself of course, I don't really need prom princess title in my life."
"Obviously the talk went well since they came to prom together," Leah commented, watching the two boys laughing together as they moved to the dance floor.
"Oh yeah, Troy liked Devin too, but didn't think he liked him since Troy is a skateboarder, punk artist and Devin is on the swim team," Bella shrugged. "I hate labels, super annoying."
Rosalie smirked as she caught sight of Edward glowering in the far corner, while Emmett, Leah and Bella continued to talk about the wide variety of couples scattered around the room. She could tell that her adoptive 'brother' was put out that he didn't have a date to prom, and that the one he was convinced was his 'mate' had come with someone else, a woman no less. No matter how many years he lives, Edward doesn't change that much.
Jessica and Angela came over a few minutes later after Rosalie and Emmett disappeared, the two opting to return home to spend time together than stay at prom any longer since the blonde had already caught up with her friend. "Guys," Jessica hissed when she sat down. "They about to announce the prom king, queen, prince and princess. Now we can see if all our planning paid off."
"What planning?" Leah asked, looking between her girlfriend and her friends. "What have you three done?"
"Nothing…" Bella replied too quickly. At the disbelieving look on Leah's face, she continued, "Well, okay, what I told Rose was true, sort of, but we had an ulterior motive…"
"All right everyone," Devin said into the microphone on stage where the DJ had set up shop. "We're going to announce the junior prom prince and princess and the senior prom king and queen. We've been accepting votes for the past week, and we just finished tallying the votes. For the juniors, your prom Prince and Princess are… Lauren Mallory and Mike Newton!"
The spotlight drifted over and lit up the two in question. Lauren was crying as she tugged Mike towards the stage, probably thankful that she used waterproof mascara. The announcement of the prom king and queen was lost to Bella, Angela and Jessica as the relished in their plan coming together. "What did you three do?" Leah asked, taking in their smug expressions.
"Well, Lauren wouldn't leave me alone, apparently nobody likes her so in a desperate moment for friends, she reached out to me again," Jessica rolled her eyes. "I've out grown Lauren at this point, so Bells, Angie and I cooked up this scheme to make Lauren popular again and to get her some friends."
"You got her elected prom princess?"
"Take a look," Bella said, pointing to the crowd of her classmates gathered around Mike and Lauren. The guys were clapping Mike on the back, congratulating him, while the girls fawned over Lauren and her crown. "Shallow, vapid personalities, they'll do well together, maybe they'll even grow up a little."
"Though I think Tyler feels a little put out," Angela observed, nodding to Lauren's other boy toy, former boy toy at this rate.
"Mike may be an idiot and like an overgrown puppy, but he's genuinely a good guy. Tyler on the other hand is a dick, and will continue to be an asshole," Jessica huffed.
Angela and Jessica returned to socializing, leaving Bella and Leah alone at their table. Leah's hand continued to caress Bella's thighs, inching higher and further in, causing her girlfriend's breath to hitch. "Let's get out of here," Bella murmured, brushing her nose along Leah's, her eyes dark with lust.
"My car's in the parking lot," the older girl whispered, pulling her keys out of her purse. She had given a spare set of keys to Renee to drop her car off.
"Then let's go back to your place," Bella gasped out as Leah groped her thigh again. "I think it's about time don't you?" Her eyes were almost glowing, a thin ring of green around her dilated pupils.
"Yeah," Leah replied, her own eyes glowing gold. "Let's get out of here." She grabbed the younger girl's hand and tugged her out of her seat, pulling her towards the door. Bella caught sight of Angela and Jessica as they were leaving, and both winked at her on the way out.
"Fuck," the shifter muttered as she caught sight of Sam and Jacob waiting outside the gym.
"Shit, when did Jake bulk up so much?" Bella hissed, taking in his tall stature, short hair, and large muscles.
"What are you two doing here?" Leah asked, approaching the two out of sight of any onlookers from the gym.
"We came to order you back to the reservation Leah," Sam sneered. "And to end this unnatural relationship. You're meant to have pack pups, not mate with a female. You can't ignore both of us, the current Alpha and the direct descendent of the previous Alpha." Jake glared harshly at the woman in front of him, furious with her for taking the girl that he wanted, the girl that was to be his as his dad promised him years ago.
"You are to leave Bella, never speak to her again and return to the reservation and the pack where you belong," Jake spoke, using the Alpha timber that he was born to wield.
"What happened to you Jake? When we talked months ago, you weren't such an asshole," Bella sighed sadly, taking in the changes to the boy she spoke to about the tribal legends.
"I shifted into a wolf and the elders educated me on my true place in the tribe, the pack," he sneered. "One that you will be quite familiar with in the future. Leah, come with us, NOW!"
"Shut the fuck up Black, you to Uley," Leah bit out, an edge in her own voice. Both of their mouths' snapped shut, much to their surprise as they took in the seething girl in front of them. "Now you two dickheads are going to go back to the reservation and leave Bella and me alone. And tell the elders to fuck off, I am never coming back, not with the way they're treating me and how they want to use me as the pack broodmare, which is what you just implied."
They glared and reluctantly started to turn away, only for Edward to come out of the gym and head right towards them. "What are you mutts doing here?" He hissed out. "Are you here to finally take command of your bitch and take her back to where she belongs?"
Leah turned a furiously glare on Edward, her body starting to vibrate when Jasper and Alice appeared next to him. Jasper wrapped a hand around Edward's mouth, his other hand grabbing his arm as he drug him away. "Sorry," Alice said. "He got away from us."
"Chief Black wanted us to let you know that we're watching," Jacob grit out, his mouth still reluctant to co-operate before he and Sam disappeared into the woods back towards La Push.
Bella and Leah were left alone as the others that were around them all left, going in different directions. "Please don't tell me that the mood is ruined?" Bella asked, turning to look at her girlfriend.
"No," Leah replied, moving her hands around Bella's waist, cupping her ass softly. "No, seeing that idiot boy Jake and then Edward trying to assert a claim on you just made the wolf even more furious, wanting to place it's own claim on you, wanting to show that you belong to her, to us."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Bella asked. "Take me home Leah, and just take me."
Leah's eyes were fully glowing gold, matching Bella's own glowing green eyes. "As you wish," Leah murmured, remembering the line from one of Bella's favorite movies she made her watch on one of their less formal dates. "As you wish."
A/N: I have started the next chapter, and before any of you ask, no, I'm not writing smut. I don't write smut because I have found that your minds will suffice filling out all of the details without me having to tell you. Just imagine it as how you think it would go between them and roll with it. The next chapter starts with the morning after, and hopefully we'll see what Laurent is up to.
And that whole 5 chapter thing was an estimate. I think I can finish this story in five chapters, well, four now, but I'm not sure, as you can see, I dig dialogue and character development. We'll see what happens.
Make sure to review guys. I didn't get a lot last time, which kinda means that maybe you guys aren't interested, or waiting for the end.
Happy New Years, may 2016 be as interesting as 2015 (and less dramatic, chill on the drama 2016)
