Chapter 21

"Played?"

"Dooku's funding both sides in this conflict, hiding behind your deceased Master. If it comes to war, the Jedi would not be enough but here there's an army just waiting for you. How would the Senate react to knowing a Jedi funded the creation of an army, even if it is for the Republic. War starts, there's chaos and mass death. You aren't soldiers and while I am sure you would do your best to lead, it would take time to learn. The reputation of the Order would take some massive hits during that time if important battles were lost. We need to take a very close look at just what these clones have been taught. There is no way the enemy would fund an army they couldn't make use of…there must be a trap in them," Harry thought out loud. "Dooku wants the Republic to be drawn into a war….and I hate to suggest it…but so does your mysterious Sith. We know they're tied to the Trade Federation."

"Worrying this is. Investigate thoroughly you must, discover the trap we must, before the Senate of this hears."

"Yes Master," Obi-Wan agreed and they were soon signed off.

"Looks like we're going to be rather busy, we should get some sleep," Harry stretched and Obi-Wan nodded, following him into one of the bedrooms where they stripped down and climbed into bed.

"Good morning Boba, is your Father in?"

"Dad! Taun We's here!" the boy called out into the apartment.

An older man appeared in the hallway and the similarities between child and adult would have been astounding if they hadn't known that the boy was a clone of the man.

"It's been a long time Jango," Harry greeted him, and the bounty hunter frowned in confusion before it cleared.

"Harry Potter," Jango said and Harry nodded. "What brings you all the way out here?"

"Business, got out of the bounty game a few years back. This is Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, we're here to inspect the army."

"I hope you're happy with what you've seen."

"Your clones are very impressive, you must be very proud," Obi-Wan offered.

"I'm just a simple man, trying to make my way in the universe, Master Jedi."

"Aren't we all?" Harry chuckled.

"Do you know why Master Sifo-Dyas chose you?"

"Master who?" Jango leant against the wall, arms crossed.

"Sifo-Dyas. Isn't he the Jedi who hired you for this job?" Obi-Wan asked, he knew Harry had been approached by Dooku and he wanted to know how involved Fett was.

"Never heard of him. I was recruited by a man called Tyranus on one of the moons of Bogden."

"No? I thought..." Obi-Wan continued the clueless act.

"Sifo-Dyas told us to expect him and he showed up just when your Jedi Master said he would. We have kept the Jedi's involvement a secret until your arrival, just as your Master requested," Taun We explained gently.

"I see," Obi-Wan nodded.

"Do you like your army?"

"It seems to me it's your army - seeing that they are all clones of you," Harry offered, mirroring Jango's stance and the older looking man grinned at him.

"They'll do their job well, I'll guarantee that."

"I look forward to seeing them in action. Thank you for your time, Jango," Obi-Wan smiled and bowed slightly to the bounty hunter who looked surprised by that but nodded.

"Always a pleasure to meet a Jedi," he offered in return.

They left and returned to their room to study the material supplied by the Kaminoans on the clones.

"Tyranus…." Obi-Wan considered the name.

"That's the name Dooku used when he approached me.," Harry pointed out and Obi-Wan nodded.

"Everything leads back to him."

Padme smiled when the door opened before she even reached it, Anakin grinning shyly at her, reaching out to take her bag. "How are you Ani?"

"Good, I uh….I finished my schooling."

"Really? That's wonderful, I'm so proud of you," she followed him inside where he placed her bag in the guestroom. "How is your training with Master Jinn?" they went into the living area and sat down on the couches there.

"Good, Qui-Gon said I'm almost up to my age mates now."

"And doing very well indeed," Qui-Gon said as he stepped inside from the back garden. "Lady Padme, it is good to see you," he bowed to her and she stood, taking his hands.

"It is always good to see you Master Jinn."

"Will you be with us long?" he asked, going to make tea.

"A few days, if that's alright?"

"Of course, it will be nice to have company."

Soon they were sitting and drinking tea while she talked of life on Coruscant and the goings on of the Senate while Anakin talked about his training. Qui-Gon added to the talk here and there, just happy to watch, content to see Anakin so animated. Anakin was still fascinated with her and they had talked about it, to ensure that what he felt would not become unhealthy. Obi-Wan proved that Jedi could have relationships, but that duty must come first. Ig Anakin matured to where he could have a relationship like that then he would not stand in the way.

Harry groaned, stretching and cracking his back, giving his poor eyes a break from the datapad he was reading. Obi-Wan chuckled but put his own aside as well, standing up to stretch. The amount of data provided was staggering but they had to get through it all before they could leave. There was a Sith trap here somewhere, they just had to find it.

I know it's very short, but I've been struggling with it for months. hopefully when I come to write the next chapter it will flow better.
