A/N: Just wanted to let everyone know that this chapter is where it gets kind of bloody. So I'd just thought I warn all of you about this before starting to read this part of the story.
Chapter 21
James braced himself when he went flying towards a nearby boulder and his back slammed into it. He felt a sharp pain on the right side of his back as he opened his eyes and glared at General Scales who was starting to walk towards him with his claws drawn close to his face. The vulpine quickly rolled out of the way once he saw the reptilian's claws almost come within reach of his face. He then brought the sword down onto the General's left hand causing him to roar out in pain. The anthro fox then pulled out the blade as he said, "Well, it seems that you're a bit too slow to keep up with me, Scales."
"Shut up, you irritating vermin!" The Sharpclaw shouted, as he tried to attack again.
The former leader of the Star Fox team was ready for the oncoming attack though as he brought his sword up to clash with the anthro general's claws. And while the two glared at each other James took note of a large scar which was on the reptile's neck as he thought, "Hmm, that's a pretty big scar his got there. If I can just hit it than I should be able to turn this fight in my favor."
The anthro mercenary thought on his feet as he turned the blade slightly to its side so that it stuck against Scales hand that was against it. And within a few seconds blood starting to flow out from the hand. James made the wound a bit more worse when he slashed the sword against the small wound he had made causing it to spread on the reptile's palm. Scales quickly pulled his hand back and balled it into a fist in an attempt to try and stop the bleeding while he shouted, "Darn you!"
"Well, it seems you won't be using any of your hands to attack me with again. Unless of course you want me to cut both of them right off of you." The brown and white furred fox commented, before he charged at his opponent.
James was caught off guard when Scales dodge his attack and used the claws on his right hand to slash his face. This caused him to yell out in pain as he backed up a bit and placed his left hand on his face. And while he removed the hand away from his face and saw a little bit of blood on it he then heard the general's voice when he let out a chuckle and commented with, "Now what was it that you said earlier? That if I tried to slash with my claws that you were going to cut off my hands."
James said nothing as he lowered his left hand away from his face and stared at the ground. He then used the speed that came with his type of species and seemed as though he disappeared. And before Scales knew it his right hand was cut clear off of his body. This prompted the general to roar out in pain and grab the large wound with his already wounded hand. The leader of the Sharpclaw reframed from yelling in pain for a second while he shouted, "How dare you do such an underhanded trick! I'll make you pay for this!"
James spotted using his fast speed so that he was standing a few feet away from Scales as he replied, "An underhanded trick. I'm afraid you just don't understand how my or other certain species seem to work on this planet."
"And exactly what do you mean by that?!" The General snarled when the fox saw him sharply turn around to face him.
"It's exactly like I said. But then again I don't need to explain this type of information to you." The mercenary shot back, before he began to run towards the Sharpclaw once again.
The vulpine ignored the sharp pain which shot from his left shoulder when he felt Scales's teeth as they sunk into his fur and skin. He gritted his teeth together as he pulled the sword upward and made it slice the scar on the reptile's neck. Almost instantly after this had been done the Sharpclaw leader roared in agony while he let go of the vupline's neck and took a few steps away from him. James took the opportunity to strike the finishing blow when he slashed the sword through the reopened wound on Scales neck. This took the anthro reptilian's head clear off of his body.
And while the general's body fell onto the sand turning it into a deep red he quickly put his sword and held onto his injured shoulder. He then proceeded to slowly make his way back towards the Spirit Temple once he had let out, "Don't worry Zelda, even though I'm injured I'll still do my best to protect you and my grandchildren from harm. Even if I end up dying while trying to do so."

Fox slowly began to walk down the last stairway which he knew led to the Great Fairy Fountain as he opened a bottle and drank the red potion that was inside of it. Once he had done this he felt reenergized while he walked down to the fountain area and thought out loud, "Hmm, I don't see an instrument of any kind around here. So how am I going to summon the Great Fairy here now?"
The vulpine king was caught off guard when a bright flash of light shined in front of him prompting him to cover his eyes with his left arm. And once the light had faded and he had moved his arm away from his face the anthro fox saw a tan skinned woman with long red hair and desert clothing on standing in front of him. The woman bowed for a short time before she greeted him with, "It is an honor to finally meet you in person Your Majesty. I am aware of what has happened in Hyrule and I know why you came here. You wish to use the Fierce Deity Mask to seal Ganondorf away in the Realm of Darkness correct?"
Hearing this caused the brown and white furred fox's eyebrows to narrow as he responded back with, "Well, that was the original plan. But after having a lot of time to think the situation over I realized that even if I sealed Ganondorf away he would just find a way to escape from there once he had found its weakest point. And so I've decided that I'm just going to kill him instead. This way no one will ever have to worry about him trying to bring harm to anyone ever again." He looked at the Triforce of Courage which was on his left hand when he added, "So tell me will using that item along with the Master Sword be enough to end Ganondorf once and for all?"
"I see. So that is your decision. But to answer question yes both of those items along with the Light Arrows should be enough to kill him." The Great Fairy reassured him, before she turned away from him. She then extended a hand outward towards the wall on the left side of the room and moved it in a slow waving motion. This caused the wall itself to disappear and when Fox looked over at the opening he saw the Fierce Deity Mask floating in midair on a shelf of stone.
The anthro King slowly began to make his towards the item. And once he was standing in front of it he took it into his hands and asked, "So how exactly do I use this mask? Do I just put it over my mask like a regular mask?"
"Yes, that's exactly right." The red haired woman replied, as the fox let out a heavy breathe of air.
"Well, I guess I don't have anything to lose." Fox told himself, while he brought the mask up and put it over his face. Instantly after doing this the vulpine felt the mask stick itself to his face. Soon after that he felt his bones being crack thus causing him to yell out in great pain. Once he did this there a bright flash of light that filled the entire room which shined the brightest from where he was standing.
