Okay sorry this took so long I've got a new temp job which keeps my busy three days a week and it's been a busy weekend

LXVIII-Beyond the Limits

It wasn't long before Spyro landed in the familiar grounds of the magically electrified fortress with angular and tall towers and windows and crystal motif, that was Concurrent Skies but unlike before it was heavily guarded much more so then last time. "This won't work. We'll have to find another way." Cynder concluded.

"Is there another way?!" Sparx asked incredulously.

"Yeah, you forget this was our fortress at one point, follow me I know where we can start." Raiciel replied heading towards the back area of the landing point in the middle of the small clearing was a metal pole. "Spyro can you help me with this? It needs electricity breath but it needs the power of a full grown dragon to open it."

"Right," Spyro replied Ignitus had taught them about similar locking Mechanisms in the Temple and other buildings in Dragon city it was to let certain Dragons in but keep uninvited Younglings out.

The two combined their electric stream breaths eventually managing to open the door. "We're in!" Cynder said as they entered the cave.

"Is there anything I can light in here its pitch black." Solria muttered as she looked around.

"No, unfortunately not, usually the apes would have torches lit on hand when they went down here." Raiciel replied.

Sparx grinned "I think I can help with this." he said lighting the way with his own light as they headed down the corridor.

"Good job Sparx, thank you!" Spyro cheered as they made their way through the tunnel

"No problem!" Sparx said as they made their way through.

"Hey Cynder, where does this go," Koryu asked.

"It should take us to where we dove at Sparx but a little above it," she replied.

"We here," Raiciel said placing his paw on the door and instantly it opened indeed they were now ways away inside the fortress.
"I can see the main castle from here!" Solria said.

"Hey look down there!" Spyro said looking down.

"Rhynocs," Flashwing muttered.

"That must mean Ripto and the Sorceress have made this their base!" Koryu added.

"We need to kick them out." Solria said.

Cynder nodded, she quietly slunk down and killed the patrolling Rhynocs by striking them in the heart with her Scorpion strike attack the others quickly followed and they made their way towards the main castle.

"You don't think they can see us do you?" Sparx asked.

"Not if we're careful." Spyro replied as they headed closer towards the path.

FAI FAI FAI

The path hadn't changed much electrically charged crystals lined the area as the snow white soil shifted under their feet as they ran they had to be careful and that required taking out enemies as quickly and quietly as possible they made it to an area where Spyro and the twins had to take out some enemies it wasn't any different here as a few Rhynocs had set up and before the group knew it they started attacking.

Cynder was able to freeze them in their tracks with a Banshee gale once that was done Solria and Spyro hit the first two with a comet dash while Raiciel knocked a few away Flashwing had blinded a few and knocked them into a corner where she could take care of them leaving the rest for Koryu and Cynder.

A Rhynoc roared and rose up his axe however Cynder use her puppetry to stop him in his tracks. "Koryu now while I've got him!"

"I'm on it!" Koryu said unleashing his ice breath that froze the beast in place once that was done Cynder hit the ice block with a wing slash slicing it in two. A couple more came and Koryu knocked one back with his Crystal rush Cynder on the other hand used a Glare to paralyze one of their remaining Rhynocs and then send it helplessly away with a Cyclone ramming it against a crystal hard.

Solria and Koryu managed to kill several with their fire abilities and Spyro knocked more away towards Flashwing with his earth pound she then struck with her crystal edge knocking them into the ground.

The survivors called for help and quickly the Dragons were surrounded. "Guys fly up!" Cynder suddenly said.

"What?" Spyro asked incredulously.

"Just trust me on this I don't want you in the way!" she replied they nodded and took to the skies Raiciel striking a few with electric streams as they flew Cynder rose up compiling what looked like a bubbling green liquid around her alerting them to her poison fury and they flew quicker into the sky just as Cynder unleashed the wave of poisonous acid that killed them off she quickly offed a few twitching ones to end their suffering as the others landed some ways away by the next area. Cynder carefully made her way to them as they continued down the path seeing the elevator before them.

They had to take out a few more Rynocs as they made their way in. "The Sorceress and Ripto must have made this their base we'll need to chase the troops out if we want to confront them without interruption." Koryu noted.

"Hide!" Solria suddenly said they flew up to a nearby ledge high above the two Rynocs heading down the path. They were talking in the ancient language however Flashwing understood everything.

"They're going to attack Warfang! We have to stop them!" she cried.

"They must be preparing if we stop them before they leave we'll prevent the invasion." Cynder replied as they flew over the rest of the area following the two former rulers of this place to an area where they could see the armies getting ready.

"This is bad…this is really, really bad…" Solria hissed "We're never going to be able to take them all out."

Flashwing looked around and saw something, strange above them it looked like a measuring cup or pourer of sorts but it was much larger and wider. "Maybe we don't have too, Cynder, Raiciel do you know what that is?" she asked pointing above them getting everyone to adjust their line of sight.

"It's a booby trap we placed for if and when the Dragon armies tried to storm the castle," Cynder replied.

"It was a good way kill invading armies with one sweep but the amount of raw ore needed to do that takes days and we don't have that kind of time." Raiciel argued.

"Maybe we don't have too, I mean in a bee hive you kill the queen and the rest of the hives die right?" Sparx asked. "And as we all know Rhynocs are only above rocks in intelligence."

"He's right Rynocs can't think for themselves so when they see we've defeated Ripto and the Sorceress they'll be forced to flee and find a new leader." Spyro added.

"Why not just take the army for ourselves to command?" Solria asked.

"Because despite their lack of intelligence they hate Dragons and again we don't have that kind of time, but we can't have them barrel towards Warfang they have to be in the castle when we take the two head haunchos out." Koryu replied.

"I have an idea, we can't make aura but there's enough sugar fruit in here to make a sticky paste that you cannot get out of until water hits, don't ask." Cynder replied.

"Okay then let's get to the Kitchen." Raiciel said. They quickly made their way through the hallways making absolute care not to alert the monsters.

"Hurry this way." Raiciel said as he went down into the kitchen, Sparx seemed a little surprised by something so average being in a place like this.

"Hey even evil doers gotta eat, this was mostly used for the apes though Raiciel and I hunted for our own food." Cynder replied.

Raiciel looked around and opened the storage room. "Found them," he replied going towards some purply colored fruit that seemed to had mold and soft dark spots. "They're rotten so when we pound them down they'll be much stickier."

"I've heard of these they have addictive properties and are illegal for food vendors, these fruits have caused fights why did you two have them!?" Koryu asked.

"The Apes, they got addicted and started growing them in a special garden here, this fruit can grow anywhere and it's healthy for you despite tasting like a candy pie, but these things are more trouble than they're worth as Koryu said these fruits have caused fights and they're addictive, when they rot they turn poisonous and dangerous to eat because they become so sticky when mushed….." She shivered remembering how the apes had gotten their mouths sealed shut it amused her as Dark Cynder, but now… "I kept them around because I wanted to see if there was a way to use them to have the Dragon armies, destroy, themselves; from within." Cynder explained ending with some shame in her voice. "But it never worked, because A: there was no way to do it as Sugar fruit is easy to spot, B:…there was an incident I don't like to talk about."

"How are we gonna get these up there quick?" Sparx asked.

"My Shadow breath the puppetry ability can lift all these crates all at once and get them to the flood room." Cynder replied.

"That's Brilliant!" Flashwing stated.

"I have my moments." Cynder retorted proudly.

"Okay let's go!" Spyro said eagerly as Cynder began to gather the crates putting them in dark orbs not to spill the fruit. They went up a set of stairs eventually coming to a room where Cynder dumped all the fruit in the large bowl that was much more massive up close. As Solria and Spyro got the heat going Cynder was using her puppetry move to use a large masher that Spyro shaped out of a block to mash the juice. Eventually the fruit had turned into a sticky paste. "Okay we're ready!" Raiciel said as he used his water breath to wash away the residue on the masher the gunk was set, they were ready.

"Okay push!" Cynder said they all rushed the contraption forcing the liquid to pour from above the Rynocs who panicked and were now stuck in the gunk Spyro suddenly saw this got the attention of Ripto who was shouting at them to move and get out of the gunk before they were all stuck but within minutes the entire army was immobile.

"Cynder, Flashwing, Raiciel you three find the Sorceress, Solria Koryu and I will fight Ripto." Spyro replied.

"Okay good luck!" Cynder replied as she and the other two took to the skies leaving the trio to surge forward towards Ripto who backed up insurprise but never the less was prepared. "So a show down is it?" he asked waving his staff and suddenly the top of the roof was vaporized and his room morphed into an arena he smirked as the three landed in surprise of his preparation.

Cynder and Co scoured the skies looking around the castle. "Where is- GRAAAHH!" Cynder was suddenly zapped Raiciel had to quickly counter the lightning that was striking her and looked below to see the sorceress glaring at him.

"Down there!" he shouted flying forward the girls following as he unleashed Lightning blast after lightning blast at her which she was deflecting with ease much to Raiciel's anger.

FAI FAI FAI

"It's over Ripto!" Spyro snarled.

"Just because you've stopped our armies it doesn't mean it's over!" he said the orb in his staff suddenly glowing blue he rose up with ice spikes around him he began to shoot them out at the group Solria quickly countered with fire balls melting the ice as did Spyro using his flame breath Koryu was busy trying to hack away at the ice but eventually both attacks got through and struck Ripto.

He blasted them away with lightning causing them to be pretty dazed for a few seconds before they realized they were surrounded by a lightning storm they had to dodge another set of blows.

"Spyro every time he uses an element it changes the color of his staff gem!" Sparx said pointing to the now yellow gem.

"That must be the source of his power!" Koryu said. "If a stone does that it means that while he has the knowledge and skill he doesn't have the actual power!"

"Then lets destroy it!" Solria said flying into the air dodging lightning bolts but get struck and hitting the ground hard.

"Solria!" Spryo cried helping her up.

"I'm fine." She said shaking out the cobwebs.

"We're not gonna get him from up there!" Koryu stated noting the lightning that surrounded him in the skies striking wildly.

"There's no lightning from where he is in the eye of the storm, maybe…." Spyro muttered rushing towards him being careful to avoid lightning strikes he managed to get right underneath Ripto and blasted him upwards with a surprised yelp of pain as his butt took the full brunt of an earth shot. Koryu and Solria couldn't help but laugh.

Ripto however wasn't going to take his bruised dignity lying down. "You impudent little lizard!" he snarled blasting Spyro with a burst of Fire which hit him until he was able to fly above its range he then countered with a lightning strike attack covering himself with electricity as he struck Ripto square chested.

Ripto was then hit with a fusion fury before he could counter the twins were coming at him fast but Ripto struck the ground his scepter turning red.

"Hot ground!" Koryu yelped as they took to the skies flying around Ripto who was now sending a barrage of Fire balls at them.

Koryu and Solria's Cryo and Scald breaths managed to keep most of the rocks off them as they dodged and avoided the attacks. "We can't keep this up forever!" Koryu groaned as he dodged another blow.

"Make him stop from up here?! You have sparkly face magic!" Sparx complained from Spyro's back making the purple Dragon think.

"It's not homing magic you know!" Solria argued.

"I've got it!" Spyro said coming up with an idea he unleashed a small red glowing rock that landed some ways away from Ripto it suddenly exploded destroying his small island and causing him damage.

"Now," Spyro shouted rushing down with amazing speed the twins trailing inches behind him Ripto was able to bat them away with an earthquake spell that caught them midair Spyro however managed to parkour the rest of the way the twins getting stuck.

"NO!" Ripto cried as the maw of the purple dragon opened Spyro snatched the staff from his mouth and snapped it into two with his mouth then destroyed the gem with his earth flail.

"No! My staff without it I can't Channel my magic!" he cried. He gasped when he saw the Dragons tower over him.

FAI FAI FAI

The Sorceress laughed maniacally as she flew on some round platform blasting magic at the three Dragons who were now trying to keep from getting shot.

"She's insane!" Cynder growled as they hid for cover.

"I can strike her down from here but I need you two to cover me!" Raiciel said.

"Alright, Flashwing you with me?" Cynder asked.

"Yes?" She asked nodding unsure of Cynder's question as they flew out.

"Oh so you've finally come out to play have you?" the Sorceress asked blasting more and more fire balls from her staff Cynder and Flashwing countered as best as they could with their own elements knocking away fire balls Cynder even used her puppetry to throw up rock shields against the fire balls.

"Keep it up girls just a little more." Raiciel thought as he charged up a storm unbeknownst to the Sorceress. She had just broken through Cynder's defense when Raiciel was now floating above them eyes and tattoos glowing as he struck her with enough lightning to knock her out cold as she fell Cynder softened her landing while Raiciel made sure to restrain her.

Eventually both were re-drained of their powers and locked into the fortress dungeon. "That should them, and with the Rhynoc's heading for the hills we only have to worry about Luxiar."

"I've sent word to Terrador he'll be here to pick these two up problem is we don't know where Luxiar is!" Koryu added.

"I have an idea." Raiciel replied as they headed out and flew to the tallest tower where Cynder and Raiciel were once fought. And there he was staring up into the sky like something was being displayed there.

"So you've gotten this far decimating the army and defeating Ripto and the Sorceress well done." He said without turning around.

"Bring it on shiny butt we're not fazed by anything you throw at us!" Sparx declared when he turned and stepped into the light however everyone gasped in shock. "Except that WHAT THE HECK!?"

Luxiar's appearance had changed his wings were large and thick with no membrane like they were dead and roasted dragon wings his skin was black and cracked all over his body with large metal like spikes on his back ankles and shoulders his face was contorted to barely look like it once did.

"What's happening to you?!" Spyro asked.

"The Power I tried to bestow upon you." Luxiar said with a familiar warped voice.

"He sounds kind of like Malefor!" Cynder muttered.

"Yes, indeed clever Dragoness. I am, the will of the Golem King which will be fulfilled! This world shall end in fire and brimstone!" Luxiar suddenly said.

"Luxiar always struck me as a take over the world kind of villain." Sparx muttered.

"Luxiar" Chuckled, "I suppose that fool wanted to rule over all Dragons as the King's elder brother and belief that Crystal Dragons were superior to other species of Dragons it was a right he felt he deserved."

"Brother?" Solria muttered, "Flashwing why didn't you tell us!?"

"He revoked his blood tie, once that happens no Crystal Dragon is to speak of the tie that was revoked it must be as if it never existed!" Flashwing protested.

"A Strange custom but one our dear Flashwing stuck to out of obligation none the less." The Golem Dragon sneered. "Such a shame the king tried so hard to make amends but Luxiar would never accept it out of jealousy, just as Malefor refused to suppress his limits unlike you Spyro he felt like he could rule over all including the Golems leading to his own corruption." The Golem Dragon said.

"His Corruption…..you make it sound like the Golem King possessed Malefor!" Spyro said.

"We needed the purple dragon to undo the unjustice which Amethyst cast on our people and his blind lust for power was just the thing that allowed us to take over his will and mind just as Luxiar after him." the Golem Dragon stated.

"How was Malefor able to keep a sense of self when Luxiar is basically your puppet!?" Koryu asked.

"Simple really, Malefor's will was strong enough to keep from completely submitting he may have slightly agreed with us, but all the same, our will was almost carried out and this time we will not fail!" he said taking off.

"After him!" Spyro cried as they flew up after what was left of Luxiar and suddenly. "No way!"

Final Chapter guys prepare! Also I'm part of Collab Project but I won't say what it is here yet...
