No one's P.O.V.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that." Soichiro says sympathetically after L finishes telling him everything. He sooths L for a moment before speaking again. "Feel better?" He asks once L has calmed down.
L nods. "Yes. Thank you very much Yagami-san." He says very gratefully.
The two pull away from each other.
Soichiro gently pats L on the head much like a caring parent will to their son or daughter. "Anytime." He smiles at L. "Why don't you quickly wrap up what you are doing then get some rest. You and Light should find some time to hang out tomorrow."
L opens his mouth to protest about having to catch the criminals, but Soichiro sees it coming so he beats L to speaking.
"If anyone deserves a break it's you." He tells the raven. "You've done more work than the rest of us put together. Even skipping days of sleep to continue working. It's ok to take a break. You shouldn't keep pushing yourself so hard. We'll be fine don't worry. Now wrap up what you're doing and lets get some rest." He explains gently but sternly. "Need help with anything?"
L pauses for a moment closing his mouth not sure how to respond to that seeing that there's no way to change Soichiros mind. "It's ok. I actually finished it before you came in." He saves his work and shuts off the computer he had been working on. He puts his phone in his pocket as he stands.
Soichiro nods. "Alright. Come on lets go get some rest." He leads L off to the bedrooms. He and L enter L's room. "Now no more working. Get some rest."
L sits on the foot bed moving back till he can lay his head down on the pillows. "I promise." He says sincerely.
Soichiro pulls the blanket over the raven then kisses L's forehead. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight." L smiles.
Soichiro smiles back at L before leaving the room shutting off the light and closing the door.
Soichiro's P.O.V.
L may be the world's greatest detective and may be a genius but deep down he is no different than my children. He's honest and hardworking but he still needs to be able to have sometime for himself which he often neglects.
Much like Light in some ways.
I head to my room feeling happy and proud of being able to be the parent L so desperately needs, as well as sympathetic for everything he has had to go through.
It's so sad how life and others treat those that don't deserve it.
I lay down on my bed pulling the covers over my body with my body turned towards the closed door. "He and Light will get along so well." I mummer as I close my eyes about to go drifting off to my dreamland…. When I remember Gevanni! I thought he was fine and waited for him but he hasn't reported in! I sit up grabbing my walkie-talkie turning down the volume to not bug anyone. "Gevanni? You there?"
Static.
Light's P.O.V.
I sit at my desk staring at my cell waiting for Ryuzaki to call. I really wish he'd call! I want to hear his voice!
As soon as my cell rings I quickly grab it checking the number only to answer it quickly as I see who it is!
"Ryuzaki!" I say happily.
"Hey Light." Comes his voice I have missed oh so much. "Your dad convinced me to take a break tomorrow. How about we hang out if you're not busy."
I feel my heart skip a beat in joy and if I was a dog my whole back end would be wagging. "Yes. I actually have the day off of school that day. We can hang anytime anywhere."
"Alright then I'll contact you tomorrow and we'll go from there." He says with a small smile in his voice. "You should get some rest. It's good for your health."
I smile. "Yes that works for me and I know. You should get some rest as well."
"Yes I will don't worry." He assures me.
"Alright well I'll be waiting for your call tomorrow. You have a good night and sweet dreams." I tell him knowing I shouldn't keep him up, he needs the rest by the looks of those bags under his eyes.
"Alright and good night sweet dreams to you too." He responds.
We both hang up and I do a victory jump with a fist pump into the air.
L's P.O.V.
The whole time I had talked to Light I had stayed laying down on my back on the bed. As soon as we hang up I look to my cell smiling slightly then I put it on the nightstand.
So many people caring about me, so much more than ever before. It makes me feel good inside.
I close my eyes allowing the land of dreams to take over relaxing more and more as I fall into a deeper slumber.
Near's P.O.V.
I am laying on the bed in the room I now call my own. I shift from my back onto my side staring at the wall. 'How will round two go for him? Will he pass or will he be revealed as a liar?' I think in my head letting my thoughts swallow me up like a typhoon.
Theres a knock on the door a few minutes later that make me snap out of my thoughts.
I shift putting a hand on the bed and lifting my upper body enough to have a clear view of the door.
The door creaks open enough to let Mello slightly look inside. "Nate?"
"Come in." I shift so I am sitting on the bed with my back against the head boards.
He comes in closing the door behind himself.
We let him walk around a little making sure he wouldn't be able to contact anyone, not like he tried to do so anyways. We let him have food as well.
He comes over to the bed and sits on the edge closest to me. "I know that you guys may not fully trust me yet but…" He pauses turning to look into my eyes.
"You're a nice guy but you know that you worked for those good guys. I know you understand the caution." I state staring right back at him.
"Yes I understand completely." He nods. "I was just wondering if we could maybe…. Cuddle?"
I blink in surprise. "Cuddle?"
"Yeah. It's a little chilly tonight and I want to be able to hold you. Is that alright with you? He watches my eyes waiting for a response.
I pause a moment staring back into his eyes wondering if this is a dream. "I guess we can." I softly agree.
He smiles leaning in kissing my lips softly. "Thank you." He moves so we are laying comfortably under the covers together.
My head resting on a spot closer to the end of the bottom of the pillow making my face close to his throat. My body moved up close against his.
His head resting on a spot closer to the middle of the pillow his body moved against mine. He has his arms gently around me keeping me close and slightly more warmer.
I close my eyes and enjoy the closeness, letting everything go meaning all of my stress and such. I find myself beginning to drift off into my dreamland.
"Goodnight m lovely love." I hear Mellos soft words speak before I fall asleep.

Late…. I think. Sorry. School Band concerts and festivals then a friend from outta town is coming to see me soon.
I will work on the next chapter to the other story that is finally up on FF every chance I get. So yeah hopefully it will be ready soon.
