A/N: Hey guys, I honestly didn't expect this next chapter to be put out so early. I guess I'm ready for it to end lol. Only two more chapters left. This chapter is super long than any previous chapters I believe. It was 22 pages long on my computer, so take your time reading it. I guess I just got really into it but the read is super worth it. It's also a really more graphic and mature one. Alchohol mention, cursing, sexual innuendos, same-sex sex mentions, and physical fights. So yeah, y'all are in for a ride. Enjoy!
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel
White Plains, New York – Westchester County
January, Friday 29th
7:12 P.M.
The immaculate, white Bentley limo the Block's used for special occasions pulled up to the nearly crowded curb of one of New York's finest hotels. The vehicle discretely but materialistically announced their presence to the throngs of BOCD's worst and best dressed who gaped at them while standing on the chalky sidewalk. The limos polished reflection cast iridescent glares on the hotel's side. How could Massie deny the extravagance? The Pretty Committee and their dates always had to make an entrance wherever they went!
"Wait until we get out," Massie said to the bustling limo. She looked absolutely stunning with her light blue dress studded with Swarovski on the bodice with a plunging, but appropriate neckline. The bottom part faded from the top and was shaped in a big, white puff of tulle. The silver drop earrings that she had spent nine hundred tickled the edges of her collarbone. She didn't want to be too cocky but she looked better than anyone. "We're going to be the stars of the show." She fiddled with the white corsage on her right hand and laid it on top of Landon's and intertwined their fingers together. Then, she used the other one to take a drink of the bubbling champagne. She stopped to look over the rim of the glass and observed her crew for the night. Her, Landon, Dylan, Josh, Claire, Zach, Alicia, some weird Briarwood guy Massie bribed to be Alicia's date, Skye, and Ashton, Skye's on-and-off boyfriend. This would be fun!
"What?!" Massie heard Claire yell over the music booming loudly from the speakers. A rap song that was obscene enough to make Principal Burns suspend someone upon hearing it in the hall at school vibrated through the seats.
Massie waved her hand towards Isaac who was rubbing his temples in protest of the song. He let out a sigh of relief as he turned the song down to regular volume. "Who's ready to fucking party?!" Massie screamed. She took another gulp of champagne when everyone cheered and wooed in celebration.
Isaac stopped the limo towards the back where a line had formed to get inside the Winter Formal. Massie hurriedly took out her Chanel compact to reapply her golden highlighter that shined on her cheeks. She finished just in time for Isaac to open the door like he was servicing the Duchess. Massie slid out first with Landon on her arm as everyone's head turned around to gaze at whoever was coming out the limo. When Massie stepped out with her clique in tow, to her amazement, all the BOCD people lined up started clapping. She felt like she was Beyonce or something as they stood at the back of the line looking as if they were intimidating models at a post-Oscars dinner with everyone staring at them. She could glimpse The Plastics and their dates further up looking at them with pouts on their lips.
Massie bit her lip as the cold pierced her skin; The Pretty Committee refused to wear their coats because it would take away from their outfits. Instead, they relied on their dates to give up their pressed tuxedo jackets to warm their bronzed skin up. She ignored the shivers and turned around to make sure her chattering friends all looked spectacular. But surprisingly, they did. Dylan looked fabulous in her dress that complimented her curves perfectly, Claire's new, platinum blonde hair was slicked back with perfection, and Alicia pulled off her seductive look with red lipstick. She took out her iPhone and made Landon take a picture of all four of them looking super sexy.
After they finished taking pictures, individually, as a clique, and with the boys it was time for the dance to begin and the line started to move. "Yay!" Dylan screamed although she looked more anxious than excited. She tugged at Josh's arm and tried her best not to look at the sour glares Alicia was shooting at her.
Massie looped her arms around the girls and they strutted in their heels together, the sun going down behind them making them look like heaven-sent goddesses. The wind blew perfectly through their voluminous curls and blowouts. It was like living out a modeling photo shoot with your best friends and hot dates behind you.
After they checked in, they walked into the grand lobby that had been transformed into a stunning, winter theme. The sound of their stilettos echoed through the vast space but came to a halt as they stared at the décor around them. White trees with fairy lights twisted around the bark hung over in an arch that followed a long, light blue carpet with sparkling lights. Perfectly manicured ice sculptures of Cupid stood at the opening shining from within. The lights were turned out in favor of blue spotlights on the carpet. The girls and the guys walked down the carpet in complete awe. They were too shocked to even notice the Marvilous Marvils crew trailing behind them. Briarwood and Octavian had outdone themselves!
The shock continued as they walked into the ballroom, this is where the real dance begun! The whole was transformed into an icy, winter palace. Sheer curtains covered most of the ceiling with a night sky and animated snowflakes peeking out. The tables were draped in silk and a blue bow wrapped in the center. Giant white candles took up most of the space next to white roses and glass dinnerware. The Chivari chairs had little black petals spread around them. Photo booths with icicles and more of the Cupid sculptures were placed in four corners of the room. The dance floor was made of non-slip ice as well with frozen roses inside. New York's famous DJ was up in an ice booth blasting Lovefool on his MAC laptop and dancing along with everyone. It was almost too much for Massie to comprehend.
They all walked over to grab a table near the stage lined with a silver backdrop curtain. Before they all had the chance to sit, waiters and waitresses bustled around them to fill their glasses to the brim with water. They asked them if they wanted to start off with appetizers then work their way up to the main entrée. "Yes. please." Massie said for everyone who was still shocked. "Thank you." She sat down and motioned for everyone to do the same. She wanted to bask in their increasing popularity for a few minutes, then they could get it really going.
They couldn't even get up anyway because girls and guys were flanking around their table, shoving their phones and notepads in their faces. Massie flipped her auburn-colored hair over her shoulder and used a Montblanc pen to scrawl her signature on the back of Tatiana's Meyer's freckled back. This was all part of her plan! Massie had chosen twenty BOCD students to kiss their asses for twenty dollars. She talked to Larry in secret and of course, he had cosigned the idea, because this made for new, dramatic storylines, popularity, and in turn, $$$. So what, Massie thought as clawed her black nails through Landon's hair to show an ugly OCD girl flirting with him that he was Massie's date. This was fake popularity. No one needed to know. Sienna would just wonder why some of them were kissing her ass all of a sudden.
"Speak of the devil," Dylan muttered out the side of her lips. She pointed her head in the direction of Sienna and her entourage, making their way towards them.
Massie's heart thumped in anticipation as they took their time. The whole room was in a flurry of loud gossip as the girls tightened their corsages and the guys brushed off their tuxedo jackets for any lingering lint. Massie could practically feel Larry and his crew breathing down her neck as the shushed everyone and announced they were rolling.
The Plastics finally made their tanned, skinny bodies to the table and Massie had to admit they looked good. The twinkling lights from overhead made their dresses sparkle and the diamonds studs in their ears wink proudly. Obviously, Sienna Miller looked the most gorgeous. She resembled the twenty-something social elites that lived in Upper East Side penthouses and were friends with Kylie Jenner. She oozed a confident aura that made Massie's skin prickle with envy. Her dress that was rumored to cost over one thousand dollars clung to some of her curves, her ass, and her large boobs. It was a two piece dress that had a high neckline fashioned in a halter top, crystals covered most of it with blue and white silk peeking out. The other half was a tulle skirt that changed from blue to white whenever she moved and had flecks of diamonds. Her dress brought an immense glow to the table.
Massie didn't even bother to look at the girls because it was nothing as spectacular as Sienna's. Their dates were a different story. Sienna and Cam. Idina and Briarwood's newest it player, Timothy. Bella and Dempsey. Behind them, a small group of the Briarwood soccer boys and their A-list dates tagged along, wanting to be a part of the action. One of them was Derrick Harrington and Hayley Bradwell. Massie rolled her eyes in disgust.
Finally, Sienna took two steps forward and stood tall in front of Massie. Massie crossed her legs and folded her arms against her chest to signify Sienna or her entourage didn't faze her. "Massie Block…" Sienna drawled her name out. "You're looking amazing. So does your clique and your dates, I suppose." She sneered and surveyed the table, locking her eyes on Massie and Claire's for the longest. "You should enjoy this while you can because after tonight you won't be anything." She laughed and everyone behind her busted into fake, rehearsed laughs. Cam was the only one who seemed to be uncomfortable with the whole thing. "Now, continue playing like you're famous with these people that I know you hired." She smirked. "We're gone."
Massie could feel a flame of fiery roll through her stomach. She curled her fist in her lap and Landon wrapped a protective arm around her. "Do you have anything other to do than bitch?" Massie fired at Sienna with as much as venom she could possibly muster. Sienna cackled again like she knew exactly what Massie would say. She snapped her long, talon fingers twice and her entourage left in the white fog that was being spewed out from a machine. After they left, the crowd around them dispersed and trailed off to different sides of the room. Massie felt completely embarrassed as nearly everyone in the room knew she had hired these BOCD LBRs to fuel their popularity. "Turn off the cameras!" she barked at Larry, but he was gone anyway, trying to get some shots of Sienna.
The table went silent for a minute and everyone looked at Massie for instructions but she was just as lost. Luckily, she was saved by Gawd when DJ Kiss bellowed in the microphone, "Who's ready to get crunk? I wanna see all of you on the dance floor! Here's Paris by Kanye West and Jay-Z!" Everyone instantly crowded towards the ice dance floor as the beat dropped. Massie could see the chaperones surrounding the floor and making sure no girls were trying to grind on their dates.
"Let's go!" Claire screeched. She took Zach's hand and led him off to the floor where she seemed to be focused on dancing in front of Cam and Sienna.
Dylan and Alicia stared at Massie to ask if they could go. Massie waved her hand, the diamond rings on her friend clashing against one another, and nodded. They both rocketed off towards the dancing where not even a whole minute later chaperones had to pull off guys trying to hump girls from behind. Massie sat back in her seat, taking a sip of water to clear her head and turned to Skye, Landon, and Ashton. "Phase one, success," Massie announced triumphantly. "But, it was real embarrassing." She added. That whole thing was orchestrated by Skye, Landon, and Massie into tricking Sienna that they were all vulnerable.
"Acting skills were great," Skye noted and plucked focaccia off a passing waiter's appetizer tray. She dipped it into a small bowl of marinara centered on the table. "Phenomenal."
I guess those drama classes she had taken in London paid off. "Well, I tried." She said and shivered. It seemed the temperature was cold in here as well to go with the theme. "Are we all set?" she asked them for probably the fifth time. Landon was in charge of the video, Skye was in charge of lights, Ashton was in charge of audio, and Massie was in charge of making everything go smoothly. "Yes, ma'am. I have the USB." Landon said and smiled. Massie couldn't help it but felt a smile play on her lips too and couldn't stop thinking about how good he looked.
"E-nuff romance, please." Skye rolled her blue eyes. The comment was ironic coming from her considering she wouldn't stop sucking Ashton's face in the limo and acted like they were going at it. "But we do."
Massie nodded her head in satisfaction. Tonight everything Sienna had made was going down in flames.
"Alright, alright." DJ Kiss yelled after the song ended. "Let's all settle down. It's time to make way for the lovebirds." The room was bathed in hazy blue lights and fog curled quietly around the floor. The roses embedded in the ice changed to a red color and the mood in the room changed towards a more settled one. "Can I have this dance, madam?" asked Landon. He rose from his chair and extended his hand out. It was so cheesy but Massie loved him for it. "Yes, you can." She said and blushed, ignoring the look Skye gave her that said Massie was getting it on tonight. Landon whisked her away towards the floor like Prince Charming and Cinderella. The floor was cold but the bodies radiating heat around them seem to make it up. She couldn't stop grinning at Landon as they moved effortlessly through the floor. They pretended they were in their own fairyland and avoided the nasty, Briarwood guys taking a swig from Kemp Hurley's flask.
Landon twirled her around a couple of times and dipped her down. When he brought Massie up, he moved his face closer to hers. Massie's chest did a little whirl as her lips were centimeters away from Landon's. Nothing mattered at this point. It felt like they were all by themselves. The physical tension or should she say, sexual was so deafening. "Massie." Landon breathed out. "You look stunning." He looked her up and down. Massie beamed at him and said, "Thank you." Landon laughed and licked his lips nervously like he was about to say something. Massie beckoned him to say it, her heart beating faster under her dress. "I really like you," he sighed. "I do. Will you be my girlfriend?"
Massie could practically feel the fireworks going off in her chest. She wanted to scream and say yes over and over again. She relaxed and said, "Yes. Of course." Landon breathed a sigh of relief and started to lean towards her. Massie did the same and their lips connected. They kissed for a few seconds then broke it off before some chaperone could chide them. She could hear The Pretty Committee shrieking in excitement and BOCD's students gossiping madly wishing that could've been them. Massie tuned everything out and focused on her new boyfriend. "Um," she looked down, feeling like Landon before he asked her out moments ago. "Would you want to..?"
Landon lifted her chin up. "Get out of here later and do things.." he smirked as if he was thinking of the same thing Massie was. "Of course, babe."
The slow song ended and everyone ascended back to the floor as the Wobble started playing. Massie who hated dancing, walked away abruptly, hand in hand with Landon. They walked back towards their table where Claire couldn't keep her hands off of Zach and Dylan was gulping down appetizers faster than Derrick had ditched Hayley. The girls both looked up and silently congratulated Massie for being the girlfriend of one of Westchester's finest. Massie collapsed into her chair and leaned close to the candle in the center to warm her up. Landon went to go use the restroom and Massie couldn't help but spill the details to the girls.
"So, you're basically telling us, you're getting D tonight?" asked Dylan. She seemed a bit tipsy taking drinks from Josh's flask but still had a bit of common sense lingering in her. Massie could only hope she wouldn't get too drunk. "Maybe." Massie blushed and thought about it. She had waited for this moment but thought it would better to wait. Claire smiled at her and pulled down her dress a bit for Zach to see. "Well, good luck! Just remember the plan!" she exclaimed. Massie nodded. There was no way she was forgetting!
She was nearly bored and ready to go when the devil, Sienna, no doubt came flouncing towards the table again. Silver glitter trailed from the dance floor to where she stood now. Massie could feel the apprehension zinging through the air and wanted to drag Sienna away. Whatever was about to happen, wasn't acting.
Zach and Josh who both seemed to be hitting it off and could sense a fight moved their conversation towards another table.
"What?" Massie snapped when the bobblehead-looking girl stopped in front of her. She was already annoyed of seeing Sienna, especially from the loads and loads of selfies and pictures with her on Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. What could this bitch possibly want now? "I just wanted to tell you, you're not shit." Sienna chimed, taking pride in what she just said. Massie stared at her dumbfounded because so many jealous LBRs made those comments and now it didn't even bother her. "And you said this, because?" Massie raised her eyebrow. She looked at Dylan and Claire and shook her head. The girl was clearly delusional.
"Because," Sienna stated as if it was obvious. "You think you can knock me down a few pegs! Make your way back to popularity!" she waved her finger in Massie's face. "No, bitch, you can't!"
Massie could feel the anger radiating inside of her and this time it was all real. "Uh, Mass." Claire gulped nervously from her left. "You need to calm down." But Massie refused to, she had kept everything under wraps until now. She wasn't going to be bullied by some girl who was a carbon copy of her. "You really need to shut up, Sienna." Dylan promptly came to Massie's defense. "You're just a sorry, pathetic bitch that has nothing to do.." she rambled on, not holding back anything she wanted to say. Massie could see the hurt in Sienna's eyes and wondered what the story behind that was.
Sienna put her arm on her hip and three stacked Cartier bracelets reflected off her wrist. Apparently, she didn't want the simple tradition of a corsage but wanted to show off her wealth. How pathetic! "I fucking made all this shit!" She snapped and morphed into Sienna the She-Hulk. She looked real crazy now like she was going to start fighting. "You bitches just can't stand the thought of someone being better than you. Prettier, more likable, and thinner." She gave a pointed glance towards Dylan.
Massie stood up and accidentally knocked the table. Some of the silverware and the fresh, well-done steaks fell on the marble floor. "You need to shut your mouth! All these new cliques… they were influenced by me." Massie swiftly reminded Sienna in case she forgot. She towered over the fuming alpha and dared her to pick another fight. She had tonight, tomorrow, and whenever. "I'm tired of you running your damn mouth. You don't know shit, you're an ugly slut." Massie spat. Sienna slightly flinched but refused to back down. "Me?! Your face is so fucked, not even the Kardashian's surgeon can fix that mess. You look like an off-brand, uglier version of Leighton Meester." She fired back. A new crowd had formed and watched as the girls hurled their best insults at each other.
The Pretty Committee and The Plastics looked on and realized they couldn't save their alphas. They were fighting their own battles now.
"Stupid crusty bitch!" Sienna shouted over the roaring voices. She reached over and ripped the drop earrings out of Massie's ear. She threw them on the ground and crushed them with the heel of her Louboutin. "Slut!" Massie called back, tugged on Sienna's ugly hair and ripped out a couple of strands. The crowd gasped with every bit of the fight escalating into something more. Sienna pushed Massie into the table and picked up Dylan's glass of water. She doused it into Massie's face expecting all her makeup to come off but it was all waterproof. "Trying to let the world see who you really are under all that makeup," she threw the cup at Massie's head. Then, she ran full speed to attack Massie and pull off the diamonds on her dress. "Get off of me!" Massie squirmed underneath while Sienna tried to advertently destroy her dress. She slapped Sienna twice in the face and the ugly girl banged her head on a table leg. "Kiss! Kiss!" The Briarwood boys chanted, but it only fueled Massie more.
She sat on Sienna's back and elbowed her hard in the ribs. "Ow!" Sienna screeched. She turned to face Massie with her face looking like Instagram makeup gone wrong. "You'll fucking pay. I'll make your life hell." She flipped herself over so she was on top of Massie and rained down a couple of slaps. Massie curved her hands around to choke Sienna, ready to finish it off but someone pulled her away.
A chaperone blew a whistle, taking full advantage of her job and pointed towards the girls. Massie thrashed in the arms of Landon who pulled her away. She didn't care about getting into trouble. "Stop it, Massie," he begged her. She didn't want to and tried to squeeze out of his tight grip. Sienna still had her hands tangled in her hair but let go when Cam dragged her backward. "This is not over!" Sienna boomed. She swatted away the throngs of people that came to her aid and asked if she was okay; even the chaperones kissed up to her ass! They all crowded and asked if Sienna thought they should remove Massie when it was her that threw hands first.
"What are you doing?!" Landon asked. They were now in the lobby where disapproving glares were being thrown their way. "You're making this worse!" he handed Massie her belongings. The Pretty Committee and Skye ran out the doors and rushed over to ask Massie if she was alright. Massie could feel an annoying pressure inside of her and wanted to scream. There were too many people in her ear at one time. "Gawd!" she replied angrily. "I'm leaving. Skye, Landon, and Ashton let's go. We need to get set up anyway." She headed for the doors, knowing that the chaperones would force her to leave anyway. They saw no fault with Sienna. "Dylan, you're in charge. You have Isaac's number. Remember the time to be there." Massie needed to leave ASAP before she blew up again.
No one followed her to the door and that's how Massie wanted it. She didn't need anyone in her personal space, clamoring all around. Landon went to call an Uber to escort them over to Sienna's house. Skye and Ashton talked about the arrangements, rehearsing over their parts. Dylan and Claire had gone back inside which only left Alicia. She sidled up to Massie like an annoying pest and said, "Dylan is still in The Plastics. You know that, but don't want to believe it." Massie turned around, suddenly very annoyed with Alicia and how her presence could just be so irritating. "I'm not in the mood for this, so please, be quiet. If it is true, I'll take it up with her at the party." She told her. Alicia looked stung but Massie couldn't bring herself to care, she had other things to worry about. "Just go away."
She watched Alicia retreat away and relaxed.
Next stop: Sienna's takedown.
Alicia's POV
Just go away.
Alicia pretended the weight of those words didn't stab her right below her ALDO statement necklace. The way Massie said it with raw annoyance and anger was almost akin to saying "Leave me alone, I don't want you to bother me anymore". She felt as if Massie was trying to end their crumbling friendship right then and there. She was still blaming her for something that was Dylan's fault, but what could she do? Massie refused to believe the rumors curling around like tendrils of poison. So, why did Alicia keep trying? It was clear that Massie just allowed her back into The Pretty Committee as social arm candy and would kick her to the curb after tonight ended.
Alicia turned from where she could see Massie's reflection staring at her in the polished glass. She stepped back and turned around to go back to the dance. She walked through the arch of white trees, feeling the tears forming in her eyes. Her black patent heel got caught up in a tangle of cords and she yanked it out furiously, falling to the ground. She jumped back up, ignored some of the giggles from some people nearby, and ran back into the dance.
Years ago, Massie would have never even thought to say something like that to her. What happened to being civil? They're best friends. Well, were. They shared all their secrets and got Japanese perms together. But now, Massie hated her and had traded her in for the fat, ugly, and gross Dylan. Alicia tilted her head back to prevent the tears from ruining her halo eyeshadow and liner. The sadness that she harbored for the past weeks or so from being rejected slowly turned into anger and hate. It was still directed towards Dylan but new hate was blossoming for Massie. Fuck her. When everything comes crashing and Dylan betrays her, Massie will be pissed she didn't listen to Alicia. The whole Pretty Committee will far apart. But for God sake, I hope Sienna does kick her sorry ass again at the party.
Alicia sat back down at the table and huffed in a tremor of nervous excitement. She couldn't wait for this war to be over with and the repercussions that would follow—especially for The Pretty Committee. She brushed her dress down to make sure she still looked presentable and stared at herself in her glass's reflection. She wore a long sleeve black dress with a slit in the side and a neckline full of diamonds and lace at the top. Massie had picked out the dress for her but seemed to hate it when she saw Alicia in it for some reason. Her makeup had been kept simple with red lips, silver and white eyeshadow, eyeliner, a minimal foundation to cover her bruise, and highlighter. As she stared at herself, she realized why Massie was upset. It was because she looked better than her.
"Hey." Grant Foster sat down in his seat next to Alicia's. She rolled her eyes and gave him a look that said she was in the middle of something. "How are you enjoying the dance?" he asked. This was the guy Massie had picked as her date. He had curly, shoulder-length brown hair, green eyes, and pale skin. He was cute but everything else about him wasn't. He was in the Briarwood debate club, played on the failing Lacrosse team, and had an obsession with women celebrity's feet. He was a total creep and Alicia wondered if Massie did this as some sick joke. "Okay." She said abruptly and tried to avoid the conversation he was about to start.
For a few minutes, Grant talked about the BOCD social hierarchy and how he didn't get why everyone was obsessed with the soccer players when it should be the lacrosse players. When he realized Alicia had no interest in that topic, he lowered his voice and whispered, "Want to makeout?" His hot breath sent chills down Alicia's spine and she jumped up. "Ew, no!" she snapped at him. Her phone pinged loudly from her clutch and Alicia used it as a distraction to get away from him. Grant muttered something about her being a bitch and went to flirt with the lonely girls standing on the walls. Alicia ignored him, knowing he would be clamoring over her again in an hour or so and opened her clutch.
Goldbird: I want each of you on the lookout right now. Stalk your units. I'm hearing some very interesting things. Let's get the most lemonade we can squeeze out on the girls right now. And I'm watching, so don't try slacking off.
Alicia felt another stab go through her heart. She suddenly remembered that the party was the make and break, for not only her but the A-team. They could either be spending the night in prison or drinking victory martinis. Whichever one it was, Alicia was super anxious to see how everything turned out. She knew before she could even gloss her lips, the plan would be over just like that. Even the plan Massie had constructed! Alicia could feel the sweat creeping down the middle of her breasts as she thought about all of it. She moved her legs towards the dancefloor and tried her best to spot Dylan.
Dylan and Massie were her units, but Massie was leaving, so she fired a quick text to Goldbird about Massie going to set up with Skye, Landon, and Ashton. She tucked her phone back in her clutch and tried to locate Dylan in the masses of people. Alicia felt nearly dizzy looking at the dresses with similar prints and colors along with the matching tuxedos swirling around the ice floor. It was seriously nauseating. Dylan, however, stuck out like a sore thumb with her fiery red fishtail braid and terrible, tacky sequin silver prom dress. She was in the middle of the floor dancing to a mashup of Fancy/Black Widow with everyone egging her terrible dance moves on. One of those people being her former boyfriend, Josh Hotz.
Alicia forced the tide of anger down in her as she saw Josh come up behind Dylan and kiss her neck softly. She pressed back into him and let out the fakest giggle she could muster. It hurt Alicia, but she moved forward in the people, the hate for Dylan growing stronger and stronger. She stood a few inches away from Dylan and turned her back to make it not so apparent she was watching her. She shifted towards another direction when Larry came barreling through, knocking over kids with their glasses and trying to capture action shots of Dylan. Why did everyone think/act she was the bane of popularity? Alicia rolled her lined eyes and craned her head around.
She scanned the ballroom to see if she could point out any other girls that looked like they were stalking The Pretty Committee or The Plastics. She knew she should be focusing on the current task at hand but she wanted to know what her counterparts looked like. A waiter dressed in a white suit and frost streaks in his hair passed by with fizzy white drinks with blueberries on his silver tray. Alicia took a cup off the tray and threw her head back to take a big gulp. God forbid, she makes it through this night!
The song ended and The Night We Met replaced the fast notes. "My feet hurt, I can't do another slow song," Dylan whined to Josh who just seemed excited to have Dylan's rear rubbing against his junk. "Let's sit down," she whispered in his ear and gave him a sultry grin. She made sure the cameras weren't pointed at them and leaned closer. "Then you can tell me everything you want to do with me tonight." She tugged on the lapel of his jacket and they walked back to their table.
Alicia almost vomited on her Steve Madden stilettos after she heard that exchange. Was she the only one not hooking up with anyone tonight? It was supposed to be Alicia and Josh, nawt Dylan and Josh. She shoved her glass into the hands of a confused Kemp Hurley and stalked after them. Alicia shoved the dozens of LBRs in her way but ended up bumping into a couple people—one being Bella Pendergast. She seemed shocked for a minute like she didn't expect to cross paths with Alicia but smiled. "Sorry." She said abruptly then left in a flash. Alicia wondered what that was about but there was no time to speculate. She walked over to the table where Claire looked bored trying to pine for Cam's attention and Dylan was feeding Josh cherries from the dessert. Occasionally, he would lean over to whisper something that was dirty.
"Hey, Leesh!" Claire bubbly chirped from her seat. She was practically spilling all over Zach who wasn't complaining about it. "Are you enjoying the dance?" Alicia quickly nodded and slid quietly into her chair next to Dylan's. She had no time for small talk and couldn't peel her eyes from the sight in front of her. Dylan and Josh were starting to go at it, kissing furiously, their hands groping all each other. Alicia wondered where the chaperones were and why they weren't doing their job. Not being able to watch any longer, she snapped, "Get a fucking room if you two are just going to dry hump."
She knew she had started something when Dylan's eyes cut to hers. "Do you have a problem?" she snapped back. Alicia crossed her arms and stuck out her neck, "Yeah it's you two." She fired. "My best friend making out with my ex. What kind of friend does that? And ex?" she shot a menacing glare at Josh. He seemed annoyed Alicia had broken up their sexfest. "We're not best friends." Dylan reminded her. "We're not even friends! And it's not my fault Josh liked me better than you." She stood up as if she was going to rush off from this but Alicia wouldn't let her. "No!" she roughly grabbed Dylan's arm and twisted her around. "Who the fuck do you think are?!" she spat and could feel Dylan's pulse speed up. "You slut, stealing my boyfriend! Then acting fast!"
Claire sighed and started to dial Massie's number, knowing a fight was on the way.
Around Alicia and Dylan, the cameras instantly popped out of nowhere. "I'm loving this!" Larry shouted from behind Camera #3. "Give me more!" Alicia couldn't help but grin because she could definitely give him the drama effect. "So, tell me why you stole my ex Josh, when you knew he broke up with me?" she repeated for the cameras. Dylan started to huff furiously. She couldn't afford to have another bad rep on camera. "I didn't!" she shouted. "He just liked me more!" she stuck her face up ever so haughtily. "I'm sorry you can't even get a guy to stand you for a couple of minutes." She nodded at Grant who had succeeded in getting a girl to talk about some weird subject.
"Ladies, ladies." Josh stepped in between them. He stumbled on the black rose petals but managed to keep them from going at each other's throats. "S-stop this mess. I just liked D-dylan because s-she was s-so much better than you A-licia. Massie this, Massie that. B-but Dylan was everything I wanted. I j-just used you." He slurred, saying it as if it was no big deal. Alicia was stung and could feel the heat rising to her cheeks. "You want her?" she said, her voice cracking in disbelief. "She's so fucking gross." Dylan took hold of Josh's arm who looked like he was going to vomit on the floors any minute.
"Yeah, he wants the fat bitch." She said. "The girl that you call ugly and fat. The girl that you made purge herself. He wants me. He doesn't want you because you're ugly on the inside and out."
Alicia couldn't process what was happening until her right cheek was stinging. Dylan had bitch-slapped her in front of everyone. She couldn't believe it all and watched her strut away with Josh clinging to her.
Dylan: 1 Alicia: 0
Dylan's POV
Dylan carefully guided Josh towards one of the hotel hallways. He seemed to be having trouble deciphering his right foot from his left. Dylan was too pissed to even notice and roughly dropped him into onto the checkered floors. She stood still, silently fuming while Josh slid down the walls roughly. How could Alicia make herself look like the victim? Had she really thought she was going to succeed in whatever fantastical plan she had orchestrated? Wrong! She would demand Massie to kick Alicia out after this stunt she pulled. She knew she wasn't thinking rationally but didn't care. She wasn't going to let Alicia bully and push her around.
A retching sound intruded into Dylan's thoughts and she looked down. Josh had just threw up into one of the potted plants. "Ohmygod," she sighed and knelt down. "How drunk are you?" she asked him, giving him a sip of water from the glass she brought outside. "I-I don't know," he gulped. "But that won't stop us." He leaned in to give her a kiss but Dylan moved her head. She had drunk some alcohol but nowhere near the amount Josh had. "You're so drunk." She told him. Could he even make it to the party at this point?
"That won't stop us from doing things." He teased her. Josh had been in her ear all night, telling her everything he planned to do and Dylan loved every second of it. But no way were they doing it when he was drunk and she was on her period! "I'm on my period." She told him. He made a sad face but understandably nodded. "You can still suck my dick though and I'll return the favor." He laughed. Dylan's face contorted into a disgusting expression and she shook her head. "Okay, yeah you need to stop. Stop being so disgusting.." she said. He didn't hear and started to absentmindedly hum the Beethoven song that was playing on the hotel speakers. He stopped for a minute to look up and say, "I can't wait to take Massie, that bitch, and her friends down." Dylan gaped at him as he shit talked her friends.
"There you are!" A voice cried from down the hall. Idina was running down the hall, trying to keep her dress from falling down her body. Sienna and Bella followed behind with a couple of Briarwood guys. Dylan rose slowly and felt her body break out in cold sweat. Was Sienna upset and coming to get her? No one could see them together! She highly doubted anyone from The Pretty Committee would though. Claire was all over Zach, Dylan had dragged Alicia and doubt she would be coming back, and Massie was gone. She could almost relax…. That is if no nosy Octavian girls came running down the hall.
Sienna walked over to her and stepped over Josh's feverish body. She had changed into a Sherri Hill dress with a silver, sequined off the shoulder top and a light blue chiffon layered ruffle skirt. She always had to do the most. "No one's going to see us." She muttered. Dylan looked over to Cam and the other soccer guys who surrounded Josh and were trying to give him a hand. "Cam won't say a word." She took Dylan's arm and walked her over to another hallway, leaving the guys to handle Josh and his vomiting.
"Ehmagawd!" Bella screeched. "What happened out there?" She was acting a little suspicious and kept looking at her phone that pinged with texts. "Alicia." Dylan replied and leaned on the wall. She undid the long fishtail braid that was starting to itch her back and tugged on the zipper of her dress. She suddenly felt super uncomfortable especially with Sienna giving her a death glare and not saying anything. Dylan waited for Sienna to tell her off about all those things Dylan rudely called her. Sienna finally spoke, but it wasn't a comment Dylan expected. "You look real gorgeous, tonight. Almost better than me." Sienna gave her a rare compliment. She hated people looking better than her but allowed Dylan to have that much. "You're still with me on the plan though, right?" she asked.
All three of them stared at Dylan and awaited her answer. As if Dylan would say no when The Plastics had her surrounded and could claw her eyes out with their heels, rings, and nails. "Yeah." She lied. "I'm kind of done. You saw Alicia practically attacking me and then Massie just ditching everyone. Real bitches." She tried to bring as much hatred into her words. She still had to play cool until the party. Sienna yawned and turned around to make Idina tighten her dress up. "Good," Sienna said. "But don't worry.. Alicia will be gone along with those other bitches. What's their plan for tonight?" she asked.
Dylan swallowed a lump in her throat. Of course, Sienna was smart, she knew The Pretty Committee would come out with their guns blazing. "They were going to make some statement and try to expose you." She lied again. It was halfway truthful! Sienna seemed to take that and turned around. "Okay, let's go back in. I'm not even worried about them. All of them and their dresses were ugly. And Massie attacking me…" she started to walk and the girls followed. "She's lucky I didn't press charges."
The conversation took a different turn and Idina triumphantly announced how she was going to seduce Derrick at the party since he dumped Hayley Bradwell on the floor. "I even have the lingerie on." She flashed them a quick peek of the red lacy bra she had on. As if the short short blue dress with a slit on the side, the transparent mesh top and diamonds covering her nipples, wasn't lingerie enough. Sienna had to pay an insanely shocked Principal Burns three hundred dollars to keep her mouth shut. "What about Timothy?" Dylan questioned. The rising Briarwood player that looked like a better version of Anthony Mackie hadn't passed up the offer to go with her. He actually seemed elated. "Doesn't matter," Idina flicked her fingers in the air. "I'm just doing this for Derrick." She tucked a stray hair that fell from the messy bun she wore behind her ear. "Oh, just keep your dress down," Bella giggled. "You'll have plenty time for Derrick tonight."
Sienna shook her head at the girls as they walked into the lobby.
Josh was sitting in a glass barstool near the bar, drinking a couple sips of water. He seemed to be doing okay now, but Dylan didn't want to bother him since he was with the boys and ran after the girls. They stepped through the arch, but Brookelynn Fey stood in their way. "Move!" Sienna snapped. Brookelynn sneered at her and they had an intense stare down. The former beta was the first to break eye contact and stared at Dylan. Dylan's arm was wrapped around Sienna's. Brooke and Sienna used to do it all the time when she was Sienna's best friend and the beta. "I can't believe you chose her!" Brooke huffed. "She's not even a good replacement for me! But that won't even matter anymore after the A-team takes you down!" she screamed and a chaperone ran over to avoid another scene from erupting.
"I want my dress, you ugly slut." Sienna called at her.
The Plastics shoved past Brooke and treated her as if she was another outsider. It stung Dylan as she saw the hurt on Brooke's face because she almost understood. It must've felt like someone stabbed you with a Charlotte Olympia stiletto when you saw your friends that were just your best friends last week ignore you. They couldn't talk to you even if they wanted because they had to follow by Sienna's rule.
The Plastics walked into the ballroom where everything seemed to be a mess. Chairs were scattered everywhere, the curtains from the ceiling were drooping, and the Cupid sculptures slowly melting. Dylan hung her head low and acted like she had just walked in coincidentally with The Plastics. "Uh, let's go dance." She whispered loud enough for The Plastics to hear but not anyone else. Alicia still sat at The Pretty Committee table with an angry look on her face and she refused to go over there. But Dylan had to keep her guard up, especially from Claire or even Kristen. "Okay," Sienna sighed. "The crew has basically trashed our table." She tilted her head to where cups were piled high on plates and candle wax had been spread everywhere. You could bring class, but you couldn't teach it to BOCD students.
The crowd slowly sucked them back into the action. It was halfway through the dance and apparently, no one had gotten tired of dancing yet. The girls had all pulled off their heels and were dancing all on the happy guys. Principal Burns, in her two-inch slingback kitten heels, started to pull couples showing too much PDA off the floor and demand for chaperones to call their parents. None of The Plastics seemed too concerned because they had the beady-eyed principal at their fingertips. They threw their arms up and swayed to the clean version of Anaconda.
Halfway through, Dylan felt a hand tap her on the shoulder. She blanched and expected Alicia to be there and reveal she had captured everything. Instead, it was Cole. She gaped at him not sure what to say. "Can we talk?" he asked. Dylan had no idea why he was trying to hit her up when he was Kristen's date. What could he possibly need to talk about? "Outside," she sighed. Dylan needed a fresh breath of air anyway.
They left and walked outside. The chilly wind howled loudly and the temperature had dropped a few degrees. Dylan moved to a wall with ivy crawling up the side. Cole followed and he faced her with a confused look on his face. "What?" asked Dylan. "Shouldn't you be with Kristen?" she sighed and started to shiver. Cole took off his jacket and draped it over Dylan's shoulders. Dylan refused to thank him and stared at the bright glares of traffic along the intersection. "Can we talk about our relationship?" he tried. "Why did you pull the plug?" The last thing Dylan wanted was to talk about their relationship. "Because," she explained. "It was just something to make me feel better. Nothing serious. But not going to lie, I couldn't bear to see you with any of my sisters, even if it was fake." She admitted. She had used him to make herself feel better but he had kind of used her too. "Bull," Cole inched closer "You had feelings for me. After I used you, you used me back and I deserved that. But you loved me."
Dylan looked into his eyes, almost on the brink of tears. He looked genuine when he said all that. "You probably don't even like Josh," Cole went on. "You're trying to make me jealous." And yeah, there Cole went with his stupid comments! "I do like Josh." She defended her boyfriend and shrugged off Cole's jacket. She didn't want another guy's cologne on her unless it was Josh's. "You're just upset that I do!" He looked out towards the street, not believing it, then stared into Dylan's eyes with a mixture of emotions. "I-I don't. I just, I love you," he said. "When we had sex that one time…" he stopped and closed his eyes. "I just, I don't know. I really loved you."
He walked closer and Dylan could feel the emotions shifting into something else. He leaned down and Dylan craned her head up. She breathed in his musky cologne as her lips touched his. For a minute, the kisses were soft and sweet, then they turned more passionate and hungry. Dylan yearned for this connection she didn't feel with Josh and kissed him harder. Cole kissed her neck and she let out a small moan. "I missed this," Dylan admitted. Cole stuck her tongue into his mouth and Dylan was enjoying it. Until…. She saw Josh's face in her mind, then Kristen. She shouldn't have remorse for Kristen but Dylan did. She pushed Cole away suddenly. "What?" Cole looked confused.
"This is wrong, Cole." She said, suddenly overcome with guilt from what just happened. "I'm with Josh and you like Kristen!" she hurriedly walked away. "Dylan!" Cole shouted. "No one has to know. We were just both feeling it!" Dylan wasn't listening and entered back into the lobby. She went over to the bar, where Josh was still sitting and asked for a glass of water. Had she really destroyed a relationship and eventually a friendship in one night? What was wrong with her?
She was slowly morphing into someone like Sienna.
Kristen's POV
Only an hour and forty minutes left of this dance. Kristen was seriously ready to call it a night. The back of her legs, her face felt itchy, and she could hardly breathe in her dress. But, the Friday night had only begun and the remaining hours were going to be chocked full of surprises. She could hardly wait for Sienna's party, just because she wanted to see if The Pretty Committee could pull anything off. However, she had other things to worry about, like her own clique, The Kweens.
They had arrived two hours late because Marsha insisted on taking a long way; doubled with her stopping by Wal-Mart. Kristen had a longstanding theory that Marsha didn't want her to mix with any of the people from BOCD because they could be potential bad influences. Kori and Kylie were upset about it but soon got over it after they entered the dance. There had been murmurs floating all around the ballroom as they pushed their way through the crowd. They all wore matching similar light, blue dress with white tulle that Kori had managed to make with all her mom's fashion supplies. She was sad Massie didn't get to witness it either. Apparently, she had left right before The Kweens could make the entrance. It was whatever, though, she would eventually hear about the new reigning trio.
She was still upset with them for leaving her when she was crying on her bathroom floor. They acted like it never happened and so did Kristen. She just wanted to have fun but could feel on the forefront for another fight.
Kristen was munching on a blueberry macaroon next to Allie-Rose Singer and some of her wannabe friends. All the B or C list cliques had taken the left side of the room while the popular ones sat on the right. Kori and Kylie had taken off their heels to dance to the Cha Cha Slide and were acting like two drunk girls on the floor. Jared and Matthew, their dates, were awkwardly bopping their heads with them. Kristen wondered where Cole was at, he had left twenty minutes ago in a hurry towards the floor like his feet was on fire. He had muttered something about going to mingle with an old pal but she hadn't seen him since.
As if her mind mixed with some supernatural entity, Cole flounced back to the table with an indiscernible look on his face. He looked as if he was lost about a whole the situation. The blue lights from the carpet made him look sweaty and confused. He was doused in an incredulous amount of cologne. "What's wrong, babe?" she grasped his hand under the table. No one had known they came together. She had spewed the same story about Cole being her overprotective cousin, chosen by her mom to accompany Kristen and keep her from trouble, eleven times. Cole had asked why she was making up stories but Kristen insisted she wanted to keep everything a secret until she was ready to tell. "Nothing," he looked frazzled and played with the satin table cloth bow. "My friend and I had an argument outside, that's all."
Kristen shrugged and glared at the girls who couldn't keep their eyes from Cole. Of course, he was an instant hit with everyone, being on the Marvilous Marvils and all. She had to step back at one point because he was being flooded constantly. "Okay," she smiled, only believing him halfway. "I can't wait for tonight. We'll finish everything." She said loudly and made sure all the other girls could hear. They twirled their curls and dared an envious look at Kristen. Kristen didn't care because, at the end of the day, he chose her. No other girls. Cole nodded, not sharing half of the enthusiasm he had earlier. Kristen left him alone and just chalked it up to him being bored with the dance.
Kori and Kylie suddenly came back to the table, laughing about Kemp Hurley peeing on himself because he was so drunk. The floor was cleared as some of the hotel staff rushed in with towels. Chris Plovert put an arm over his buddy and Matthew and Jared accompanied him. His date, Brookelynn Fey looked mortified that he made such an embarrassing situation. "Anyway…" Kori giggled. "We have a surprise for you!" she announced. Kristen wasn't sure what it was or what to think when Kylie waved over someone. Oh, Gawd. She took a sip of water to sooth her nerves.
A freckled, redhead boy stepped into the light. He wore a light blue tuxedo and had his hands tucked into his pockets. The golden flecks in his green eyes stood out in the muted colors. "Hi, my name is Hayden," he said. "I'm your date." Kristen had no idea what was going on. Did the girls really hire some average looking boy to be her date? Was this a prank? Her eyes flickered over towards Cole's who looked as lost as her. When they both realized The Kweens had set her up with Hayden, Cole's eyes bored an emotion of anger. "Wait, wait… You brought another guy to the dance when you were coming with me... Were you just using me for publicity?" he accused her.
She looked over to The Kweens to ask what was going on, but they were too proud boasting about Hayden. "He just got here. He should've been here waaaaay earlier…" Kori deadpanned. Hayden shrugged and said, "Sorry, I lost track of time and then New York traffic is crazy." Kylie looped an arm through his and smiled. "But he's here now, so that's all that matters." She said and her smile faded when she saw Cole's angry look and Kristen's shocked face.
"Kristen, tell them." Cole rudely demanded. Kristen couldn't blame him though because she had kept him as a secret and expressed interest in her, only to have her "friends" bring her a date. He didn't seem to know that though, but regardless, it looked like Kristen was using him just for publicity. Kristen scraped her chair back and stood, ready to calmly explain this, but it seemed no one wanted her to. "Look," she tried. "Cole is my date. We're kind of going out. We're not—"
The whole table seemed to gasp in disgust. They were still under the impression that Cole was her cousin and they were engaging in some sort of incestuous family ritual. "Oh my god!" Allie-Rose exclaimed. "Your fucking cousin!" she leaned away from Kristen like she had a contagious disease. "Wait until this gets around!" Becca Wilder screeched, already texting and sending the details to someone. Kristen could barely blink her black eyelashes before the gossip spread through the tables like wildfire. Kori and Kylie looked ashamed and Cole had no reaction surprisingly. This wasn't as rough for him as it was for Kristen.
"He's not my cousin, I lied about that part," Kristen shouted over the rapid chatters. The only people listening to her was Kori and Kylie, though. "It was supposed to be a surprise!" she slammed her foot down in pure frustration. She hadn't even had the chance to make a name for herself as Kristen the Alpha because now she was going to be known as the girl who dated her not cousin. "Wow, you lied?! Really dishonest." Kylie snapped in disbelief. "Why didn't you just tell us? We paid almost five hundred dollars to get Hayden to come…" Behind them, Hayden backed away warily, not wanting to be involved in this any longer. He was going to run for the door but Kori grabbed his arm. "No way, you're leaving! We paid too much for you!"
Kristen folded her arms across her chest, partly to state she was frustrated, but also because her dress was sliding down like a snake shedding its skin. "Oh, you're getting upset with me for being dishonest!" Kristen scoffed. She was so fucking tired. Kori and Kylie had been secretive all week and didn't even tell her about adding new members until today. "You guys have been so secretive! I can barely get a word out of you two. You keep making these ideas and rarely bring it up! You're both dishonest! I'm the Alpha!"
Kori sneered and almost started to laugh. "Because… it's boring. We do this because The Kweens are so boring. We know you won't greenlight, anything." She was partially right but they were just starting out, did they except for things to pick up over night? They acted like they didn't have brains. "I'm sorry, I'm not rich like Massie Block or Sienna Miller! You guys need to be patient!" Kristen shot back. They were supposed to be having fun, not arguing. "Well were done being patient!" Kylie said and smiled. She took off the charm bracelets they had made for The Kweens and threw it into the candle flame. Kori followed suit and the fire reduced it to complete ashes. Kristen gasped. 'You want to know why we acted like this?" Kylie asked.
Kristen rubbed her palms on her dress, not knowing what to expect. She could tell it wasn't good.
"We were using you!" Kylie screamed the response. "We didn't actually like you. We were testing you to see if you could be an alpha and get us to popularity. We used your money. We used you."
Kristen's heart tore into a million, little pieces. How couldn't she see that? Why did she trade in Massie like 2014 Manolo Blahniks for two wannabees? She steadied her hand on the table and grasped the satin cloth to keep from hyperventilating. She thought that was the end, but Kylie continued on with her verbal diarrhea. "We told Massie about you." Kylie declared like it was some notch she could put on her belt. "All about you being in The Kweens with us. We thought this would shake you and start taking things seriously. But nope, you were too hung on up that bitch." She finished. Kori stepped forward to chime in, "Not like we care because you're dead to us." They both turned on their stilettos, signaling the end of Kristen's short-lived popularity and clique. Hayden trudged along and shook his head.
"But, why?" Kristen screamed after them. She just wanted to know what she did to deserve this but the silhouettes of them faded. The dance, washed in many shades of blue and white, turned to a big blur as tears filled her eyes. How did that happen in less than ten minutes? She turned to Cole and hoped that he would grasp the situation whole but Kristen knew he wouldn't. She cast her eyes on Cole who already had his car keys in his hand ready to leave. He started to walk out stone-faced and acted like Kristen was some annoying fan. Kristen followed him and knew how pathetic she looked.
"I wasn't using you for publicity, I swear." She cried. Brown and black tears were staining her dress but she didn't care. She just wanted Cole to not leave and take her somewhere they could get lost in. "I don't care." He stopped at the threshold of the lobby and arrival entrance. "This is over with." He said in a way that startled Kristen. "You're just as fake as all those girls…" With that, Cole left Kristen sobbing heavily in the lobby. She clawed the door, watching his car light up and peel out the parking lot.
Kristen walked down all the halls in the hotel until she knew she was lost. When she was certain that no one could hear, see, or find her, she let out a blood-curdling scream. She had lost everything.
Everything and everyone. All in a week.
Claire's POV
Claire had a feeling she was the only one enjoying the dance out of The Pretty Committee. Between Massie's fight, Massie's recent walkout, Alicia's and Dylan's fight, and Dylan acting utterly weird, she didn't know what to expect now. In retrospect, she could've probably helped quell all these situations, but she knew better than to interfere with two, fighting girls. It was like walking into colosseum with two people dwelling and a big lion in the middle of it all. Why put yourself in danger on purpose when you're perfectly safe already?
"So, this dance has been one of the most interesting so far…" Zach remarked. He was so confused on all the drama, Claire had to constantly fill him in on why half of the girls at the dance were feuding. "I'm sorry.." Claire apologized. They were the only two at the table whereas everyone else had pretty much ditched. "I didn't expect all of this to happen." She took a drink of her water and looked around. After appetizers had been served, the waiters and waitresses brought out steak and shrimp for dinner on fancy, glass plates. They were at least five, untouched plates that were most likely going to waste. She finished Massie's plate but was too full for anymore. She just chewed the mints on the table to avoid overeating.
Claire glanced up and her stomach turned to liquid goo when she made eye contact with Cam. He looked pretty cute in the pressed white tuxedo he was wearing. She felt the pleading for him, tugging down below, but instantly squashed it. While Cam was still watching, she couldn't resist jumping on Zach's lap and pressing her lips into his for the sixth time. He didn't shy away from kissing her either and they made out for ten seconds. She pulled away before a nosy chaperone mom could send them out and saw Cam blinking with a sad look on his face. He was quickly pulled away by Sienna.
"I love the fact that you can't keep your hands off of me," Zach said, although he really had no on why she kept doing it. "I think we should wait for whatever, though. We've only been talking for a few days…" He was right but Claire couldn't help but imagine how shocking it would be to Cam if he walked in on them at the party about to go at it. He would really reevaluate on everything he had done wrong. "Oh yeah, I was just in the mood, kind of, but it's no big deal…." She waved it off but at the party, she wanted to make it known to Cam that she had moved on. Kind of.
Alicia came out of nowhere suddenly and slid into her seat quietly. She didn't seem to be in the talking mood after Dylan basically owned her in front of the whole school. She typed frantically on her phone and searched the crowd for someone. She seemed really jittery and anxious like she had drunken a mug of coffee with triple caffeine shots. "Leesh, are you okay?" Claire asked and she jolted up like someone had shoved an electrified pole up her back. "What do you think, Claire?" she snapped. Claire wanted to say she was acting like a bitch but didn't want to infuriate her even more. She had tried talking to her earlier after her fight but Alicia was too interested in her phone.
"Um, why don't we go dance, again? We haven't in a while." Zach suggested. Claire stood up, tired of just sitting down and watching the drama unfold. Zach took her arm but instead of dancing on the dancefloor, they slow danced near the table, not wanting to be a part of the crowd. He grasped her firmly and they twirled around the table. "Beautiful, hold that pose for me!" someone said. Claire looked up to see her best friend Layne snapping a picture of them on her Canon. She posed with Zach's arm around her waist and her hand on his chest. After Layne finished taking pictures, Zach excused himself for fresh air and Claire ran over to hug her friend.
"What are you wearing?" Claire asked. She took a step back to survey Layne's interesting outfit in all its glory. She wore a black tuxedo with a yellow shirt and a rubber duck bowtie. She had on those types of shoes you see clowns wear sometimes. "I'm challenging gender norms." She replied and patted her frizzy hair that she didn't even bother to brush. "Why wear dresses and get all fancy? This…" she pointed to her an outfit. "Makes a statement." Claire giggled. It made a statement indeed! Nearly, everyone was staring at her and the chaperones were questioning if this was allowed. That was Layne for ya! "Did you just get here? And, why haven't you been texting me lately?" Claire quickly fired off questions. She had so much to tell.
"Yes, I have to make a statement somehow." Layne laughed. "Also, you know I've been busy with my committee stuff. That's the only reason I came here." Claire had forgotten that Layne was in charge of the OCD Committee. They were in charge of pep rallies, student get togethers, and fundraisers. "Oh.." Claire frowned. "So you won't be able to stay." She desperately wanted someone to talk to besides Zach, to be honest. All her friends were basically gone or in bad moods.
"Yeah, sorry buttercup." Layne took a quick picture of Kori and Kylie who were hauling around a redhead, freckled boy. They both looked upset as they yanked him around. "I feel like I'm the only one not hooking up with guys tonight, geez.." she observed the girls and guys that were making it known what was going down tonight. "I'm not the one to slutshame, though." She sighed. "But hey, I heard about two fights that went down over here. We can talk tomorrow and you can tell me all about it... Hasta la vista!" Layne blew a kiss and chased after some BOCD guy she wanted to do an interview with.
How did she leave and go under a minute?
Claire sighed, she didn't know what to do now. She wasn't going back to the table, sit there alone and have to listen to Alicia's hissy whining and her sour mood. Instead, she would just make a trip to the ladies' restroom. She needed to retouch her lipstick anyway after the countless times it had transferred to Zach's mouth. She walked down the lined entrance and asked one of the bellboys where the restroom was. He pointed her towards the left hall where a single, white door with Ladies' Restroom had been scrawled in gold print at the end.
Bella Pendergast suddenly came running out, texting on her phone really fast. She was wearing a white beaded satin dress in a mermaid style, half of the beads were falling off and she almost snatched it on a branch of a potted plant. Claire had no idea why she was in such a hurry and pushed the door open. She was quickly startled when she saw Sienna inside, reapplying her mascara. The girl didn't even looked up and continued on about her business.
Claire walked towards the pink shell-shaped mirror right next to Sienna. She couldn't help but stare at her because she honestly looked more stunning up close. She smelled like daisies on a warm, summer day and a fruity scent masked with a hint of Cam's cologne. Claire swallowed, feeling anger, sadness, betrayal, and lust all through her body. "How long are you going to stare?" Sienna sighed in annoyance. Claire realized she was still staring at Sienna's face and turned her head away. She could see in the mirror her face was slowly turning red.
Claire hurriedly rubbed the red lipstick she had on with a black cloth towel. Her heart was beating rapidly and she knew Sienna could probably hear it. She had to get out of here soon. "Your lipstick is nice, by the way. I know you've been rubbing it all over your new boy toy though," Sienna chuckled, making Claire blush deeper. "That's also a nice dress but Cam won't notice you that much as much as he does his girlfriend." She finished. Claire silently fumed at the backhanded compliment Sienna had just delivered to her. She really wanted to be upset about it but for some reason, she didn't feel any anger. Almost like, she had forgiven Sienna for what she did.
She faced her again and was surprised to see Sienna was watching her. Claire stumbled forward a bit but Sienna steadied her. She couldn't tear her eyes away and leaned forward. Sienna did the same, her hands running all over Claire's dress. They started to kiss for the 2nd time. Claire wasn't sure what was going to happen and locked the door. Sienna pulled her back and pushed her into a stall. They tangled together in the small, narrow stall. Sienna unzipped Claire's dress and Claire did the same. She couldn't stop from kissing Sienna's neck who let out a soft moan. Sienna pushed her lips back onto Claire's and they made out in the stall for a couple of minutes. Things went south and Claire took the lead, leaving Sienna breathless not even ten minutes later. Afterward, Sienna's mood suddenly changed and she pulled back
"What's wrong?" Claire asked and felt the same feeling she had earlier. Sienna's lipstick was smudged and she had a weird smile on her face. She lingered for a couple of seconds, letting Claire see her chest before pulling her dress back up. She zipped it quickly and snaked out the stall as if nothing has just happened. "Nothing. I just like playing with my toys.." Sienna declared proudly and wiped her mouth. She had fooled Claire yet again. Claire rushed out after her and slipped in a puddle. She didn't even bother getting up as she watched Sienna head for the door. "I thought we had something!" Claire exclaimed at her. "That connection.,.. I didn't even care you stole my boyfriend. Because, because, I like you."
Those words seemed to be something remarkably humorous to Sienna. She laughed in her face as if this had been nothing to her. "As sweet as that is, I have a boyfriend." She retorted. "I love him. I just did all of this to play with you and act like I had real feelings for you. You fell for it." She unlocked the door but Claire scrambled to grab her arm. "No one has to know," Claire pleaded and realized how desperate she sounded. "No one... You've cheated on Cam, so why go through this." Sienna pulled her skinny arm from Claire's grip and looked into her eyes, "No, thanks and I wasn't cheating on Cam. All of that is just fun! But thanks, for giving me something Cam wish he could do. Now, au revoir!" She left, leaving Claire feeling shocked and humiliated. She didn't understand what had just happened between them.
Twenty minutes later, Claire emerged from the restroom with half her makeup off from crying and her mouth scrubbed raw of any trace of Sienna. She walked back into the dance, still feeling rejected, used, and humiliated. No one had known what she had done except Sienna but she was embarrassed, anyway. The tables were bustling full of gossip and everyone was seated. Alicia, Zach, Dylan, and Josh were all talking about something. When she moved closer, she could hear it was about the Winter Formal's king and queen. No doubt, who that would be. "Where have you been?" Zach asked as Claire perched on the edge of her seat. "They put out ballots after you left so we could vote King and Queen. You know, I put us in there." Claire didn't say anything as Principal Burns took the stage.
A couple of bird calls and squawks racked the crowd but she was completely oblivious. "Attention, attention!" she tapped the mic that sent loud feedback in the room. "Sorry, about that." she laughed. "It's time to announce the Winter Formal's King and Queen." Everyone erupted into claps. "Let's all thank the committee for helping us in part with this," she extended a hand to OCD and Briarwood's committee who manned six tables. There was scattered applause and people muttered for her to get on with it. "Now, you're runner ups for King and Queen are…" she took a painfully long pause. "Josh Hotz and Dylan Marvil." Claire was the only one who screamed her throat out for them. Dylan gasped in complete shock, not expecting to win anything. Josh grinned in glee but still had a sick look on her face, The Marvilous Marvil cameraman moved backwards to captured the moment. Dylan and Josh escorted themselves to the stage where they were given fake, crappy crowns and took a picture with Burns. I guess BOCD did run out of money for the dance.
"And drumroll, please…" Principal Burns said and the ballroom shook with everyone hammering their hands on their knees. "Your Winter Formal King and Queen is…" she drawled out the word. "Cam Fisher and Sienna Miller. Congratulations!" The ballroom erupted into loud cacophony. Sienna acted as if she didn't expect to win as she ascended the ice stairs with Cam on her arm. The curtains above let out blue, silver, and white balloons and glitter rained from above. Claire enviously watched Sienna and Cam proudly accept their ugly crowns. DJ Kiss played a Mariah Carey song and it was like the ending to a happy fairytale. Only, it wasn't a fairytale and the ending wasn't going to be nice.
After the dance was over with, it was officially time for Sienna's demise. She wouldn't even see what was coming tonight before it was too late.
Wow, talk about dramatic! That story was a rollercoaster beginning to end but buckle up your seat girls, because it's only getting started!
Massie's night was looking promising so far. She was quite the best dressed next to Sienna and had her crew in tow. Yeah, she embarrassed herself but only for the wellbeing of The Pretty Committee and their social standing. What other alphas would willingly risk their popular for their friends? Your favorite alpha could never. She even had a turn around when her longtime crush asked her to be his girlfriend. What a love story! It sounds like Landon and Massie have some plans big plans after tonight. But it also looks like she has some big plans for Sienna Miller. The fight they had was pretty explosive and dramatic. It got pretty physical real quick. Sienna said she's not done with her but Massie's not done with her either. Oh, tonight….. is going to be the clash of the Alphas. Someone is going down and I sincerely hope it's not Massie.
Alicia's had a bad time at the dance so far. But honestly, when hasn't she had a bad day? Her ex-best friend doesn't want to talk to her anymore and seems more reliant in opening up to the other girls than her. She's really starting to feel the sting of being in and out at the same time. She can't let her head get fogged up and must continue to be Goldbird's pawn. However, it can get pretty hectic when you see your frenemy making out with the ex she stole from you. Alicia's pretty good at fights, but not winning them. Maybe she'll bring her head in the game and see that she needs to push harder to win against Dylan. As of right now, no one's on her side except the A-Team.
The scariest decision of Dylan's life is approaching faster than she thinks. Tonight, everything is bound to come out, whether she likes it or not. She knows she has a target on her back from Alicia but is too focused having fun to notice. That's okay because someone will spill all the lies and rumors! She's clinging onto Sienna like a buoy until she throws her in the ocean when the time is right. Dylan is trying her best to act as if she's on board with the plan when she's not. That's okay, though, Sienna has eyes everywhere. On top of her trend of being dishonest, she has yet to tell Josh about her former fling Cole. It's obvious she didn't plan on telling him when her lips were on Cole's. She hasn't even advanced towards the boyfriend stage with Josh really, but she's already cheating on him! She knows she made a mistake but it's too late. The damage has been done and maybe someone filmed it all on a video.
Second place for the person taking the biggest L is Kristen Gregory. How did she lose everyone in such a short, time frame? Did she really dump The Pretty Committee in favor for two girls who just wanted to use her? Congratulations, Kristen, you played yourself. How would you feel if the girl that was your date had another date coming? Granted, you don't full the story, but I can guarantee you would feel somewhat used. I just honestly wonder if The Kweens had good intentions before they snapped. I doubt it because they were just using her for their own gain. Was Kristen really that stupid to not see? Oh yeah, everyone thinks Cole is her cousin she's hooking up with. Let's not forget to the mention the part where she's brutally humiliated when Cole dumps her. It's okay because he was acting quite shady anyway. I wonder if she'll find out.
I'm not even sure where to start with Claire. She risked everything tonight and didn't think about the repercussions that could follow. Long gone is the shy and innocent Claire, replaced by a more mature attitude. Now, I wonder what it's like to still have feelings for your ex but also feelings for the girl who stole him. That's pretty unbelievable. Then, you see them win Winter Formal King and Queen. Usually, girls would be dying to get that boyfriend stealing girl and drive themselves catty to sabotage the relationship. Claire seems to be doing the opposite. She doesn't even slightly care that much. She's focused on making Cam want her back as much as possible, even if it means acting like a slut and drooling all over her date. On the other hand, she's crushing pretty hard on Sienna, or was. She took a big risk that landed her flat on her face. Sienna used her again and this time for something Claire deeply regretted. She was near desperate begging for Sienna to make this work out. She's still having qualms about her sexuality I can tell. But that's okay, as long as Sienna tells no one about what happened in the stall. You can never be sure with her though. Claire is just ready for Sienna to fall and for everything to simmer down. Can Claire and The Pretty Committee really do that? Will people find about Sienna and her?
Did anyone else catch Bella Pendergast acting shady? Anyone else thinks she's on the A-team or could possibly be Anoymous/Goldbird?
Now off I go, this chapter was full of drama, lies, cheers, and tears. This is not the end of it! Sienna's party is coming up! It's time for the ending to this chaotic story. I see tremendous surprises coming along…..
