Chapter Twenty:

I didn't dream of Pitch that night, I felt like I was too tired to even dream. When I did wake, my body was sore, and tired. I didn't feel like moving. I didn't know that the loss of energy from my storm the other day would cause such fatigue.

I sighed, opening my eyes, and I realized I was in Logan's room, and he was sleeping next to me. I smiled into his bare chest, cuddling closer. He was snoring, and it was cute.

I looked over at his alarm clock, that wasn't set, to see what time it was. It was early, for us anyway. And I doubt Scott would want me to train today, but who knows.

I stretched my sore limbs to see what I was working with. Nothing too bad, my core hurt the most. And my head throbbed a little. I looked around to see the blinds closed, the sunlight just peaking through. I rolled back over onto Logan, and he let out a small grunt, telling me he was awake.

Logan wrapped his arm around me, pulling me close, eyes still closed. He breathed in a deep breath and then released it. I felt his chest rise and fall, and I silently listened to his heartbeat. It was peaceful, just laying here, together.

I finally decided to get up, but I did slowly, regretting leaving the warmth of Logan's body. I sighed, turning back to him. He still had his eyes closed. I smiled as a light bulb went off in my head.

I got up and crawled over to Logan, plopping down so my knees were at his sides. He smiled, as he opened his eyes.

"Good morning."

"Morning," I grinned.

He yawned, and stretched, before I laid down on him, my head over his chest. I just didn't want to get up. I listened to his breathing and heartbeat again.

"May," I heard him say.

"Yeah?" I asked, head still on his chest.

"Do you want to go on another date with me?" He asked.

I shot up, and looked at him. Our first date had went great, and I only wanted another. My smile never faltered, I only grinned wider.

"Yes," I nodded, leaning down to kiss him, then I got up, so he could get up.

I heard him sit up, as he yawned again. I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear before yawning. I walked over to him.

"Stop yawning, it's contagious!"

He laughed, embracing me. I released a deep breath, and closed my eyes.

"How bad was the damage, I didn't really get a good look at it." I said, looking up at his face.

He frowned. "It's not that bad, a few broken trees and things. Nothing too major."

My eyes narrowed, brows furrowing. "You're lying."

His eyes met mine. "Fine, it's a little bad, bit nothing that can't be fixed."

"I feel so bad!" I groaned, leaving his embrace, walking over to the couch and sitting down, crossing my legs, criss-cross.

I did feel bad. I had left my home because I destoyed my parents roof, and he I was, destrying someone elses property. I growled under my breath, my parents. I can't believe them!

I laid back, burring my face in my hands. I wasn't going to cry, but I was very upset with myself.

I felt warm, rough hands on my wrists. They removed my hands from my face, and my eyes looked up to find Logan's. He sat down across from me, still holding my gaze. His lips formed a straight line.

"It's all good, everyone is okay."

"That's not helping." I looked away from his gaze.

I still felt bad that everyone had seen me in that kind of state. A state of pure and utter rage that only caused destruction. I hated that they had seen me in my worst. I would only allow Logan to every see me like that.

He grabbed my face between his hands, gently. He gazed into my eyes, his eyes full of love and compassion.

"You didn't do anything wrong,"

"I did too, I let them get the best of me." I shook my head.

He sighed, leaned in and kissed me with passion. Our lips synchronized and moved together. His warm breath ran across my face, and made me shiver. Logan released my face and wrapped his arms around me, I moved my hands to his hair.

I pulled away, breathless, as did Logan. I released a smile, and breathed out. Logan grinned at me, and grabbed me. I squealed, as he threw me over his shoulder. I hit his back, jokingly, and laughed.

"Logan, let me go!" I giggled.

I heard his deep throaty chuckle. I sighed and went limp, because he wasn't letting me down so easily. The door creaked open and Logan walked out, I had no other choice to be dragged along.

I looked down to the carpet that was in the hallway. I heard another door open, and I knew we were in my room. He set me down and grinned ear to ear. I rolled my eyes, but smiled anyway.

"Go and get ready, then we'll go eat some breakfast."

I nodded. "Good, I'm hungry.

I began my way to my bathroom, but turned and kissed Logan and hurried into the bathroom. I showered, and changed into a regular blue tee, jeans, and my boots.

I sat on my bed and read Evermore until Logan walked in. I didn't have the nerve to walk downstairs by myself. I was too afraid of what people would say.

Logan walked into the room with his norm on. White tank top, leather jacket, jeans, and his boots. It worked on him though.

I looked up from my book, to look at Logan's face. He smiled, sitting in the chair that was near my window. I turned back to the book, to finish the chapter. It had gotten fairly interesting. I mean, Damien was so mysterious, it was a good story.

I closed the book, and set it on my end table, before gazing at Logan. I got up, and crawled over to the edge of my bed, and sat back down. We were closer now.

"Want to eat now?"

"Yeah, I'm pretty hungry." I said, nodding.

Logan got up and offered me him hand, which I took and got up. Since I was a clutz, I fell into him. But, I thought that's what he wanted because he pulled me up a little too hard. I heard him chuckle and I backed away, blushing. I hid my face in my hair, hoping it wouldn't be so obvious.

He tucked my hair behind my ears. "You should keep your hair up, so I can see your beautiful face."

My blush reddened. I could feel the blood boil just beneath the surface of my skin. I smiled, nervously. "Thanks."

He led me forward and out the door. Logan took me down the stairs instead of the elevator. It was a nice change.

"Do you know where you want to go tonight?" Logan asked, as we reached the second flight of stairs.

"That bar we went to last time was nice, I'd go there again."

"Sounds good, we'll head out around six, that good?"

"Perfect," I smiled.

He grinned down at me.

"But, what about that Magneto guy? Isn't he after us?" My eyebrows frowned, and I bit my lip.

Logan's face hardened, and he frowned slightly. "You're safe with me."

"I know that, but couldn't he hurt you, to get to me? I don't want you hurt." My eyes narrowed as I focused more into my surroundings.

A couple of kids ran up the stairs or down the stairs to get to class. They all seemed to be okay, and they paid no attention to me, which was okay. I never liked attention.

"I think we'll be okay."

"I hope so."

Rogue and Bobby talked to Logan when we got down stairs. It was during their lunch period so it was okay. Rogue shot me a few questions and talked to me a little. Bobby only joined into the conversation, and then they left.

Logan and I began to wander the grounds. Logan wouldn't let me near the woods. So we walked, hand in hand, through the courtyard. We talked and laughed, enjoying ourselves.

We walked down to The Danger Room because Logan was called in to sub. Logan had me come in, but I had to stay on the side and not get hurt. I dodged the debris with ease, but I worried about the other kids. I subtly protected them, but not often. Only when I knew that the damage would be great if I didn't do anything.

After Logan's last class that he had to sub, he was all sweaty. I didn't care, I'd wash off later. We went to the kitchen to get some water and then we headed back to our rooms.

Logan kissed me and went to go shower and change. I walked back into my room and figured I'd just wash off.

When I was done, I though I'd go with something casual, but made sure it looked nice. I wore a white T-shirt, light blue jeans, a white and blue stripped zip up sweatshirt and my blue converse. I went back to reading, and was able to finish the book before there was a knock on my door.

I was still scared to get on the motorcycle. I was sure that I'd never get over the fear of them. I held on tight, as I always did. Not that we did this often.

I saw the bar because I didn't close my eyes this time. Surprising, I know.

When I was just about to walk in, I saw a dark figure in the woods that was on the other side of the road. I shook it off as a figure of my imagination, but it was too real.

We walked in, and we almost immediately seated. I hoped nothing about mutants would come up. Because it bothered both Logan and I. And with both of us angry, let's just say it wouldn't end good.

I had a cowboy burger, while Logan had a the special of the night, which was a big burger. I also had a soda, and you guessed it, Logan had a beer.

Before our food arrived, Logan went to the men's room. And when he was gone, I overheard a conversation from the bar. I wasn't able to catch all of it, but some of it.

"The name's Grace." A beautiful woman said to a man.

The man was dressed in a cop-like uniform.

"Were have I seen you before?" The man asked.

"I don't recall ever meeting you." Her south southern voice said.

I rolled my eyes and looked out the window. There was the dark figure again. I focused harder on figuring out who it was, when Logan came and sat down.

"You okay?" Logan asked, noticing my tense expression.

"Fine," I smiled, digging into my burger. It was a good burger, I admit to that.

When we finished Logan and I shared a dessert, key lime pie. It was a pretty good one too. Usually they came back with too much sweetness, but this one had just enough of that. Logan on the other hand, had never had it before, so I was glad his first one was a good one.

Logan paid, and we walked out, heading to the motorcycle. The trees moved, and I saw the dark figure at the same time that Logan sniffed the air, and tensed up.

"Do you see that, Logan?" I asked, eyes locking in on the person.

He nodded. "We have to go."

I frowned. "Who is it?"

"Let's go."

I wanted to know who it was, so I began my way towards the woods, ignoring Logan's second sense of smelling.

Why? Because I'm an idiot.

As soon as I reached the trees, Logan grabbed my upper arm. I turned to look at him, and slight fear was in his eyes.

"Logan, who is it?" I asked.

He didn't answer, so I walked further into the woods. Probably to settle my own curiosity. Then I heard his claws come out, and I looked around, uncertain.

The trees opened up slightly and what stood there was, in fact, two dark figures. I strained my eyes to make out certain details.

One figure had white hair with a helmet on, and dark clothes. Obviously male, and he was tall. The other was smaller, more feminine. A little light hit her, and I saw that her hair was red, and she had a blue looking body.

I cocked my head, confused. Mutants?

Logan froze, unable to move. I turned to him, fear rattling my eyes as well. Why couldn't he move?

"Tempest," A deep rough voice began. "It's very nice to see you."

My eyes shot to him, and I saw another figure emerging from the woods behind them. I recognize them right away, Pyro.

Logan groaned in pain.

"Stop it!" I begged, yelling across to them.

"May, run." Logan said through clenched teeth.

"I'm not leaving you."

Then I realized why Logan couldn't move. One of the figures was Magneto and he could control metal. Metal. The stuff that laid on Logan's bones.

"What do you want, Magneto?" I spat at him.

"Clever one, you are." Magneto laughed.

I rolled my eyes before letting out a low growl. Pyro stepped forward, getting a flame ready. Magneto put a hand in front of him, signalling to stop.

I summoned a little lightning, and made it strike right in front of where Pyro was standing. Then, I let it disappear. "Let Logan go."

"Quite a talent you got there,"

I saw, out of the corner of my eyes, Logan lower to the ground. He took deep breaths to try and settle himself. I pulled him close to me, intertwining my fingers.

"What do you want?" I asked again, venom in my voice.

"I want you to join me, to join The Brotherhood."
