Fifty Shades of Bruce Banner
Chapter 21: Italy Part 3
Summary: After the battle with Loki, Bruce and Natasha decide to go to Italy together.
Enjoy! I don't own these characters although I wish I did…
As the two walked hand and hand back to the hotel room and took in all the sights and sounds of the city. The light bounced off of Natasha's red hair and Bruce never thought that she looked more beautiful. He had a small crush on her but of course he could never tell her. She was someone who was out of his league first of all. She was beautiful and deadly at the same time. She could kill someone thirty different ways before someone even give her a weapon. (Sometimes he wished that he never asked Barton some questions.) Natasha probably didn't even like him like that. He wasn't someone that many girls were head over heels for; Bruce was pretty sure Betty didn't even love him that hard.
"Whatcha thinking about?" Natasha asked as they came to a stop in front of a water fountain.
"Nothing important. Did you want to do something before we went back to the room?"
Before Natasha could answer, a soft melody of music started playing a few feet away from them. Many of the couples that were walking by the man and woman with the violins stopped and started to dance. Natasha's eyes lit up and Bruce thought of something.
"Would you like to dance?"
"Are you sure?"
"Of course. Come on we're on vacation." Before the red head could answer Bruce slowly pulled her with him closer to the musicians. Once they were in a comfortable spot, not too close to anyone else but close enough to the musicians to hear, Bruce slowly put his other hand on the Russian's waist and pulled her a little closer to him. Nat put her other hand on his shoulder and smiled softly at the doctor.
"I didn't know you were a dancer."
"I picked up a thing or two from my mother."
Without saying anything to each other, the two fell into a comfortable silence and continued to dance. Natasha was falling for the doctor. Not that she would ever tell him. The only person that knew of her crush on the doctor was Clint, since he was her best friend. Bruce didn't want someone like her, a killer. No he wanted someone like Betty. Someone who wouldn't even hurt a fly.
While she was in her thoughts, they didn't know that a crowd had formed around them. It didn't matter though, the two were lost in each other's eyes to know anything that was around them. Bruce dipped Natasha just as the song came to an end. The two snapped out of looking into each other's eyes when they heard everyone around them clapping.
Slowly Bruce leaned Nat back up but kept his hand on her waist as they thanked everyone and started in the direction to their hotel.
"You were amazing." Natasha said as they walked slowly.
"As you were. I didn't know you could dance."
"Well when I was in the Red Room they taught us ballet. That was about the only enjoyable thing that has happened to me when I was there. Bruce nodded his head as he didn't want to push to issue any further. Soon they were in front of the hotel and being the gentleman he is Bruce held the door open for her.
They walked to the elevator and rode up to their room in comfortable silence. Once they reached the room the doctor took his key out and opened the door for them to go through.
"You can have the bathroom first."
"Thank you." The red head disappeared behind the door with her bag. She sighed as she when through she went through her bag and got her PJ's out, makeup wipes, and toothbrush and toothpaste. She first removed the makeup from off her face before washing her face clean. She then brushed her teeth before changing into her night clothes. Once she was done she folded her dress neatly before placing it with her other used clothes and exited the bathroom. When she left the bathroom she found the doctor sitting on the bed with a smile on his face, looking at his phone.
"Tony sent me a video of Steve trying to dance for the first time." Bruce explained as he restarted the video for her to see, as she walked to sit next to him on the bed. Natasha has never found anything more hilarious in her life then a man out of time trying to dance in a new generation.
"Tell Tony I said thanks for the new blackmail." Nat said as she doubled over with laughter. Bruce handed her the phone as he excused himself to the bathroom. Quickly he changed into his night clothes and brushed his teeth before walking back out to the room. The Russian had placed his phone on the charger and was flipping through the television guide trying to find something to watch.
"I sent the video to myself so I can blackmail Steve in the future."
"Ha ha of course."
"So anything you want to watch?"
"No you can find something. I was going to finish up my book." The two settled into comfortable silence as they sat next to each other on the bed, with Bruce reading his book and Natasha playing little mind to the television as she read something off of her phone.
It was passed midnight when they decided to call it a night and they both settled into a deep, peaceful sleep for the first time in a long time.
They both won't admit it to each other, but having each other sleeping in the same bed may have had something to do with the peaceful sleep.
