Chapter 21
It was now ending their first year of college. It had seemed to pass in the blink of an eye.
"It's finals," Zack yelled as he entered the student union with the others for lunch.
They all ordered their own sandwiches and sat down to eat.
"Don't sound so happy about that," Kim said.
"Finals mean that we're one step closer to summer," Zack replied.
He took a huge bite from his burger, causing Kim to roll her eyes and smile.
"Unless you're taking summer classes," Jason interjected.
Zack almost choked on the food in his mouth.
"Hell no," he said after making sure his mouth was empty.
"Agreed," Tommy said. "I want to enjoy my summer after surviving my first year of college."
"There's someone who will be taking summer classes I'm sure," Trini replied.
They all turned to Billy. He looked up and shook his head.
"I actually am," Billy told them.
"Of course," Zack said.
They all started laughing.
"Hey, if you want to graduate in four years, you have to," Billy replied.

Rita's palace on the moon was shaking as if there was an earthquake. All you hear was Squat and Baboo screaming. Goldar hit them over their heads, quieting them.
"What's going on?" Goldar asked when everything finally stopped shaking.
"This can only mean one thing," Rita said.
The others took noticed that her voice was quivering. This scared them because nothing usually frightened Rita.
"What is this?" Squat asked.
"He's here," Rita said.
After a moment's thought, Goldar knew who Rita was talking about.
"No, not him," Goldar replied.
He looked towards the entrance of the throne room.
"You don't mean…" Baboo started, but he stopped s they heard the sound of footsteps approaching.
"Don't look so surprised to see me," a voice said.
The figure came into appearance. He was nothing but red all over.
"Lord Zedd," Rita said.
The bowed to him.
"My Lord. What an honor," Goldar replied.
Zedd laughed and sat in Rita's chair.
"I've been told you've been having trouble with some teenagers," he said.
"They're helped by Zordon," Rita told him.
"That old fool has always been in our way. Not anymore," Zedd replied.

Zordon had called everone to the Command Center. He and Alpha had felt the energy when Zedd had arrived on the moon.
"Zordon, what is it?" Jason asked.
"I'm afraid that Zedd has returned," Alpha told them.
They all looked at each other in confusion, not knowing who this was.
"Who is he? Rita's boss?" Zack asked.
"Yes, I believe that is the term you would use," Zordon said.
The alarms then went up. The Rangers turned to the Viewing Globe to find a monster attacking.
"And it looks like he's going to test us," Tommy said.
They all morphed to face Zedd's monster. However, it was not as easy as before. This was certainly one of the hardest monsters they had been up against. They immediately called upon their Zords. After a while, something went wrong.
"What's going on?" Trini asked.
"I hate saying this, but we're overheating," Billy said.
They began to shake violently.
"Can you do something about it?" Jason asked.
"Not while we're fighting," Billy told him.
"Get out," Zack yelled.
They were able to jump out of their Zords before they were destroyed.
"No," Kim gasped.
She buried her head in Tommy's shoulder. They had all been demorphed when they had hit the ground.
"This can't be happening," Trini replied.
"We need to get back to the Command Center," Jason told them.
Back at the Command Center, they watched as the city was being destroyed.
"There's has to be something we can do," Zack said.
He paced back and forth.
"Rangers, Alpha and I have been prepared for this," Zordon told them. They all looked at each other in confusion. "You must use new Zords. Tommy's Tigerzord has not been compromised."
"That's good to hear," Tommy replied.
They returned to battle with their new Zords and defeated the monster not long after that.

Billy was staying over at Mark's that night after the battle. It seemed everyone needed to blow off some steam from the news Zedd appearing. Kim took advantage of the empty apartment and had Tommy over. Tommy woke up during the night with a gasp, sweating.
"Tommy, what's wrong?" Kim asked.
He shook his head as he wiped his forehead.
"Nothing, just a nightmare," Tommy told her.
"You want to talk about it?" Kim asked.
"I'm sure it's nothing, but it just felt so real," Tommy replied.
"What is it? You can tell me," Kim said, placing a hand on Tommy's shoulder.
"This Zedd guy, he means business," Tommy said.
Kim wrapped an arm around Tommy.
"We'll fight him just like we've fought Rita," she told him.
When he looked at her, she had a smile on her face.
"Since when have you been the optimist?" Tommy asked, returning the smile.
"I've learned a few things from this guy I know," Kim said, leaning in and kissing him.
