"Revenge is an act of passion; vengeance of justice. Injuries are revenged; crimes are avenged."
Is all Alex could hear being repeated to her, over and over again as she gradually regained consciousness. In regaining consciousness, what once felt like nothing more than an annoying tapping on the back of the head suddenly began to feel like the never ending pounding of a sledge hammer; as a groggy, headache ridden Alex started coming to. As her eyes worked on adjusting to the bright lighting of the room, compliments of the sun. Alex sat herself up on the couch and took minute, as she tried to wrap her head around the precarious situation she now found herself in, as she was handcuffed, & stationed in the living room of a house that she'd never seen before.
It was becoming painfully obvious to her that she'd been kidnapped, but the who and when was still little a fuzzy, especially seeing as the incessant pounding from her headache made it somewhat hard for her to concentrate. Try as she might, Alex couldn't remember the moments leading up to her capture, or at least that was the case, before Brianna, Aiden, and Dillion strolled into the living room one after the other.
"Great, she's finally awake!" expressed Aiden, while on his way to the sofa
"You!" said Alex with such disdain, as the mere sight of Brianna and the guys helped jogged her memory.
"It's about time you woke up sleeping beauty." teased Brianna as passed Alex on her way to her satchel
"Good, she remembers us." said Dillion as he shared a look with Aiden, before then grabbing a seat on the arm of the sofa closest to Alex
"Sleeping beauty, that's clever." said Alex half heartedly, "Look, I don't know what guys want from me and personally I don't care. So do us all a favor and let me go because if you don't, things are going get real ugly, real fast" threatened Alex
"Pretty big talk coming from someone who doesn't have access to their powers." rebutted Brianna
A look of contempt quickly shot across Alex's face as she remembered how back at the Salvatore boarding house, her powers had no affect on Brianna and the others. Hoping to prove to herself that what happened back at Stefan's house was just a fluke Alex attempted to read Brianna's mind, but quickly found that she couldn't. After failing to read Brianna's mind, Alex went on to Dillion and then Aiden and to her dismay she wasn't able to read their minds as well.
Feeling a bit on edge about her current predicament, Alex threw her head back, and sighed, as she tried to calm herself & regain perspective. Out the corner of her right eye Alex saw Aiden awkwardly leering at her.
"What are you looking at?" asked Alex
"I'm just taking in the sight." smiled Aiden
"You know what, SCREW this." stated Alex, prior to head butting Aiden in the face. After head butting Aiden, Alex then turned & attempted to tackle Dillion off the chair arm, which ultimately failed due to Dillion catching her in the mouth with his elbow. The second Dillion's elbow made contact, he quickly changed position before then using his right arm to pin Alex back against the chair.
"Would you relax. We're not here to hurt you." stated Dillion
"Really?! Cause I think after being sent crashing into a coffee table, the handcuffs and now the elbow to my face, you guys seriously need to re-evaluate what you mean by not hurting me." berated Alex.
"My god she's annoying." replied Brianna as she continued fumbling through her satchel
"Just try to hurry up, will you Brianna." said Dillion
"You might want to put some ice on that." said Alex, after seeing the shape Aiden's nose was in
"I'll be fine, luckily it's not broken. So a little elevation should do the trick." responded Aiden
"Suit yourself." answered Alex in an unsympathetic tone
"I know you don't know me, but I am a big fan! I have read and studied everything I could get my hands on having to do with Amelia Dru-Oilell Corann." bragged Aiden
Accompanied with arched brows, a look of confusion made it's way across Alex's face after hearing Aiden's strange confession. Still lost, Alex began glancing back and forth between Dillion and Aiden before finally asking Aiden, "Why are you telling me this?
"Because you're her, Amelia; the powerful druid priestess. Rival of Qetsiyah, and Silas' one true love. Out of the three, you have the most cult followers known to man. You, who was deprived your true love and wrongly murdered."
Not knowing what to say, as well as being completely blow away by Aiden's obvious obsession with Amelia, Alex switches her attention from Aiden to Dillion as she asks, "This is a joke right? Please tell me he's kidding, please tell me, that you guys didn't abduct me solely on this absurd notion that you think I'm Amelia!" pleaded a now agitated Alex.
"Yes, and no." answered Dillion
"It's not absurd, you are Amelia!" stressed Aiden
"Dude seriously, I think I'd know if I was a two thousand and something year old priestess, ok. Now I'm sorry you guys got your wires cross, but I'm nothing more than a shadow self….a doppelgänger. So how bout letting me go and we forget this ever happened, sounds like a plan?" asked Alex
"We can't Alex, you see Aiden might be nothing more than a craze fan, but he's right. You are Amelia, or at least you were in another life. And it's for that reason why me and Brianna have been searching for you."
"It's official, you all are lunatics." said Alex
Brianna had finally found the item she had been looking for through out her satchel; an old worn out dirt covered book which had the stem of a leaf sticking out one of the pages. With a smug look on her face and a twinkle in her eyes, Brianna gently caressed the cover of the book as she made her over towards Alex and the others.
"It's time Dillion…we're finally going to be free of all this." said Brianna as she began to tear up.
"Free, free of what?" asked Alex
"You know in all the books, stories, and ancient texts about Amelia and her rebirth, they don't tell you about the family her father cursed in preparation for his daughter's triumphant return. They don't reveal that while she's cosmically waiting to be reborn, that the descendents of a fellow traveler and friend continues to suffer as they're plagued by the decision made by her and her father. Luckily for us, today's the day we change all that, freeing future generations from the ties that binds us to Amelia. You Alex, will help us correct the wrong that was done to our ancestor. " stated a grief stricken Brianna.
Alex couldn't understand why, but suddenly she found herself feeling remorseful after hearing Brianna's little speech. It was almost as if somewhere deep down inside she knew everything Brianna & Dillion was telling her was the truth.
"Look your hurt I get it, but I don't see how killing me is going to help break whatever curse it is you think was placed on your family." responded Alex
"Who said anything about killing you?" asked Dillion
"If your intent isn't to kill me, then what is it?" asked Alex
"We could tell you, but that would ruin the surprise." smiled Brianna as she removed the necklace that held Amelia's pendant from neck, before then putting the necklace around Alex's neck.
"Wait a second, I'm almost sure I've seen this pendant before. I think it was on a different necklace, but I've definitely seen this pendant before.
"Of course you have, it belonged to Amelia." answered Aiden
After the necklace was safely secured around Alex's neck, Aiden and Dillion firmly gripped her arms, as Brianna commenced with a spell chanted in Latin.
Before Alex knew what was going on the pendant around her neck started to glow in response to Brianna's chanting, and as the glow from the pendant began to brighten, Alex started receiving random images of Amelia flashing through head. Just as the flashes had finally stopped, out of no where Alex found herself face to face with her deceased parents before then uncontrollably blowing passed them, & coming face to face with her father's deceased parents, better known as grandpa and grandma. This was the start of her journey as she continued traveling backwards through out her father's lineage, meeting great grand parents, and other deceased ancestors.
Lockwood Mansion
Stefan & Elena had just gotten done filling in Tyler on all they've been through, as well as their brilliant idea on how to track down Alex.
"I'm not a blood hound, you know that right?" responded Tyler
"We know Tyler, but seeing as you're a werewolf it makes sense that you'd be better able to pick up on Alex's scent and track it."
Tyler was more than willing to do anything to help Stefan them find Alex, but at the same time the idea of being used like a hunting dog greatly annoyed him.
"So, are you going to help us?" asked Stefan
"Give me the shirt." said Tyler as he snatched Alex's shirt from out Stefan's hand. Tyler then placed the shirt up to his nostrils and began taking big whiffs as he got himself familiar with Alex's scent. "Got it." he said with a splash of attitude.
"Perfect, then let's go." said Stefan, before then heading towards the door.
As Stefan headed towards the door he was immediately followed by Elena and Tyler.
"You guys make sure to be careful" said Caroline
"We will." smiled Elena
Just as Stefan was opening the front door, the sound of gunfire quickly ensued as the Lockwood mansion was now under attack. Using his vampire speed Stefan immediately slams the door shut before then running back into
the living room with Elena and Tyler.
"What was that?" asked Matt
"If I had to guess more hunters." answered Stefan
"How'd they know where we were?!" asked Tyler
Tyler's question wasn't met with an answer, but instead with silence as everyone just shrugged their shoulders and tried to remain calm.
"Maybe we can go through the back door." pointed out Elena
"Nope I just checked, and from what I could see they have the whole place surrounded." responded Sheriff Forbes as she re-entered the living room after just leaving the kitchen.
"Well, what do we do know?" asked Matt, but before Stefan could get the chance to answer the group suddenly found themselves being addressed by a female voice coming from just outside the mansion.
"Come on guys, let's not make this any harder than it needs to be. All I want is Stefan, and no one will get hurt." said the woman in the most untrusting of tones
"Great, now who's that?" asked Caroline
Out of no where the front door violently blows open, "This conversation would go a lot smoother if you'd come out on the porch Stefan." yelled the woman
Still in the living room Stefan, Tyler, Caroline, and Elena finally start approaching the front door, all the while making certain to keep their wits about them. The group stopped just short threshold as they looked out the door, spotting the woman who seemed to be in control of the hunters stationed in front yard as well as all around the Lockwood mansion. The woman looked to be Mediterranean & in her late twenties to early thirties with long curly hair.
"Don't worry, the hunters are under strict orders not to open fire. Unless you all try to escape that is." reassured the woman
"You're not really going out there are you?" asked Tyler
"I'm starting to lose patience, and trust me when I say that's the last thing you all want." expressed the woman
"Doesn't look like I have much of a choice." answered Stefan before then going out on the stoop
A sinster smile instantly made it's way across the woman's face as she and Stefan made eye contact. It was pretty clear the woman had a particular interest in Stefan but what no one knew was why, it wasn't like any of them had ever met her before.
"I am the only that thinks this is a bad idea?" asked Tyler as he glanced between Elena and Caroline
"Of course this is a bad idea, we're pretty much just servering Stefan up to this nut job." added Caroline
"I don't like this idea any more than you guys, but we have to trust that Stefan has a plan." explained Elena
"So do you plan on telling who you are & and what you want with me or are just gonna stay out here and waste time." asked Stefan
"I need you so that I can suppress Silas's mental power and as for who I am, you already know that. I think the term you all refer to me as is the vindictive bitch" answered the woman
"Qetsiyah!?" asked a now stunned Stefan
"Oh my god, no way!" said Caroline after hearing Stefan address the new woman as Qetsiyah
"There you go and do me a favor, call me Tessa from now on. Qetsiyah just sounds so old." replied Tessa in a coyish manner
"So who's the poor woman whose body your possessing?" asked Stefan
"No one's, this is actually my body. I kind of brought myself back from the dead." smiled Tessa
"You know I'd like nothing more than to help you Tessa, but I'm kind of busy doing my own thing. You understand right?" Stefan
"To bad for you I wasn't asking" said Tessa before then using her power of pain infliction to give Stefan multiple aneurysms, causing him to drop the floor in pain.
Seeing this Elena impulsively vamp sped at Tess only to be stopped dead in her tracks after being shot twice in the chest by wooden bullets fired by the two hunters closest to Qetsiyah. Right after the bullets made contact, Elena falls to the floor shaking aggressively in pain.
"Elena!" screamed Caroline
"Oh man this bad." said Tyler
Tessa looks back at the two hunters that shot Elena and asks, "How did you two miss the heart?"
Little did Qetsiyah know that her hunters aim were spot on point and that had it not been for the intervention of another, Elena Gilbert would have in fact been killed.
Tessa just shook her head in disappointment of her hunters, before then asking one of the hunters for their gun prior to her making over way over to Elena. When Tessa had reached Elena she took a second to really look her over "You know I didn't notice it before, but you look a lot like a woman I use to know back in the day. Oh well no matter." said Qetsiyah as she pointed the gun at Elena's heart.
Just as Tessa was about to shoot Elena the gun she had suddenly flew out her hand. "What the…." said Tessa before being rudely interrupted as she was sent flying backwards, compliments of Bonne's telekinesis.
After saving Elena's life, Bonnie turns & asks Neil to tell her friends to run for it. Neil agrees but only if Bonnie can continue to keep Qetsiyah at bay.
Qetsiyah had just crashed into the ground after being flung, when she and the rest of the gang surprisingly heard one of the hunters yelling for Stefan and the others to make a break for it. Soon after, that same hunter then turns around and begins attacking his fellow hunters all under Neil's influence.
"Did that hunter just tell us to run for it?" asked a confused Caroline
"Good so you heard it to?" asked Tyler and neither him nor Caroline knew what to make of this newly formed situation.
"Neil." muttered a furious Qetsiyah.
Wasting no time at all Bonnie began using her power of expression to help manipulate the weather as she caused a thick fog to roll through, & supply cover for her friends. Along with the fog, Bonnie also called forth powerful hurricane winds to blow away countless hunters. Allowing a hole to be punched through their formation while still providing a safe and clear path for her friends to see & travel through before the fog completely rendered everyone's visibility to zero. While Bonnie did this, Neil expanded his control to a few more hunters.
Qetsiyah had just gotten back on her feet and was just about to retaliate when a hunter being controlled by Neil suddenly tackled her from behind.
With Qetsiyah's focus broken, Stefan was now free from her pain infliction and so on that he quickly orders Tyler and Caroline to get Matt and Sheriff Forbes to safety while he goes and retrieves a fallen Elena.
Qetsiyah made very quick work of the one hunter, as she used her power of telekinesis to snap his neck. After doing so, the fog that had suspiciously rolled in just a few minutes a go was now gone, and the violent gusts of wind seemed to had disappeared with it.
With Stefan and the gang miles away from Qetsiyah by now, Bonnie and Neil swiftly take their leave before then reappearing back at the Other's side version of the Bennett house hold.
Brianna, Dillion, & Aiden's hideout
Alex had just blown pass yet another ancestor of her father's when she came across yet another married couple who obviously were her ancestors, but unlike all the other ancestors she had came across Alex wasn't blow passing this couple. Instead, much against her will she was uncontrollably following them, and what was wierder was the fact that this married couple was in a very heated argument about the fact that the woman appearhantly wasn't able to bear children. Which Alex found strange, especially seeing that if the woman wasn't able to have kids then the ancestor she was just with before this one would have never been born.
It was becoming more and more clearer to Alex as she followed the couple that they had some sort of significance seeing as she wasn't shooting pass them, but now the question she found herself asking was, what was their signifance. Just as Alex was getting bored with this couple she seemingly fast forwarded ahead few months.
Now she was in a very small & dimly lit clearing somewhere in the forest. There she saw the couple with another man performing, some kind of a ritual. The wife was laying on the ground while her husband knelt beside her with her hands cupped in his. The other man was also on his knees with both hands resting on the woman's stomach as he chanted something in welsh, which sadly enough Alex couldn't follow. Nothing about what she was witnessing made sense, until she saw the spirit of Amelia appear behind the man who as chanting in celtic.
"What in the hell? Amelia, Amelia!" yelled Alex as she attempted to get Amelia's attention but unlike all the other times she's seen Amelia, Alex wasn't able to interact with her.
Then what Alex saw next shocked the hell out of her as she watched Amelia's soul turn into vapor and most of it enter into the woman's body while a small, tiny fraction of it entered into the pendant worn by the man performing the ritual. The pendant the man wore was the exact same pendant Brianna had placed around Alex's neck just before casting her spell.
After the man had finished his ritual the married couple thanked him and went on their way. Unlike before, Alex wasn't uncontrollably linked to couple, instead she was linked to the man who'd just done ritual. After a few minutes of watching the man clean out the clearing of all his candles and markings, Alex saw the man abruptly drop to his knees start crying. While he was crying, the man seemed to be muttering something in welsh, but unlike before Alex was able to understand it.
"I'm sorry Deva, but I've failed you. I promised you that I'd look after her…..that I'd keep her safe, and yet this happens. What kind of a man can't protect his only daughter. I just hope Deva that you and Amelia can find it in your hearts to forgive me. For even in death I shall watch over Amelia, as she's reincarnated and giving a second chance at life. I just pray that's she loved, and has a better life than the one I provided for her." said the
Tears began to run down Alex's face, as she watched the man grieve for his daughter, all the while asking for her forgiveness. Even though Alex was going through a somewhat emotional experience she was still able to see for herself that Brianna, Dillion, and Adrian were right, she was the reincarnation of Amelia.
As soon as Alex came to accept that fact, she was immediately pulled from her spiritual journey, and found herself coming to on the floor of the foreclosed house that Aiden, Brianna, & Dillion were using as hideout.
