Guess Who's Back
Previously on Power Rangers
'My extreme sport is Scuba Diving.' Hunter, Dustin and Blake laughed at her. 'What?' Dawn asked them coldly.
'Scuba Diving isn't an extreme sport.' Blake said.
'Yeah, all you do is go underwater!' Hunter said but quickly quietened himself from the look he was given from Dawn.
'It's not like Motocross, which you can get hurt in!' Dustin joined in.
'Oh really?' Dawn asked innocently. 'Okay then,' She took off her jacket and handed it to Dustin. 'Carry this for me would you?' She walked off slightly and left the jacket for Dustin to pick up. He walked up to it and attempted to pick it up with one hand but failed. He picked it up with two but had to drop it again. Dawn sighed before walking up to him.
'Are you done?' She asked and picked up the jacket with one hand and continued to walk on.
'That doesn't mean anything!'
The other Rangers all walked onto the rocks available and sat down. Dawn was washing her mask when she heard a voice.
'Well, well, well, if it isn't old Diving Dawn!' Dawn turned around and squealed before flinging herself into the man's arms.
'Oh my God! Christopher Carr!' Dawn pulled back but stayed in his arms. 'I haven't seen you in so long!'
'I know, I was really surprised when I got your message. Especially after your little disappearing act.' Dawn blushed and smiled sheepishly.
'Who was that?' He asked whilst trying to control the emotion in his voice.
'That was Chris,' Dawn said to him. 'He's my buddy.'
'Buddy?'
'Yeah, when you go diving you have to have a partner in case there are any problems.' Dawn looked at him weirdly before smiling her head off.
'What?' Hunter asked self-consciously.
'You're jealous!' Dawn said whilst smiling like there no tomorrow.
'No I'm not!' Hunter said whilst blushing slightly and backing off.
'Yes you are!' Dawn said happily as she walked towards him. 'You, Hunter Bradley, are jealous!' Dawn burst out laughing.
'Thanks a lot, I'm glad my envy please you.'
'Aww,' Dawn walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. 'Baby, it's Cam's job to be green not you.' Hunter wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her even closer. Dawn kissed him passionately on the lips making Dustin cover his eyes whilst shouting out "PDA". The two of them separated. 'Plus, you were the ones who wanted to know more about my life.'
'And what does Chris have to do with your life?'
'Why? Because you're a ranger?' Chris said. 'Come back, please!' Chris pleaded her.
'I'm not just A ranger Chris, I'm THE Ranger. It's my destiny to make this the final fight, to end the war between good and evil. I was chosen for a reason. I can't just turn my back on it.'
'Oh, but you can turn your back on this?'
'Chris! For God's sake, listen to yourself! I thought you understood!' Chris sighed.
'I do, I'm sorry,' he paused. 'It's just, we all miss you so much. Me and Hazel more because we know what you're up to. We never know if you're alive or dead, and we can't tell anyone!' Dawn put a cold hand on Chris' face.
'I'm sorry I'm putting you through this,' Dawn said before taking her hand away. She gave him a small peck on his cheek before stepping back a little. Her necklace beeped and the moment was ruined.
'I have to go,' she said to Chris. 'Got a Demon to fight.' Chris nodded mutely, his head was downcast as Dawn flamed away.
'Did you get all you needed?' Chris asked over his shoulder.
'Yes,' a woman replied from the shadows. 'You did well, she didn't suspect a thing.'
'And when you get what you want, she'll come back. You'll make sure she comes back to me?'
Now on Power Rangers
Storm Chargers was dark and was closed. Yet, it wasn't odd that a giggling could be heard from the back room. Clothes of red and other assorted colours could be seen on the floor towards the back room.
Inside the room was two figures lying underneath a grey sheet and were snuggling whilst smiling. It was the two naked figures of Shane and Kelly.
'Shane?' Kelly asked as her face went serious. 'Don't you think we should tell your friends about us?'
'Kelly,' Shane sighed. 'You know I want to, I'm just not sure how they'll react to this. There is an age difference.'
'It's only five years!' She argued before sighing. 'I'm sorry, it's just, this floor really isn't comfortable.' Shane smiled apologetically before smiling sinisterly.
'Then maybe,' he said before flipping over so that she was on top of him. 'You should use me as a cushion.' Kelly laughed before closing the distance between them and giving him a deep kiss.
Hunter awoke on an unfamiliar bed and big mass of brunette hair covering his crimson clad shirt. He smiled down at Dawn's head as he stroked her hair lovingly causing her to stir. Slowly, Dawn turned her face up to him and smiled at him.
'Hey.' She whispered to him whilst smiling slightly as she moved to lie beside him.
'Hey yourself.' Hunter returned as he caressed her cheek. Dawn closed her eyes and smiled contentedly.
'What time is it?' Dawn asked softly. Hunter lifted up his watch and looked at it.
'Seven thirty.' He told her causing her to open her eyes in shock.
'Please tell me you're joking!' She said in a panicky voice. Hunter laughed at her making Dawn slowly move back down to the pillow and glare at him. 'That wasn't funny.'
'Yeah it was.' Hunter said as he tried to control his laughing. Dawn growled before getting off the bed making Hunter groan at the loss of contact. Dawn smiled at him before going into her bathroom. Hunter moaned before flopping back onto his back and putting his arm behind his bed.
'SO WHAT DO YOU WANNA DO TODAY?' Hunter called into the bathroom, he then heard the shower turn on. 'Oh, you wanna shower.' Hunter said to himself before getting off the bed. 'I'LL BE IN THE KITCHEN!' He heard a muffled reply as he walked out of Dawn's room and down the hallway, through the living room and into the small kitchen. He found Tori there who was cooking pancakes whilst dancing to the radio. She hadn't noticed Hunter yet so he just went in and sat down and watched her. 'Hi.' He said making his presence known causing Tori to jump and shriek as she burnt herself on the pan.
'Shit.' She mumbled to herself making Hunter jump up and look at the burn.
'I am SO sorry, I didn't mean for that to happen.' Hunter cried as he fussed over her hand with a wet cloth.
'No, it's fine.' Tori said softly as she looked up and realised how close she and Hunter were. 'It's stopped burning now.' Hunter looked up and smiled softly.
'Just like old times, huh?' Hunter said jokingly.
'What's like old times?' Dawn said from the doorway as she looked at the close pair.
'That was a quick shower.' Hunter commented.
'She doesn't spend that long in there,' Tori answered for him. 'She's the perfect roommate.'
'Stop avoiding the question.' Dawn said from where she was standing in a fluffy bathrobe. 'What's like old times?' Hunter looked down before Tori took over.
'When Blake left we both took it hard, Hunter came over I cooked pancakes, burnt myself and then there was what you just saw, which was followed by a kiss that meant nothing.' Hunter gaped at her as she rattled off everything that happened.
'Oh.' Dawn said from the doorway before walking over to the table. 'Okay then.'
'What?' Hunter asked ludicrously. 'That's it? No dramatics? Just, oh okay then?'
'Sweetie,' Dawn said as she turned in her chair with a glass of orange juice in her hand. 'Does it bother you that I'm not jealous?' She asked playfully and Tori and her looked on as Hunter squirmed uncomfortably.
'No.' Hunter said whilst he looked at the ground. 'Maybe.' He said eventually. Dawn sighed before getting up and walking over to him. Tori excused herself and carried her pancakes with her into the living room.
'Hunter,' she said as she wrapped her arms around his neck and he placed his hands on her waist. 'Did you really think that I wouldn't have figured out that you had a life before me? I'm the newcomer. Of course you guys are going to have shared things that I probably will never find out about.'
'But we kissed,' Hunter said confused. 'Doesn't that bother you?'
'The kiss happened BEFORE you and me. I'm the only one kissing you now, and vice versa.' Dawn said in a tone that was final before leaning up and kissing him gently on the lips. 'Now, I have to go get ready for work. I'll see you at lunch?' Dawn asked as she walked backwards towards the door.
'Yeah.' Hunter said as he followed her out and he walked into the living room. He stood there for a moment just watching Dawn's bedroom door.
'Totally Talented re run's are on.' Tori said from the sofa.
'Oh!' Hunter said before walking over and sitting next to her and the two jigged to the theme tune.
Dawn sighed as she bussed another table. She had no idea that teenager's could be this messy. She quickly stopped her moaning as she remembered that there were more important things than untidy teenagers. She grunted quietly as she lifted up the grey box and carried it over to another table. She lifted the dirty plates into the box and used her damp cloth to wipe off any of the grime that had been there from the last meal. She was so wrapped up in what she was doing that she didn't notice the person standing behind her until they put a hand on her shoulder. She shrieked and threw up her cloth, which landed on the person's head. Dawn laughed as she pulled it off their head.
'Chris?' Dawn said as she pulled him into a hug. 'What're you doing here?' The two stayed together until Dawn pulled back and picked up the grey box and Chris followed her.
'Well, you know, I was in town. Thought I'd stop by.' Chris said with a small smile.
'And how on earth did you just end up in town? Last I heard there was whole, big, wide, blue, cold ocean standing between Telford and California. Not to mention the big, honking space of land.' Dawn asked playfully as she turned around and faced him whilst leaning on the counter.
Chris looked down at the ground with a big grin on his face before answering. 'I got the scholarship.' Dawn's eyes and mouth widened in a happy expression before he pounced on him.
'OH MY GOD!' Dawn said as she smiled at him widely. 'This is cause for a celebration.' Dawn pulled the chopsticks out of her hair and untied her red wrap around and threw them over the counter. 'Let's go!'
'Wow,' Chris commented. 'You've gotten WILD Smith!'
Dawn looked at the ground sheepishly. 'Actually, it's the end of my shift. I have two hours before I need to be at the Holiday Inn.' Dawn started to fidget with her fingers a little bit.
'You wanna go pick them up?' Chris asked.
'Yeah,' Dawn told him quickly before running off to behind the counter and putting her red wrap on the hook. She ran back to his arm and linked hers with his. 'Let's go. Again.' Chris chuckled happily as the two friends walked out of the café and out onto the beach.
Dawn looked at her watch as she hurried through the doors of the small café. 'Crap.' She muttered to herself as she spotted Hunter looking at his half empty glass. She smiled when she saw him and walked over to him.
'Hey sweetie, sorry I'm late.' Hunter's face lit up when he saw her and stood up to kiss her on the lips.
'What took you?' Dawn went to explain but hesitated slightly before covering it up.
'Work asked me to work a bit longer, I need the money seen as I'm not taking the Athena job.' Dawn smiled slightly before looking at the menu. 'So, what's good here?'
Chris walked down a dark alleyway into an abandoned warehouse. He stopped and looked around after he had entered.
'I have to say,' Sophie said to him as she stepped out of a door whilst reading some post. 'I expected you earlier.'
'I have to say,' Chris said to her. 'I expected more.' He said disdainfully as he looked around the room disgustedly.
'Well your little honey bunny Dawn had to go and ruin my old haunt by putting a rather large hole in the wall. How is the darling sun ranger, anyway?'
'Oblivious, as always.' Chris said to her smirking his head off before going and landing on her sofa.
'Nice to hear.' She said distracted before holding up a letter. 'Why am I receiving your post?'
'Oh, I thought I'd be crashing here seen as I have nowhere else to go.' Chris said to her easily before putting his feet onto the table.
'Okay, first off, get your feet off my table,' Sophie said before flaming out and sitting next to him. 'And secondly, if our plan goes accordingly, where will my gorgeous sister, Dawn, visit you?' Chris looked mortified at the thought. 'She can't come here, not whilst I'm here.'
'Well, where do I go?' Chris asked confused. Sophie looked to her left and picked up the newspaper before handing it to him.
'Looks like you're house hunting.' Sophie smirked at him before getting up and walking back upstairs to the top level of the warehouse. Chris sighed and stood up but dropped the newspaper on the sofa.
'I will.' He said whilst stretching.
'You will?' Sophie asked him when she heard the wrong tense.
'Yeah, I will, later though. I have a certain Dawn to watch on the beach.' Chris told her smugly.
'She fell for it?' Sophie asked excitedly as she leant on the railing.
'Hook and line.' Chris told her.
'What about sinker?'
'Well, that's not going to happen for a while yet. Hunter's still on the scene.' Chris spat out his name disdainfully.
'And I can't say I blame her for that decision.' She said to him whilst smiling smugly. 'Now, go, to the beach, she's waiting for you.' Sophie walked back into the room she came out of whilst retrieving the post she had put down on the table.
Dawn walked along the beach with her feet being lapped by the waves. She looked at her watch and saw that he was five minutes late. She sighed and turned round to walk home when, but she turned around and almost bumped into Chris.
'Eep!' Chris laughed as heard the sound emanate from her mouth causing Dawn to scowl at him. 'What?'
'I'm sorry, it's just, I've never heard a Power Ranger go eep!' Chris said teasing her. Dawn playfully punched him in the shoulder, which made him stop laughing after a while and hold his shoulder. 'Ow.' Dawn smirked at him and raised his eyebrows before walking off.
Chris ran after her and grabbed her arm.
'Oh come on Dawnie! You know I'm only joking.' Chris kept a grip on her arm as she stared up at him defiantly. 'Don't make me tickle you.' He said with a devilish smile making her eyes widen in shock.
'You wouldn't dare.' Dawn said unsure.
'Wouldn't I?' Chris told her whilst raising his eyebrow.
'Look!' Dawn said whilst pointing behind him. 'Katie Holmes!'
'Ooh, where?' He turned around giving Dawn the chance to run off laughing her head off. 'HEY!' He chased after her and they both ran inot the ocean laughing manically
Unbeknownst to Dawn though, Hunter was watching her form the top of the sand dunes. He watched angrily as the two of them fell into the water together before walking back to his car and speeding home.
Hunter was sitting in his apartment that he and Blake shared. He was fiddling with a piece of wood as he sat at a table. He heard Dawn come in and enter the room, but his gaze never wandered from the wood in his hand. He felt as she came up behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck to give him a kiss on the cheek, but he shrugged her off and walked to the other side of the room.
'What's wrong sweetie?' Dawn asked oblivious to her boyfriend's anger.
'Don't.' Hunter said to her as he stared out of the blinds at the window.
'Don't what, Hunter?' Dawn asked scared at his tone.
'Why did you tell me?'
'Tell you what?' Dawn asked exasperatedly.
'Chris is in town.' Hunter told her and received nothing but silence in return. He turned around and stared at her accusingly. 'What? No more questions or do you want a longer answer? Or maybe, I should ask the question, like, I dunno, why you felt you had to lie to me about him being here, or, how about this, why you're cheating on me with him?' Dawn looked up angrily.
'I am NOT cheating on you, give me some credit, please!'
'Why?' Hunter asked shortly.
'What? Why what?' Dawn asked confused and slightly hysterical.
'Why should I believe you?' Hunter embellished for her slowly. 'Why should I believe that you haven't been kissing him, hugging him and screwing him behind my back!' Hunter had by now walked up to her and Dawn had had enough, she slapped him. Hard.
'How dare you? Is that all you think I am? Is that what you think I feel for you? You think that the moment someone else comes into the picture I'm off and I'm sleeping with him? He's been here for a day!!!' Dawn was breathing heavily now and had moved away from Hunter in disgust. 'I can't believe you think so little of me.' She said whilst pushing her hair back off her face.
'You haven't given me any reason not to.' Dawn looked at him tearfully. 'You turn up late to a dinner because of him, and you leave early to go meet him again?' Dawn looked at him silently and slightly guilty. 'Do you realise that you haven't forwardly denied anything yet?'
'I am not cheating on you with him.' Dawn said slowly.
'Then why do I feel like this? Why are we arguing like this, if there wasn't something to be arguing about?' Hunter yelled at her making Dawn recoil slightly in fear. He stepped forward making her step back. 'You're scared of me.' Hunter said fearfully.
'What do you expect? We're in a darkened room, the blinds are closed and you're accusing e of cheating on you, this screams stalker movie to me!' Dawn cried.
'Well then maybe you should leave?' Hunter told her quietly looking away form her. Dawn looked up at him crying fully now.
'What?' She asked brokenly.
'Leave. Before I do something I regret.' Hunter said to her.
'Like what?' She asked croakily.
'Forgive you.' Hunter told her making her walk out of the room in shock and holding her stomach as if she felt sick.
Dawn walked absently along the roads of Blue Bay Harbour not really paying attention to where she was going. She was jolted back to reality when someone bumped into her. She nearly fell over but was caught by two strong arms. She looked up into the eyes of her rescuer and sighed when she recognised them.
'How is it you're always around when I need you?' She asked her captor.
'Dunno, I guess I have a sixth sense.' Chris said as he pulled her up into his arms and smirked evilly behind her back.
'I just, can't believe he would suspect those things.' Dawn said as she sat on the bench, her head resting on Chris' shoulder as she told him everything.
'Hmm.' Chris hummed in a way that showed he wasn't listening fully and was stroking Dawn's hand with his thumb as he stared at it.
'Are you even listening?' Dawn asked playfully as she looked up at him.
'Yes, in fact, I was. I'm much better at that now. You see, I can't believe he said those things either, but, I can kinda see where he's coming from.' Chris lowered his head towards Dawn's as he stared deeply into her eyes. Dawn saw this and pulled back at the last second, a moment before there was a blackout throughout Blue Bay Harbour.
'I have to go.' Dawn rushed out as she stood up and walked away.
'But! What about-' Chris complained as she walked away.
'I'm sorry Chris, but I don't love you anymore, I love Hunter.' Dawn told him as she flamed out and left him there.
'We'll see about that.' Chris spat out as he disappeared in ripples of air.
Dawn takes a deep breath, whilst being careful of the candle she was holding and knocked on Hunter's door. Hunter answered and left the door open for her to come in.
'Blake in?' She asked wearily.
'No. I think he's at Tori's again.' Hunter said as he sat on the window sill again.
'No candles? Well, I brought one. It's extra flamey.' Dawn said as she held up the flame as if offering it to him. Hunter looked at her but said nothing. 'Okay.' Dawn said as she put it down on the table and walked towards him. 'Hunter, I have to tell you-'
'No.' Hunter interrupted her. 'It's okay, I've done a lot of thinking and, you have to be with the one you love.' He said as he looked down unhappily.
'But I am.' She said to him smiling as he looked up amazed that she had still chosen him after everything he had said.
'You mean?' Hunter asked unsure.
'I mean. I know that we both said some things that we didn't want to say in the past, but I'm ready to start again.' Hunter stood up and walked towards her to hug her. 'I feel terrible for everything I've put you through. And I'm gonna make it up to you. Starting right now.'
'No.' Hunter said to her quietly. 'We don't to anymore.' Dawn looked up at him happily and reached up to kiss him on the lips before going back to the balls of her feet and allowing Hunter to kiss her forehead.
Dawn and Hunter were lying asleep on the couch of his apartment, the only light being form the single candle in the room. It didn't last long, though. An angered Chris stood over them holding the candle before blowing it out harshly and disappearing from the apartment, just as Dawn's eyes snap open.
