A/N: So, remember back a few chapters ago, when my author's note said the note the Doctor's message from his future self would become relevant soon? Guess what? This chapter is where its importance is revealed! I personally love how this chapter ends… *evil laughter*

Poor Doctor, things are about to get even more complicated! XD

"So I take it everything went well?" Batman asked as the Doctor and Flash stepped out of the TARDIS, which materialized seconds ago. The rest of the League ran in not long after the Doctor and Flash told everything to Batman.

"Good news! Everything went according to plan! Now we just have to go get Manhunter!" The Doctor said happily as he spun towards the heroes.

The heroes all smiled in relief. Not only did the two make it back okay, but they'll be getting J'onn and their other friend back soon! The Leaguers wanted more than anything to remember their friend, and had been feeling guilty ever since they found out. To them, forgetting was far worse than death.

If the crack had killed him, the Doctor said they would've remembered him and would've been able to mourn him, but they couldn't. All the times he was by their side as they saved the day, were forgotten as if he was never there. But he was there, and it broke their hearts knowing they couldn't remember.

Batman was the only one who handled it well. The others knew he felt the exact same way they did, but he had learned long ago how to handle his emotions in times like these.

And now, they all could go save their friend. They just needed to get J'onn first.

****Planet 72****

"Are you sure this is where he is?" Batman questioned.

"I don't like how unsure you are." Hawkgirl stated.

The Justice League, minus Superman and Manhunter, were currently in the TARDIS, and were a little uneasy with the Doctor's sudden change in behavior.

The fact that they were in the middle of Dalek territory about to go rescue their friend wasn't helping the situation.

"No, this is without a doubt where he is, but why here? Of all the Dalek ships in this galaxy and they take him to Planet 72! With minimal security at that." The Doctor's mid was running a million billion mile a minute trying to figure out why. None of them were good, and even less made sense!

"They could be trying to lure us into a trap." Batman said.

"I don't have a feeling it's a trap, and yet they're practically giving him back." The Doctor said. If they were using him for something, they could've just killed him when they were done with him. The Doctor thought. It wasn't a pleasant thought, but the Daleks weren't known for their mercy, and Daleks on the verge of a second Time War wouldn't want any loose ends.

"Maybe we'll figure it out once we go in?" Wonder Woman suggested. The Doctor nodded in agreement. She was right, that'd be the only way to get information.

"We can ask him what happened after he's back with us. I'm sure he'd be able to tell us something useful." Green Lantern suggested.

"We have to find him before we can ask him! Allons-y!" The Doctor led the group out the door and onto the planet.

Green Lantern created an air bubble around everyone so breathing wouldn't be a problem. The Doctor worked with Batman on disabling the security system and got the other in. The Flash quickly sped to the supposed location of their friend. He came back and confirmed it was where he was. Flash ran back while the others followed closely behind.

J'onn was strapped to a metal table in a well-protected room. The Doctor couldn't stop anyone from making a good sized hole in the wall, but he was able to stop them from yanking him off the table.

He had warned them they could unintentionally harm him if they were to do so.

So the Doctor worked quickly with his sonic to scan every inch of the room. After he gave the all clear, the unconscious Martian was freed and rushed back to the TARDIS.

"Doctor, why was he strapped to that metal table? What did they do to him?" Wonder Woman asked with concern. The man in question was gently laid on a bed the TARDIS so graciously generated. She always liked other psychic beings.

"Well, they didn't harm him physically, so that's good." The Doctor said.

"Did they make him a puppet?" Batman asked. The thought hadn't crossed the others' minds, and they looked at the Doctor in worry.

"No, not in the short amount of time they had. Normally it would just take a few hours, but since he is a psychic, it would've taken two or three days. Maybe more if he has a strong will." That put the others at ease.

"However, that being said, I am quite worried about his mental state." That made the Leaguers heads shoot up. "As a psychic being, I can guarantee they did something to his mind. The extent of which we won't know until he wakes up"

Before the League could say anything, the TARDIS shook violently and threw everyone to the ground. Outside, several Dalek ships gave chase and fired simultaneously at the weakened TARDIS.

"Looks like the Daleks want your friend back." The Doctor said as he ran to the controls.

"There's no way we're letting them take him again!" Flash said determinedly.

"What weapons does the TARDIS have?" Batman asked.

"She doesn't have any!" The Doctor yelled as he frantically ran circles around the controls.

"What do you mean you don't have weapons!? What do you expect to do if you're attacked?!" Hawkgirl yelled over the sounds of the TARDIS alarms.

"Run! That's what I always do and it's what I'm going to do now! Hold on! Things are about to get worse!" The Doctor exclaimed.

He wasn't happy about it, and the TARDIS didn't like it either, but both knew they didn't have a choice.

Aiming for a random ship, the Doctor launched the TARDIS into it, effectively causing a chain reaction that blew up every pursuing ship. And the TARDIS was stuck in the heart of the explosion.

Sparks flew everywhere as pieces of the TARDIS crumbled under the massive force of the explosion. A fire ignited in a few places and the lights were temporarily out. The Doctor had a feeling his back was going to get a nasty bruise, as the explosion threw him right onto the controls, and knocked the wind out of him. The others were covered in debris and aside from being flung to the floor, were unharmed. They've been through worse.

J'onn was unharmed as well, since the TARDIS focused her gravity on him to keep him on the bed. Unfortunately for the Doctor, it meant she didn't have much control of the gravity where the others were, and was the reason he hurt his back so badly.

"That could've gone better." The Doctor said as he got up, wincing a little. The other Leaguers got up and a few checked on J'onn, who was perfectly fine.

"What did you do? Crash land?" Flash asked.

"Kind of. I threw the TARDIS into the Dalek ships and caused them to explode. The explosion wouldn't have been so bad, but since she's not in the best shape, the damage we took was greater. Oh, would you mind putting out the fire?" He said as he pointed at said fire.

"Are we still in space?" Wonder Woman asked.

"No, we're in the time vortex, but we'll be back at the Watchtower soon. Just need to give the TARDIS a minute." As if on cue, the light came back on. "Okay, now we can go back." The ride back was a little bumpy, but nothing else went wrong.

Now they could turn their attention back to J'onn, who was starting to wake up.

"Welcome back! How are you feeling?" The Doctor asked. He gave the others some space and patiently waited for him to answer. The others were happily talking to him right now.

"I'm afraid I don't remember what happened after I was taken." He said once he was done talking to his friends.

"I can't say that's surprising. The Daleks have always been good and memory tampering. Though I'm sure you were unconscious for most of it anyway." The Doctor said. But he couldn't shake this feeling something was wrong. He had a weird urge to reach into J'onn's mind, but for what reason he didn't know.

Then it hit him all at once.

Remember to listen. Do not forget to listen!

And so he did.

He listened to J'onn's subconscious.

The Doctor did not like what he heard:

One two three four.

One two three four.

One two three four!

He heard drums.

A/N: Guess what's coming! :D
