Hey, Hey, Hey! New chapter guys. Hope you enjoy it.
Let's play *Spot the Special Youtuber Guest*
Dan's P.O.V
"Oh Carrie, this is Flynn."
The guy, whom Gary had introduced as Flynn, smiled shyly.
"Actually, my name is Pete. Gary seems to think that I resemble Flynn Rider, from Tangled. Ever since the movie has come out he's been telling me I look like Flynn, or calling me Flynn."
"You do look like Flynn." Carrie noted.
"You remind me of Rapunzel." Pete said, his attention focused solely on Carrie. I slipped my hand into Phil's, and together with Chris, Pj and even Gary; we watched as the two chatted.
"Most people say I look like Merida, from Brave."
"I can see that. But it's mainly the hair that shows that. Your presence, your eyes..."
"Your smile." Pete added, and no one could miss Carrie's grin.
"I'm no expert." Chris said, leaning in closer to the four of us. "But I think they're flirting."
"I think that's a pretty fair guess." Gary said, smiling.
"She hasn't even drunk her coffee yet." Phil noted.
"And yet she's wide awake now." I finished, winking.
We all laughed, and it was then that I truly felt part of the group.
It was clear that Gary was the type of person who could flit in or out of a group as easy as he pleases. And Carrie was easily hitting it off with Pete.
But I was comfortable in the group. They had accepted me, some guy they literally didn't know a month ago, and I had made three new, amazing friends. Life-long friends. Which should have been weird, really. I mean, I'd sort of just slipped into the group; and I was practically stealing their friend away from them. Phil was leaving the holiday he had started, with them, to come home with me. And they were perfectly fine with it.
It should have been weird, but somehow...it wasn't.
I muttered that to Phil; as Carrie and Pete continued their conversation, and Pj and Chris got to know Gary better.
"I suppose it's a bit weird." Phil admitted. "But it would suck if everything was normal, wouldn't it?"
"Yeah. And we're not exactly normal..."
"Exactly. I think we're happier being weird than we would be if we we're normal. Normalness leads to sadness, and I'd rather be with you, and be weird and be happy, than be a normal person and sad all the time."
"I agree completely." I said, kissing him quickly.
Phil said it perfectly...weird as it may be, I wouldn't change anything. I wouldn't have it any other way.
"Hey Gary, we're all on holiday, but Dan and I are leaving in 2 days; so we're all kind of making the most of the time we have left. Seeing as Carrie and Pete have hit it off so well...do you want to meet up later? We could all go out to dinner or something...get to know each other better." Phil suggested.
Gary nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds great. Pete and I came down for the weekend, but we never thought we'd run into you guys. And, I'd feel bad taking them away from each other." He nodded over at the pair, who had begun enthusiastically talking about who knows what.
"There's a cafe/restaurant type-thing not that far from here. We'll make a reservation for tonight, is that cool with you?"
"Yeah. Carrie has my number, so just get her to text me with the time." Gary smiled and headed over to where Carrie and Pete were talking. We watched as he poked Pete, talking to him and assumedly explaining what we had decided.
Carrie nodded, hugging Gary and waving to Pete. Pete had a soppy smile on his face as he watched Carrie walk over to us, and I noted Carrie wearing a similar smile. We were walking back to the hotel with our drunk/cold coffee, when I heard someone, Pete, call out.
"See you tonight, Zel."
"Reservations are made for 7pm. Carrie, could you let Gary know?"
"Carrie."
"Carrie!"
"Huh? Sorry Chris, I didn't hear you."
"Oh, talking to Flynn, are we?"
"No, I wasn't..."
"She's blushing. She's definitely talking to him." Phil said, laughing.
"Phil, I thought at least you would be on my side."
"I'm on neutral ground, but Carrie, I have to ask."
"Yes, Dan?"
"Why does he call you Zel?"
"I believe that I can answer this question." Chris interjected.
"Chris, shut up."
"Our lovely Flynn, calls our dear Carrie, Zel; because he reminds her of Rapunzel."
"Chris, I swear to..."
"It's okay Carrie. We all know it's true."
Carrie was speechless, her cheeks flushed red. We all giggled a little bit; it was kind of adorable to see her like this.
"I'm going to get ready. And if I hear any comments, Chris, I will not hesitate to hit you with pillows." Carrie stated, walking off into the direction of the bathroom.
"Is it just me, or are they actually sort of cute." I asked.
"They're very cute." Phil agreed.
Chris and Pj nodded, turning to the corner of their rooms where their suitcases were. I realized another thing, in that moment.
"Phil...We don't have spare clothes to change into."
"Crap."
"We've got some spare things in here." Pj said. "If you want to borrow something."
"That would be awesome, thanks."
Phil ended up in a pair of Chris' jeans and Pj's shirt. My jeans were still clean, so I only had to borrow a shirt from Chris.
"I'm not pushing in on anyone's...territory. But our clothes seem to suit you guys better than us." Chris said, once we were all dressed.
"I think you look great." Pj said, pulling Chris towards him, one hand around his waist. They seemed to instantly meld into each other. Perhaps that's what Phil and I look like when we kiss. Maybe that's just what happens when two people are comfortable around each other and in the relationship.
"Bathroom's free, if anyone needs to use it." Carrie said, walking out in a black and flower print dress, grey tights and black flats.
"Though, I don't know if we'll need to bring Chris and Pj to dinner. They look a bit busy." She added, winking over at us.
"Carrie Fletcher, you're like the annoying sister I never wanted." Chris said, pulling away from Pj. Pj kept his arm around Chris' waist; and Chris' head fell onto Pj's shoulder.
"And yet..." She said, walking over to Chris and patting his cheek affectionately. "You still love me."
"I don't love you." Chris said, indignantly.
"I wouldn't be here if you didn't." Carrie said, turning to the small mirror and fluffing her hair up.
"Your friends are incredible." I told Phil, stealing a quick kiss from him.
"They're our friends now." He said, pecking my cheek.
