Here is chapter 21. I didn't have this chapter beta'd and it is very short. As always I don't own many of the characters.

The group had waited for three hours before someone came in with an update. To their surprise it wasn't a nurse that came in but Dr. Touko.

"I just went and checked on Midori," she told them. "There is good news and bad news. The bad news is that the tumor was bigger than they thought. But the good news is that they were able to remove all of it."

They were all happy that they were able to remove the entire tumor but worried about the repercussions for Midori.

"Will she be ok?" Sora's dad asked quietly.

"It may take her longer to recover but she will bake it. You have to be ready for the possibility that she may have trouble remembering things as well. We won't know how much physical damage the tumor caused until she wakes up." Dr. Touko was sure to caution them.

They nodded letting her know that they understood.

"I will return when I hear that she is out of surgery." She told them as she left.

It was a few hours later when Dr. Touko came back to tell them that Midori was being moved to the recovery ward. She also informed them that Dr. Yuuki would be in shortly with more information. When he entered the room the look on his face showed his exhaustion.

"She made it though and she should be waking soon. She may have some problems with her memory but we won't know for sure how much until she wakes up. Once she wakes up and we are able to assess what we will have to work on we will let you go in and see her for a short time."

An hour later he returned with a stoic look on his face. The group in the waiting room looked at him with worry on their faces.

"The good news," he started, "is that she hasn't lost all of her memories. The bad news is that the last thing she remembers is returning to Japan after you performed the 'Legendary Maneuver'. This, of course, means she doesn't remember Kenta. It is best that you introduce him as your son, Sora."

"Is there a chance she could regain her memories?" Sora's dad asked. "I don't want to tell her something then have her mad at us if she remembers."

"She wanted to be told that he was Sora's child. We talked about it extensively. She even signed a form verifying it. I do believe the last was for your benefit," he teased slightly. "She knows you very well, don't you think?"

"When can we see her?" Sora asked nervously. She was worrying about what her mother would say considering she is only nineteen and not married. On top of that, having a girlfriend as well. She just hoped she wouldn't kill her from the shock.

"You can go see her in a few minutes. We are just moving her to a room now." He told her reassuringly.

"Is there anything else we need to know?" Layla asked quietly.

"Not really just that you have to remember that nothing has happened, for her, in two years. She doesn't remember any of the events that may have changed her life." He reminded them again. With those cautionary words he left them to make sure Midori was settled before letting her family come in to see her.
