It's gonna get a little angsty guys just when you thought it couldn't get any worse? Well...it sort of does. DONT HATE ME PLEASE! IT WILL ALL PAY OFF IN THE END!
Finn is sitting out on Kurt's fire escape and Rachel and Kurt watch him from the inside. "He looks so sad, I never thought I could see a person be so sad before."Kurt says.
"It's been 7 hours he's been sitting out there and he won't even talk or look at me."Rachel says
"Don't be so hard on yourself. Finn's been through hell and back but he always manages to push through it right."Kurt says Rachel shakes her head "I hope he does..."Rachel says softly.
Later on in the night Rachel sits up from the couch and sees Finn finally walking back inside she gets up and wraps the blanket around him.
"We should probably go to the hospital...have them redo your cast."Rachel says Finn looks down and nods then sits on the down. Rachel sits on his lap and wraps her arms around him. "Talk to me."Rachel whispers.
"And Say what."Finn says quietly Rachel looks at his face "Anything...how you feel? What you're thinking...what happens next."Rachel says Finn looks at her and kisses her forehead.
"It's like you said Rach..every thing changes now."Finn says Rachel gives him a confused look and lays her head on his shoulder and drifts off to sleep Finn faces her and strokes her cheek.
The next day Finn Rachel and Kurt walk around New York City and take in the city Kurt shows them around the town and Rachel smiles she gets a phone call from the Agency and she walks away to take the call.
"I know you're hurting right now and if there's anything I can do for you..let me know..Rachel wants more than anything to help you Finn. You gotta stop pushing her away."Kurt says Finn looks at him and then drinks his water. Kurt sees a look in Finn's eyes and then he turns around to make sure Rachel is still on the phone.
"Whatever you're thinking...don't"Kurt says Finn looks up at him
"Kurt it's for the best.."Finn says
"No it's not Finn pushing Rachel away because of this doesn't make sense...why would you even think to let go of the only good thing you have in your life right now?"Kurt says
"Exactly that Kurt...where do I even go from here now? Knowing that my entire childhood was a lie and I'll never know who my real parents are. Rachel doesn't deserve this pain she shouldn't have to suffer because I am. She got her dream she's gonna move here to New York and be the big star she's always dreamed of and I'll be out of her way trying to figure out what to do next."Finn says
"Do you realize how much that girl loves you? She wants to marry you one day Finn. I know you're hurting...but you'll only hurt yourself more if you do this."Kurt says Finn shakes his head.
"I've already felt pain Kurt...after this..I'm pretty sure I wont be able to hurt anymore."Finn says Kurt shakes his head at him.
"You don't say a word to her. You let her hate me all she wants. It'll be better that way so she can have a happier life."Finn says
"You're an idiot Finn."Kurt says Finn shrugs and then Rachel comes back and then kisses Finn on the cheek she smiles and Finn holds her hand tightly.
"I'll see you two in the morning so I can take you to the airport."Kurt says as they walk back into the loft Rachel nods "Are you sure you're gonna be okay with me moving in here in a couple months?"Rachel smiles
"Of course my best friend moving to New York with me we're gonna take the city by storm."Kurt smiles Rachel smiles and holds Finn's hand
"All three of us will."She smiles widely Kurt looks over at Finn and he stays quiet as he kisses Rachel's forehead she smiles and wraps her arms around his waist and lasy her head on his chest. Finn looks over at Kurt and Kurt rolls his eyes at him. "Good night guys."Kurt says and walks into his room.
Rachel lays down on Finn's chest and kisses his cheek. "I love you."Rachel says Finn runs his fingers through her hair "I love you more than you'll ever know."Finn says Rachel holds his hand and kisses his palm. "I know things are hard for you right now and I wish I could take the pain away...but I am here for you Babe."Rachel says Finn wipes her tears and holds her tight.
"Go to sleep okay..."Finn whispers Rachel nods and closes her eyes tears fall down Finn's eyes and he quickly wipes them "I dont ever want to hurt you Rachel..but I have to do this..."Finn says to himself
~At Lima~ Rachel tells her family everything that has happened and Will runs his fingers through his hair "Im gonna go talk to him."Will says and walks down to the basement he fins Finn sitting on his cot holding his head in his hands Will closes the door and sits next to Finn and puts his hand on his shoulder.
"You know Finn when I first met you...I didn't even have to ask you what was wrong...your eyes told me the whole story. You were in pain and you needed to go somewhere safe. Go to a place that felt like Home so I did everything in my power to make sure that this place was like a haven for you. I made sure that you could feel safe in this house."Will says
"Yeah you did one hell of a job. You and Mrs. S were the parents I never had."Finn says "We can still be that family for you Son. I know you're hurting and I wish I had the answers for you but you just gotta take it one day at a time..the pain will go away eventually."Will says Finn looks at him and then looks down
"What's going on in your head son?"Will asked Finn sighs " I know I promised you that I would never ever hurt Rachel and believe me I would rather die than see her cry, but all of her dreams are coming true right now and if she stays with me she'll lose sight of what she wants."Finn says Will looks at him and just listens carefully.
"I've decided to go away for a while get some clarity...I don't know how long I'll be gone."Finn says looking into his palms Will wipes his eyes and nods his head.
"And where does that leave Rachel..you were just telling me two weeks ago that you wanted a future with her."Will says
"If you hadn't noticed any ounce of happiness or hope that is given to me is taken away in a mere second I'd be doing her a favor."Finn says
"She loves you Finn."Will says
"She'll move on..."Finn says
"But will you? A love like yours and my daughter's doesnt come around so easily Finn..I get that you're lost and angry with the world but she's what makes you happy."Will says
"All the more reason for me to give her up...I don't expect you to agree with this decision...but my mind is made up."Finn says
"When will you leave."Will asked Finn looks at him "As soon as I break up with Rachel."Finn says
~A few days later Finn had become distant from everyone no one knew why except for Will and Kurt~
Rachel and Tina are in her room talking about the New York trip and their laughs die down "How's Finn?"Tina asked
"He won't even talk to me about what he's feeling since we got back he's been busy at the shop which is good helps him keep his mind off of things."Rachel says
"I wish I knew how we could all help, He seems so lost right now."Tina says
"I think us moving to New York would be a nice start for him, Lima just has too many bad memories for him."Rachel says
"He's agreed to leave with you?"Tina says
"I'm sure thats the plan, I mean we haven't talked about it lately but he knows that I cant do this without him."Rachel says
"He's luck to have you Rachel. I mean right now you're the only thing that's giving him happiness."Tina says
"I promised myself that I would always make him happy no matter what."Rachel smiles they hear a knock on the door "Come in.."Rachel says Finn comes inside and Tina smiles
"Hey Finn."She says Finn waves at her and looks at Rachel. "I'll give you two some alone time."Tina says and closes the door Rachel smiles at Finn and he sits at the foot of the bed "Where have you been all day? I tried calling you during your lunch break."Rachel says
"I wasn't at the auto shop I put in my resignation letter a few days ago."Finn says Rachel looks at him confused "What do you mean?...you're saying you quit? So where have you been going the past few days?"Rachel asked
"Making arrangements..I made enough money from the auto shop to pay back your parents for the hospital bills and I cancelled my physical therapy sessions."Finn says
"Why would you do that Finn what's going on. I don't understand we don't leave for New York until a couple more months that gives you enough time to complete your physical therapy sessions."Rachel says
"Rachel I'm not going to New York with you."Finn says Rachel shakes her head "What- What do you mean..yes you are Finn whats going on."Rachel says holding his hand. Finn looks down at their hands and he clenches his jaw.
"Im leaving Rachel."Finn says
"What do you mean you're leaving where are you going?"Rachel asked
"I need to get out of this town...I need to get away from everything I thought I knew."Finn says
"Which is why we're going to New York to start over. Start fresh together."Rachel says Finn shakes his head "No you're not hearing me..I need to get away from EVERYTHING and EVERYONE."Finn says
"I-Including me? What about our plans Finn? Our plans to be together make our dreams come true.."Rachel asked
"You see I had one dream...that was to find my family and get the life I always wanted but you know my parents are dead...they're not coming back. I have no family now Rachel."Finn says
"YOU HAVE ME!"Rachel says holding his face and pressing their heads together "You have me..isn't that enough?"Rachel asked Finn closes his eyes "It is enough...it's more than I could ever ask for."Finn says
"Then what's the problem."Rachel asked "I'm not enough..."Finn says pulling away Rachel watches Finn's every movement and he rubs the back of his neck.
"I'm not enough and I know that...I need to get away from everything for a while Rachel...I need to I dont know find out what I'm going to do from here on in. I need to get away."Finn says
"I need to stop you right now..because while you're saying all of this...I need to ask..where does this leave us? Finn tell me.."Rachel asked Finn turns around and looks at her.
"Im breaking up with you."Finn says Rachel stands up and shakes her head "N-no no no no no No No NO!"Rachel yells at him
"You can't just leave me Finn I know you're hurting and I know that you're upset but please please just let me in I can help you."Rachel says
"You can't help me with this Rachel! Plus you have more important things to think about you're going to be a Star every dream you had is coming true and it's all the reach of your finger tips."Finn says
"None of this matters if you're not with me..I don't care about Broadway or being a star I don't need that I need you."Rachel begins to cry Finn shakes his head
"For as long as I've known you...I always knew you were born to be on a stage singing your heart out."Finn says Rachel begins to cry harder "Please don't leave me Finn...please I love you..you're the love of my life you have my whole heart please..."Rachel cries Finn closes his eyes and fights his instincts that tell him to hold her tight and kiss her as she cries into her hands.
"You said you'd never hurt me Finn...this hurts so much please..please rethink this..you don't really want to break up. You're just hurt and confused.."Rachel cries Finn walks towards the door and stops
"That's the thing Rachel...breaking up with you is the only thing Im certain about right now."Finn says and walks out the door Rachel gasps and falls to the floor and begins sobbing uncontrollably. Finn stops outside of the door and he sees Will Blaine Tina and Emma standing there...the two woman are in tears and Blaine is there in shock Will looks over at Finn and then Finn doesn't make eye contact with any of them he quickly runs down to the basement and gets his things.
"Go comfort her."Will says to Tina and his Wife He kisses Emma's forehead then Blaine runs to talk to Finn he sees Finn strapping a bag to his motorcycle
"Where the hell are you going...why did you just break up with my sister"Blaine says
"Blaine stay out of this."Finn says
"No I won't I know you love Rachel more than I love Kurt so tell me what the hell is going on."Blaine says Finn looks over at Blaine and extends his hand Blaine looks at him confused and realizes something this may be the last time any of them see Finn ever again.
"Finn.."Blaine says Finn grabs his hand and hugs him. "Take care of yourself Blaine."Finn says Will walks towards Finn as he puts on his helmet
"She's going to ask me where you went..I won't lie to her."Will says
"I don't expect you to."Finn says Will pats him on the back and then Finn puts down his helmet visor and starts his motorcycle he pull out of the driveway and speeds off.
"Dad What the hell just happened."Blaine asked Will looks at his son and sighs patting him on the back.
~Later on that night it's 2am and everyone is still trying to put together and comprehend what happened today~ Rachel shakes her head as her mother and Tina try to get her to sleep.
"I need to talk to him...He doesn't mean it when he said he's breaking up with me..he's probably just messing with me right...right."Rachel cries
"Rachel you need to calm down."Tina says trying to console her
"I know he loves me..I could see it in his eyes he was hurting himself when he was saying those words to me...I just need to assure him that I love him and I won't accept this break up."Rachel says wiping her tears
"Honey...please calm down."Emma says trying to reason with her daughter Rachel ignores their pleas and runs down to the basement she knocks on the door and closes her eyes
"Finn please open the door we need to clear this all up..please...Finn if you don't open up Im coming in."Rachel says opening the door and everything in Finn's room is gone his clothes are out of the shelves and its nothing but old decoration boxes and the cot he slept on.
"He left Rachel.."Blaine says
"No you're lying..."Rachel says
"He took off on his motorcycle...he didn't look like he was coming back."Blaine says Rachel shakes her head and storms into her father's den
"You know something...so talk."Rachel says Will picks his head up and looks at his upset daughter
"Rachel..."Will says
"Where did he go! Why did he leave me!"Rachel says Will sighs and walks over to his baby girl.
"Finn needed to get away from everything okay..he needs time to think."Will says
"About what! I love him."Rachel cries
"I know Baby girl I know...but he said he needs to do this for himself...and you may not understand this now but you will eventually..."Will says
"Please Daddy just tell me where he went so I can follow him and bring him back to me."Rachel says Will sighs and opens his drawer handing it to her it was a recruitment letter from the Army.
"What is this.."Rachel says
"Finn got an offer for the army a year ago...after he graduated high school he put it on hold because he wasn't sure if it was for him..."Will says
"Daddy where did Finn go."Rachel says Will sighs "Rachel just look at this as a chance to fully have a new start in New York."He says
"Answer the question Dad...Do you know where Finn went to or not?"Blaine asked Will looks at both of his children and nods "I'm the only one who knows where he is." He says
"Okay so where did he go?"Rachel says
"Rachel please...it's better you not stress over this.."Will says
"DAD. What are you hiding from us..where did Finn run off to that he would only tell you?"Blaine asked Will rubs his eyes and takes a deep breath.
"Fort Benning Georgia...Finn is enlisting in the Army."Will says leaving his kids in shock.
