For reasons yet unknown to them, they manage to get to the portal without any trouble. Which was something that Rin had no idea how to deal with. He was used to things going wrong, even if he didn't plan on it.
With everyone standing in front of the portal, Rin can feel something was wrong. He wasn't sure in what aspect, but it was one he didn't want to stick around to find out. Much less if it involved anyone getting hurt.
With no word, he pushed everyone through the portal. Ayaki didn't bother to let himself get pushed through. He grabbed Rin on his upper arm and walked them through the portal. Landing on their feet where they reached the human world, he took in his surroundings. Things didn't look much different besides the fact that it was night.
"We need to keep moving. There is no telling if anything followed us here," Akira ordered, already moving away from the location. Rin didn't fight it either as he followed, Kuro landing on his shoulder. Giving an affectionate rub behind his ears, he planted random things into the group to help cleanse the location.
He could hear the other footsteps of his former classmates behind him. Rin didn't glance back and take in their appearances. He hasn't gotten used to the idea that they were here and helped in saving him. The only one he could actually see more or less despite their reaction was Sheimi. They were friends first before they were classmates.
As they were approaching the training base, he heard a screech. Up ahead, Akira was in the claws of a demon, squeezing her in its grasp. "Akira!" Rin yelled, running for her as his blue flames flared up and his katana appeared in his hands.
Ayaki right behind him they both charged the demon. There was much yelling as other smaller demons appeared behind them. That's when the cram students made their move, destroying the demons trying to block Ayaki and Rin.
Akira was trying to squirm her way out of the claw, using as much of her strength to gain some sort of lay way and strike it. The demon didn't even flinch as it faced the two opponents. Instead, it smiled while returning the strikes at the two exorcists; not once letting go of Akira.
Kuro went for the side of the demon, Rin a frontal assault and Ayaki gaining the other side. Letting out a resounding roar, the demon threw Akira at Rin which threw them a great distance. Swinging its claw, the demon swiped at Kuro then with its other claw catching Ayaki. "Gahh!"
"Ayaki!" Screamed Yukio and he watched how things were progressing. Reading himself to give his own attack, the demon gave another great roar before disappearing; the smaller demons going with it as well.
Sheimi was helping Rin and Akira heal slightly when all was knocked over to the roar of the vanished demon. Akira cursed and Rin clenched his fist when everything calmed down. "We need to get inside the base before we lose anyone else," commanded Akira, not looking back at anyone.
