It all had all turned out well in the end. Well as well as it could have gone. If you ignored the fact that Adrien's dad had been sent to jail, for a long time...it looked like a happy ending. Firstly the villain had been caught, secondly both the miraculous had been saved, thirdly Master Fu had let her keep her miraculous. There was one thing that was left to be done now. She stared at the ring in her hand.

For days she had tried to pluck up the courage to give it back to Adrien but had backed down at the last moment. Now she had dragged herself out of her house and wasn't going to move until she had given it back to Adrien.

'Marinette...come on you can do it!'she encouraged herself.

"I can't do it," Marinette moaned.

"Don't give up Marinette. if you don't do it now Adrien might never be Chatnoir again," Tikki warned her.

"You are right Tikki," she said boldly. Now a days Tikki's encouragement seemed to be more affective. Maybe it was the fact that Tikki was with her again. She rang the bell.

Unlike before, the door open instead if Ms Nathalie's voice coming out of the speaker.

"Marinette! Come on in," Adrien said with in a surprised yet cheerful.

She was the last person he had expected to see on the door, yet he couldn't say that he had not thought about her in the whole day. Maybe once...twice...ten times...

Now that she was standing in front of her, he couldn't help but feel guilty about leaving her alone with his dad that night.

"He...he...hello,"he could see that she was nervous.

"Hey," he then opened the door further so she could walk in. She stepped in.

"Let's go to the lounge,"he said leading the way.

Marinette could feel her breathe locking up inside her throat. This was going to be uncomfortable. She sat down on the couch he was pointing at, he sat across from her. They sat in a silence for a while.

"So what is happening at...the bakery...these days?" he asked with a lot of pauses.

"It...it is going...flaboulously," she was stammering again. There was another silence, Marinette bit her lip,'Just say it!'

"Listen...Adrien...We need you back as Chatnoir," she said the last part of the sentence in a single breath.

"I...I can't," Adrien replied, lowering his eyes.

"Why...Why not?" she said in a panic.

Adrien could no longer look directly into her eyes anymore. Shame had gripped every muscle in his body.

"I can't because...because...I am afraid," Adrien said fiddling with his fingers. There was a silence yet again, he looked up. Marinette was looking at him patiently to elaborate his sentence.

"Marinette I am afraid that I will let my feelings interfere with this important job,"Adrien said helplessly.

"You used to love Ladybug too, that didn't stop you," Marinette said leaving her place and walking over to him.

"That...that was different. It never really affected my actions before...not in the way it did before. I literally left you to fight my...father...all alone," he lowered his gaze again.

Marinette bent down and grabbed his face into her hand pulling i up to meet her eyes.

"That happens to everyone. If someone did something to you I might have dine the same too. But Adrien..."she took his hand into hers. He looked at her with surprise but tightened his grip.

"...All the time that we have worked together and all the villains we have fought has shown me that we are really suited to this job. I trust Master Fu enough to know that he won't ever select anyone wrong to do this job," she seemed to be explaining this both to Adrien and herself,"You are Paris's superhero, and Paris calls to you in distress. We can't do anything without you."

Adrien said,"But..."

"Give it a try,"Marinette placed the ring in his hand.

Adrien looked at it with a strange feeling. He put it on releasing Plagg.

"So she wins," Plagg said coolly. Adrien laughed and in a few seconds Marinette joined in too. They were disturbed by a distant cry for help.

"Let's go,Tikki spots on!"Marinette said smiling.

"Plagg claw out!" he cried too.

"What would I do without you Bugaboo," he grinned at her.

"My kitty is back!" Marinette yelled hugging him.
