Chapter 20

-x- Lumii -x-

"I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Levi, Rivaille's twin. Nice to meet you!"

"Levi. . .Twin. . .Rivaille. . .?" I said. It seems that I was so shocked, I lost my skills in forming a coherent sentence. If this revelation made my brain malfunction, the next thing that Levi did made my heart stop.

Levi extended his hand to me and said, "It seems that you're a newbie and I know that this is something new for you, but why don't we get out of this dungeon first? I wouldn't want someone as cute as you to stay here for that long."

He said that with his smile that makes my heart go wild. Ah, the joy of seeing Heichou smile—someone who completely looks like him anyway. Levi is still waiting for my hand expectantly and I find it very hard to resist that's why I held his hand and he started leading me out of the dungeon.

There are many little rocks in the dungeon and I don't know if anyone could possibly trip because of it but it seems that my body is not in a good shape right now that's why I keep tripping over here and there but Levi always looks out for me and always manages to keep me in one piece.

"For crying out loud, Levi! That kid is 15, don't treat her like a baby who can't walk!" Heichou said behind us, a bit irritated, well not a bit but I'm sure he's irritated.

"Oh don't be such a kill joy, my dear twin, or maybe, you just want to be in my place." Levi said with a playful grin.

"A freaking babysitter? Hell no." Heichou said. Levi just laughed and let his twin continue muttering curses behind us.

We finally got outside of the dungeon and proceeded to the dining hall. "You two just wait there while I make some hot chocolate, okay?" Levi said as he trotted away to the kitchen.

I sat we Heichou and we're immediately surrounded with awkward silence but I somehow felt the need to start a conversation. But what would I say?

"Uh…Nice twin you got there." Tsk. I really wanted to facepalm myself because that is the most sensible sentence that my brain could form right now.

"Yeah right. I just wish that he wasn't that cheerful. It's pissing me off."

"Why would that piss you off? I actually think that it's kind of cute." I said sheepishly. Heichou stared at me like I'm nuts and said, "Cute, huh. Anyway, Myrna isn't here so just say whatever you wanted to say."

Should I say it? Now that I have the perfect opportunity, why can't I say it?!

I turned my attention on the floor like it's the most interesting thing in the whole world and said, "Uh...I-It's ju—"

"Hey guys! Here's the hot chocolate!" Levi said while carrying 3 cups of the sweet chocolate drink. "You really like to ruin the moment, huh. . ." Heichou muttered under his breath.

"Hmm, what's that, baby bro? I didn't quite heard what you said."

Baby bro? Pfft— I never knew that a time would come when I would get to see someone call the ever-so-powerful Heichou "Baby Bro"

"Will you stop calling me that!" Heichou complained. Levi sat next to me after distributing the cups and said, "Why not? I'm technically older than you. I came out first."

"You're a minute older. Just one freaking minute. So stop calling me baby bro!

"Whatever you say, baby bro."

"Ugh!" Heichou just gave up and drank his hot chocolate in frustration. Levi seems to be amused at his twin's reaction but turned to me and said, "Um. I didn't get your name."

"Oh. I'm Lumiere Merveille but you can just call me Lumii."

"Lumii. Such a nice name. I guess you really are a newbie, huh?" Levi asked. I nodded and just let him say what he was going to say.

"Well, you rarely get to see me outside the lab that's why not everyone knows that Rivaille has a twin. I've dedicated myself to Titan Research but it seems that I got too fond of my research and forgot to go outside. I haven't gone outside for weeks! No wonder why I smell so bad."

"Tell her something that she doesn't know because I think she already knows that you smell bad." Heichou commented.

"Ha Ha Ha. As I was saying, I spent so many years of my life trapped inside that Laboratory. Hanji is the only person that always visits me there."

"That's because you're both freaks." Heichou cut in.

"But I would really appreciate it if my BABY BRO would visit me more often." Levi said, emphasizing the Baby Bro part.

"Why did you come out? Did you already finish your research?" I asked. Levi puffed out his cheeks and said, "Sadly…no. I still have a long way to go but I came out so that, you know, I could relax a little and catch up with my baby brother and his…lovelife." Levi said with a wink.

I blushed and immediately felt uncomfortable. "Umm. Thanks for the hot chocolate, it was delicious. But I need to go to sleep now so that I would not be late for the training tomorrow and so that both of you could talk alone." I got up and said, "Goodnight!"

"Goodnight Lumii!" Levi said while Heichou just looked at me with his why-did-you-leave-me-with-this-freak look.

This is really one surprising night, huh? I can't wait to see how this will turn out.

As soon as Lumii was out of earshot, I turned to my brother and said, "So, is she the lucky girl?" He just glared at me and said, "It's none of your business, you freak."

I just laughed and ignored his remark. I'm already used to his harshness. But I know that deep inside, Rivaile is really kind, he just doesn't show it that much.

"Rivaille, I know you're in a tough situation right now. Getting engaged with a girl that you barely know."

"I'm surprised you knew that while you're inside your filthy lab." he said, his face turning sour at the mention of filthy.

"Hey, I'm a very busy person, I don't have time to clean! But you can clean it if you want, knowing that you're such a neat freak," I cleared my throat and said, "Anyway, I want you to know that I'm always here for you as your brother, we may not talk much but you can always come to the lab if you want. I know how hard it is for you."

"You don't know anything and I would never want to go to that stinky lab."

*sigh* Rivaille is being stubborn as usual. But I know that I didn't exactly fulfill my role as an older brother and I want to make up for all the time that I was stuck inside my lab that's why I thought of a crazy idea, being the mad scientist that I am.

"So you're being all emo and saying that I don't know anything about you? How about we exchange lives for a day?" I said with a playful grin.

He gave a skeptical look but I just knew what I need to say to make him say yes, "Or maybe, my baby brother is scared of a little challenge. Don't worry Big bro is here for you."

His face turned into a scowl and said, "Me? Afraid of a challenge? Hell no."

"So deal?" I asked.

"Deal."
