Fire And Ice

Chapter 21 - Another Win

The banging pain in my head flooded my body and the bright light above my head had blinded my vision, my breathing had became laboured as the pain had begin to swallow me alive. The voices around me had buzzed as the faces of people had fluttered into my vicnity, "she's awake." The gentle voice of a woman echoed softly as she rested her hand on my forehead, brushing my hair away from my forehead, clenching my teeth I slowly began to register the past events.

Dull pain in my stomach had attacked me, letting me hiss out lightly. I slowly began to force myself up, "f-friends." I grounded my teeth, looking to Colton he rested his arms on my shoulders trying to push me back on to the bed, "go back to sleep. You shouldn't move." I shook my head as I pushed his hands away, his eyes widened for a moment, trying my best to ignore the pain that I felt I stumbled to my feet. The voices of the concerned people around me had became quiet.

"Amaryllis you need rest." I hissed lowly as the sharp pain in my stomach stabbed me brutually. My fingers gripped my stomach, the illusion buried in my head thinking it would calm the burning sensation. Stepping forward the pain only increased, "you can't move." Colton stopped in front of me, grinding my teeth I narrowed my eyes at him feeling the anger roll off of me in waves. The man behind him looked somewhat familiar though the shaken vision, pushing Colton aside I contiuned towards the door.

The weight of my body becoming more and more heavy, "I promised I'd save you." I huffed out as I stumbled outside, getting the sadden looks from the people around me. Feeling the wetness on my fingers I spared a moment in order to look down, shook I took in the distrubed view of my own blood. My vision again shook as I looked ahead at the tress appeared to be dancing in the wind while the figures of the people around me was more disorientated.

Crumbling to the ground without hesistition, I let out a groan as I looked ahead. Still recalling the horffied face of Aya and the leaking tears from her bright eyes along with Sting, the shocked face from Orion as he tried to wrestle free the relentless shouts from Simon and the loud cries from Shou but I couldn't forget the look in Titan's eyes. His eyes remained hardened and determined, he knew, he knew I would come for them no matter what and that death could never take me from them willingly.

"Amaryllis!" I felt the gentle hand on my shoulder, looking to the source I found a handsome man, his eye glisterning as he stared at me and slowly began to pick me up. His lips sealed shut as he walked me back to my bed, I pushed at his shoulders trying to escape. The pain in my body slowly took over the overpowering numbing sensation, "they took t-them. I need to save them." The man placed me gently on the bed earning the pity eyes from Colton and another woman.

"You been out for two days. You need rest." Colton leaned forward, my eyes widened as I leaned back against the pillow my eyes blank as I stared up to the ceiling the pain no longer had itched my skin rather it was the fact that I had been out for two days and my friends could have been hurt or possibly dead. I gulped in concern as I stared at Colton the woman beside him with a kind smile on her lips, breathing out, "do you have morphine?" I asked softly.

She raised her eyebrow, "morphine?" She repeated with the tilt of her head. I nodded again with a more determined look, "yes." I mumbled as I rested my back against the set of pillows able to view everything within my vision, my heart raced as I stared at the small figure on the bed across, my eyes widened as the gasp slipped my lips. Quickly I reached the small cat and pulled him into my arms, he was battered and brusied, my heart began to pace back and forth.

Stroking his skin softly he let out a soft groan and looked up to me with half-lidded eyes, "Amary." Kite whisphered lightly, I felt the sob in the back of my throat. Clenching my fists, they had done this to him, what could they be possibly doing to the others now? Breathing out lightly I heard the woman speak again, "you shouldn't go out." She softly spoke. Placing Kite onto the bed I lifted my shirt pulling it off in one swipe and began to unroll the bandages, the coughs from the two men in the room brought me from my actions.

Looking over I caught the blushes from Colton and the other man, "I am just changing my bandages." I mumbled as I placed the bloody bandages in the garbage, examining the cut I rested my hand and focused to heal it, sighing. Licking my lips I was built on the resolve to save my friends. The deep voice echoed in the room, "you should stay. You are still hurt from taking the second hit of Yura." The man spoke, his eyes settled on me. Turning to him I nodded, "you're right." Breathing out I tied my hair up and tightened the bandages around my stomach.

"My friends could be in a worst. I will not take the chance to risk that." Taking a deep breath I pulled on my shirt again and tightened the straps of my shoes, feeling the heavy gaze from them, locking eyes with them I had felt the admiration they expressed. I smiled at them, "magic is used to protect the ones you love. I have that power. And I will use it to save my friends." Smiling softly I watched as Kite slowly rose up, he grounded his teeth as the small tears formed in his eyes.

My eyes widened in the process staring at the determined look in his eyes, "I am coming too." I shook my head furiously, he was heavily bruised and I didn't want too lead him to possibly hurting himself. Though with light breaths I watched as he bravely stood to his two feet and stepped towards me, "Kite." I couldn't help but whispered as he looked at me, the tears in his eyes bigger but filled with resolve. Gulping, "Rune, Mara and Lector are out their too. They are my friends. I can't let them wait any longer." Quickly I gathered him in my arms hugging him tight to my chest.

He wrapped his small arms around me as we comforted each other, pulling him away gently I ran my fingers through his soft hair seeing as he curled his face into the palm of my hand. Smiling at him, his tears disappeared, "you're right. We are a team after-all." He nodded with a bright grin that seemed to be brighter than the lights in the room, getting the soft chuckles from the three other people. Sighing I faced the bed and with and easily within seconds appeared my "broken" swords.

Furrowing my brows I stared at my repaired weapons with utter confusion, "your welcome, dear princess." Hearing the mocking tone in my arm I looked over my shoulder seeing Blade and Blaze, both looked relived and more happier with a light grin on their lips. Breathing I faced my weapons, "you fixed them." I stated, blankly staring at the weapons laid out in front of me. Blade had sighed gently, "took you long enough to notice." Staring at the glistering weapons, my fingers brushed against Ginmori.

"What's this?" I asked as my fingers traced the new added hilt of the sword as well dark orb which seemed to be constantly spiraling into pure darkness. Blaze grinned at me, peering over my shoulder, "a favour from us had gotten an upgrade to your sword." He winked at me, "the hilt should be better to grip as well heightens your ablity to handle the attacks, with the proper training and customs to the weapon you should master it within no time." He nodded as he voiced his words.

"Master?" I heard the woman speak, "master!?" I nearly shouted feeling my voice ring throughout the area, he nodded, "the sword is stronger than before. Something your not use to. The orb that is newly engraved in the sword is similar to another dim-" He was sharply cut off by Colton who seemed deeply interested in his words, "dimension? Like another place? In that small sword?" Blade nodded as he glanced down to the orb that back at me.

"The orb provides another dimension which allows you to absorb more magic than before. The key positive factor about this you should know is that the magic can be held within this space until you learn to control it, meaning if done so you can use the magic you absorb and personally mold it into another weapon." Looking at Ginmori I began feeling more happy that it was broken and shattered than before, the designs on it beautiful and neat while it had constructed to the dangers it provided.

"But-" He paused, "whenever the magic you absorb is not released or properly molded into another weapon it would vanish. In the process of vanishing the specific type of magic will be unable to be absorbed again into the sword." Biting the inside of my cheek I calmly took in his words, pacing back and forth, speaking from the top of my head I looked over to Ginmori on the bed. Clicking my fingers, "if I am unable to control the magic within a limited time it would mean that I will suffer the ablitiy to make more weapons and or swords." He nodded.

"Especially since every magic is different so the difficulty of each one would be different in terms of molding and adjusting too." Sighing to myself, "thankful I am. But were did you exactly get this?" Blaze frowned, "we just did a little twiddling." Narrowing my eyes at the two, "your not going to tell me are you?" He nodded happily. Sighing I examined my tools carefully as the thundering footsteps had brought me from the daze and up to the fury of voices.

"Rodrik! Colton! Randa!" The panting from the group of people rushed into the area, their faces covered in sweat as there eyes darted between the three. My eyes widened as I heard the name Rodrik, he had been the man who had the worst damages of us all, the man in bandages from head to toe, yet here he stood tall and unmarked with his slient deadly eyes that seemed to hold leadership even I never was able to obtain. There eyes flickered over to me and back to the trio.

"T-The Raiders they have gotten closer!" The female spoke as she huffed harder each and each time, narrowing my eyes at her words, Rodrik turned to me sensing my confusion, "while you had been recovering we had decided that we should fight for those we care about and not be merely thrown aside without a fight." Pride filled my chest. It had looked like my words had gotten to them that day and had encouraged them to fight for themselves and their people, for their freedom.

"Alright." I stated as my weapons quickly vanished and Kite hopped onto the ground, the twins right behind me, "take us to the battlefield." Their eyes widened. Colton looked unsure, "what?" He appeared yet again confused. Sighing I began making my way out the door, "come on we have a battle to fight." I waved at them, tucking my hands in my pockets as I slowly began to plot many battle plans, sighing to myself I abadoned them and decided to just charge directly in.

As I stood outside I was shook seeing everyone dressed in battle armor and looked to preparing to fight, glancing up to the sun I drew a deep breath in. Glancing over my shoulder, "let's just say that I will taking them on myself." Randa looked horrofied, "y-you nearly got killed last time." Slumping my shoulders I embraced the truth, "true. But I have a plan." I winked at her. She raised her eyebrows looking at the two men on either side of her.

Raking a hand through my hair, "just charging in, right?" Blade spoke with closed eyes as I nodded. Waving it off I felt the laughter bubble in the bottom of my throat, "I have a personal price to pay with them." Stepping forward Kite activated his wings and then the twins disappeared, looking at the three of them and the large group of people behind them, "let's just say you take the ground and I take the sky." Winking at them I watched their eyes widened.

As we flew through the sky, the clouds lightly drifted as the bright blue sky had shimmered in the light. Below me I had spotted the vehicles and people apart of the rebellion, clutching the new upgraded verison of my sword I twirled it between my fingers as we appeared to be getting closer and closer. The tress still managing to sway that had stood in place, below me had been Colton and Rodrik along with Randa supporting the rear, they had used transportation since they couldn't fly with their own cat.

"Gotta say. That was pretty stupid what you did." Blaze spoke briefly, it hadn't taken much effort to realize what he was talking about, "I did it." I shrugged my shoulders as Yura had came closer into our view, "if I never done it all those people would have been killed." Blade chuckled lightly shaking his head, "sounds like nothing we say can stop you." He grinned like a madman his brother following closely too. Licking my lips I couldn't help but feel the smile flutter on my lips.

Holding Ginmori close I stared ahead as Yura had began to charge, and with a smirk I glanced at Blaze and Blade both responding with confused by terrfied looks on their faces. Blaze widened his eyes as I twirled the sword in my hand and replied with a smirk, "your planning to try this out now.." He state, with a wide grin I watched their eyes widened.

"We are going to see if this actually works."

Aya's POV

Releassing another heavy breath I felt my throat tightened as I stared at the man ahead of me, his wicked grin laced his lips and the sick weapon in his hands teased us cruelly. Clenching my teeth I strained my eyes to keep open, ever since we had arrived here he had hung us and began to extract our magic power, it was a painful method in which had led to us passing out in pain or weakness. I growled lowly as he raised his weapon again, "m-monster." My throat ached more as I stared at him.

He craned his neck watching me carefully, "now I am second guessing that I should have taken Amaryllis, she seemed to have more power than all four of you." He sighed shaking his head, "too bad. She is dead." Than I heard Orion shout, "she isn't dead!" I couldn't help but agree with him though with the amount of bruises and damaged she had suffered it was easy to think that sh- no, she is stronger than that. I know for a fact. She wouldn't carelessly just die.

Though again I was sure a day or two had passed and help wasn't coming from her, but she is Amaryllis! I can't simply just give up on her at all! No! I won't. Giving him a hardened gaze, "that's true. She won't dead." The man, Roarke, laughed loudly, his laughter booming off the walls as his minions had followed after quickly. Onyx remained on the wall her arms crossed over her chest as she watched with sealed lips with a boy next to her as all he did was be silent.

"She is strong. She is brave and most of all she will do anything to save us." Titan spoke, widening my eyes at his words I couldn't help but smile as I had seen he had gotten attached to her as well. After-all it was hard not too, she is beautiful, strong, compassionate, stubborn and most of all protective of her friends. Huffing lowly to myself I began to shake the chains, Roarke smirked at my attempt and stepped forward his eyes trailing down me.

"You are all foolish. Have you seen or heard anything from her or your so called guild?" He raised an eyebrow, picking a strand of my hair and twirling it around his fingers. He glanced at both Orion and Titan, "shut up, old man!" The young voice shouted echoing around us, looking over to Sting I was shocked, he furrowed his brows and hardened his gaze at Roarke. Who laughed lightly, "you think she is coming to save you?" Sting gave him a nod, "of course I do." He began to laugh even harder.

Though the doubts were still on his face, "like t-" I watched in surprise and shock as a body smashed through the wall and smacked into the other end of the wall a gasp escaping my lips as the smoke filled the entrance and the figure that stepped out of the smoke was none other than Amaryllis!

"You got to be kidding me." She smirked clenching her blades, "I suppose I am not." She quickly wasted no time as with little effort had took down the other people raising one of her swords she sliced the air quickly and deadly to the point of wave of wind lanuched towards Roarke which had avoided easily. He smirked, "you missed." She smirked back. "It wasn't meant for you." She responded as the wind had sliced across our shackles leading us to drop to the ground.

She let out a sigh as she stared at Roarke, "having second thoughts?" She questioned. She was bandaged dearly though she hadn't shown any pain, she stood tall and strong staring at Roarke with a cold glare, he stared at with interest as she released a long breath before glancing at us. She curled her fists and glared at Roarke even harder, "if you glare any harder I might feel like i'll disappear." She chuckled, twirling the sword in her hand and cocked her head to the side, "that's the point." She stepped forward.

Before Roarke could move he smugly took a step back and watched as the other Raiders rushed towards her, she leaned back with a small grin on her face and with sudden speed bursted off from the ground leaving the swirl of wind in her wake, I couldn't help but feel the gasp escape my lips as I watched her. She truly is strong. The woman with long hair lifted her stick and had summoned a sphere of darkness around the other Raiders.

Amaryllis eyes flickered off of them as the Raiders crowded around her, "you lost admit it." She chuckled lowly, "right." She let her sword disappear into the air and suddenly slammed the palm of her hand into the ground as the ground around her sent waves of the rumbling earth crashing, immediately all of the Raiders jumped in a way to avoid the attack though that had been Amaryllis plan all along. She appeared behind one of the Raiders with ease and smashed it with her bare hands, her eyes went wide as the bubble exploded causing a large explosion.

The smoke filled the air as the other Raiders managed to reach the ground safely though had looked for the other Raider which Amaryllis had attacked, "huh?" A swift black figure had rushed towards the ground with speed as the body had buried into the depths of the ground, "what was that suppose to be?" Amaryllis stood on top the unconscious figure with a grin as she remained unharmed. I held back the bubbling laughter from my lips as I braced my body against the wall to tired to move.

The gasp from the woman was heard, "h-how is that possible?" Amaryllis smirked, "you people have a thing for underestimating me." She flicked her hair over her shoulder, looking over to Orion I watched the emotion and admiration and love? Evident in his eyes. A smile glossed onto his lips as he stared at her with such joy and happiness.

"Royan, it appears your powers are weak against her." The woman gasped as she held her stick, her eyes narrowed at Amaryllis as she hopped off the Raider, without hesitation Royan rushed forward by herself and began to attack Amaryllis in which had easily dodged it and seemed to only be playing with her.

I grounded my teeth feeling the arms around me and looked up to see Titan holding me, widening my eyes I held the blush back as he sent me a small smile as the other figures from the rebellion approached us covered with wounds and bruises, "you are okay!?" Colton gasped as he helped Orion up, "of course we are!" Sting shouted, I held back the laughter from the small boy as he stood up on his own along with Lector.

Hearing another crash I looked up flinching in the process as I looked at the result, all of the Raiders had remained unconscious and Roarke was the only standing one facing Amaryllis. She stepped forward with heavy eyes and stared at him, "so?" She questioned.

He let out a small curse, "you indeed are special, Amaryllis." She smirked and winked at him, "of course I am." They both leaned back and with the dead silence they clashed..

Amaryllis's POV

Grinning at him I watched as our blades touched, his narrowed eyes locked with mine as he attempted to push forward. He growled lowly as I hadn't budged and attempted to move his body in which I responded easily with, from the recent fight I managed to analyze him well enough in which had gave me a advantage in this fight. He pushed harder on our swords locked which I allowed to happen, he smirked and began to push more. The last moment I released my sword from it and spun around landing a successfully hard kick to his face.

Pulling my leg down I watched as he slid back in anger, "that's it I am going to kill you!" He shouted, his fists balled together had been forming some sort of darkness which had progressively had gotten bigger and bigger at the moment, staring at him I watched as his anger had fueled his actions rather than strategic which had been my downfall in our fight. Stepping back I summoned Ginmori in my hands closing my eyes and opening it again I released the tight breath.

He let out a sharp shout as he launched his attacked, the spiral of darkness rushing forward and destroying everything in its wake taking a deep breath I braced myself as I held another sword in my hand to break the attack. Digging my feet into the ground I felt the heat of the attack circle around me as I grounded my teeth and took the attack hearing the shouts of my friends around me, curling my fingers around Ginmori I prayed that my next move would be successful.

Lifting my other sword I gritted my teeth as I managed to break the attack with ease as he hadn't used much of his power, with the darkness around me evaporating and the shocked Roarke ahead of me I let Ginmori float as I attempted to extract the power, with clenched teeth I strained myself as I felt the magic touch my hands and looked to Ginmori as it had vanished from giving me all the power. With a big breath I stretched my palms apart slowly.

Watching as the sword from my fingertips being created, "what the hell!?" Roarke shouted as I pulled my hands apart, exposing a new sword. It was created from the power of Yura, one that happened to be dangerous for dragon slayers but now we benefit from it. Licking my lips I bent my knees and held a good grip on the sword as I stared at Roarke who looked now terrified, "why don't you have a taste of Yura." With a quick step forward I landed in front of him. With a large grin I caught the shocked look in his eyes.

Releassing my breath, "relasse!" I watched the stream of darkness lanuch towards Roarke at point-blank range, my heart raced as I watched his eyes fall back and he is sent flying through the brick wall. Watching the stream of magic lace around me as he fell, I couldn't help but feel the smile build up on my lips.

Taking a moment to admire what I did I jumped up and down, "Yes! I did it on the first try!" I couldn't help but shout but turned over to my friends seeing as they sported happy smiles, running towards them I couldn't help but look at their wounds, "you saved us." Sting spoke as he was being carried by Colton, I smiled and shrugged my shoulders, "not just me. It was also them." I pointed to Colton as everyone had sent him high phrases.

I walked towards Orion who sent a grateful smile, "took you long enough." I frowned and lightly punched him in the shoulder which he responded with a light laugh, I took his hand, "what are you doing?" He asked, I furrowed my brows, "helping you. You can barely stand by yourself." He let out a relieved sigh, "thanks." He whispered lowly, "no problem." I spoke lowly and directed my words to everyone, "let's get everyone rested up." I spoke with a grin as we began to head back to the base of the rebellion.

Upon our return we had been rewarded with tears, laughs, and smiles, the citizen of the town were more happy and had provided a huge party for the rebellion. Listening around me I paid attention to the sounds of music the smooth and joyul melodies filling my ears, "what are you smiling about?" I looked up to Orion, his brows furrowed in slight confusion as he stared at me, despite him being hurt along with the others they had demanded that they were to attend the celebration and therefore we had sat in the corner as I was healing him.

Breathing out, "this atomsphere is the best, don't you think?" He stared ahead, looking at Aya as she danced around with Titan following her, even him out of his comfort zone was something else. She was smiling brightly and laughing as she danced along with other people. He sighed, his eyes turning soft, "yes. It is." He took a deep breath, closing his eyes as he stared at the ground, "after what we been through. This has been a big change in our life." He turned towards me.

"Thank you," he paused, "for saving us. For doing everything you could and protecting us as well for teaching us on how to develop our abilities better." Caught off guard I bit the corner of my lip as I stared at him, feeling the blush rise from my neck to my cheeks, "no problem. Anyone in my position would do the same." He sighed lightly as he stared at me, his eyes remaining soft as he gazed upon me, "you're truly one of a kind." Unable to handle anymore compliements I swiftly got up.

"That won't be the first time I heard that." I spoke as I glanced back at him, "now don't dance too much. You should take it easy since I just healed you." He nodded giving me a small smile before joining the others, he turned towards me as he jabbed his thumb towards Aya and Titan, "are you coming?" I nodded, "just give me a moment." He nodded and than proceeded to go ahead, my heart raced as I stared as his back before I withdrew into the dark shadows.

Leaning my back against the brick wall, I curled my fists together as I stared at my hands. The tingling sensation in my hands had begun to grow more strong over the couple amount of days and the marks began to appear more frequent, this wasn't good at all. Clenching my teeth, I can't let anyone find out about it and if they did no one would accept me because I was truly what they had called a demon.
