I'm back...yeah, that took forever. Well, they got back to the guild hall, in their death machine. Turns out there was no reward. (A.K.A I couldn't think of one so I decided to just move on)
;( You can imagine Amethyst's reaction to that one.
So...here we go!
Amethyst caught up with Eve at the train station, and the snow mage was already grateful that his guild mates had already boarded the train.
"Hey, I thought you were staying back at the hall?" Eve asked, confused, not expecting Amethyst to see him off.
"I was, but I forgot, I wanted to invite you. I'm going back home to Slade manor. My Mom...well, let's just say that she doesn't know I've got a boyfriend. And she's been asking me every time she's called if I've gotten one. So, I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to see it?"
Amethyst asked, not looking the least bit shy or nervous about asking.
Eve blinked, "Uhh, sure, why not? Where do you want to met?"
"Actually, I invited you because I got this in." Amethyst held up a job request.
HELP! AMETHYST SLADE AND EVE TEARM! DARK GUILD RAVAGING VILLAGE! REWARD OF 400,000 JEWEL EACH!
"Oh, they requested us?" Eve asked.
"Looks like it." Amethyst replied. "Thing is, this village happens to be a jump, hop and a skip from Slade manor. Half an hour's walk, actually, I remember riding hogs with my Mom to the village."
"Yeah? Well, alright then, I've got everything I need already, let's go now."
Eve suggested, Amethyst smiled.
"Great, this'll be fun!"
Then this'll finally be over. She thought.
Eve told his guild mates about going on the job, and then ran off before they could start teasing him and singing ship names.
They boarded a different train and before you know it, Eve's sitting there next to Amethyst in a train compartment.
"You know..." Amethyst began as the snow mage glanced over to her.
"My Mom and Dad have always been really distrustful of my magic. Thy don't use magic, it was an anomaly that I ended up with my own power, and with something like Reaper magic!"
Amethyst laughed dryly.
"They didn't approve of you being a wizard?" Eve asked in concern, his eyebrows furrowing slightly.
"Oh no, they were cool with it, it was just they they didn't want there precious little girl tangling it up with dark guilds, curses and monsters on jobs." Amethyst explained, leaning forward slightly to look into Eve's eyes straighter.
Eve blinked, "Oh, so overprotective."
"Yeah, and another thing I'm looking forward to is them meeting you."
Amethyst snickered.
"Uhh..." Eve was confused by this.
"My parents had always thought I'd end up with a boy that was badder than I was. And..."
She gestured down to her leather, spikes, and black attire.
"So...I'm the opposite of anything they'd expect?" Eve asked, glancing down at his heart cruz suit and frowning, wondering if maybe he could pull of some leather.
"Yeah, it'll make Dad happy I didn't end up with some sort of rock-n-roll guitarist that's normally shirtless, because that's what my Dad has always thought I go and do."
Amethyst said, a smile fighting its way onto her face as she thought about her fathers reaction to seeing a well dressed cleanly cut young man from a gentleman's guild such as Blue Pegasus as his daughter's boyfriend instead of some sort of piercing covered long haired freak.
Wonder how he'd react if I brought Gajeel over for a visit...
Amethyst was in tears laughing while Eve just sat there and stared at her.
"What now!?" He demanded.
Amethyst wiped the tears from under her eyes with one purple painted fingernail.
"Nothing, nothing, just the funniest thing I've thought of him a while."
She said, smiled.
Eve just cocked his head to one side and shook his head, wondering if his girlfriend was crazy or not before they fell yet again into a comfortable silence. About fifteen minutes later, Amethyst has already fallen fast asleep.
He looked down at her delicately sleeping face and smiled slightly.
During the ride he was unable to convince himself to sleep, so he settled with looking over the job request.
Where did she put it...
Eve wondering as he unzipped the top to Amethyst's duffle bag and reached in, spotting a purple folder within the corse fabric bag and making to look inside of it.
"What are you doing in my bag?" Amethyst's voice suddenly rang out.
"YIPE!" Eve quickly yanked back his hand as Amethyst snatched the duffle away.
"Geez..." Eve put a hand to his chest and sagged his shoulders as Amethyst rooted through her bag, unnoticed by the snow mage as she pushed the folder he'd been reaching for deeper into the bag.
"I was just looking for the job request, god, you scared me." Eve said once he regained his breath.
"You want it, here." Amethyst whipped the request out of the bottom of her bag and handed it to him.
The two than put the event behind them and began to focus on the plan for attacking the dark guild.
Much later, for Eve and Amethyst had caught the very last ride, it was dark except for a small lacrima reading light Amethyst was using, and Eve was lying on the opposite bench, fast asleep with his back up against the window and his arms crossed.
Certain that her traveling companion wouldn't be waking anytime soon. Amethyst reaching into her bag again, digging under the mishmash of clothes, books, and crumpled papers to reach the folder that she'd forced to the bottom.
She pulled it out and quickly began flipping through it, checking to make sure none of the pictures or files had fallen out.
The first page had a picture of Eve's face on it as he exited his guild hall, taken through a high powered camera by one of the Lady's 'investigators'.
She flicked past the page containing information on Eve's day to day guild routine, past the page about his spells and choice of inn at several different towns. Info about his past was also supplied. Amethyst sighed as she reached the last page, it was new, her Lady had sent it to her via teleportation lacrima that was able to send small objects to Amethyst's apartment. She hadn't yet gotten the chance to read it since the water war and the new job coming in, so she'd just shoved it in the folder to study later.
Amethyst's large glittering green eyes slid back and forth across the paper.
Recent developments in research.
Tearm's magical power has only reached about 18.5% of it's full capacity. Seeing as this alone has been enough to make him one of the strongest members of his guild, it is understandable that making his full magic power release could be give him powerful force. Aside from his magical ability to show feeling, it seems that Tearm will be in little control of this new power. If his feelings themselves get out of hand, and his full magic power has already been released, it could cause record breaking cold and blizzards for a mile around. Burying the ground in snow and filling the sky with clouds, eventually this will causing Tearm himself to overload, this, in turn, will result in him losing his mind or worse. Yet the latent magical ability is still too powerful for he himself to keep under control if fully released, the experiment I will be attempting will force his ability to surface without causing major overload by splitting his magic energy into snow magic, and another entity, I will inform you of later developments when necessary.
Amethyst stared down at the paper. Eve's magic power was really so strong that it could drive him insane?
The reaper wizard looked across the way at the young snow mage across from her, studying his serene, sleeping face and wondering what those closed eyes would look like filled with madness and bloodlust. She frowned as she thought about it. Magic energy is like a wizards soul, that her Lady was planning on slicing Eve's is two. She imagined what would happen if the experiment was successful, he would become a living battery of magic power, and then he'd be reclaimed by the Lady to do who knows what else to him. She shuddered to imagine what would happen if the experiment failed. Than she realized, as she quickly snapped the folder shut and tucked it into he depths of her bag.
Why should I even care?
