*Hey, I know it's been a while, but I got really uninspired, and then my dad passed away, so I just kind of disconnected from everything. Here is the last chapter of Aftershocks. Chapter 18

Tris POV

Sixteen years later…

"Mom, dad, I'm leaving for school!"

I smiled and tossed Haley's lunch at her as she ran out the door. "Be safe, and don't forget your brother, I love you Five!"

I could hear my husband's voice as he dragged our son, Emmett towards the door. "Emmett, come on, it's time to go."

Haley rolled her eyes. "Mom, twerp just holds me down! Can't dad just take him?"

"No, dad can't just take him, Haley." Tobias said as he transferred Emmett's twelve year old hand into Haley's. "Just make sure he gets to school safe, and I'll pick him up after school. He still needs help getting on and off the train."

"No, I don't, dad! I'm twelve, I've been jumping on trains for years!"

I smiled and handed Emmett his lunch. "Of course. Just do it for my peace of mind, okay? Let your big sister take care of you."

They both groaned and then walked out the door hand in hand. I could hear Christina, Uriah, and Zeke's kids all shouting and yelling as they all headed for the trains together. Those kids were thick as thieves. Well, except for Uriah's oldest, Ezra. He's quiet, and goes about his business, much in the way Tobias used to. He's sixteen, and his choosing ceremony is next week with our eldest son, Carson.

Ezra and Carson are really close, but that's because they balance each other so well. Ezra is thoughtful and sits back and lets Carson take the lead. I'm so proud of my kids. They're going to be amazing Dauntless.

Tobias shut the door, and turned to me and smiled. "You ready to de-throne Max finally?"

I grinned. Tobias and I, along with some of the other faction leaders had been working tirelessly for the last sixteen years to slowly weed out the leaders that were causing harm. When I got pregnant with Carson, our plans had to change. We didn't want our children to be raised in war. So instead we raged a silent war. Max was the last to go, and then we were going to pick three new leaders out of the new initiation class. The only people getting cut this year would be those not living up to Dauntless standards. The way Tobias and I had always wanted it to be.

"More than ready."

But I want to spend a minute talking about my kids, because I love nothing more than gushing about my kids.

Carson is tall, really tall, and he's very muscular, with dark hair. He looks so much like Tobias, it's scary. He and Ezra have spent a lot of time down at the tattoo parlor with Tori getting inked—using their own money. That's our only rule. If you want to ink yourself, you need to do it with your own cash. But Carson is a really good kid, smart. He talks non-stop about working down in the control room, like Tobias used to.

Then there's our other son, Emmett. He's twelve. All he wants to do is be like Haley and Carson, and he's a great blend of Tobias and I. It's like he got the best parts of both of us.

And finally, our only daughter Haley. Haley is a…she's a spit fire. Her hair changes color at least once a month, if not more, and this week it's a fire engine red. Hell, I can't pull it off, but she does. She pulls everything off. Her figure is finally starting to come in, and it's no shock to me that my calm Carson has started getting into fights at school for her. Haley loves to push boundaries, she wears whatever she feels comfortable in, which tends to be tight and short clothes. All the better to fight in, she says. My little girl is tough and doesn't let anyone push her around. Her nose is pierced, as well as her belly button. And her ears, I don't think that there's any more room for more piercings. I think that one day she'll be a wonderful leader of Dauntless. After her father and I step down, of course. I just worry that one day she'll discover what her father and I did. That she'll push the boundary too far and get into trouble.

But that's another story…

It will be mainly about Ezra and Haley as they fall in love, are in love and how they discover what Tris and Tobias had to set to the side, for their children's safety. They are in an underground band together along with Ezra's brother (Yet to be named) who is also in love with Haley. They try and fight their way to a better world together. And for each other.
