Teen X Girl

Pressure

Chapter 20

~Last Time~

"Oh no...This is not good." Cyborg said.

Oh how right he is, for Malchior floated onto the top of the tower and looked down at Titans and brotherhood. He didn't seem very pleased with either of them, but of course he wasn't at all pleased seeing our heroes out.

With a wave of his hand a magical barrier formed under the titans trapping them from within it.

"Escaping from me before the fun can begin? Shame, and all before Raven and her friends come to save you? Oh well..." Malchior said as he floated down onto the ground as the wall disappeared before he touched the ground.

"It shouldn't be long now. Raven will come to save you that is unless she just wants me to eliminate you all where you stand? Hm I wouldn't mind but where's the fun in that? No, I want her to come so I can destroy her myself, and make her feel what I felt when I was defeated and trapped in the book for hundreds of years."

"You won't get away with this!" Starfire cried out.

"I already am my dear, and soon the whole world will be at my mercy." Malchior replied.

"Not unless Raven and Beast boy stop you if we can't!" Robin said.

"So much faith in your friends, but alas they cannot win." Malchior simply said.

Then with the snap of his fingers, the barrier containing the remaining three Titans disappeared into thin air.

~And Now~

The hour is upon our heroes. The time for battle has come. It is from this battle that a hero will rise. This hero will not only save the world and other heroes, but this hero...*heavy sigh* This hero is going to prove something about being a valid team member and discover a little more about herself. She'd learn just what it was about herself that makes her so great and loved in the eyes of her friends.

Until that moment came, Raven was going to have to rely on help from her new friends and secret crush. Together they would take on the Brotherhood, stop Malchior, and save the other Titans. Sounds simple enough, but would they be enough to take down this darkness that was slowly emerging from the depths of darkness that would soon outrun all light? Was it really going to come too that? No, no our heroes would not allow it for as long as evil still breathed, good would never stop until that final breathe was taken.

If they couldn't do it no one could.

It was up to Raven, Beast Boy, and the X-men to step up and stop the darkness from spreading throughout the planet. No telling what would happen if Malchior wasn't stopped soon. He was a very powerful wizard who spent thousands of years studying and reading all there is to know about dark magic. Although he took Raven under his wing, prepping her to help release him only to betray her in the end, she was far more powerful then him. She did not require any new spells or powerful magic to defeat Malchior. What she did require was the knowledge of her friends safety. That's what really mattered.

Yet there was something inside of Raven that sent an unpleasant feeling to her stomach. She couldn't tell if it was fear for what's to come or just gas that was building up until it was ready to be released. Oh she knew it had to be fear. Fear that she, Beast Boy, and the X-men may not win the battle. Then all hope would be lost. But Raven knew better then to think such negative thoughts. She was better then that. Even when things were looking grim and hopeless one must stand their ground and fight. In the words of David Bowie: 'We can be heroes. Just for one day.'

In Raven's case she was a girl who in the beginning thought she couldn't be a hero. She was afraid to go near people due to who she was; her insanely wicked powers controlled by her emotions. But that all changed because she took control of her own destiny. She made a choice to not be her father's pawn anymore. She would take a stand, for herself, her friends and her home.

All night she couldn't sleep as thoughts of tomorrow's battle ran through her head. There was no telling how this was going too play out; however, what she did know was evil would not triumph over good. Fortunately she'd never fall asleep at this rate. Who could blame her, a one-on-one battle between Malchior and herself was going to be more epic then their first battle. Only this time the stakes were higher for the fate of her comrades rest in her hands. It only makes sense that pressure would be building up inside of Raven. Turning into a heavy weight that was pushing her down. As hard as she struggled, Raven could not force herself back up in an upright position. All her organs were being crushed, it bacame difficult to breathe and heart was racing at an increasing rate. If this was actually happening Raven would be panicing but luckily it was not though it felt real. Sitting up Raven took a moment to catch her breathe, recap what she just felt before getting up for the bathroom.

In the bathroom Raven splashed cold water on her face. She needed to wake herself up after that little scare. Running the faucet on cold, splash after splash of cold water came in contact with her face. The immediate contact with the element sent goosebumps down her arms. The cold never bother her until now; but it wasn't just the cold that had gotten to her. Opening her mind too these emotions she kept locked up were certainly alerting her of their presence. If Raven could not regain control this would become a hazard during battle.

"Get it together don't lose control." Said Raven to herself, hands on her head as she was trying to keep it together. The additional pressure she did not need.

"I have to stop him, I can't let him win. My friends are counting on me." Raven said to herself bringing her head up to look in the mirror.

"Their lives are on the line. Even if I have help I won't let anyone down." "I will gain control, I will save my friends and I will stop Malchior."

The confidence she tried showing wasn't stepping out. Fear had taken a tight hold on her. This was a terrifying mission coming up and Raven wasn't feeling her usual self. She had to pull herself together before tomorrow or all Hell would break loose.

Sorry it's short and sorry for the long overdue wait. I've just been busy with college, work, helping people, getting my CNA, my grandmother passing and now Christmas coming up. I'll try to update sooner so nobody has to wait super long. Can't promise I'll be faster finishing a chapter because I'll most likely be getting into huge details as this story comes to a close.

I'm thinking...two chapters left. The final followed by the epilogue; thus making this story complete after all these years. I'll be sure too make the next/final chapter a thrilling battle followed by a heart touching conclusion. Please stay tune for the final chapters and don't forget to read and comment.
