Weeks went by and soon the week of exams was here for the underclassmen. True to his word Doc Scratch helped Dave exempt his exams, leaving Dave to wander the school. Dave peeked in classrooms occasionally, and stopped at Rose's classroom to stare at her from the window. When she finally looked at him, Dave took off running down the hall skidding to a stop when he almost ran into Terezi. "Hey Terezi? Where are you off to?" He said and leaned on the lockers.

"Hey Dave, just need to go see Dr. Scratch about something." She said and held up the pass slip. "Why aren't you taking your exams?" Dave half laughed.

"The Doc and I made a deal." Dave smiled, and checked the time. "Looks like we got maybe thirty minutes left. Better hurry to Scratch, it's wrong to keep him waiting." Terezi grinned wide, and started walking down the hall, but turned to look in Dave's direction.

"Thanks for dinner the other night." She said loud enough for him to hear, and went on to the office. Dave smirked to himself, and went back to wandering the halls. He felt someone grab his shoulder, and push him into the bathroom. Dave turned to see Karkat looking him in the shades. "Ok, you piece of shit listen up. I know what you're planning; you want to date John just so you can break his heart. I can't allow you to hurt my love like that!"

Dave simply stared and placed to finger gently against Karkat's forehead and pushed him back. "Dude, you really need to learn to let go. Besides why would I ever want to date my best bro?" Karkat started fuming, and Dave smirked and left. "Besides he's already taken, might want to go talk to his girlfriend." Dave kept walking until he heard the bell ring and went towards John's class. He searched far and wide for that dopey grin, when he saw it waving him down. "Well someone looks happy."

"Yea dude, I not only passed but Vriska is gonna be coming over our house for Christmas. This is so great!" John smiled and stretched cracking his neck. "Man though I'm sore."

"Tends to happen to the best of us. Ready to brave this snow storm that is coming?"

"What snow storm?"

"The one that is blowing its white fluffy load all over the area? Man John I didn't think that you were that thick."

"Shut up!" John playfully punched his friend's shoulder, and they walked to the front of the building to see snow blowing down harder every second. "Ok, so I am gonna stay at your house until this stops then." Dave shrugged.

"Ok, Bro doesn't care he thinks you are a good influence on me. As if you could influence me." Dave smiled and pulled on a woolen hat. John pulled up the hood of his hoodie and they nodded to each other and made a mad dash for Dave's apartment. When they got to the lobby they were covered in snow and Bro was walking down the stairs.

"You guys look like hell, by the way little man I am gonna be back later ok?"

"Sure…" Dave heaved out of breath, and both him and John walked upstairs and into the apartment. Dave tossed John a water bottle, and grabbed himself and apple juice.

"Thanks, I hope this stop soon. I need to go help dad prep the guest rooms." John said and looked out the window.

"Rooms, as in multiple?" Dave said and turned on the TV.

"Yea, my cousins are flying in for the break, and Vriska might stay the night." John flipped through the channels. "I think Bro would get along well with Jake."

"Jake, Jake English?"

"Yea, why?"

"Nothing, I just think they will definitely get along." Dave smirked and the two of them went into a silence for a little bit.

"Where did Bro run off to anyway?"

"Oh D is going on his own Christmas vacation."

"Where?"

"Las Vegas. Before you say it, don't ask for an explanation because I never get decent one myself." John nodded and went back to watching the TV checking the weather outside occasionally. The storm hadn't started letting up, so he called his dad and let him know that he'd be staying the night. Dave put his fist in the air which John bumped. After Dave let Bro know, they ordered Chinese and put on a movie they both found equally shitty.
