AN- So close to 200 reviews, can we make it? Oh there is a little time skip of about 3 months. I would love to write all the tedious details…well but that would take too long.

This is also a bit of a short chapter, but I thought of writing it in two parts and that way I can update faster.

Enjoy this chapter!

On the couch sat Anakin smiling happily down at Padme, who apparently was quite happy sitting on his lap. Both feeding each other pieces of fruit.

Obi-Wan cleared his throat and spoke, "well it's good to see you both on better terms. May I ask what brought this on?"

Both startled by his appearance turned towards him, but did not get up.

"Just a little advice from an old friend."

The confusion must have shown on the jedi master's face, but the lovers only smiled at one another at their little secret.

Not in on their little secret, Obi-Wan decided to move on, "Well, I guess we have much planning to do."

Padme nodded.

"But most importantly, not we wait."

Not Unexpected but Uncertain

It had been three months for the trio. Three blissful, yet anticipatory months of waiting, watching, and bonding.

For Anakin and Obi-Wan, things were not yet what they use to be. There was the occasional bouts of darkness from the younger man. Urges of the dark side that beckoned Anakin with its sweet allure, but the jedi master was always there to guide the young man back into the path of light.

As for Anakin and Padme, peace was the only word that described what the former sith lord was feeling. It had been fifteen years of loneness, self-loathing and hatred that made him the bitter man he was, but Padme, sweet Padme was a balm of soothing essence that calmed him like no other.

And that was why he feared.

Nothing good ever lasted for the former sith lord. Everything always fell apart. He was tired of hoping that good things would stay that way…..good.

But they never did.

He even had proof.

First he was a slave. He had gotten free, but the price he had to pay was the restriction, ridicule and isolation the jedi temple offered him in exchange. And his mother…..

Then he was announced the position of jedi knight…for the price of his hand.

Finally, Padme. His beloved wife was killed….by him. And the irony of it all was that he wanted to save her. In the end, he killed her, their babies, and their future and hopes…all in one night.

And the temple that he was raised in…lied in ruins by his own hands and voice.

Anakin had enough memories and experience to fear the future, and he did so without reservation.

"Ani," Padme mumbled sleepily on his chest, her eyes trying to regain focus from sleep as she gazed up to him. Her small hand reached out to cradle his face, "What's got you brooding so early in the morning?"

He couldn't help but smile down at her. His angel. The fears and troubles seem to melt away, just by her touch and concern. But they would come again, they always would. But for now, he would embrace the serenity that his wife gave him.

"Nothing…..just thinking."

'Oh no, that's never good," she teased.

He just smiled back.

"But really, what's bothering you?"

"…just the past, but its nothing to get worried over."

She looked skeptically at him.

"honestly." He replied sincerely. He didn't want to bother her with these fears. They were what brought them down the first time. HE wouldn't let it happen though and tried not to dwell on those morbid thought. Today started out good, and he wanted it to remain so.

Padme continued to eye him, but decided against questioning him more and yawned while snuggling next to him.

"You're still tired? It's already noon."

"Well, someone kept me awake for most of the night."

"Then it's a good thing you have a day off today, is it not?" he said while stroking her mahogany locks.

"yes noon...…..wait noon!" she turned to him, "aren't you supposed to be meeting Obi-Wan right now?"

"Eh, he can wait a bit."

"Anakin," she gave him a disapproving frown.

"How am I supposed to go when my," he kissed her forehead, "beautiful wife is," her nose, "pinning me down?" then her lips in a delightful caress. Padme could only melt into his embrace but had just enough willpower to push his back a bit.

"Anakin," she chided. "Go, don't make your Obi-Wan wait. It's rude." Pushing his from the bed as emphasis.

"Fine, fine," he retorted stretching his muscles as a yawn of his own escaped him. Out of the corner of his eyes, Padme was unbashfully ogling his physique and he chuckled as she blushed at being caught.

"You know I can always cancel my meeting and we could-"

"No," she pointed towards the door, "go now, before I really do jump you."

"I wouldn't min-"

"Anakin!"

"Alright, alright." He placated as he left the room chuckling.

Yes, life was good for now, but for how long.

Something was going to happen. Anakin knew it would….but what?

"You know you were supposed to be here an hour ago?"

"Well, Obi-Wan, we can't all be the perfect. Plus, I was busy."

The older man eyed the former sith lord, giving him the look.

"Busy with what? Or with whom?" the jedi master countered.

"I think you're old enough to know the answer."

Obi-Wan sighed in exasperation but couldn't help a small smile. Relations with Anakin and him were much better than they were at the beginning. Not all was perfect, but they were getting there. And who would have thought that the senator would have such a positive effect for his former padawan.

Just seeing the two together made Obi-Wan start to question to question if relation with others was such a bad thing, but what had happened with Anakin in the original time line…..that still made Obi-Wan hesitant to accept it as a good thing. Only time will tell for this timeline.

But for his former student, he would accept it.

The duo walked in companionable silence through the jedi temples, soaking in the illusion of peace within the temple walls contrary to the raging war in the galaxy. In here, they could just be.

Obi-Wan enjoyed the serenity, but one glance at the ridged posture of the younger man made him turn to look upon what the source of his discomfort was.

Master Yoda and Master Windu.

The ancient grand Jedi master and the Korun master both nodded in greeting but did not continue on. Much to Anakin's irritation, they approached the duo.

"Master Yoda, Master Windu," Obi-Wan greeted respectfully with a bow. Anakin on the other hand nodded stiffly, but that was all.

Master Windu frowned at this, but did not comment. Instead he turned to Obi-Wan and addressed the older man.

"Master Kenibi," he greeted back. "How do you two feel?"

"As well as one can be in this chaotic universe."

Master Yoda nodded sagely in agreement, "troubling, this war has been. The end, we can only hope will come soon."

"Yes, soon…..but what comes with it, we can only hope will be good." Obi-Wan replied cryptically seeming to be lost in his own thoughts. Anakin frowned at this but remained silent.

"Master Kenobi?" Mace Windu asked questioningly.

"Oh what," the red-haired man snapped out of his thoughts. "Apologies, I was lost in my own thoughts. With the war and everything, well, I find myself second-guessing and questioning many things."

The ancient jedi nodded again in agreement. "For us all, difficult it is. Test us all, this war does."

"And that is a matter we came to discuss with you today."

"And what matter would that be?" questioned Obi-Wan.

"Are you and Knight Skywalker fit enough for duty? It has been more than three months since you voiced out your concerns over Knight Skywalker's health," Mace Windu spoke, directly towards Obi-Wan. Beside him, Anakin fumed angrily that he was spoken of without being referred to.

Noticing this, the red haired man tried to include the volatile younger man. "We understand, but after the last incident with the both of us," Obi-Wan glanced towards Anakin silently asking him to continue.

Anakin obliged with a bit too much force than was necessary, "No. We are not going back to that krif-" Obi-Wan shot him a warning look, "war."

Another disapproving look was directed towards the jedi knight. "And why? As it is, you have been granted far much longer leave than other jedi Knights. Master Kenobi even insisted on staying for the well-being of your health. He was quite….insistent."

Anakin tensed. How dare them! Thinking that he was some kind of insolent brat!

He could care less about being a jedi right now. He had done that, and look where it had led him!

Miserable and alone, that's what!

"I-" but Obi-Wan cut him off.

"I'm afraid that even if we are well enough to go to back, we cannot." Obi-Wan decided to take a chance and divulge the tiniest bit of information, hoping to placate the masters.

"What it is, you mean?" Questioned the grand jedi master.

"The force. It has told us that we must wait."

"Wait?" was the incredulous reply of the Korun master.

"Yes. I know this sounds unreasonable, but we cannot tell you any details other than events will soon be happening and we must wait and prepare for them." Obi-Wan knew it was a vain hope in giving so little information, but the fallout that would occur if they told too much information would be...disastrous.

"Prepare and wait, hmmmm? Prepare for what, do you know?"

"That is for us alone to know," was Anakin's reply.

Both Obi-Wan and Anakin had agreed in the beginning that they would not divulge the council with anything. The excuse they were currently using was that Anakin needed the proper rest from the war, with Obi-Wan aiding his recovery. But it seemed that now the council was getting a bit restless…

Again mace Windu frowned at the former sith. "Skywalker, you should know well to address masters with respect."

Anakin had to bite back the quick retort he had about respect. The only satisfactory thought he had was the death of the Korun master, though not by his hand.

Peaceful thoughts, Anakin. Think about Padme. Her smile, her eyes, her slender hips and-no, keep it respectable Skywalker...damn I want to go home... thought Anakin to himself.

"I know this is difficult to believe, but please trust me." Obi-Wan implored.

The grand master held his gaze with Obi-Wan for several moments before finally nodding, "For now, trust in you, I will." That got Anakin's attention again.

The red haired man let out a sigh of gratitude. Anakin nodded along. "Thank you, Master Yoda." It had actually worked. Obi-Wan didn't know how but he mentally thanks the force.

"But master yod-"

"Many things, the force is, trust in it, we will."

"…..very well. Master Kenobi, Knight Skywalker." Mace windu nodded and followed the diminutive grand master away."

"Well that wasn't so bad." Obi-Wan happily chirped.

"Define bad," scowled the former sith.

"At least you didn't attack anyone."

"…..let's just go."

"Agreed."

Padme watched her husband walk out the room, unashamed of his glorious naked physique.

These past months….were incredible.

It was the first time in their marriage that they could be together for more than a day or a few hours. It was as if this was all a dream that Padme had thought up. But no, the intimacy, love and affection that Anakin lavished her these past months made her feel like the most beautiful and cherished woman in the universe.

If only it would last.

But things always changed. For the better, she didn't know. But she could only hope.

Rolling over her side, Padme let out a sigh. She really was still tired. Anakin wasted no time or effort in being with her, whether it was emotionally or physically.

That man had stamina.

With another yawn, Padme sat up. Stretched. Then lurched towards the fresher…and promptly paid homage to the porcelain goddess.

Again.

It had happened again.

Padme had hoped that this was some overnight bug, but no, this had been continuing for close to a week now. The only small grace that Padme was given was that her sickness all occurred when Anakin was gone….

Wait a minute.

Sickness.

Tiredness.

Could she be?

It was possible.

Was it really?

They hadn't exactly been too careful. And she did say that she had wanted this.

A baby….no babies.

Might she be….pregnant?

There was only one way to fine out.

Gathering her robes and walking to her dresser she called out to the golden droid.

"3PO, I'm going on a small trip."

Tottering into the room the droid spoke, "oh? Where to mistress?"

"Just know that I'll be out for an hour or two."

"But, but shouldn't I at least accompany yo-" fretted the droid.

"It's alright. I'll be fine. I'll be back before three."

"Are you sure you'll be okay without me?"

"Yes," she assured the droid once more. Then muttered to herself, "Anakin on the other hand….."

There was only one way to know.

AN-More Yoda plus Windu. I admit, I always worry with yoda. He's a bit tricky to write, but also fun. I always repeat the phrase I want in my head or out loud, then kind of write it in reverse.
