"Is he going to be okay?" Scorpius heard someone say. He thought he recognised the voice as Albus's.
"Well, he has been hit with quite a big spell in his back and seeing as no one seems to know which spell it was, we are certain that those people invented their own spells, which makes coming up with a treatment very difficult for us." This person sighted for a second and continued: "He's doing very well actually and I still think he can suddenly wake up. His brain activity is normal actually and he might even hear us right now. I think he just needs time to wake up and it's only something he can do himself." This Healer - as Scorpius had concluded he was - had said some interesting things, but it wasn't as easy as the Healer said it was. He had forced himself to open up his eyes or to move, but he couldn't.
"My dad and aunt think Scorpius is in some sort of coma, but Muggles mostly die after being in a coma for a week or six. He's already been here half a year," Albus continued. Half a year? HALF A YEAR?! No, that wasn't possible, was it? He'd only been here for like, an afternoon right? Rose was doing worse then he was, so what was that supposed to mean? Could Rose be...No. She wasn't, he couldn't think like that. He needed to figure out how to get himself out of this coma and then he could finally check on Rose.
"Still no changes?" He heard a woman ask. It was his mother. Scorpius immediately felt remorse. He hadn't really told his parents why he was so invested in Rose's case and he had had some fights with his parents about it when they argued they didn't see him anymore. He just had said he had been busy with work and his father told him that babysitting wasn't a grown man's job. For Scorpius it hadn't been more than logical to end that argument by storming out, but now he regretted that a bit.
"No changes ma'am," Albus said silently. He heard his mother laugh.
"Albus, I've told you time and time again it's Astoria," she said sweetly and Scorpius heard Albus grin.
"I'll try to get it into my system," Albus said.
"Albus, I heard you told Healer Vance something about a...Muggle illness that is close to what Scorpius is dealing with?" It was his dad. There was no pain in his voice, he always managed to stay strong. Scorpius always wanted to be more like his dad, it suited his Auror job, but he was more like his mother, more emotionally invested in everything he did.
"Yeah, my dad and aunt Hermione were talking about it and they said that perhaps some Muggle medication could help him. The thing is that after being in a coma for a week or six, Muggles almost always die, but maybe because of Scorpius's wizard blood, he might be able to survive. I don't know, it's just a theory," Albus said. Scorpius liked that theory, he wanted to try everything in order to check up on Rose.
"Granger? Well of course, should've known she would come up with that," his father grinned.
"Granger-Weasley, actually, sir. She has been married to my uncle Ron for a million years next year," Albus said. That was quite a daring remark on his side, Scorpius thought. He actually had to laugh at this, wasn't it for the fact that he couldn't move and thus laugh, but he was satisfied when he heard his mother grin at it.
"Now, now, Draco, calm down. Let's just talk to the Healers about this and figure out whether they can do something with this information or not," his mother said and Scorpius could just feel her shaking her head. His dad and his strange remarks about Rose's mother - or as he called her 'Granger' - became more and more creepy the more he made them. Meh, it must be a family trait.

"WHY CAN'T I VISIT HIM?" Rose shouted. She had been in the hospital for the same amount of time that Scorpius had, even though she was able to leave it five months ago. In those five months she had managed to lock up almost everyone from the Knights of Walpurgis and to deal with at least fourteen different cases. Everyone who wanted her to rest was blown away by her argument that she had had enough rest and needed to help all the people who had counted on her. And, even though she never admitted this, she could use the distraction as she was going mad by only thinking what was happening to Scorpius. She wasn't in direct danger anymore and even though her father was always around, Rose was somewhat okay with that, considering that she just actually had been abducted. The people weren't very happy with her, even though she only did it to prove a point by saying that children of former Death Eaters aren't by definition bad people - at least, that was what she kept telling them. At a press conference she explained in a more general way what had happened - she was used by a revenge party when they tried to reclaim their power, but they failed - and said that the way they had been mistreating former Death Eaters who changed their ways and their children, these kind of parties would come up more often and eventually be successful. She told the people to have more faith in those people and that former Death Eaters aren't the same as they once were, so their children shouldn't have to suffer for the mistakes they made. Everything had calmed down a bit after that and her mother, as Minister of Magic, was talking to the other politicians to finalise new laws for everyone's safety.
So here she was, shouting again, even though she tried it every day, every day they didn't let her in. It would be too much of a shock, too much for him to handle plus too much for her to handle, but Rose knew better. After Lily had given birth to a son (they named him Arthur and grandpa was very proud), Rose had promised to torture Lily if she wouldn't tell her exactly what Scorpius had told her. And then she knew, she was in love with him, he was in love with her and they needed each other. Their fights and their hate was nothing more than a cliché thing called passion. She knew him better than anyone else did and so did he know her. Every time she had spied on him, only to discover his weak spots, she learned something knew about him. She knew how he talked about girls behind their backs. She knew he had shagged with almost everyone available, only to try to fill that hole in his heart. She knew he was most loyal to his friends and would do anything to help them. Anything. Even dying if it was the only solution. So she needed to speak with him and she needed to sort things out. All the fears she had about him when she was locked up flew away the minute she saw him through the windows of his room. She'd seen him again and all those feelings were there again.
Her other distraction to prevent herself from going mad, were her best friends. They were sort of on speaking terms, but that was that and the minute Rose woke up and she'd heard of this, she went to Helga.
"I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you, Helga, but you're not going through this alone! You both lost a baby, even though you were the one carrying it. Frank is just as hurt by this as you are, if not more as he lost his fiancé too," Rose had said to Helga and it was then that Rose realised that even though it wasn't her fault, but her friends had needed her and she wasn't there.
"I've missed you, Rose, and I was worried sick about you!" Helga said in response.
"But I'm here now and I'm bugging you again and this time you are taking my advice and you are going to have loads of make-up sex with Frank," Rose ridiculed. Helga started laughing and then crying. She was so confused about everything she didn't know how to feel anymore.
"It's going to be alright, Helga, and take one step at the time, but please include me in your way to getting better and please do also include Frank. Give him time too, because as much as he wants to be at your side again, he's hurt and he needs to know you're not going to shut him out again," Rose said, while hugging her friend.
"How is it possible that you know so much?" Helga said smiling.
"Well, I had my fair share of bad relationship drama happening to either me or someone in my family. I also read loads of books, plus I am the one and only daughter of Hermione Granger-Weasley. That should explain a lot," Rose said jokingly. She had finally managed to get Helga out of her bed and change into something nice.
"Amen to that, sister," Helga laughed. She picked out a few items from her closet.
"So you managed to get a reservation at one of the most expensive and luxurious restaurants for Frank and me, I don't think I want to know how, so please help me with what I should be wearing," Helga said. Her options were a classy black dress or a blue one that Frank had given her for her birthday one day.
"The blue one, otherwise you look like you're going to a funeral. And my ways weren't that extravagant as you think, okay? I just asked my uncle Harry," Rose said defensively.
""I just asked my uncle Harry" yeah sure Rose, I think everyone would love to have an uncle Harry like you," Helga shook her head while trying the dress on.
"Well, yeah, having Harry Potter as your uncle does have its benefits from time to time. Here, let me zip you up," Rose said. Helga turned around and went to look in the mirror.
"Go get him, honey," Rose whispered in her ear and Helga smiled. Finally she felt a bit more like herself again.

"Lily, I'm going with you to the hospital!" Rose exclaimed angrily. She had visited her cousin and heard she as going on a checkup with Arthur again, because she didn't want to risk the baby to become sick or something and the minute Rose had heard it, she knew she had to come along.
"No Rose, you are not! If you are, you're just going to make a run for it and visit Scorpius and who knows what will happen next. The Healers said no, Rose," Lily said as she fed Artur. They sat down at her couch that Lorcan had bought the other day - it had been way too expensive of course, but she couldn't refuse as he'd said that now they had Arthur, they needed to have the best of the best. She looked at Rose and she just knew she couldn't take her along with her, but she also recognised the look Rose had on her face. The look of confusion and love and not knowing what or how to feel.
"Okay, I have an idea, but you can't say anything to anyone, okay?" Lily said. Rose gave her a weird smile and they walked towards Lily's car. She wasn't able to apparate with Arthur so she had to use her car.
"Lily, what is happening?" Rose asked, but Lily didn't answer her, she just gave her Arthur.
"Hold him for me, will you? Be sweet and nice to him, he'll be nice to you too," Lily answered as she opened the door of her car for Rose. Lily herself sat down at the driver's seat and started the car. She hummed a bit from a Muggle band that she loved. She took a few rights and a few lefts and suddenly she stopped.
"Stay here," Lily said and she stepped out of the car. She walked a bit until Rose suddenly saw her grabbing an old umbrella that was lying there on the ground. Lily touched it and she was gone. Rose looked around and saw that they were completely in the middle of nowhere. There were some plants here and there, a bit of grass and some mud. It was obvious that the porkey Lily was taking wasn't one that anyone should be able to find. Suddenly Arthur started to cry.
"Shhhht, Arthur, shhht, everything is going to be okay, your mommy is going to be here in a sec...I hope," Rose said, while rocking Arthur softly. She touched his face, he grabbed her hair and pulled it.
"Autsj!" Rose exclaimed, but Arthur just laughed.
"You think that's funny, Arthur?" Rose said, while rubbing his stomach. The baby giggled even more now and Rose smiled. She wasn't ready to have her own baby, but this little boy sure was cute.
"Okay, I'm baaaa-haack!" Lily sing-songed. She gave Arthur a kiss on his head before starting the engine.
"Did you miss me baby boy?" she said sweetly, "I sure as hell missed you!"
"What did you do, Lily?" Rose asked, but Lily kept her mouth shut and just started humming again.
"Aren't you allowed yet to apparate, Lils?" Rose asked, deciding that if Lily wasn't going to tell her about her little plan, she needed to talk about something else.
"Yes and that is why Arthur and I are going to the hospital, because I want to know all the risk of baby-side-along-apparation and if we can use a porkey or not," Lily answered, but she started humming again before Rose could ask her any more questions. Rose zoned herself off, just keeping her eyes on Arthur and the road until they were suddenly at the hospital.
"Got a little something to borrow for you, Rose," Lily said and there it was. The strange cloak that uncle Harry always had laying around on a shelf in their cloak room.
"What on earth should I do with great-aunt Muriel's cloak?" Rose exclaimed and Lily shook of laughter.
"This is the cloak, Rosie-Posie," Lily said. She quickly grabbed Arthur from Rose's arms, before she would let him go in all her surprise.
"Wow, my mom and dad told me stories sometimes and I always asked wether they still owned the cloak. Whenever they would say 'no,' I didn't realise it was because uncle Harry owned it. But...you all knew about this?" Rose asked, looking dazzling at the cloak. This was the invisibility cloak and the best there was. This was the cloak from the stories, old and new ones.
"Yeah...we kinda always knew...I mean, James stole it this one time and brought it to Hogwarts to do some new pranks," Lily continued and laughed.
"Argh, you Potters," Rosie grumbled. She knew what this meant. All the times that she'd asked herself how Albus suddenly got somewhere or how James could've pulled a prank off without anyone knowing how he did so, it was because they had this cloak? And they hadn't shared it with their family? Traitors.
"He, Rose, don't argue with us Potters because we do give the cloak to our very-very-nice-and-hopelessly-in-love-with-a-Malfoy Weasley cousins," Lily said, but Rose just looked more confused.
"Did you tell your father? Uncle Harry? Nonononono, please say you didn't do that!" Rose exclaimed.
"What? I didn't tell anything he didn't already know and I can't just go and steal my father's cloak while I have a history of disappearing, can I?" Lily answered logically. She was right, of course she was right.
"Well I better hurry then, before my father will beat Scorpius awake..." Rose mumbled. Lily smiled, wished her good luck and walked away. Rose looked around her - surely people would notice if someone would just vanish from the streets - and put the cloak on her. Wow. This was strange. She could just spy on everyone without them knowing. Wow. Okay. She had to focus. Hospital. Scorpius. Finally. Maybe just trying her little tradition again. It was sad to call it a tradition, but this time she didn't mind them saying no, it would only mean for her that no one would actually follow her.

Scorpius had just been thinking that his excitement for the day was over - a lady who had screamed that "VISITING HOURS ARE OVER FOR THIS FLOOR!" had interrupted his thoughts - but little did he realised it was just getting started. He heard someone opening his room and two people were coming in - as he had just been listening and listening for such a long time, after trying to wake up without that happening, he had just been trying to improve his Auror-skills.
"She tries it every day, doesn't she?" someone said, while mumbling some spells. Scorpius felt himself lifting up. They were changing his sheets again.
"It's actually somewhat romantic, from what I've heard of it. He saved her from that weird political party that abducted her and she woke up before him. Apparently the first thing she did was asking where he was, which her father didn't seem to like as a greeting," the other said. Scorpius grinned thinking about the way Rose would try to explain that to her dad. As Scorpius had noticed in the years he had come over to Albus's house and had experienced his family, Rose wasn't one to hold back her thoughts - not even to her dad. They clashed as much as they connected. Whenever the subject of a relationship came up in the family - and it didn't matter who would bring it up - her father always tried to cover her ears and exclaimed that "Rosie is just a strong independent woman who doesn't need a man and sure as hell would never date." Rose would just stand up and say she was lesbian anyways, which would leave her father with his mouth open, every time it happened.
Then he realised something. He had actually been her first thought when she'd woken up. She had tried to visit him every day and they wouldn't let her? If possible, Scorpius even fell more in love with her than he already was. He knew what his father would say. He would argue that he didn't even know Rose that well and how could he fall in love with her without even knowing her. No, he would only do it to irritate him, his father would say. However this time, Scorpius knew what to say. He did know Rose. He knew her from the moment his father had set him up to meet his cousin-or-something Edward - who immediately asked him to call him Teddy. Harry Potter had been there, as he was Teddy's godfather and he thought it would be easier if Scorpius would have some children of the same age there, which was why Albus was there. Under loud protest of Ron, Rose had been there too. Not for long though, as Rose had been as stubborn as her father. She'd seen him and as soon as she realised he didn't have the same ginger hair as her family, she said: "Your hair is ridiculously white," and he had answered: "Your hair is ridiculously orange," and that was the end of that - at least, that is what their parents thought. They had seen each other more than they had wanted to and saw each other growing up. Plus, Albus had the crazy goal of them becoming friends one day, which was how Scorpius got to know the fact that Rose hated roses just like Lily hated lilies and that she snored softly in her sleep.
Lost in his thoughts, Scorpius hadn't realised the cleaners had left his room until his room opened up again and he didn't hear someone leaving or entering. Confused by this, Scorpius tried to listen more carefully. Why couldn't he just wake up? This was torture!
But then. Suddenly. First he heard something falling, then he felt an hand touching his arm. A little bit later he heard the voice he had longed to hear for so long.
"Scorpius, wake up," she whispered. He didn't know what exactly it was that made his body responding so quickly to her voice. Finally he could open his eyes and he finally saw her. She wasn't looking at him directly. She looked beautiful, even though she had tears in his eyes.
"Hi Rose," he answered her hoarsely.
