A/N: Hey guys I fixed a few mistakes in this chapter and changed some things around as well. In a previous review someone mentioned something about demons possibly coming into the story?
I just wanted to say: Thank you for asking that because it gave me a new idea to add into this plot... muahaha!
...
Ha!
I'm really getting excited about this story again; it's nearing towards the end! It's crazy!
Special thanks to: xstoryloverx for reviewing last chapter
Valentine's Day
Prt. 3
The Grill
Matt Donovan smiled warmly at his latest customer as he prepared a fruity little drink for her. She was hot, like, surface of the sun hot, and he wanted to make an impression. She had to of been no older than 23...it could work.
Yeah. Just as soon as hell freezes over. Haaaa, oh my life sometimes I swear.
She was petite with breath-taking features fit for a model, and her long dark brown hair was just an added bonus. She wore a black dress which complimented her curves perfectly, with a daring neck line down the center of it. The jewelry she sported made it obvious that she either had money or knew where to find the cheap stuff that looked real.
Matt couldn't take his eyes off of her.
He handed her, her drink and the two began conversing. She took occasional sips from it, and almost everything she said seemed to have an underlying message of sexual want. The weird thing? They were only talking about why they were both in town. Matt just wanted to ask her out already – what with the surprising sexual tension rising - but chickened out, figuring she was way too out of his league. He was only eighteen after all.
What he found most intriguing about her was the shade of blue that her eyes were, they looked almost purple.
Matt remained somewhat in control as she eyed him like he was a piece of meat.
She was admiring his chiseled body and handsome features that were complimented by his blonde hair and bluish/green eyes. He looked positively delicious.
After asking her a simple question and getting no reply, just a predatory stare; Matt squirmed in his place. He continued trying to make small talk about the weather or whatever, but instead she just licked her lips as a reply. A pair of fangs peeked out from behind her plump lips and Matt froze.
He looked away from her lips and into her eyes, a gasp of surprise escaping him.
"Forgive me Matthew, you see I haven't eaten in quite some time and after traveling for so long I seem to have…worked up an appetite. You understand?"
Matt didn't even register her words, it was impossible, for all he heard was the hammering of his own heart. She wasn't a vampire she was… something else.
Her fangs had reached an extraordinary length and now a set of horns sat atop of her head. Her hands had transformed into massive claws, and now…now her complexion was paper white rather than the healthy tan it had been just moments ago.
Her eyes widened seeming to have just noticed this as she looked down at herself.
"Oh! Oh no do not be frightened, please? I beg of you! You are the only one that can see me in my true form right now, please, do not make a scene"
Too late
Her eyes were red for Christ's sake!
Matt reached for the kitchen knife underneath the counter top, just below his fingertips, out of sight. He gulped and tried to steady himself as he looked her in the eyes. He was going to take the knife, stab her hand, and then make a run for it, but something unexpected happened that prevented him from doing so.
The knife disappeared and the room became eerily quiet. Men and women all around the room stood up from their seats at various wooden tables, and booths. Anyone else that remained sitting was now frozen in place, as if time itself had ceased to exist.
Matt looked passed her and towards a man who appeared to be the leader of the group. He was the tallest and appeared to be the strongest due to his size. He wore an all black suit, while his black hair was neatly slicked back.
He took one step towards Matt, then another with the kitchen knife in his hands. He twirled the weapon around and around in between his fingertips, and smiled. His voice was deep when he spoke and it sent chills all over Matt's body. There was something unmistakably powerful about him.
"Funny. You humans used to be so much more timid. You used to be afraid of the darkness...afraid of all the evil lurking around in this world."
The man's smile dropped and flames seemed to appear in the center of his eyes as the room darkened.
"You were smart back then, but now? Now you make fucking movies and TV shows about the underworld, about a place that you know absolutely nothing about. You make it seem like a dark and scary place where my demons don't think about anything but destruction and death. Where I am the bad guy because I keep everything that is evil in check, because everything that you are scared of is sent down to my domain for punishment. Well let me tell you something you little shit God gave us all responsibilities and mine happened to be the most important so show me some respect, show my family some respect."
Matt gulped and took a step back.
"Who are you?"
"My friends call me Lu, but you can call me Lucifer"
Matt's eyes became so wide at that point, it was almost comical.
"Y-you mean you're...you're-"
"That's right, El Diablo...bitch. Now let's get one thing straight, I'm going to let you off with a warning this one time just because you were too stupid to realize that you threatened my baby girl. If you ever try that shit again there will be hell to pay, literally.
"But father he didn't-"
The demon woman shut her lips as her apparent father raised a hand in warning.
"Enough. Human, tell me where Niklaus Mikaelson is. Fail to do so and I will burn you alive before you can even register what is happening to you. Do you want to go to hell? It's not exactly fun for your kind, I can assure you of that. The whole burning for eternity thing, is kind of a downer."
Matt's mind went completely blank, and sweat coated his now shaking hands.
He nodded in understanding and revealed Klaus's address without even thinking of the consequences.
The man snapped his fingers and disappeared from sight in two seconds time as his body was engulfed by blue flames. The rest of the supernatural creatures followed suit with the woman lingering a little bit longer than the rest.
She looked normal again and smiled at him sheepishly before she too teleported out of there in a pile of flames.
Following their absence the rest of the room continued on as if nothing had just happened. Matt let out a breath of air he hadn't even realized that he'd been holding in. He rushed out into the back where the restaurant's stock of supplies was held. He closed the door behind him and dialed the one person's number he thought might have an idea on what was going on.
The Deluxe Hotel
20 miles from Mystic Falls
"Damnit Katherine! Quit playing games and tell me where it is or so help me-"
"You'll what, Elijah? Send me an enraged letter about how annoyed you are? Please. You wouldn't hurt me, it's just not in you."
The sassy doppelganger felt a cocky smile, tilt her lips upward. She was enjoying this way too much.
She had Elijah all wound up as he stood across from her at the hotel's breakfast table. His cheeks were flushed and his vampire side was evident, as his eyes became suddenly more demonic looking. He held an enraged stance at the table with his open palms flat against the cool wooden surface of the table and his face just inches away from his ex-lover's face.
"Offer me protection from Klaus and I will give you what you want." She repeated and Elijah pushed away from the table. He then began pacing at a supernatural speed then, finally, turned around and roared.
"That is something I cannot offer you. It is not my place. Ask of something else and I will give it to you, that I promise."
Off to the side lay Rebekah, her body draped over the plush couch cushions. She flipped through the pages of a magazine and chuckled, mumbling something under her breath that involved Katherine's name.
Katherine turned around in her chair and glared.
"What was that?"
Rebekah ignored her, the smile on her face never leaving. This whole thing was both amusing and pathetic on her brother's part. Besides it wasn't Klaus Katherine should be worried about, it was Aurora.
Katherine stood from her place and stalked towards Rebekah, prepared to tell her off, when Rebekah stood and was suddenly choking her. The temperamental blonde grinned viciously at Katherine and threw her onto the couch, pushing her down every time she tried to get back up.
"You forget your place, whore. I am neither of my brothers' so make no mistake when I say that once you are no longer of use to Elijah I will kill you. You are a pathetic excuse for a living, breathing, thing and I will not allow you to spread your poison amongst my family any longer. Have some respect, if not for me then at least for yourself."
Rebekah spit in Katherine's face and threw her across the room, watching in satisfaction as the witch hit the wall. The irritated blonde then left the room, for if she didn't, she knew that she would most likely snap and kill Katherine before Elijah got what he needed from her.
Rebekah walked into the bathroom as she collected her thoughts and kept her temper in check. Her nostrils flared while she gripped the counter in front of her for support.
The sudden ringing of her phone caused her to jump in surprise. She checked the caller I.D. and smiled in spite of herself. It was Matt.
I wonder what he wants?
She answered on the second ring and grinned like a damn fool.
"Matt! What an interesting surprise, um…how are y-"
"Rebekah, there are demons in Mystic Falls, like, demons-demons what the fuck is going on?"
Rebekah's smile fell and her eyes narrowed. He seemed angered and he was directing his fowl mood at her. She didn't even do anything!
She inhaled sharply and matched his angered tone with her own.
"I don't know. Why don't you figure out what the fuck is going on for yourself?"
And with that she ended their call. She was about to put her phone back in her pocket when it rang again. She didn't even bother checking the caller I.D. this time, just hissed out a warning at who she presumed to be Matt.
"Get bent Matt!"
Instead of an angry reply from the handsome human, she received her brother's voice on the other end of the line.
"What? Never mind. Rebekah get back to Mystic Falls immediately, something has happened. I…I need your help, please 'Bekah."
"Nik what in the hell is happening? Matt said something about demons and I-"
She didn't even get to finish, Nik had already hung up.
Well that was…odd. How much could I have possibly missed in two days!
A/N: Are the demons good or bad? What do you think?
Also IMPORTANT QUESTION: Who do you guys want the next chapter to involve? Klaus, Jeremy and Kol, Aurora, or someone else? Let me know!
A new update will be coming sooner than you think.
