Ell held her breath watching for Daryl to make his move. When the door opened four men and the Governor walked in and right to them. One man took the chain off of Ell's ankle and pulled her to her feet while the other men held Daryl back. The Governor took her by the arm and left the room with her without a word. The four men stayed with Daryl leaving him little chance to make a move. They left the chain on his ankle so he was pretty sure that they would bring her back and chain her back to him. Which is precisely what he was waiting for.

Daryl watched as the sun setting out the window behind him cast a shadow on the wall behind the men. It had to have been over an hour since the Governor took Ell and now the sun had went down and the world outside was dark. When the door opened he watched as the Governor brought Ell back. He walked into the room and shoved her into the arms of one of his men before he turned and left. The men forced her to the ground next to Daryl and chained them back to one another.

Once the chains were securely locked the four men walked out leaving Ell and Daryl alone. Ell stared straight ahead. Her hair was tangled and her cloths seemed disheveled. He knew something had to have happen to her, but now wasn't the time. The moment he got his chance they were leaving. She could feel his eyes on her. She knew he was waiting for her to turn to him so he could ask if she was okay. But she knew she would begin to cry if he asked, and she had made up her mind that what had happen between her and the Governor would stay that way. She didn't want Daryl to know, and if she ever got back to Rick she didn't want him to ever find out either. This was one secret she would take to her grave, whether that be that day or many years from then.

"The next time only two of them come in, that's when we make our move." Daryl whispered in that deep almost horse sounding voice. "Can you do this?" He needed to know that she would work with him. He couldn't drag her as dead weight. They would both die.

Ell just nodded yes with out looking at him or saying a word. She would do what ever she could to help Daryl get out, even if she died trying. She wasn't going to stay there for one more day. Much to her surprise it didn't take long before they herd keys rattling outside the door once again. She knew this would be it. As long as no more than four men came through that door Daryl was going to make his move.

Ell held her breath as she watched the two men walk through the door carrying trays of food with them and stepped closer and closer to her and Daryl. She looked at the men and back at Daryl as everything around them seemed to slow down and move in slow motion. As the first man leaned down to set the tray of food down Daryl reached out with one hand and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt causing him to drop the tray.

Knowing this guy was about to die Ell turned to the other guy. As soon as he saw Daryl grab the other guy he dropped the tray he had been carrying and started to move quicker. At her side Daryl had pulled the guy to the ground and she watched as he pulled the wooden shank from behind him and drove it through the first guys neck.

Ell got to her knees grabbing the second guy and pulled him to the ground. She wasn't sure what she was doing, she had dropped her piece of wood and was now just struggling with this guy. She held onto him for dear life knowing that if he got to a point where he could take a swing she was in trouble. With everything moving in slow motion the struggle seemed to take minutes. The reality was that it was only seconds. Daryl had stabbed the first guy in neck and pushed him out of the way then grabbed the second guy off of Ell.

She watched as the man seemed to have flown off her and onto the ground next to her. In just one motion Daryl had grabbed him and threw him to the ground. He hit the guy twice in the face, slowing him down just long enough for him to pull the shank from the other guys neck and drive it through his. He watched him for a few seconds to be sure both men were dead. Ell just watched as everything started to move at normal speed again.

Daryl got to his feet and reached down and grabbed her by the arm. "Get up." He pulled her to her feet. He wasn't being forceful but they couldn't wait. Holding her by the arm they moved to the door. They turned to the right and went to what they hoped was the back of the house. They knew the front door led to the street and there would more than likely be people on the street. Their only hope was to go out the back and hide in the shadows of the night and find a whole in the wall they had around this make shift town.

They tore out of the house down a small path past a garage to an ally. Daryl quickly looked in both directions before going left. Ell tried her best to keep up with him but it wasn't as if he was making these decisions with her. No he was making them fast and he was moving faster. He held her by the arm every step of the way. But still being chained together made every step difficult.

Arriving back at the prison just as the dark over took them Rick felt defeated. They'd found no sign of Daryl or Ell. Sitting on the bed he shared with her he couldn't help but wonder what the hell she'd been thinking. He still wasn't sure if Daryl was hunting. But Ell, why would she run off? Was she that desperate to keep from having that baby? His baby. No, even if she did take off she would have changed her mind and come back. She wasn't the kind of person to do something like that. Run off with his baby.

Laying back he put his arm over his face. How was he going to sleep knowing that she was somewhere maybe hurt. He knew he had to go back out when the sun came up. But he wasn't about to take Shane with him. He was no help at all. He wasn't sure he would take anyone with him. If he were alone he could go where he wanted and stay as long as he wanted without anyone to say anything about it. He closed his eyes trying to will himself to sleep. If he was going to go out on his own he needed to get some rest. He fell asleep thinking over and over that Ell was somewhere held up waiting to start heading back to the prison as soon as the sun came up.

Daryl had managed to get them to the wall. Now they were moving along it looking for a chance to get out. They were half running half walking as they moved. Ell pulled on his arm making him stop. "Wait, wait." She was looking at the wall trying to catch her breath. "We can climb this." She put her hands on a piece of picket fence they were using to reinforce that part of the wall.

"How?" He looked like her like she'd lost her mind. Clime the wall while chained together? Really?

"We just have to move our feet at the same time." She put her hands on the wall and waited for him to follow her lead.

Daryl gave her the benefit of the doubt and began climbing right along side her. They had to move the feet that were chained together at the same time which made it seem like the whole thing was taking twice as long as it should. But some how they managed to get to the top. Looking down on the other side there was a sheer metal wall. Nothing to grip onto to to slow them down. Their only option was to jump and trust that they wouldn't break anything.

Turning back when they herd a woman scream Daryl knew that someone had found the two dead bodies they left behind. "Ready?" He asked and she nodded then looked back at the ground. They were at least twelve feet off the ground. They both leaned forward and let go.

They hit the ground and rolled into each other. With the wind being knocked out her Ell rolled to her back trying to catch her breath. Before her facilities fully came back to her Daryl was on his feet and pulling her to hers. They could hear the chaos behind the wall as men hurried from one spot to another and people screamed in fear, but yet no one really knew what all the pandemonium was about.

"We have to go." Daryl made sure she was steady on her feet and the two of them hurried away from the wall.

Rick woke well before the sun, but he couldn't force himself to stay in bed any longer. And if he was going to leave before anyone else woke he needed to go soon. He moved quietly as to not wake anyone as he gathered a few previsions into a backpack. He'd left his car next to the gate the night before so when he started it he wouldn't wake anyone. Once he was on his way he headed in the opposite direction that they'd went the day before. He had to find her, he wasn't going back again without her.
