Another chapter
Pavel groaned as he regained conciousness, though in all honesty he would rather have remained asleep. His body, usually excited and motivated, was instead feeling painfully lethargic which made the decision to lift his head a trial in itself. Opening his eyes too created a similar trial and worst of all, once they were open, he wasn't sure they even were.
All he saw was darkness, as though he'd been engulfed. He turned his head to the left and still nothing. Lifting himself slowly onto his elbows he was able to see a crack of light coming in through a door across the darkness. This was odd, he couldn't help think.
Last he remembered he'd been walking back to campus then that familiar breeze then...nothing. Just darkness.
Had the others had time to realize his disappearance yet? How long had he even been out? Was it minutes or hours? He couldn't tell.
Wait, did he still have his comm? His hands, now having regained a semblance of strength, went towards his pant pockets. Searching around for his comm but unluckily he couldn't find what he desired.
With a groan he flopped back onto his back. He felt hopeless and all he wanted to do was call out for help. However, deep down inside he knew that whoever was on the other side of that door wasn't there to help him. So he'd like to not meet them for as long as possible, thank you.
Again he dragged himself up so that he was in a sitting position. Then he gingerly stretched his legs a few times before manoeuvring them to hang over the side of the bed. Then he pushed himself onto his feet, his hands splayed out just in case his legs were still unsteady.
Once he was standing his confidence was raised so with his hands raised in front of him. He searched the darkness for a possible switch on the wall. After a few minutes with him only tripping once or twice, he finally found what he wanted and with a moment of hesitance. He flicked the switched.
Quickly Pavel raised his arm to cover his eyes as a bright gleam of light illuminated his surroundings. Slowly Pavel lowered his arm, blinking as his vision adjusted.
He stood to the left of the door in a square room which was only about 4 metres wide. In the centre was a bed, rusted and filthy, and above it was a single light with no lampshade. The rest of the room was bare and dusty. The floors and walls looked as though they were made with solid concrete which wasn't good in any way.
And, much to Pavel's disappointment, there was no window. So any escape by any other means than the door was out of the question. The door itself looked strong but it too was aged.
He wouldn't give up trying to find a way out but his best chances of escaping now lay in the hands of his friends.
He hoped they'd be quick because to his dismay the door was beginning to be unlocked.
Sorry it's so short
