"I AM SO GOING TO KILL YOU HUNTER!" Olivia screamed as she came through the front door and slamming it shut behind her. Throwing her backpack on the ground she stalked through the house looking for her older brother.

Caroline closed her eyes in resignation that her quiet afternoon had now come to an end. Opening her eyes she looked at her husband who had been sketching quietly while enjoying a tumbler of scotch set his notebook down and downed what was left of his drink at if preparing himself for what was to come. As they both knew when Olivia got like this there was no such thing as a peaceful resolution.

Listening to Olivia bang and slam her way through the house Caroline was just about to stand up to investigate, when Olivia came tearing into the study, her lovely face flushed with anger and her green eyes dark with the promise of wrathful destruction.

"Where is he? Is he home? Is he hiding from me?"

"He isn't home yet, Olivia. Why are you looking for him? What's going on?" Caroline asked.

"He is dead mom! SO DEAD! So dead his name might as well be Paul Walker. And I don't even care if I go to jail for fratricide. It will be totally worth it." Olivia raged, her small hands balling into fits ready to slam them into Hunter's face once she got ahold of him.

"Fratricide? Really? What teenager says fratricide? Let alone know what fratricide is." Caroline said to Klaus who just smirked and looked incredibly smug.

"What can I say, love? It's those strong English genes."

Caroline rolled her eyes.

"Or her A.P. classes."

"HEY!" Olivia snapped, giving both of her parents the death glare.

"Apologies, little love. You were saying something about fratricide I believe?" Klaus said as he looked from his wife to his daughter who looked ready to blow a gasket. Her anger that much worse due to the little side conversation her parents had just had.

Caroline looked expectantly at her daughter and waited patiently for her to tell them why she wanted to murder Hunter.

"Yes, because I am going to kill him dad! Do you know what he did? DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE DID?"

"Well we won't know unless you tell us." Klaus said with a slight smirk and Olivia threw him a withering glare, not at all appreciative of his injection of humor.

"Nik!" Caroline scolded and Klaus just held his hands up in surrender. Caroline looked back to her daughter and gave her a nod.

"What did he do, sweetie?"

"He basically threatened all of the boys at school that he would rearrange their faces if any of them tried to flirt with me or try and date me. Can you believe that? Totally a dick move and -"

"Language." Caroline cut in, as she made a note to herself that she was really going to have to limit Olivia's time spent over at Rebekah's and Stefan's when she knew Damon was going to be visiting.

Olivia ignored her mother's warning and continued on her rant.

"I am so going to murder him for it! Let's see him try and stop boys from talking to me if he is dead! And once he is dead I am going to get myself a boy to go out with and OUR FIRST DATE IS GOING TO BE ON HUNTER'S GRAVE!"

Caroline and Klaus blinked at that, because what could you even say to something like that. The parents were saved from having to respond to that as the reason for Olivia's anger decided to walk through the study door.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" Hunter said amiably as he dropped his backpack on the floor.

Caroline and Klaus didn't even get a chance to warn Hunter as Olivia had launched herself at him within moments and had him flat on his back before he could blink.

"Oliv-gak" Hunter cut off from speaking as Olivia wrapped her hands around his neck and started squeezing the life out of him.

Olivia's murder attempt didn't last very long, Klaus was pulling Olivia off Hunter before she could properly strangle him and Caroline was already down on the ground with Hunter trying to help him sit up.

"What the hell, Liv!" Hunter growled as he glared at his younger sister, his hands rubbing at his sore throat. Caroline moving his hand to inspect the damage.

"I am pretty sure all of this is the fault of the Mikaelson gene pool." Caroline said as she glared at Klaus, who was struggling to hold onto Olivia who was fighting like hell to get out of her father's grasp so she could attack Hunter again.

"She gets her flair for the dramatic from you, sweetheart." Klaus dead panned.

"Have you even met your sister?" Caroline shot back. As if Caroline had anything on Rebekah.

Klaus just gave her an incredulous look.

"Mom? Dad? Can we maybe focus on the fact my sister just tried to strangle me?" Hunter said, interrupting the side conversation they were having.

"I'm gonna do more than strangle you, you jerk! Did you not think I wasn't going to find out about what you did?" Olivia yelled at her brother, increasing her struggles to get out of her father's arms.

Hunter looked perplexed.

"Find out about what?"

The fact that he had to ask made Olivia see red.

"FIND OUT ABOUT WHAT?! FIND OUT ABOUT WHAT?! About you telling all the boys at school to stay away from me! Did you think I wouldn't find out? I am going to rearrange your stupid face and then we see how you like it to have girls not talk to you."

Hunter had the audacity to actually shrug at her accusation.

"I told you I wasn't going to let you date. I am not sorry for telling the guys at school to stay away from you and I will beat the hell out of anyone who so much as looks at you. No one is going to touch my little sister." Hunter said as he got to his feet, helping his mother up, oblivious to Caroline look of anger.

"And that is why I am going to murder you! You can't stop me dating if you aren't alive!"

"ENOUGH! THE BOTH OF YOU CAN SHUT UP RIGHT NOW OR SO HELP ME GOD THE TWO OF YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A LOT BIGGER PROBLEMS THAN DATING!

Caroline yelled at both her son and daughter causing them both to freeze in place. They both knew when their mother got to the point of yelling they were more than likely not going to survive the night unscathed. Even Klaus stayed quiet, not wanting risk changing the direction of his wife's anger from their children to him.

Caroline glared at her two children daring them to test her. When they remained silent Caroline gave a nod of her head and turned to deal with Hunter first.

"Hunter Niklaus Mikaelson. I cannot believe you would do something like this to your sister. Your father and I gave her permission to date and you deliberately sabotaged any chance of her being able to do so. For that you are grounded for a month."

Hunter opened his mouth to protest but Caroline just held out her her hand and he shut his mouth again.

"You are going to retract your threat at school and if hear that you so much as gave one of those boys a sideways glance I will take away your phone, your computer, your car and your freedom for the rest of your high school life."

As Caroline dealt out each threat the look of horror on Hunter's face became more and more prominent.

"Do you understand me?" Caroline asked in a hard voice.

Hunter just nodded mutely. He wanted to protest. He wanted to appeal to his father for leniency but he knew if he were to open his mouth and even attempt any of that his mother would just heap on that much more punishment. Over the years he had come to know when his mother was open to negotiations and when she was straight up Judge Dredd. Now was one of those times that Caroline would be appropriately labeled as Judge Dredd.

Caroline then turned her attention to Olivia, who was no longer restrained and was currently giving Hunter quite the smug smirk. It was the same one Klaus had that he would give to the opposing counsel when he would win a case. It was also the one he would give her when he managed to get her to scream his name for the nth time that night.

"And Olivia Katerina Mikaelson." The smirk fell so fast off Olivia's face it almost made you question if it had been there in the first place. Olivia could feel the proverbial ax that was hanging over her head. Her mother didn't use her full name unless there was punishment to be had.

"Your behavior this afternoon has been outright appalling. I tolerate your temper up to a point, but you have absolutely crossed the line. Attacking your brother like that was wrong and completely inexcusable." Caroline said, the judgment in her eyes weighing heavily on Olivia's shoulders, making them slump forward as her eyes dropped to the ground.

"Due to your behavior, you will also be grounded for a month." Olivia's head popped up and she opened her mouth to protest, as she had yet to learn their mother's defcon levels of judgement.

Given Hunter's current level of guilt he decided to keep his sister from digging her own grave and caught Olivia's eye and gave her a frantic shake of his head. Olivia squinted at Hunter, not sure she could trust him after what he had just pulled but he could always read their mother better than she could she decided to take his advice and promptly shut her mouth.

Klaus stood back and was content to watch the captain of the ship in action. He always loved the way she would take charge and make sure that everything was righted. Most outsiders thought that Klaus was the disciplinarian in the family, but those that knew them knew that Caroline was the one who wielded the whip. She said it was due to her mean girl persona in high school. She knew when where and how to strike. Hell, he had been the recipient of her detrimental punishments more times than he liked to think about.

It was that content look that Hunter caught on his father's face and it was right then and there that he decided that he was not going down alone. He was going to drag his father down with him. If he was forced to face Caroline's wrath then so would Klaus.

"Mom."

Caroline looked up from Olivia and arched a brow in question.

"I know what I did was wrong. But I want you to know that I was only looking out for my little sister."

Caroline arched both brows now as she waited for him to get to the point. His father however, quickly caught on to what his son was doing, but before he could do anything Hunter was speaking again.

"As was Dad when he knew what I was going to do."

Klaus groaned as Hunter ratted him out. He was going to remember this betrayal come allowance day. And as much as he wanted to focus on his retribution, he had more pressing matters to concern himself with. Namely, his wife.

Caroline's eyes became angry slits as she turned her attention to her husband.

"You knew about this?" Caroline asked quietly. Her even soft tone not fooling Klaus for a second. He knew what she was upset and he treaded cautiously.

"Sweetheart, Olivia is our little girl, we need to keep her safe." Klaus said as he tried to appeal to the natural mothering instinct that Caroline had. A beacon that shone so brightly that Klaus used it as his guiding light as a father, to make sure he was doing what was right for his children.

"She is also a young woman who is capable of making decisions for herself."

Klaus opened his mouth to protest but was quickly silenced by his wife.

"You lied to me. Not only lied to me once, but twice. We agreed to allow them to date at 16. A decision made a few years and ago and reconfirmed just last month." Caroline said in a deadly voice.

"Sweetheart-"

"Hunter, Olivia, go to your rooms." Caroline said with a growl as she glared at her husband.

Olivia and Hunter looked at each other, knowing that their father was in hot water and quickly left the room. Hunter was actually feeling the tiniest bit of guilt for dragging his father down with him. But that guilt was squashed just as quickly as it came once he remembered that for the next month he was grounded.

"I cannot believe you would go behind my back - in conjunction with our son - and sabotage Olivia like that." Caroline was seething with anger and she wanted nothing more than to strangle her husband. The only thing holding her back was that it would set a bad precedent of 'do as I say not as I do'. As she had already punished Olivia for attempting the same thing.

"Love ..." Klaus said pleadingly, his mind quickly working to find some way out of this disaster.

"No. I don't want to hear a word out of your mouth. I am so angry with you right now I can't even look at you." Caroline said as she turned away and raked her fingers through her hair.

After a moment of quiet she spoke.

"I am going to Katherine's. I don't know when I will be home so make sure you see to dinner." Caroline said as she started walking to the door. And as if she knew Klaus was going to say something she turned around and pointed at him.

"Not. A. Word." Her glare promising that not even the Devil himself could rain down hell like she would if he tried to talk to her in that moment.

Which Klaus was absolutely going to before she leveled her warning at him. He would say anything to stop her from going to Katherine's. Whenever they had a fight, Caroline end up at Katherine's and of course Katherine would get pissed off and rant to Elijah and it would all end with Klaus getting a phone call from Elijah and getting lectured on whatever Caroline had been mad at him about. Followed by Caroline coming home more angry than when she left and throwing him out of their bedroom for the night. Not that it mattered, because he would just sneak back into bed once Caroline was asleep. And as much as Caroline hated to admit it, even when she was mad at Klaus she hated not waking up in his arms in the morning.

Caroline watched Klaus shut his mouth and gave him a nod, acknowledging that he had made the right choice. And with that Caroline turned on her heel and left the room.

Klaus sighed, and resigned to his fate went to pour himself another drink.
