A/N: So here is another chapter. I am glad I am getting these to you faster that I have been. Lol. Well I am both excited and sad to see this one wrap up. I only have one more chapter left and this first installment is done.

So I wanted to thank Susan for editing this lovely chapter for me. When I finally got a hold of her I found out she has been having trouble with her Facebook so now I have her number so if something like this happens again then I have an alternative way of getting a hold of her.

Well I hope you guys enjoy this chapter because I had fun writing it. :)

Three days later Sonny and I were walking through the forest and we were both in deep thought. They had just left Simon's funeral and it was a beautiful service. I was worried that nobody would show up because Simon was one of the care takers of the castle and from my experience they didn't have that many people attend their funerals. But when Sonny and I walked to where the funeral was going to be I saw a huge crowd of people. I was confused and I looked to Sonny for answers and all he said was, "He was well loved in this castle."

I smiled briefly before it faded away. Even though I didn't know Simon that well and I didn't have as much of a history with him like everyone else who came, I still cared for him. The funeral took longer than any other funeral I have ever been to it was still beautiful. Now I find myself in the forest with Sonny at my side as I think about who the killer could be. I really needed to find out whoever did this because I still have to fulfill the promise that I made to Simon. I need to find his killer and bring him to justice.

Suddenly my thoughts came back to the present when Sonny suddenly collapsed. He lay flat on the ground with his eyes wide open. I drop to my knees and start to shake his shoulder, "Sonny what's wrong?"

He didn't respond and I started to panic but then I saw his chest moving indicating that he was breathing, "Sonny, are you okay? Please answer me. This isn't funny." I really wasn't in the mood to deal with a joke right now.

"He can't respond to you."

The voice behind me made me instantly tense and I swung around to see whoever snuck up on me. At first I couldn't see his face but then he stepped out of the shadows and I recognized him as Nick Fallon. I looked from him to Sonny and then back again, "What did you do to him?"

He waved his hand like it wasn't a big deal, "It's only a paralyzing spell. He can't move or talk but he can feel and hear everything that is going on right now."

"Why are you doing this?"

Nick shrugged his shoulders, "Because I wanted to talk to you without Sonny interrupting us. I actually owe you a thank you because I never would have been able to sneak a spell on him if he wasn't distracted by you."

The fear that Sonny would eventually get hurt because of me flared up but the desire to protect him was greater than the fear. I stood up and faced Nick, "Why are you doing this? What do you need to say to me?"

Nick crossed his arms and sneered at me, "I wanted to talk to you in person and ask that you leave Trügália and never return. My attempts to have you killed haven't worked yet but one day they might so I am giving you the chance to choose to leave here and live or stay and die alongside your mate. What will you choose?"

Before I even gave that choice a thought I had to know one thing, "Were you the one to murder Simon?"

Anger tightened his eyes, "I am the one asking questions right now. What do you choose Will?"

I continued to stare at him, "I won't answer your question until you answer mine first. Did you or did you not kill Simon?"

A long silence followed my question before Nick decided to answer, "Yes, I did kill the stupid man. I told him that if he didn't cooperate with me then I would kill him but he didn't listen."

Once he was finished I knew what my answer to his question would be, "I will not leave here because I promised revenge for my family and Simon. Now I that I know you are responsible for Simon I will get my revenge." Anger boiled in me and I was so glad that I listened to Sonny about always caring a sword no matter where you were going.

My answer shocked Nick. Did he really think that I was going to leave? Nick composed his expression, "Well I am truly sorry to hear that because I was hoping to avoid spilling more blood but I can't put my parent's hard work at risk."

"Your parent's hard work? What do you mean by that?"

He rolled his eyes; exasperated, "My parents were the ones who were trying to overthrow your parents all those years ago. When Lucas left the castle my father went after him, it wasn't until you arrived that we realized that the reason why he left was to protect you from the threats on his life."

"If my dad left to protect me then why didn't my mom go with us? Why did she kill herself?" As much as this information was upsetting me I still wanted to know as much as I could about my parents.

"I don't really know or care to tell you about that. I just want to kill you and get it over with already." Nick pulled a sword from the sheath that was strapped to his hip. "I have heard that you we really good at sword fighting but I have been practicing long and with the most skilled sword masters. I promise to make your death quick and painless."

I instantly pulled out my sword and got into one of the many positions that I learned from Sonny and waited for Nick to make the first move. It didn't take long for Nick to step forward and swing his sword at me. I ducked swiftly and made a move to slice open his back but I was blocked my Nick's blade.

The fighting went by in a blur and I didn't remember much of what happened just that I was still alive. I had sustained a few cuts and bruises but I always repaid Nick back for those. Finally, after a long and difficult fight I noticed some of Nick's weaknesses and that he favored a lot of the same moves. I was so happy to have Sonny's lessons drilled in my head because soon I was able to push Nick back further and further.

I could see that he was starting to get scared and that renewed my hope of winning. Finally in a flurry of complicated moves I was able to pull Nick's sword from his hand. A beat of a heart passed between us as we stared at each other before Nick muttered a spell and sent me flying backward.

When I landed on my back I continued to flip backward so that I would roll to my feet. Once I stopped moving I glared at Nick, "If I knew we were going to use magic then I would have use it on you earlier." I stood up and moved forward to finally kill him.

Nick lifted a hand and a wall of fire flared up in between us. I paused and could hear Nick's voice over the roar of the fire, "If you were to kill me right now then you will be tried for treason."

I laughed, "Nice try but I am the rightful ruler here. You will be the one to face treason."

He shook his head, "Do you see this ring?" Nick held up his hand and showed it to me, "This ring has some really strong spells on it. With this ring I can control anyone who doesn't know you or have any loyalties toward you. So in preparation for this day I have started to slowly control people to the point that everyone in this castle is under my control. So if I were to tell them to arrest you and execute you they wouldn't even hesitate."

My heart dropped, "What do you want me to do then?"

"I want you to do what I asked you to do earlier. Leave Trügália and never come back."

As much as I didn't want to leave I knew that Nick had finally won. How was I supposed to stay here if he could turn everyone against him? With a heavy sigh I resigned, "I will leave Trügália and never come back."

Nick nodded as he turned to leave, "I wouldn't come back either if I were you. Not only will I have you killed but I will make it the most painful death you have ever experienced."

As soon as Nick was far away he flicked his wrist toward our direction and I heard a groan behind me. I spun around and knelt down next to Sonny. It was so good seeing Sonny moving that I pulled him into a hug.

Sonny grunted from the force of my hug, "I can't breathe."

I released him instantly, "I am sorry but I was so worried."

"Not as worried as I was when you were fighting him. It killed me to be lying there hearing everything that was going on and not be able to do anything about it." He looked at me with concern and he placed his hand against my cheek, "But I am so proud of how well you fought."

My hand covered his and I smiled, "Thanks. I wouldn't have been very good if it wasn't for you." But my excitement for making Sonny proud didn't last long when thoughts of the predicament we were currently in, "Sonny what are we going to do about Nick? We can't get very many supporters if Nick has them all under control."

Sonny stroked my cheek, "We will figure that out when we cross that bridge. Right now I think we should just pack some supplies and go to where that stone leads us. Maybe it will lead us to a way of defeating Nick and the spells he has cast."

I stood up and brought Sonny with me, "I like that plan. Let's go pack some supplies and then find our dragons. I want to be on the road as soon as we can."

Sonny took my hand and gave me a quick kiss, "I will follow you anywhere Will."
