Chapter Nineteen

Imprisoned

Alibaster wore a frown on his face as the events on the street progressed. A man by the name John Stanley was just found murdered in the Thames River. He was a man that worked under Queen Victoria and so Ciel was under orders to retrieve a certain item from him. Alibaster and Victor happily went along with Ciel and Sebastian, seeming as how Aurora happened to disappear for the last few days; even Melony didn't know where her sister was.

"Is something wrong, my Lord?" Sebastian asked the child as the group sat in his carriage. "I must say you seem even more tassel-turned this afternoon."

Ciel wore a frown. "And I should have a pleasant one while investigating a murder?"

"You're far too modest sir. You misheard me. I would never say you don't look pleasant." Sebastian smiled.

Alibaster frowned at the demon that sat across from him. "You are really starting to piss me off."

"Oh Lord," Victor sighed to himself, glancing out the window.

Sebastian gave him a soft smile. "Oh? And why is that, My Lord?"

"Need you really ask?" The man glared at him. "You're a strong creature and yet you let this little brat here control you and insult you the way he does."

"This has nothing to do with you, Drakeford, so stay out of it." Ciel told him.

"Shut up until you're talked too, Phantomhive," Alibaster told the child. Ciel looked shocked and just watched as the older Lord turned back to the demon. "And you see it as a game."

"Aurora did too, once." Sebastian replied.

"Yeah, once. But she's not in this but since you brought her up, I don't like the thought of you being close to her, bird-boy. She may have forgiven you for the beating you gave her to get my uncle's soul but I sure as hell haven't."

"Neither…neither have I." The soft voice joined them and they turned to look at Victor as he continued to stare out the windows.

Sebastian gave a small smile. He had almost forgotten that Victor had been there that night all those years ago as the mute that had grown attached to Aurora as much as Vincent Phantomhive had.

"This case just makes me a bit uneasy," Ciel admitted, trying to change the course of the conversation before something seriously bad broke out. "Clearly we don't have all the information." Sebastian gave a smile.

Alibaster gave a frown. He hadn't been there for the meeting that Ashe held with Sebastian and Ciel. At that morning, Alibaster was more worried about Aurora disappearing that anything else.

"To give starters, little boy," The elder man began. "You need a better understanding of the situation before you try and do anything."

"Meaning what, sir?" Sebastian asked him.

"Find out why the man was murdered," Victor replied, glancing back at them. "There's really no other way to start this."

Alibaster gave a small smile. "Indeed."

"Was he simply at the wrong place at the wrong time?" Ciel asked.

"Or was it because of his work with the Queen?" Sebastian joined in. "How do we go about locating witnesses, assuming there are any."

Ciel closed his eyes. "We leave that part to the Yard for now. If you want to ask about Rome, you ask Rome. We know in whose territory the murder occurred."

"And whose would that be?" Alibaster asked.

"That would be Lau's," Victor answered.

"Oh Lord, not that freaky Asian dude," Alibaster sighed as the carriage came to a stop.

"It is so, I'm afraid," Ciel told him, exiting the carriage.

Alibaster gave another frown before following the other three down into the smoke-filled halls of the building. He pulled out a handkerchief and held it over his nose, disliking the smell and taste he received.

"This place is foul," Ciel commented, staring at all the men smoking around the room.

"I see you have finally found your way to my humble place of business," A voice chuckled from further in the room. "It seems so strange that we must meet under such questionable circumstances, my young Lord, and yet inevitable, don't you think?" Alibaster cocked a brow at the giggles of young girls. "I must say, I always know some day that it might come to this."

As the smoke cleared, Lau appeared to them on a couch, COVERED in more of those Chinese women he so liked.

"Kickin', man," Alibaster grinned, giving the other man a thumbs-up.

Ciel pulled a face. "It might come to what?"

Lau gave a grin. "Welcome to my humble house of pleasures, darling Earls."

Ciel stared at him. "If you're trying to show you wares, forget it. The only thing you have that I want is information."

"Dude," Alibaster looked at Ciel like he was stupid. "You're gay, aren't you." It was more of a statement than a question.

"Shut it, Drakeford!" The boy growled.

"So impatient for such a young man," Lau shook his head. "If you think I know something that would make it worth you wild to venture so bravely into my den then you're quite right."

"So you already heard what happened then. I thought as much. But what should I expect from the head of the English Branch of the Chinese Trading Company?" Ciel sighed. "Much less of a member of the Chinese Mafia's Shanghai Green Gang."

"Oh dear. I have never such carried for fancy titles such as that one." Lau smiled.

Alibaster gave a sigh as the talking continued and gave a glance around the room again. Lau soon led them upstairs to his upper chambers. The room was nice and felt home-y but he wanted to get out of here so fast and was just about to excuse himself when his eye caught something on the couch beside Lau. It was a red jacket slung over the arm. "Victor," He called out, pointing towards the couch. The man responded by grabbing it and bringing it back. Alibaster only had to stare at it for a moment to realize his thoughts were true; he turned a glare towards the Chinese man.

"Where is she?"

Lau turned towards him. "Where is who, my Lord?"

"Aurora, dammit! Don't tell me that you just found this jacket it the streets and decided to bring it home with you!"

Lau gave another smile. "Why, of course Lady Aurora was here; she just left it last night after her visit."

"What was she doing here?" Sebastian asked.

"I'm afraid that those are private matters between the Lady and myself," Lau shook his head. "She asked me to keep it secret if you were to come around and look for her. I can assure you she's under no harm, though. She's just…taking a break, as one would call it."

"Bullshit," Alibaster dropped into a seat, crossing his arms with a furious frown ass he listened to the conversation of the room. There was apparently a new drug out on the market, under the name of Lady Blanc.

"What the hell kind of name is that for a drug?" Alibaster asked.

"The White Lady," Ciel commented, remembering that fiendish angel woman. "Do you know why it was given that name?"

"Is it important?"

Alibaster watched as Ciel flushed and turned is head. "Uh, no."

"What's the name of the man they round at the dock?" Lau asked. "Perhaps I will have heard of him."

Sebastian moved forward with a bit of paper. "It was John Stanley. I'm afraid it's likely that was an alias, however."

Lau gave a sigh. "He doesn't look familiar to me. And to think I flattered myself to think I knew all the small-time drug-pushers in the area." He showed the picture to his girl but she didn't recognize him, either.

"I am looking for something this man was supposed to have had," Ciel continued. "He was carrying it on his person."

"Just something?"

"Yes. And it's possible this something was the reason why he was killed in cold-blood. This is why I have something I would like you to do for me."

"And what is that, my dear Earl?"

"I want you to spread a rumor about me," The child answered. "Let it be known that I am in possession of something valuable from the man that was murdered."

Alibaster gave a snort and turned to Victor. This kid was starting to annoy him beyond that of normal words. "Shall we head home before we get involved in this? Who knows, maybe even Aurora is back and she'll be able to knock some sense into this little brat."

But she wasn't there. They sat there for another two days but Aurora didn't show up and not even a word. Alibaster was starting to get extremely worried. Even Pluto seemed to be missing the female demon and sat at Alibaster's feet, giving a soft whine every now and then.

"Where are you, Aurora?" Alibaster asked, running another hand down Pluto's head.

Alibaster didn't want to admit it be he was extremely worried. He felt lost without his Aunt there beside him, blood aunt or not. He wanted more than to just know that she was alright; he wanted her here beside him.

Ciel and Sebastian had taken off again that night to do some more on this mission but Alibaster hadn't felt like going as he sat there on the back steps of the Mansion, watching out over the garden. It was getting darker and he was finally about to turn in for the night when Victor burst outside with a terrible look on his face.

"We got a problem, Alibaster!" He growled.

"What is it?" the man asked, glancing at him.

"Lau has been charged with drug trafficking. Ciel as well. Sebastian has been taken to the Tower of London."

"Aurora is not going to like this." Alibaster stood up. "We might be searched for as well since we are known to be around the Phantomhive."

"Indeed, but what is it you plan to do?" Victor asked him.

He gave a grin and rubbed Pluto behind his ears again. "That's not the question you should ask. The question is who do we save; Sebastian or Phantomhive?"
