A/N: I realise I have been neglecting Soundwave a little, but don't worry, he will return shortly.
Lots of Pred Alert fluff here, ermagerd. They're adorable.
Someone wanted a bit more Blitzwing, so here he is. Yeah.
Prowl doesn't transform into a Dodge Charger because Dodge Chargers are not particularly fast, nor are they particularly epic, and Prowl is both. So. It has to be a British car then.
Humans from the last chapter were, as far as I know: Sam Witwicky (the glasses); Sari Sumdac (uh, duh?); Kicker (Glowy hair); Sector Seven (Hoover Dam); Coby, Bud, Lori (Mysterious Ringing Noise); and the doctor guy from TF: Energon who I've forgotten the name of (Nutter).
Thanks for sticking with this story, and keep reviews coming!
Jolt's Not-Sparklings Versus Rock
Red Alert was surreptitiously totally not checking Prowl out in the training room when Jolt's voice echoed over the intercom.
"Red, Prowl, I've got an Energon spike in grid three-four-seventeen, could be Decepticons. The Groundbridge is primed and ready; up for a walk?"
Prowl answered for Red Alert. "Naturally. Rules of engagement?"
Jolt checked. "Eliminate them if it's Decepticlones, but Ultra Magnus wants any high-rankers taken online."
"Understood. Open the Groundbridge."
A green portal swirled into being not far off. Red Alert rolled her optics, transformed, and drove through, Prowl transforming into his Police Enforcer-spec Aston Martin One-Seven-Seven vehicle mode and following; his sirens blaring and lights flashing. Red Alert switched her own sirens and lights on.
When she emerged from the bridge, the first things that met her optics was a large light brown-ish camouflage Decepticon in the midst of loading Energon into a large gunmetal grey space shuttle.
Red Alert transformed, readying her particle beam rifle and aiming at the interlopers. The sound of two acid beam pistols powering up behind her signified the presence of Prowl at her back, which reassured her infinitely.
"Freeze." Red Alert ordered.
The Decepticon in robot mode (Blitzwing, her battle computer informed her), shrugged his shoulders and changed his face from Hot to Cold. "My pleasure, Fraulien." he said, then his shoulder cannons flipped down and fired a blast of ice, which Red Alert dodged narrowly.
"Take Astrotrain. I will detain Blitzwing." Prowl told her, already firing at the brown triple-changer.
"Not really much of a choice." she replied, firing a blast at Astrotrain, who transformed and returned fire. Red Alert ran towards him, firing a few more blasts, one through Astrotrain's right wing and another just missing his helm. The big mech winced and kept up his erratic stream of fire.
Meanwhile, Prowl had put an acid beam into Blitzwing's forearm and singed his chest armour. Prowl flipped over an ice beam, slid a black sun-visor over his optics and flashed his shoulder-mounted light bars at maximum brightness, shorting out Blitzwing's optics. The triple-changer, however, simply stepped back, switched back to his Hot face, and resumed combat.
Red Alert neatly leapt over one of Astrotrain's wild plasma blasts and somersaulted over him, landing gracefully and sweeping Astrotrain's stabilisers from under him.
Thankfully, this time she wasn't crushed underneath the falling mech, but still ended up on the ground. Astrotrain shot out a servo, grabbing Red Alert by the ankle and pulling her down while climbing to his stabilisers.
"Blitz, we gotta move!" he called (exhibiting possibly the only example of pragmatism by a Decepticon ever recorded) to his comrade; currently in Random mode and swirling Prowl around by the helm. Blitzwing nodded, but before he could respond his left arm was blown off by Red Alert, sending Prowl clattering to the ground.
"Vhat eez it vith femmes and blowing mien arms off?" Random asked, picking his arm back up and running for the cave exit. Astrotrain followed, pausing at the exit to fire a blast before transforming and flying off. Red Alert braced herself for the searing pain that was to come.
Which never did come, as Prowl jumped in front of her and took the laser blast. Red Alert's servos went straight to her mouth and she bent down to inspect the damage.
"Why would you even do that, you idiot?" she demanded of Prowl.
"I have no idea." he replied, seeming genuinely confused by his own actions. "However, damage to my systems appears minimal." He tried to sit up, but Red Alert pushed him back down.
"Which one of us is the medic?" she asked, already taking a scan.
"You are." Prowl replied morosely.
Red Alert concluded her scan, determining that there was indeed little serious damage to Prowl's upper torso. She poked at the blackened and carbon-scored laser wound, which was completely shot through, revealing the cables and glowing blue energon beneath.
"Well, at least I know you're not a Decepticon spy now." she observed.
"You thought I was a Decepticon spy?" Prowl queried, surprised.
"I think everyone's a Decepticon spy." Red Alert replied dismissively. "Now come on, let's get back to the ship and I can fix this properly."
"First Aid requires more medical attention than I do. His systems are still not fully recovered." Prowl objected.
"You're more important."
Red Alert paused at Prowl's surprised and strangely pleased look. "...I don't know why I just said that." She looked at Prowl awkwardly.
Prowl looked awkwardly at Red Alert.
Red Alert looked awkwardly at the ceiling.
Jolt's voice interrupted them. "Uh, are you guys still alive?"
"Oh, no, uh, we're fine. Fine. Fantastic." Red Alert replied hurriedly, her cooling fans kicking on loudly. Prowl regarded the Alfa curiously.
"Wait...am I interrupting anything?" Jolt asked, and Red Alert could practically feel the suggestive smirk through the comlink.
"Negative, Jolt." Prowl saved her (again, she reminded herself; then slapped herself mentally for reminding herself when there was no need to remind herself) by jumping in. "Please open a Groundbridge for us. I have sustained damage." he said, standing up.
"Roger." Jolt said, although the tone in which she said it in was less of a "sir yes sir" than a "Oh, we're totally talking about this later, Red, and I'm going to really enjoy teasing you relentlessly without fear of retribution, as I have no romantic attachments whatsoever" tone, but then again Red Alert could have been imagining that.
A groundbridge opened inside the cave, but the sudden flux of matter destabilised the already structurally dodgy cave ceiling, causing a large rock to fall. Red Alert, seeing this, pushed Prowl sideways out of the path of the boulder.
She screamed in pain when it crashed down on top of her, crushing her arm under it and pinning her to the floor.
"Jolt! Shut the Groundbridge, repeat, shut the bridge!" Prowl ordered, and as the portal spiralled into nothingness, the cave stabilised. "Now, open another one outside the cave, and come through to provide assistance with Red Alert."
Jolt did so, exiting the bridge at top speed, transforming and gasping. "Scrap."
"Indeed." Prowl affirmed. "I could use some assistance in lifting this boulder up, as I believe it is too heavy for me alone."
Jolt shook her helm. "Nah, it's to heavy for both of us. Maybe...maybe...uh..."
She seemed to come to a decision, and set her jaw. "Okay. I'm going to do something now, and you have to promise to keep it a secret. Okay?"
"Yes." Prowl agreed. Red Alert nodded slowly, mouth tight shut.
"Deployers, eject!"
Suddenly, Jolt's tiara flew off her head and transformed into a metallic condor, Autobot symbols delicately painted onto its wings. Her chestplate jumped off and transformed into a panther-bot (Autobot symbols on its hind legs.). Her two arm guards disengaged and simultaneously transformed into two small robots.
They all hovered around Jolt.
"I was unaware that you had sparklings, Jolt." Prowl said thoughtfully. "Though I do not understand why you want this kept secret."
"Oh, they're not sparklings. They're Deployers. Minibots." Jolt explained. "They're not, uh, exactly sanctioned."
Red Alert moaned in pain, and Jolt's attention suddenly snapped to the rock. "Right. Okay. Uh. Laerbeak, can you slice that rock in half with your laser?" she asked the condor. Laserbeak nodded, flapping over and starting to cut around the rock horizontally.
"Why can't I jus' use my piledrivers an' smash it?" the blue minibot asked, tugging at Jolt's servo like a sparkling.
"Because you might destabilise the rest of the cave, Rumble, and that might trap all of us." Jolt explained slowly and kindly.
"Ok." Rumble replied good-naturedly.
The panther-bot's head moved up and down a little and Jolt laughed. "Be nice, Ravage. Rumble didn't know that."
The red minibot huffed. "Bet he did, an' he wus just bein' an idjut."
"Frenzy...apologise." Jolt said warningly. The red minibot bowed his head ashamedly.
"Sorry, Rumble."
Laserbeak chirped, signalling that the rock was fully cut through.
"Okay, Frenzy, Rumble, we'll go and lift the top of the rock off, okay?
Red Alert let out a whisper as some of the weight was taken off her arm, and the pain lessened. "This is easily the weirdest thing I've ever seen you doing."
"Shut up, Doctor-Femme, and let us rescue you already." Frenzy retorted, as he and Rumble pushed the rock into Prowl and Jolt's servos. They lifted it off and laid it aside. Jolt turned to Ravage. "Can you and Laserbeak help roll this bit of the rock off Red Alert and over here?"
Ravage nodded, and padded over to just above Red Alert's optic level. Laserbeak flapped over, pressed his talons against the rock, and waited. Jolt, Prowl, Frenzy and Rumble took positions at the other side.
Between them, pulling and pushing, the six managed to manhandle the rock enough for Red Alert to pull her crushed arm out, before her pain receptors caught up with her and diverted power from her legs and stabilisers to her repair systems, and she fell over.
Prowl picked her up off the ground and carried her bridal style into the waiting Groundbridge, Jolt and her weird little not-sparklings following, but as they entered the bridge tunnel the not-sparklings (Deployers, Red Alert reminded herself) transformed back into their respective pieces of armour and attached themselves to Jolt's frame again.
On the way to the Medbay, Red Alert weighed the pros and cons of snuggling Prowl, then realised she was being a moron and did it anyway.
Red Alert snuggled herself ever-so-slightly into Prowl's surprisingly warm and comfortable chest, and the last thing she heard before she powered down was the little noise of shock and pleasure which he made.
D'aaww.
