A month passed and things had momentarily quieted down at Hogwarts. However, things were always tense in Defense class since Harry knew that Umbridge wanted to even the score with him since she had not been able to give him her full punishment. Tonight Harry was in the Gryffindor common room with his two best friends doing homework in front of the roaring fireplace. It was very hard to concentrate on homework since tomorrow would be the first Quidditch game of the school year. Harry was especially looking forward to this occasion since it had been cancelled the year before due to the Triwizard Tournament. Not only was Quidditch a distraction, but Harry was also planning on setting up his own Defense club under Umbridge's nose.

"I still can't get that fight out of my mind," Ron said, referring to the super hero battle that had taken place in the Great Hall. "Who were those people anyway?"

"Well, the bad guy was this man that Voldemort has formed an alliance with lately," Harry explained, making Ron's face cringe since he had said the forbidden word. "Although, I doubt he'll want to have anything with Lex Luthor or his people now that Luthor is behind bars.

"There is one thing that I don't understand," Hermione mused as she scratched her head.

"What's that?" Harry asked.

"I'm pretty sure that those two people who were fighting in the Great Hall were both Muggles," Hermione pointed out.

"Muggles at Hogwarts?" Ron piped up. "Cool!"

"You don't understand!" Hermione objected. "If you had read Hogwarts A History, you would know that Muggles always remember a previous engagement when they get near Hogwarts and they see nothing but a run down shack."

"Why should be read the book when we could just ask you?" Ron chortled, causing Hermione to bop him upside the head. "Ow! How could Muggles get into Hogwarts anyway?"

"Maybe they had some sort of magical talisman or something," Harry guessed.

"Harry, do you know anything about this?" Hermione probed.

"I only have a few suspicions," Harry reasoned.

"Would she be responsible for the bat being in here?" Hermione wondered to finger Harry's godmother.

"Possibly," Harry agreed.

"I think that I might know who Batman really is," Hermione mused.

"How could you possibly know that?" Harry demanded.

"Well, my family hasn't always lived in England," Hermione began. "When I was five, we lived in a certain town in the States."

"What does that have to do with Batman?" Ron pressed.

"I'm getting to that!" Hermione snorted. "My parents used to have this tall man as a patient who was so rich that he would have made the Malfoys look like paupers."

"Wow! Richer than the Malfoys?" Ron interrupted.

"Yes," Hermione sighed impatiently. "As days went by, I saw reports on Batman and I knew that it must take a lot of money to fight crime the way he does. So I put it together that Batman must have been my parents' patient."

"If you used to live in the States, then why are you here?" Harry wondered.

"You can thank someone named Two Face for that," Hermione explained.

"Who?" Ron squeaked.

"He was this man that had half of his face disfigured," Hermione went on. "He was robbing us and before he left, he flipped a coin to decide our fate. That is went Batman came in and saved us. After that, my dad wanted to get as far away from that crazy town as possible."

The next day, Harry had a serious case of butterflies in his stomach due to the fact that he had not played Quidditch for more than a year. He could barely keep down his breakfast which consisted of a pork chop and fried eggs. What was even more nerve racking was the fact that Ron was the new keeper. Oliver Wood had graduated after Harry's third year ended.

After breakfast, Harry hurriedly walked to the Gryffindor changing room. While he was nervously changing into his Quidditch uniform, the new captain Angelina Johnson was busy calling out plays. Fred and George were busy plotting something as usual. When the captain was done with her pep talk, Harry ran onto the field with the other players to the thunderous applause of the spectators.

In the Slytherin changing room, Draco Malfoy was changing into his uniform feeling as if he had forgotten something. It was like he had an itch that he couldn't scratch. He knew that it had nothing to do with Quidditch since he still had the drive to trounce Harry Potter thoroughly. The Slytherin captain came over to see Draco since he could see that something was wrong with him.

"You okay, Malfoy?" Conrad Porter demanded.

"Yeah," Draco insisted.

"We need you at top formation to beat Potter," Porter pointed out.

"I'll get him!" Draco promised.

"Good," Porter acknowledged. "Now, onto other business. Are you still going out with Pansy?"

"Pansy…" Draco murmured in a slurred voice.

"Never mind," Porter gave in. "Let's just head out there."

Draco ran out onto the field wondering if this was a clue to his current condition. Why did he feel so spaced out every time that he thought of Pansy?

Lee Jordan walked to the enchanted microphone since the first Quidditch game of the year was about to begin. He took a brief moment to look at the spectators in their four sets of bleachers. After looking at the three yellow hoops at each end of the field, he looked back at the professors. He shuddered when he focused on Thomas Bradley in the back row. There was something about him that was just too scary. Finally, it was time to start the match between Gryffindor and Slytherin.

"Hello, and welcome to Quidditch! My name is Lee Jordan. Since we have been away for a while, I'll go over the rules for the first and second years. Each team has three chasers whose job is to throw the Quaffle through one of the hoops on the other side of the field. The two beaters on each team keep the blue bludgers away from the teammates. The keeper's job is to keep the Quaffle from going through the hoops. The stars of the show are the seekers who want to catch the Golden Snitch before their opponent. The chasers for Slytherin are Warrington, Vaisley, and Montague. Their beaters are Crabbe and Goyle. The keeper is Porter and their seeker is Draco Malfoy. For Gryffindor, the chasers are Spinnet, Bell, and Johnson. The beaters are Fred and George Weasley. Their new keeper is Ron Weasley. The seeker is Harry Potter who has a brand new Firebolt. I don't know what happened to the old one but…"

"That will be enough!" Professor McGonagall sternly interrupted.

"Sorry, miss." Lee apologized. "Madam Hooch has released the balls so let's play Quidditch! Slytherin gets first possession. Warrington passes to Montague who passes to Vaisley. Vaisley throws the Quaffle at the hoop and… Oh no! It's off Weasley's head and through the hoop. Slytherin leads 10-0. Spinnet passes to Bell who dodges a bludger attack from Warrington. She shoots and she scores. It's all tied up at ten. You dirty cheater! Warrington almost hit Bell with his club. She takes the penalty shot and she scores. Gryffindor now leads 20-10. What's wrong with you, Potter?"

To everyone's dismay, Harry was spinning in circles out of control on his broomstick. No one was more concerned than the red head Flora Parker who was really Zatanna.

"Tcetorp!" Zatanna shouted to right Harry's broom. "I'll take care of Harry and you stop…"

Zatanna was giving her scary friend orders but he had already mysteriously vacated the back row.

"And they say that you can't apparate at Hogwarts," Zatanna mused wistfully.

Batman slinked under the stands towards the Slytherin area. He took a brief moment to try and figure out who was attacking Harry but couldn't since he could only see their backs. If only he could have seen Pansy's eyes glowing bright blue as she tried and failed to mess up Harry's flying again. Batman took a gray ball from his pocket and slammed it against the bleachers which sent several Slytherins into a coughing fit. By the time anybody could recover, Batman was already back in his seat.

The score was 50-40 in Gryffindor's favor when Thomas Bradley sat down. Draco had taken advantage of Harry's misfortune with a fit of laughter.

"What's the matter Potter?" Draco chortled. "Did you forget how to fly?"

"I guess I'm out of practice," Harry mused as he caught sight of the snitch out of the corner of his eye.

"I'd say so," Draco agreed.

"Just one more thing," Harry said.

"What?" Draco drawled.

"Bye!" Harry blurted out as he raced away and caught the Snitch, making Draco's face burn bright red.

On the ground, Draco had a serious case of sour grapes so he decided to cause trouble.

"I can't believe you won with that flying!" Draco cackled.

"Shut it!" Fred warned.

"Manners, Weasley!" Draco prodded. "But I guess they can't afford to teach you manners in that family."

"That's it!" George cried out as Fred and George jumped on Draco.

For a split second, Harry thought about joining in, but there was no way that he wanted to disappoint Zatanna again so he headed to the clubhouse to change.
