A/N: I know I'm a terrible person but FINALS! Like, high school sucks sometimes. How I'm going to handle three more years, but I guess I have to. And sorry the chapters or short, but I have no time and these aren't supposed to be the longest chapters anyway.

Chapter 21:

Cato woke up the same way every morning. He always reached his hand out across the bed, searching for the warm body of his wife, but all he felt were the cold sheets. His heart ached for a minuet before he pulled himself out of bed and picked up his baby.

But this morning was different.

Cato woke up to his brother jumping on top of him, crying and blubbering about Katniss and dungeons. "What are you talking about, Peeta?" He rubbed his eyes, trying to blink he sleep from them.

His little brother took a deep breath, his bottom lips still quivering. "Katniss is alive... And in the dungeon."

The next thing Cato knew, he was being dragged threw the long, dark corridors of the dungeon. Cato almost crashed into Peeta when someone yelled out his name.

Peeta kneeled in front of one of the cage like cells, but he didn't recognise her. Cato didn't recognise the girl sitting there as Katniss Everdeen of Twelve, she just looked like every other prisoner.

"We have to get her out, Cato. We have to get her out. We will get her out!" Peeta was in hysterics and Cato couldn't move.

"She was dead" was all he could say. He looked at her, his once best friend and the plain, old grey eyes were the only thing he could see that looked like her. "What's my middle name?" Only five people in the world knew that, and two of them were dead.

"Nathan." It wasn't just Katniss who answered, but two other voices.

"C-C-C-Cato" the woman in the cell next to Kaniss's said. He looked at her in disbelief and saw the face of his daughter.

He fell to his knees then, sobbing like the last day he saw her. She was crying too. "Clove, is it really you?" Her hand reached out and grabbed his, nodding because she was to emotional for words. "I thought you were dead."

"I thought you hated me" she said after a moment of just loosing herself.

"I could never, ever hate you. I love you to damn much, Clove."

That's when Clove pulled her hand away. "But I killed our baby."

Cato bowed his head, the sound of his tears dripping off his face and into the standing water on the floor the only sound in the room at the moment. "She's alive, Clove. She looks just like you and I named her Ellanise only because that's what you would have named her."

She leaned against the bars, her heart breaking in her chest. "I never saw her" she whispered.

"You will, Clove. You will. Peeta and I will get you and Katniss out of here and you will see your daughter and hold her and raise her. You'll see her, Clove."

"I can't, Cato. It's either me or her and I wold rather live down here for the rest of her life than be responsible for ending it. The thought of her dead and you hating me made living in here a living hell, but now. I know you love me and she's alive being raised by a loving father, I will be able to live a happy life. Just tell her I love her."

"I will" Cato's voice cracked as the river of tears flowed rapid down his cheeks. "I love you, Clove."

"I love you too, Cato. I love you so much." They pushed their faces against the bars, their lips barely touching, but it was enough. It would be their last kiss for a long time.
