Chapter 21

A/N: Hey everyone! So, thanks for all reviews, follows and favs for this story. So it's confirmed, I will post a sequel, but I need your help. Why? Well, I need to have a plot about the sequel, of course! So anyhow here's your update! Inspiration strikes again you see:)

Disclaimer: Even though I'm tired of doing this, it's better to be safe than sorry. I DO NOT own Les Miserables.

"Th-they what?!" Enjolras cried out again, not even caring at the moment that the both of them could've waken people up. Cosette was his main priority right now.

Cosette's hand flew to her mouth in shock of what she just said.

"Please Julien, leave me be..."

"Euphrasie they mugged you for God's sake!"

"Enjolras..."

"Cosette why did they do that? When?"

"Enjolras please I don't want to be a burden! You've been through too much to even care about me!" She cried out, her eyes widening yet again. Great job, Cosette. She sarcastically thought to herself.

Enjolras on the other hand immediately became speechless. Had Cosette just said that? Since honest is to goodness he wouldn't be surprised if that sentence came out from him. But to come out from Cosette...that would mean that something did happen to her.

But he couldn't have another say on the topic because he heard someone crying. His head snapped up at the noise and his eyes widened in shock once he realized it was Cosette.

He immediately stood up and went to her, making her cry onto his shoulders. He whispered sweet words of comfort in her ear as she wept. This went on for about a few minutes.

Once Cosette finally calmed down, Enjolras picked her up bridal style as he started to go up the staircase.

Cosette struggled within his hold. "Julien don't wear yourself out! I can walk!"

Enjolras shushed her before rolling his eyes. "Sette, I have a fractured but nearly healed shoulder. I would allow you to protest if I were Marius." He said.

Enjolras gently laid her down on her bed. "Fresh dreams my dear sister."

Cosette nodded minutely before drifting off into sleep. Enjolras shut the door behind him before heading to his own room to try and sleep as well.

Once everybody was gathered around the table, greetings of 'good morning' were exchanged. Marius went over to Cosette's seat and placed a soft kiss on her cheek before greeting good morning. She smiled at the greeting before greeting him back.

"Had a good night sleep, Cosette?" Eponine asked, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. Cosette immediately winced in pain.

This didn't go unnoticed by anyone.

"Are you alright? Did I hold too tight..." Eponine asked worriedly, taking her hand off from her best friend's shoulder.

Now that there wasn't any warmth on her shoulder, the pain only felt worse and before she could control herself she yelled in pain. "N-no 'P-Ponine, th-this isn't your fault." She said through gritted teeth.

Marius and Valjean rushed to her side, the others looking at her with concerned glances.

"What's wrong, mon ange?" He asked, patting her knee slightly. Cosette yelled in pain again and she gripped her knee with her free hand.

All of them watched in horror as the young woman yelled in pain.

"Cosette darling, what's wrong?" Marius asked gently, though he was really worried for her.

"I'm fine Marius."

"Joly, Ferre, what's wrong with her?" Courfeyrac asked worriedly. Joly and Combeferre could only shrug helplessly as they both made their way to her.

Valjean gently pulled down Cosette's sleeve which covered her shoulder. They all gasped at the bruise and the cuts which surfaced it.

"Cosette who did this to you?!" Valjean demanded. Cosette looked up at her father, pain the only thing filling her eyes.

"Let's let her lay down on her bed so we can see better." Combeferre suggested. The others nodded frantically as Valjean scooped up Cosette, who was now near unconsciousness from the pain, and headed to her room, quickly followed by the others.

Enjolras closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Those bastards. He muttered.

"Enjolras, what are you waiting for?!" Courfeyrac exclaimed.

"I-I know what happened to her." He said simply. Courfeyrac's eyes grew wide. "Wait, you do?! Oh no time for that, just say it in her room!"

And with that the two men followed the others.

Combeferre and Joly were tending to her wounds. They checked up on her and apparently she has a bruised shoulder and knee, she has a sprained ankle, making Enjolras silently wonder how was she able to walk to him last night, a sprained wrist and a bruised leg.

Valjean was silently praying, Eponine just cast a worried look to her now unconscious best friend occasionally, Grantaire was helping Joly and Combeferre, Courfeyrac was fidgeting in his seat while trying to help calm down. Marius, who looked like he was going to faint at the sight of his beloved so injured, while Enjolras was carefully picking his words to say on how Cosette was in this state numerous times

"Who bastards did this to her?!" Valjean exclaimed, staring at his precious daughter.

Enjolras cleared his throat a bit awkwardly, making everyone's attention turn to him.

"Patron Minette...th-they mugged her in the streets yesterday."

Silence filled the room for a second. It was so silent you could her a pin drop. And then the yelling came.

"WHAT?!"
