Prompt 21: Our Little Secret
The Doctor watched Rose as she she sat in front of her mom's telly catching up on some show her and Jackie used to watch together. He was sitting at the kitchen table writing down a list of things he needed for the TARDIS, and had a clear view of the living room from where he sat. He couldn't help but look at Rose's beautiful blonde hair and wonder what it might feel like to run his fingers through it. He bet it'd be the softest thing he'd ever touched. Suddenly he wondered if she could feel him staring at her and made his eyes look down at the table in front of him. That wouldn't be good, Rose Tyler catching the Doctor staring at her like a creep. The last thing he ever wanted to do was make Rose uncomfortable around him. He was a Time Lord after all, he shouldn't be letting these silly urges get to him anyway.
Doing his best to get his focus back, he started jotting more things down on his list. Rose's laugh suddenly filled the air as something happened on the tv, and the Doctor smiled despite his best effort. He loved that laugh. He could listen to it for ages. He thought about silencing that laugh with his lips being pressed against hers. Yeah, the beautiful sound of Rose would go quiet, but it would be replaced with something much better. He wondered what her lips would taste like. How soft would they be? Would she like to take the lead in a kiss or let him?
His thoughts were interrupted by the not as pleasant giggle of Jackie Tyler. The Doctor shot his head up to the woman standing beside him and looked at her questioningly. "What?" he asked. She nodded her head towards his list on the table. The Doctor followed her gaze and was horrified at what he saw. Apparently in his zoned out state he had began doodling on the paper in front of him. There were hearts going up the right side with the name 'Rose' scrawled throughout them. He slammed his hand down over the list to hide it from view and looked over at Rose to make sure she wasn't coming that way. He was relieved to see that she was still glued to the television. Jackie leaned down to whisper in the Doctor's ear.
"Don't worry, Doctor." she said. "It'll be out little secret." She giggled again and walked away, leaving a very embarrassed Time Lord to wad up his list and start again.
