'Oh no!' She wailed in her mind. 'How are we going to get out of this?' Silver looks around for an escape. Sandy was to her right and Rusty to her left. She felt more calm with them beside her. One she loved and one her friend. Silver noticed that Sandy had brought out his sand whips. Rusty had drawn his lips back into a snarl, ears flat against his head. Silver had her lips drawn back into a snarl, just like Rusty, showing her thorn sharp fangs. Her tail lashed in anger. She knew she would have to fight. 'But there's too many!' She wailed.
'Use the light energy of the moon,' a soft voice spoke to her.
Silver did not know how to use the power for she did it by accident. All she could do was trust her instincts. Silver closed her eyes then concentrated.
"What are you doing?" Rusty barked.
"Concentrating," Silver calmly answered.
"There's no time to concentrate!" Rusty howled with fear.
Silver ignored him; he was normally right, there was no time to concentrate. She did it anyway. As she concentrated, she was drawing in light from out of nowhere. She slowly opened her eyes. The wave was only a hundred feet away and closing in fast. Silver drew back her lips into a snarl. Quickly, she blasted the light beam. The shadow moved away as if it was afraid of it touching them. "Go!" Silver roared; Rusty pelted away while Sandy stood there ready to fight. "No point in fighting. We're out numbered." Silver growled, despite he could not understand her, then quickly snatches Sandy by the color and through him onto her back. She bolted for the parted wave. As she neared it, it was closing up. Silver quickly takes flight and flies as fast as she could. They made it through. Silver looked over to see that the others have joined the battle. "Janis is mine!" I hissed to everyone as I set Sandy down. Now, it was him against me. I was growling.
"Come an get me, mange-scales." Janis taunt.
Silver was staring him down before pouncing onto him; paws outstretched.
Janis dodged skillfully out of the way and Silver landed hard on her pause. "Too slow." He grinned. Silver snapped at him but he moved out of the way, again. Janis was close to her tail; she quickly whipped the tail, lightning fast, knocking Janis to the ground. Silver quickly pressed a fore paw onto his chest. She drew closer snarling, saliva dripping from her lips. Silver drew in her breathe deeply. Before she could exhale, something slammed into her side. Silver fell off, tumbling to across the floor. Whoever this was, it was powerful for such a small size compared to Silver.
"Leave him alone!" That was Pitch's voice.
Silver quickly rolled out of the way as he brought out his scythe and swung it toward Silver. She sprung to her feet after the roll. Pitch rose his scythe again, ready for the next swing. She stared at his raised weapon before charging in. As she darted forward, Pitch swung his massive black weapon clumsily. Silver was able to dodge the swings. She thought she had him when she neared but was knocked away by his weapon. Silver staggered backward, regaining her stance. Blood started to well up along her side where the scythe struck. Silver hood a growl and looked over to see Rusty and Sandy standing side by side. Rusty was in his attack stance while Sandy glared at Pitch with his sand whips ready.
"How cute." Pitch taunted. "They are here to defend their loved one." He smirked then readying himself. "Very well, if they want to defend you, they will see my wrath." He went off toward the two.
Silver looked to Janis. She realized something now. Fear was in his eyes. Silver looked over to see if Sandy and Rusty needed help. Rusty was dodging neatly out of the swinging weapon's range. Sandy was striking Pitch with his whips. They did not look like they needed help. She padded up to Janis. He looked up at her and began to back away; Silver stopped. She knew how terrified he was. She quickly concentrated and she immediately changed back to her human form.
"Janis?" Silver tried to calmly get his attention.
Janis fearfully stared at her.
"Janis, what is wrong?" Silver suddenly felt concerned for the young boy. "Janis, please tell me what is wrong?"
Janis shook his head.
"I won't attack you, promise." Silver raised a hand and crossed her heart.
"I... I never wanted this." Janis stammered.
Silver looks over to the battle.
"My father wanted this and he forced me into it." He then hands Silver a round collar made of blue magic. It looked solid enough to be a real collar. "I stole this from you room. I want nothing to do with it." Janis tossed the collar to Silver; she catches it. She then watched as Janis scampered away.
"Coward!" Pitch yelled after his son.
"You're the coward!" Silver hissed pouncing onto him. It took him by surprise. Both tumble to ground in a furious hand-to hand-combat. Silver striking with successful blows while Pitch kept missing. Pitch rolled over so that Silver was on her back and him the the top. Pitch gave a couple strikes but Silver dodged. She quickly brought in her legs and, with all her might, pushed Pitch off of her.
Pitch staggered backward. He frowned as he gasped out his breath, "This is not over."
"This is over," Silver hiss as she struck a hard blow, claws extended, causing him to bleed.
He gasped and glared at the group. Pitch walked back into the shadows, covering his wound on his chest, then was gone.
Silver heard the fight lessen. She looked around to see that the black beings disappeared. Silver noticed that Blackie was about to fade away. "Help that one, Sandy." Silver points to Blackie.
Sandy looks to her confused but when forward without question. He placed his hand onto the black stallion. Immediately, the black stallion changed to gold and he stopped fading. His red eyes turned blue.
