21. Chapter 21

No Ordinary Love

Author's Note: What's UP Everyone Sorry for the wait on this chapter being so long. Once again I had some trouble with saving my chapter and it got corrupted so I had to start writing the whole thing all over again. UGH I'm still ticked off about that! Anyways after that I took a little break from writing but now I'm working on getting back into the swing of writing again. Chapter 21

Harbor View Towers - Hallway between Penthouse 4 & 2

It has been almost twenty minutes since Jason and Carly left in the elevator. Max and Johnny did not accompany them since Jason told them that he would be driving Carly in one of the extra cars himself. Max and Johnny knew that since Carly was with Jason that she would be more than safe so they didn't question or insist on going with them.

As they stand at the doors of the two penthouses, Max at penthouse 4 and Johnny at penthouse 2, they began to get bored. Max suggested that they pass the time by playing cards and Johnny agreed. Max called down to have one of the other guys bring up a small card table, chairs and a deck of cards for them. While Max was on the phone, Johnny began to get a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach…he looks over to the door of penthouse 4 with a slight frown. He didn't know why but his gut was telling him something was off…something was wrong but he didn't know what. All he knew was that something just didn't seem right…

"Francis is on his way up…" Max tells Johnny as he ends the call then puts his cell into the breast pocket of his suit jacket

Max looks at Johnny when he didn't reply and sees that he is just staring over to the penthouse 4 doorway with an odd look on his face.

"Johnny" Max says his name trying to get his attention "Johnny…hey John." still nothing "Earth to Johnny" Max says while waving a hand in front of him

Finally realizing Max was calling his name Johnny snaps out of it and answers "Yeah"

"Something wrong? You were spaced out there for a minute and you had kind of a weird look on your face." Max replies and then asks "Hey…you okay?"

"I'm fine"

"Then what's wrong?"

"I don't know…something just seems off to me." Johnny tells him

"Something like what?" Max asks

"Tell me something…did it seem odd to you how Carly was acting when the delivery men showed up with the boxes she said were baby things for the nursery?"

"Odd like how this is Carly we're talking about here…"

"Yeah but…" Johnny exhales a breath before saying "I'm just thinking about how she didn't want us to help her unpack the boxes or take the baby stuff upstairs for her." he pauses for a second then just as quickly goes on saying "And then how about when she came to the door and asked us to take the boxes down to the dumpster but she didn't want us coming inside to get them…no instead she insists on us backing away from the door while she passes the boxes out to us."

"She explained that remember…she said she didn't want us to see the baby stuff before the boss since he is the baby's father and he should be the first to see it."

"Okay but did you notice that all identifying marks on the boxes were stripped off; she didn't even want us looking on the boxes to see where they came from or what was inside."

"Again she didn't want us to know or see the stuff before the boss…" Max repeats with a shrug of his shoulders

"Yeah but…something tells me that there is more to it. I don't know why but I'm getting a bad feeling about all of this. I think we should go inside and see exactly what it was Carly ordered and had delivered."

"Are you out of your mind? If Carly finds out we went in there and looked at the baby stuff when we promised her we wouldn't. She'll kill us."

"How is she gonna know? You're not gonna tell her. I'm not gonna tell her so…I don't see why we can't go inside and have a little peek." Johnny replies

"You really think Carly won't know that we went inside after we promised we wouldn't? She'll be able to look at us and tell that we did."

"Correction she can look at you and tell because you're like putty in her hands she's practically got you wrapped around her pinky finger."

"And like you aren't…"

"Yeah well…maybe so but you always cave before me. I at least can hold out longer than you."

"Yeah but the end result is still the same and that's you giving in and agreeing to whatever Carly wants. Just like when she got us to agree to help her sneak junk food behind the Boss's back." Max points out

"Don't remind me. I'm still having nightmares about the boss finding out about that." Johnny quickly replies "Look just to ease my peace of mind I think we should take a look and if everything is on the up and up then we'll leave out and Carly never has to know."

"I don't get what it is you think we're gonna find. It's just baby stuff. Stuff for the nursery that's all."

"Okay will you just think about it for a minute; Carly has been against living here with the boss since day one when he had us pack her things and move her back into the penthouse. So why now when she's been so against living here would she all of a sudden want to decorate the nursery?"

"True…but…Carly and the boss have been making progress lately. They've been spending a lot of time together and it almost seems like old times before they broke up. I mean yeah they still argue but not as much as they did when he had us bring her stuff back for her to move in."

"Yeah but she still hasn't changed her mind about wanting to live here. I don't know I just get a bad feeling that something is off with her buying baby stuff all of a sudden. What if she didn't really buy baby stuff and whatever she really did buy is to piss off the boss and get him to let her leave and move back into her condo? Now that sounds more like something Carly would do than giving in to living here when she doesn't want to and decorating the nursery doesn't it?"

"Well when you put it that way yeah…" Max replies but then says "But we promised her that we wouldn't go in. She'll be pissed at us if we did…"

"Tell me Max who would you rather have pissed at us? Carly or the Boss?"

Not even taking a second to think about it, Max replies "Well what are we waiting for lets go inside?"

Just as Max and Johnny we at the door getting ready to open it they are startled by the sound of the elevator doors opening. As they quickly turn around and stand stiff as boards while both hoping like hell they weren't about to get caught by Carly or worse Sonny. Fortunately it wasn't either and they both exhale a breath of relief when they see that it's just Francis.

Francis looks at them with a slight frown "You two look like you just saw a ghost or something. What's going on?" he asks while keeping his hand between the door so it wouldn't close

"Nothing everything's fine…" Max quickly answers

"Ooookay…" Francis replies and then says "Well I brought up the card table and chairs you asked for. You two wanna give me a hand here…"

"You know what that's okay we changed our mind we're not gonna play card after all." Johnny tells him

Max adds in "Yeah you can go ahead and take them back down with you."

"What? Wait a minute you mean to tell me you two had me bring this table and chairs all the way up here for nothing? What gives why'd you change your mind all of a sudden? I thought you were both bored and wanted to pass the time playing cards."

"Yeah well we changed or minds is that a crime…" Max snaps with a shrug of his shoulders. He too was now starting to get a bad feeling in his gut about what Carly had delivered…well that is now that Johnny put the idea in his head.

"What Max means to say is that we thought better of it that's all. We don't want the boss coming home and catch us playing cards on the job." Johnny comes up with a quick excuse to get Francis from asking any more questions

"You weren't worried about that before…" Francis replies

"What's with the twenty questions Francis we said we don't need the stuff anymore so just drop it already…" Max tells him

"Fine whatever…you two are acting weird." Francis replies and then gets back onto the elevator and presses the button to close the door

Once the elevator doors closed, Max says "That was close"

"Too close and you almost blew it…" Johnny points out to him

"How did I almost blow it?"

"The way you were acting it only made him ask more questions…"

"Whatever he's gone now and it's a good thing too because if Carly did pull a fast one on us again and the guys find out we'll never live it down. And besides Francis has a big mouth which is why I was trying to get him to shut up and leave." Max snaps back

"Forget about Francis and the other guys they wouldn't last a day on full time Carly duty." Johnny replies and then says "Come on lets go check out what's inside that she didn't want us to see."

Max nods and then turns and walks to the door with Johnny right behind him. As Max opens the door he stops short when he sees the newly redecorated living room…his eyes open wide and mouth drops open in shock and complete horror.

"Oh…My…God." Max says finally finding his voice as he stands in the doorway blocking Johnny's view

"What? What is it?" Johnny asks impatiently and then says "Get out of the way…" he pushes Max inside and walks past him. His eyes open wide finally seeing exactly what Carly didn't want them to see "What the hell?" he looks around the room in shock and horror as well

"You were right…" Max admits as he stands completely still and his heart practically beats out of his chest "I should have listened to you when you first said it."

"Believe me I didn't want to be…" Johnny replies and then say while looking around the room "This place looks like a cross between an exploded Pepto-Bismol factory and a ten year old girl's Barbie fantasy."

"We are soooooooo screwed…" Max says while slowly shaking his head; he looks over to Johnny and says "You know that right? We're screwed!"

"No…not screwed. We're Dead that's what we are…especially if we don't get this place back to normal before the boss gets back!"

Max looks over to the terrace and sees the Barbie curtains "She even took down the drapes and replaced them with those god-awful pink Barbie ones…"

"For goodness sakes how in the world did she manage to get up high enough to switch them out?" Johnny says as he walks over to the terrace looking at the Barbie curtains that replaced the long maroon colored drapes

"I don't even want to think about how she did it but however she did I'm just glad she managed not to fall in the process." Max replies and then walks over to the desk by the door and sees the phone was evens witched out to a pink phone with Barbie stickers all over it and there was also a Barbie Dream Car sitting next to it. "She switched out the phone too…can you believe she did this?"

"Yeah I can believe it. Carly wants out of here and this is her way to force the Boss's hand to let her leave." Johnny replies

Looking down on the ground in the corner, Johnny sees a wadded up ball of cloth and fears for the worse as he goes over and picks it up. Yes it was just as he expected…it was the maroon colored drapes balled up.

Picking up the balled up drapes Johnny says "Look at this…"

"Are those the drapes?" Max asks while quickly over to Johnny holding up the wrinkled up ball of drapes

"Yeah"

"The boss is gonna shit a brick look at the wrinkles! Oh God we're dead we're so dead. John I say lets get the hell out of here and hop the next plane to Tijuana before the boss gets home and caps us himself!" Max starts to head towards the door

Johnny hurries and catches up to him before he reaches the door "What are you crazy or something? Besides he'll find us we'll never be able out run him…no what we're gonna do is like I said and fix this place back to normal before the Boss gets back. We'll get rid of all this stuff and it will be as good as new."

"You think we have enough time for that? The Boss could walk through that door any minute now!"

"Which is why we have to hurry; now shut up and lets get to work…"

Johnny and Max work like mad men taking down and getting rid of all of the pink and Barbie décor until they finally had the place looking normal again. However what they didn't know was that the living room wasn't the only room Carly redecorated; neither thought to check upstairs in Sonny's bedroom. Needless to say Max and Johnny thought they were in the clear but oh how wrong they were…

The Brownstone

"Okay, okay I'm coming hold your…" Carly stops mid sentence when she opens the door and sees exactly who was there… "Sonny" she says with a shocked look of her eyes opening wide and mouth slightly parted as she stares straight at him

Carly couldn't believe Sonny was standing there in front of her. How did he find out she was here? Jason couldn't have told him because he didn't know until the last minute before they left; and she's been with him every second after that and he didn't make any calls.

Sonny stands with a little smirk as he enjoys the look of shocked surprise on her face. She looked as if she'd just seen a ghost. Carly's heart began to pound as she silently stood just staring at him look her up and down.

"Wh…what are you doing here?" Carly asks once she finally finds her voice again

"I uh…I heard there was a dinner party in your honor here tonight." Sonny replies and then flashes her a dimpled smile

"H…how did you…" Carly starts to speak but stops not finishing her sentence

"Doesn't matter I'm here now…" Sonny says still enjoying the shock on her face "Oh and it was nice of you to invite me by the way." he tells her letting her know without saying the words that he wasn't happy about her not inviting him

Carly was still in shock not knowing what to say as she was inwardly trying to figure out just how the hell he found out about the dinner party.

"So…you gonna let me in or what?" Sonny asks as he flashes his dimples while awaiting her answer.

When Carly doesn't say anything and just stands there staring at him, Sonny steps forward as if to walk past her but he doesn't get far. Carly finally snaps out of her daze as she quickly places a hand onto Sonny's chest and gives him a push back stopping him from coming inside.

"Where do you think you're going?" Carly asks

"Uhhh…inside where else would I be going?" Sonny replies

"You're not coming inside Sonny. You weren't invited and I still haven't heard how you even knew I was here."

"You mean how did I find out Bobbie was throwing you a welcome to the Spencer family dinner instead of you going out with Jason to eat Chinese food?"

"Yeah exactly so why don't you fill me in…"

"You first" Sonny replies then says "Why the lie why didn't you just tell me you were coming here instead of coming up with some fake story about wanting to spend what did you call it…" he pauses for a second then says "Quality alone best friend time with Jason? Did you think I wouldn't let you go?"

"No…" Carly replies and then pauses for a moment before saying "I…I just didn't want you to come. I wanted one night away from you where you weren't policing everything I eat. You do enough of that at home I didn't want to have to go through the evening with you hovering over me."

"I don't hover…" Sonny quickly replies

"When it comes to what I eat you do…"

"That's only because if I didn't you would eat only junk and it's not good for you or the baby."

"Well you don't have to worry about me and the baby we are fine. Jason is here to look out for us."

"Jason…" Sonny replies with a twinge of jealousy in his eyes and tone of voice

"And besides don't you want to go home after a long day of grinding coffee beans?" Carly asks while trying to hold back a grin since she knows what's waiting for him back home at the penthouse. It was obvious he hadn't been home yet since if he did they'd be having a totally different conversation right now. "You have the place to yourself you can cook all the healthy crap you like to eat and enjoy it in peace without any arguments from me because I won't be there."

"So you're saying I should be happy you lied to me about your quality best friend dinner with Jason so that I can spend the evening alone and cook all the stuff you hate so I can eat by myself?"

"Yeah…and technically I didn't lie because Jason and I are having dinner together we just aren't eating Chinese food…" Carly quickly adds trying to spin an excuse

"You know what…" Sonny says as he holds up a hand cutting her off from making up more excuses "It's over what's done is done I don't want to argue. It's a special night for you being welcomed into the Spencer family."

"Thanks"

"I'm glad you and Bobbie are working things out…"

"Yeah…me too; I mean I'm not calling her mom or anything but we're slowly working our way there."

"That's good…I'm happy for you."

Carly doesn't respond she just stays quiet as a slight crooked smile hints at the corner of her mouth.

"You know considering how much you hated Bobbie in the beginning and now you two are working through your problems and becoming close as mother and daughter…" Sonny starts to say then pauses for a moment but then slowly continues on trying to find his words "I uh…I can't help but think that one day…that uh…that one day we might be able to work through you know…everything and be a…you know…a family." he pauses for a moment then quickly adds in "I mean for our baby's sake."

As she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, Carly clears her throat a little as she replies "We are family Sonny…we always will be our baby will connect us together forever…"

"As parents…"

"Yeah…what other reason would there be?" Carly asks as she fidgets by pulling up the strap of her purse on her shoulder

"I dunno uh…I was kinda thinking that kiss we shared this morning might suggest another reason."

In that quick second Carly gets a flash of the kiss they shared this morning…

Flashback

"How long are we going to dance this dance Carly? I know you feel the pull between us?" Sonny stands dangerously close in her personal space as he has her trapped "Even though you want to deny it you know it's still there." he places his hands onto her hips and pulls her body to him so she's pressed against him

Shaking her head no "We can't, we can't do this…" Carly says in a whisper as his lips inch closer to hers

"Too late we're already doing it…" Sonny whispers against her mouth and then captures her lips in a deliberately slow and passionate kiss.

Carly couldn't help but melt into him; she unconsciously wraps her arms around him as she gives completely into the kiss. It felt so good…so passionate…so fiery…so drugging…so right. A moan of pleasure escapes her as their tongues mate neither able to get enough as the kiss slowly became more hungry and their hands began to roam each other's bodies as they became lost in each other.

End Flashback

Coming out of her thoughts, Carly quickly denies as she crosses her arms "Well you'd be wrong." she couldn't go there with him again after he ripped her heart out before. She was the one thinking they were in a real relationship but for him it wasn't real. No way would she put herself or her unborn child through that again. And besides the only reason he is remotely interested in her again is because of the baby…well that is what she tells and makes herself believe. "Besides that kiss was a mistake. It shouldn't have happened and for that matter it will never happen again."

"I'm not so sure about that…" Sonny replies in a low tone as he stares into her eyes

"Why are we even talking about this? I thought we settled all of this this morning Sonny." Carly quickly replies and then whispers making sure no one overhears "We will be parents to this baby and nothing more." she exhales a breath then says "I am not your obligation…Sonny. You are free to be with whoever you want just not me…remember this is the way you wanted it."

A moment of awkward silence passes between them and then there is a rumble of thunder that catches both of their attention. Sonny looks over his shoulder and sees that it's starting to rain…

"Sounds like thunder…" Carly says breaking the silence between them

"Yeah" Sonny replies as he looks back at Carly and then says "So are you gonna just let me stand out here in the rain or are you gonna invite me in?" he didn't want to go home so he decided to use the upcoming rain to get her to invite him to stay.

"It's not raining…" Carly replies with a slight shake of her head

Sonny gives her a you're kidding look as he says "Oh yeah then what do you call that wet stuff that's falling out of the sky behind me." he makes another quick glance over his shoulder at the rain that was just starting.

"It's just a little drizzle you can make it back to your car just fine…"

Not a second later was there another clap of thunder and the light rain that started before was now coming down harder and harder.

With a little smirk, Sonny makes a slight turn to the side as he stretches out an arm towards the pouring rain as he says "You call that a little drizzle?"

"Well it was a little drizzle at first…"

"Clearly it's not anymore so step aside and let me in…"

"You're not invited" Carly tells him as she once again places a hand to his chest stopping him once he takes a step forward

"Come onnn you're not really gonna let me stand out here in the rain and catch my death of cold are ya?"

"I hardly think you'd catch a cold by a couple of raindrops. All you have to do is make a run for it and you'll be just fine. A little wet but fine nonetheless…"

"Are you kidding me it's raining elephants out here…" Sonny replies and then says with a pleading look "And besides I'm sooo hungry. I haven't eaten all day since breakfast this morning with you. Who knows I may faint from hunger while trying to make it back to the car. You wouldn't want me to pass out in the rain or slip and break my leg or anything just because you're too stubborn to invite me inside."

"You're laying the guilt trip on pretty thick don't you think?" Carly shakes her head at him with a little chuckle

"Is it working?" Sonny flashes his dimples with a little grin

"Ugh! Get inside before I change my mind." Carly snaps out as she grabs a hold of his suit jacket and pulls him inside out of the rain.

"Thanks for letting me stay…"

"Don't make me regret it." Carly replies and then adds "So are you sure Mr. Master Chef is gonna be okay with someone else doing all the cooking."

"I have no problem with Bobbie's cooking it's her daughter's cooking that scares me." Sonny jokes

Carly swats his shoulder as she playfully says "Shut up."

Now in the foyer they stand for a moment in silence just looking at each other neither knowing what to say next until Sonny finally breaks the ice as he says in a lowered tone "So are you feeling any better? I mean because earlier today you got nauseous when we were leaving the doctor's office."

"It's called morning sickness and yeah I'm fine…" Carly places her hand on her stomach giving it a gentle rub and says with a soft smile "We're fine."

Glancing down to her hand on her stomach, Sonny with a hint of his dimples making an appearance "It's hard to believe there's a little person inside there growing more and more each day."

"Yeah well you can say that now because I'm not showing since it's still too early but just wait until I do. I've been reading a lot of pregnancy magazines and books for new moms and let me tell you I am not looking forward to gaining an extra 25 to 35 pounds. I'll be as huge as a house."

"Yeeah but a very beautiful house…" Sonny replies flashing his dimples at her…

Carly nibble on her bottom lip then clears her throat making herself snap out of it as she inwardly tells herself not to get caught up in the little flirtation game they play.

"You know we should probably get in there…" Carly tells him while making a quick look over her shoulder "Bobbie is probably wondering what's taking me so long."

"Yeah, yeah you're right we should but just one second…" Sonny replies and then slowly reaches out his hand to touch her stomach "May I?"

"Do you think that's such a good idea? I mean here and now? We are trying to keep our little one a secret right now are we not?"

"No one is around its just you and me here…" Sonny quickly adds in and then says "Just for a second I promise."

Exhaling a breath, Carly nods then softly says "Okay."

With a slight smile Sonny once again glances down to her stomach as he reaches out a hand placing it over their baby; looking up he sees Carly's eyes close at the touch of his hand on her stomach. Not a second later did he look over to the door seeing that someone was about to come inside so he quickly places his hands onto Carly's hips and pulls her close and captures her lips into a searing kiss.

Sonny couldn't allow whoever was coming inside to figure out their baby secret since he was standing there with his hand on Carly's stomach…what else was he suppose to do. Actually the door opening was just the excuse he needed for kissing her but whether the door opened or not it's what he wanted to do.

At first Carly tries to resist; her head was screaming for her to push Sonny away but it wasn't long before she finds herself returning the kiss. When the door fully opens and Marcus Taggert walks inside he stands there with a disgusted glare on his face at sight of Sonny and Carly sucking face.

Finally having enough of them not noticing he was standing there, Taggert loudly clears his throat as he says "Get a room why don't you!" he closes the door behind him with one hand while the other holds a bag of takeout from Kelly's.

Interrupted by Taggert, Sonny and Carly pull apart and both look annoyingly over to the bald headed cop. Suddenly it was at that moment Carly realized the reason why Sonny pulled her into that kiss so abruptly…he didn't want Taggert to catch him touching her stomach and figuring out she was pregnant. The realization of why Sonny kissed her made Carly a little disappointed even though she knew they shouldn't be kissing and plus she had told him the kiss they shared this morning was a mistake and would never happen again.

"You know Taggert after all these years of knowing you I didn't take you for a Peeping Tom."

"Hey unlike the two of you I live here. I was on my way up to my apartment when I came in and saw you two sucking face. Last I heard you were back living together so why are you using my apartment building for a make-out spot."

At that moment Luke comes barging in through the living room looking for Carly since she had yet to come back after answering the door "What the hell is taking so long? We got a lot of hungry guest waiting Caroline and my poor stomach is about to say the hell with it and start without ya!" he stops when he sees Carly standing next to Sonny and then he looks over and sees Taggert there was well "Uh look officer Tags…"

"Lieutenant Taggert…" Taggert says correcting him

"Who the hell cares…" Luke grumbles back then says "Look whatever you're here to accuse Corinthos of is gonna have to wait we got a dinner to get to."

"I'm not here accusing Sonny of anything not that there isn't plenty to accuse him of that he won't use his high priced lawyer to get him out of. I was just on my way up to my apartment when I came in and caught these two in the act."

"In the act of what?" Luke asks

Carly quickly interrupts saying "None of your business…" she looks over to Taggert and says "Don't let us keep you from your dinner plans…" she glances to his takeout bag in his hand

Taggert just rolls his eyes as he heads up the stairs to his apartment…

Once Taggert was out of sight, Luke says "Okay baldy locks is gone now lets get a move on my stomach is growling and if we don't get back soon Barbra Jean is gonna send out a search party for us all."

Just as Luke is about to turn around, Carly folds her arms across her chest as she says "Wait just one minute. Just one quick question first before we go."

Exhaling a sigh, Luke asks "What is it spit it out already…"

"Why weren't you surprised to see Sonny here when you came looking for me?"

Uh oh, it looks like Carly figured out it was Luke that told Sonny about the dinner party tonight. Luke looks over to Sonny who wasn't trying to help him out as he just stands there not saying a word…

Clearing his throat, Luke says "I don't know what you're talking about I just assumed your baby daddy was your date for the night."

"Don't even try to fool me because I can see right through you. You were the one that told Sonny weren't you? You told him about the family dinner party didn't you?"

"Uh I think I hear Barbra Jean calling my name…" Luke makes up an excuse to get out of the room and away from Carly as he slowly backs up away from her

"I'm gonna kill you!"

Luke takes off practically running…

"You better run!" Carly calls out to him. She turns back to look at Sonny and says "I'm right aren't I? It was Luke that told you about the dinner party here tonight didn't he?"

Sonny smirks and doesn't try to deny it from her any longer "Okay yeah it was Luke. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here and I'm glad he told me."

"Well you may be glad but Luke certainly won't be when I get through with him." Carly replies as she tugs her purse strap over her shoulder again

"Oh come on leave the guy alone it was an honest mistake. Luke thought I was coming tonight and he mentioned it when he was on his way over earlier. Obviously you must not have told him I wasn't on the invite list so if you think about it it's your fault he slipped up and told me not his." Sonny holds up his hand stopping her from interrupting and quickly adds "And you know what I'm thinking that maybe on some level you wanted me to find out and that's why you didn't mention not inviting me to Luke."

"You keep telling yourself that and you know what you'd be wrong…"

"I think the lady protests too much…" Sonny says with a dimpled grin

"I think you need to shut up and lets go to dinner before I change my mind and kick your ass back out into the rain." Carly snaps back and then quickly turns and walks away from him and towards the dining room

Sonny grins as he follows behind her…

As Carly walks into the dining room, Bobbie says "Well I'm glad you finally joined us. I was beginning to wonder if something happened and you left."

"No, no everything is fine. Sorry that took so long but I kind of got an unexpected surprise when I answered the door." Carly replies

"Oh? What kind of surprise?" Bobbie asks curious to what Carly meant

Just then Sonny comes walking up behind Carly and then goes to stand next to her.

"Sonny…" Bobbie says more than surprised since she thought Carly didn't want him to come "You're here…" she looks at Carly with a questioning look

"Hello Bobbie. I hope you don't mind me joining in on the festivities at the last minute…"

"Corinthos? What are you doing here?" Mac asks wondering just what the hell was going on. Looking over to Luke he asks "Did you invite him?"

"Mac…" Felecia says in a warning tone to Mac

"I'm sorry it's just…" Mac pauses for a moment "I was under the impression all the invited guest were already here."

Carly quickly replies "Sonny is my guest…I invited him." she says giving Mac a look not to test her. She then looks to Bobbie and says "I'm sorry it was a last minute decision…do you mind?"

"No, no of course I don't mind the more the merrier…" Bobbie replies and then looks to Luke and says "Big brother why don't you make yourself useful and go get an extra chair from the kitchen for Sonny to join us."

"Whoa, what a minute hold up Barbra Jean but since when did I become your Mr. Belvedere?! First it was go see what's keeping Carly and now it's go get Michael Corleone a chair from the kitchen…"

"Luke!" Bobbie gives him a stern look telling him to shut up and go do what she asked

"Fine!" Luke stomps off to get the chair

Carly turns to look at Sonny with a look telling him to behave as she puts on a fake smile while speaking to him through gritted teeth in a low tone… "Behave yourself and don't push it with the commish over there. Between him and Taggert they are both just itching for anything to haul you away in handcuffs."

A little dimpled grin appears across Sonny's face hearing what she said. Sonny decides to put on a good show as he leans into whisper into Carly's ear while placing his hands onto her hips pulling her close into his personal space…

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you were worried about me. Don't worry I don't plan on going to jail tonight…" leaning back from her ear, Sonny stares into her eyes as she stares back at him.

No there were plenty of other things he had in mind for the evening that didn't involve jail but did involve her. Sonny was planning on putting the charm on full blast tonight when they get home and hopefully she wouldn't be able to resist. She was able to rebuff him this morning when they kissed but he was determined not to let her turn him away.

Carly felt the spark she always felt when they were this close…her lips slightly parted as she intakes a small breath before exhaling. She nervously began nibbling on her bottom lip as they stayed staring into each other's eyes. Sonny could tell he was starting to get to her again and that suited him just fine…

Bobbie couldn't help but grin at her daughter and Sonny as they stood neither saying a word just staring at each other. She knew it was just a matter of time before Carly and Sonny were a couple again despite what Carly told her earlier of not ever taking Sonny back. All Bobbie wanted for her daughter was for her to be happy and if being with Sonny made her happy then she was okay with them being together. However she would make sure to give Sonny her Mamma Bear warning to keep her daughter and her grandbaby safe or else he would have to answer to her!

All of the other guests sitting at the table sat watching Sonny and Carly. It was obvious to them that these two were infatuated with each other…they each started whispering to each other about the two.

Felecia leans close to Mac and whispers "It seems as though Sonny has gotten over Brenda that's for sure. Look at him he's practically undressing Carly with his eyes."

"Carly said she invited Sonny. Why would she invite anyone here tonight since this is Bobbie's dinner party not hers." Mac completely ignores what Felecia said since he was more focused on why Sonny was here

"I don't know he's probably Carly's date…" Felecia replies "Oh and remember Carly did say she was the guest of honor whatever that means."

"I thought Sonny's hired gun Jason over there was her date since they came together."

"Well it seems as though plans have changed. Jason has hardly said a word since he's got here and the unspoken words between Sonny and Carly are speaking volumes." Felecia says with a slight grin as she watches Sonny and Carly.

Mac looks at Felecia as he whispers "You seem a lot interested in those two over there. I thought you of all people wouldn't be a Carly fan."

"Why would you say that I hardly know the woman?"

"She's the reason your best friend Bobbie's marriage ended; and Tony is your ex brother-in-law."

"Yes Tony and Frisco are brothers and I will always consider Tony family but from what Bobbie has told me of the whole situation that happened with Carly and Tony the whole fault lies with Tony. Carly was innocent he was the one that came on to her and then lied about it making it seem like it was the other way around."

"Maybe so but something in my gut tells me there is more to the story and over the years I've learned to listen to my gut."

"Okay you need to take off the Commissioner Hat and stop being so suspicious." Felecia tells him

"Fine I'll drop it. It's just weird as Commissioner being at a dinner party and sitting across from a Mob Boss and his Enforcer…" Mac replies, pauses for a second and then adds "Two of the city's most notorious mobsters…"

"Yes you're right it may be weird but you Mac Scorpio are gonna behave do you hear me."

"You know Sorel is missing and I have no doubt Sonny and Jason have something to do what that."

"Mac please you promised you'd drop it…"

"I said I'd drop the subject of what happened with Carly and Tony I didn't say anything about Corinthos and Morgan."

"You need to drop all of it…" Felecia tells him then says "And besides Bobbie seems okay with both Sonny and Jason being here so don't cause trouble where there isn't any."

"Okay for Bobbie I will be on my best behavior…"

"Thank you" Felecia says before placing a soft quick kiss onto his lips

Elizabeth leans into Lucky and whispers "Well Sonny's taste in women sure has dwindled since he and Brenda broke up."

"Why do you say that?" Lucky asks

"Come on Sonny could definitely do better. In fact I think he should go find Brenda and fix what went wrong between them."

"Wow you really got a hate on for Carly. Why is that? You hardly know her." Lucky replies

"The couple of times I've seen her at Kelly's she wasn't very nice to me and besides I've heard enough from both Robin and Brenda about Carly so believe me when I say Sonny could do a lot better."

"Well it's none of our business who Sonny decides to be with and as for what Robin and Brenda said about Carly of course anything they say would be negative since Sonny broke up with Brenda for wearing the wire. Besides I happen to think this Carly could be a nice change for Sonny and plus she's not bad on the eyes."

"What?!" Liz gives him a what did you just say look

"Relax she's into Sonny and besides I only have eyes for you…"

"You better…" Liz replies with a half-smile before Lucky places a soft kiss onto her lips

Finally Carly snaps out of her and Sonny's staring contest and clears her throat as she lowers his hands off of her while inwardly telling herself not to let Sonny get to her. Just then Luke comes walking into the room with the extra chair Bobbie asked him to get.

"Okay Corinthos here's your chair!" Luke grumbles out as he places the chair down and then walks over to sit in his own chair next to his wife Laura "Now can we get this show on the road? I'm starvin here!

Bobbie just shakes her head at Luke for plopping the chair down and not bringing it to the table… "Sonny why don't you just place your chair next to Carly there is plenty of room and I'll make another place setting for you."

"Thanks Bobbie" Sonny replies as he leaves Carly's side and goes to get the chair

Carly lightly nibbles at her bottom lip as she watches Sonny walk away from her to get the chair and then she just as quickly snaps herself out of it while inwardly scolding herself to get it together. It was too late to kick Sonny out now she would have to go through with him being here tonight. She hurriedly walks over to the table and sits down…Jason was sitting on one side of her and now Sonny would be sitting on the other. She lowers the strap of her purse off her shoulder and hangs it on the side of her chair.

Leaning into Jason as she sits, Carly whispers to him "I should have made Sonny leave the second I saw it was him at the door." she glances over and sees Sonny walking towards her holding the chair

"Why didn't you?" Jason whispers back

"It started raining and he started to put on a guilt trip about me turning him away in the rain and some other crap. I had a weak moment and he took advantage of it."

"Yeah sure whatever you say…" Jason replies with a slight smirk

"What's that supposed to mean?" Carly asks

"Nothing…just maybe you're not as disappointed to have Sonny here as you let on."

"I don't want him here I didn't tell him Luke did and just you wait until I get my hands on Luke for blabbing to Sonny. If it wasn't for him Sonny wouldn't know anything about us coming here tonight."

Sonny sits his chair next to Carly and places his hand on top of hers which makes Carly turn to look at him and immediately sees smiling dimples which made her heart skip a beat. Of course she would never tell Sonny that his smiling dimples were getting to her; no she'd never hear the end of it. It's these damn pregnancy hormones! That's what it is! Well at least that's what she tells herself…

"I know what you think you're doing and trust me it's not gonna happen so you can just put those dimples away." Carly whispers to Sonny with a knowing look

With a little chuckle, Sonny asks "What am I doing?"

"You know what you're doing. You're trying to be all charming and irresistible flashing your dimples and you're thinking in your head you're getting to me well you're not so you can just stop." Carly replies in a soft whisper so only he could hear

"Rrrrrreally…" Sonny softly says with a smirk and then adds in "Well uh judging by your reaction I kinda think I am…" Sonny grins as his dimples deepen

As Luke sat in his chair, Laura leans into him and whispers "Well it certainly seems like you were right about Sonny. By the looks of it he's got it bad for this one." she glances down the table to Sonny flashing his dimples at Carly. "Which is odd since she's a blond and all the women I've known Sonny to be with over the years have been dark haired beauties." Laura whispers to Luke

"Yeah but it makes no difference when the lights are out…" Luke replies then says "Besides when a Spencer gets a hold of ya there's no turning back so that means the poor smuck is a goner."

Laura looks at Luke and asks "What's that supposed to mean?"

Luke cold kick himself as he realizes that he inadvertently let the cat out of the bag "Me and my big mouth…" he mumbles and Laura gives him a stern look silently telling him he better tell her the truth and right now. In a lowered tone he says "Don't give me that look. I know what you're thinking and no she's not my kid she's Bobbie's."

Shocked, Laura whispers "Bobbie has another daughter?"

"Shhh if Bobbie finds out I told you before she tells everyone here tonight she'll kill me. And yes Carly is Bobbie's daughter which is the reason she threw this dinner party tonight so she could tell everyone and welcome Carly into the family."

"Now everything makes sense. You told me for some reason Bobbie felt connected to Carly. This is it…The reason why Bobbie has always felt a close connection to Carly was because she's Bobbie's long lost daughter she gave up all those years ago."

"Yeah now keep it quiet and don't let on to Bobbie that I let the cat out of the bag before she tells everyone here tonight. Bobbie may look small but she can scrap with the best of them and I don't wanna be caught on her bad side when it comes to this."

"Don't worry your secret is safe with me I'll protect you from Big Bad Bobbie…your baby sister." Laura jokes with a smirk

"Well it certainly seems like we're in for an interesting evening tonight. Not only do we have the police commissioner here but also a mob boss and his enforcer to boot." Gia whispers to Nikolas "And then there is this Carly person. I've never met her before but judging from Elizabeth's earlier comment when Carly first arrived they aren't exactly besties. I get Mac's deal with Sonny and Jason being here but just what exactly is little Lizzie's beef with Carly?"

"I wouldn't know. Like you I've never met Carly before tonight but I'm sure once this evening is over we'll have a more clear picture of everything especially once Bobbie makes her announcement of why she invited us all her tonight."

Standing at the head of the table, Bobbie clears her throat to get everyone's attention "Good evening everyone may I please have your attention."

Everyone stops talking and looks up at Bobbie in silence as she continues to speak…

"Okay well first of all I want to thank everyone for coming tonight. It really means a lot to me because tonight is a very special night. One that I never thought could possibly happen before…"

Bobbie smiles brightly as she looks down over all of her friends and family. She looks over to Carly and her heart immediately bursts with love for her daughter and finally having her back in her life.

"I know everyone is probably wondering what I mean about that and I promise you I will explain everything. However first I would like everyone to enjoy this beautiful dinner and then I will make my announcement."

"Oh come on Ma are you really gonna make everyone wait until after dinner. I swear I'm about to burst here!" Lucas quickly shouts out being an impatient kid

"Yeah Barbra Jean you got everyone in suspense here why don't you just make the big announcement now." Luke adds in since he was trying to cover the fact that he'd already told Laura when he wasn't supposed to.

"I have to admit Bobbie you have Mac and me in suspense. I'm sure everyone wouldn't mind if you went ahead and told us the announcement before dinner." Felecia chimes in as well

Bobbie looks over to Carly with a look silently questioning her if she was okay with her making the announcement now. Carly lightly nods with a nervous half smile that she was okay with her telling everyone now.

"Okay well I guess it's now or never…" Bobbie replies and then exhales a breath before saying "Carly would you come here please and stand next to me…"

Carly looks nervously to Jason and then to Sonny before standing up and walking over to stand next to Bobbie. Now everyone was really curious as to what was going on and what this big announcement could be that obviously involved Carly now.

"Once upon a time a long time ago I made a decision…a decision I thought was right at the time and considering my situation back then it was but that didn't make it any easier to do. In fact it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do in my life." Bobbie tells everyone and then looks at Carly.

Exhaling a breath, Bobbie looks back at everyone as she definitely had their attention and curiosity as well "I was very young…a teenager when I became pregnant; I'll uh spare you the details of how it all came about. Like I said I was very young and very scared and I didn't have the best environment for a child to grow up in. I was a child myself so I, I, I gave my baby up for adoption. It was a girl…a beautiful baby girl that I never stopped thinking about for one second since they took her from my arms."

The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Everyone could hardly believe what they were hearing…each putting two and two together even before Bobbie finishes her announcement.

"I never thought I'd ever get the chance to see my girl ever again…but I was wrong…because she's standing right here next to me." Bobbie says and then looks at Carly with a loving smile before looking back at all the dinner guests and says "Everyone I would like to introduce you all…" Bobbie start then pauses as she turns to Carly and holds her hands between them as she says "to my daughter…"

Bobbie pulls Carly into a motherly hug as tears stream down her face while Carly returns the hug. As she holds onto her mother, Carly inhales the scent of Bobbie's shampoo in her fire red hair and began to tear up as well. It was a very emotion moment for both women and it was happening in front of a crowd of people.

Finally pulling apart, Bobbie smiles as she frames Carly's face in the palms of her hands and gently wipes away her tears with the pads of her thumbs "Welcome to the family my baby girl…" she tells Carly and then says "I love you."

Carly overcome with emotion whispers "I love you too…"

They hug once again and everyone at the dinner table sits in awe and shock at what they were witnessing.

Felecia was the first to speak up "Wow…" she says with a stunned look as she glances to Mac and then back over to Bobbie as she goes on to say "This is amazing…I'm so happy for you Bobbie."

Bobbie and Carly slowly part from their second hug and Bobbie looks down to everyone as she says while placing her arm around Carly "Thank you Felecia…"

"So how did this all come about I mean how did you find out about Carly being your daughter?" Mac asks curiously

"Oh well uh…" Carly starts out to say but Bobbie stops her as she soothingly rubs her back giving her daughter the support she needed

"Actually I have Jason to thank for that…he and Carly were friends in Florida and he offered to help her find her birth mother which to his surprise turned out to be me." Bobbie quickly begins to explain "Carly came back to Port Charles with Jason and it took her awhile before she got up the nerve to tell me who she was…and then after that it took a while for me to plan this dinner tonight." she conveniently leaves out the parts about Carly wanting revenge and only coming to Port Charles to hurt her. This was her way of protecting her daughter and besides it's what Spencer's do they protect their own. "Anyway all that matters is that we found each other and this beautiful young lady right here is my daughter…a Spencer and I invited you all here tonight so that we could all finally welcome my daughter into the Spencer family."

"That's quite a remarkable story…" Nikolas says

"Yes it's not every day you find your long lost daughter…" Gia adds in "Congratulations"

"Thank you" Bobbie replies

Mac then chimes in saying "I'm sorry I don't mean seem rude or anything but according to the story you told us you didn't mention anything about having a DNA test. How can you be sure that Carly is actually your daughter without one? I mean right now all you have is Jason's word but what if his resources are wrong. I'm sure Sonny and Jason's connections are efficient enough but…"

"But what?!" Carly says cutting Mac off "You think Jason's information is wrong?" Carly replies irritated by the commissioner

"Carly" Sonny says shaking his head at her

"No I want to know what the good Commissioner here is trying to say. He obviously has something to say so just say it."

"All I'm saying is it may be a good idea to have a DNA test just to be a hundred percent sure that's all. I wouldn't want you two to get so invested in this being true and it might not be. It's just a little friendly advice…" Mac replies

"Don't make me have to tell you where you and your advice can shove it!" Carly snaps back and then says "I trust Jason and I know before he even came to me with the information about my birth mother he had it double and triple checked to make sure."

"Is that what you did Jason?" Mac asks

Carly was about to blast Mac again but Jason stops her as he tells her "Don't" and then he looks to Mac and says "Not that it's any of your business but Carly's right I did triple check the information before I came to her with it."

"I see…but still there wasn't a DNA test done?"

Before Mac could say anything more, Bobbie interjects saying "Mac you are one of my oldest and dearest friends and I love you but you need to stop this. Carly is my daughter and I don't need a DNA test to tell me that. I know she is. I think deep down I always did because from the first moment I saw her here in Port Charles I felt a connection to her. I couldn't explain it then but now I know why. Carly is my daughter and anyone who thinks or says otherwise can leave…you know where the door is."

"Mac you are way out of line and you need to apologize right now…" Felecia tells him

"You're right…" Mac replies truly feeling sorry for what he'd done; standing up Mac walks over to Bobbie and takes her hand in his as he says "I sorry for being such a jackass. I guess it's just the cop in me to ask questions. I got a little carried away and I apologize to both you and Carly…your daughter." he says the last part looking over to Carly letting her know his apology was for her too.

The look on Carly's face wasn't impressed but she didn't call him out on his sincerity for Bobbie's sake.

Bobbie smiles at her friend and then says "Thank you…and if you truly mean that then you can stay."

"Thanks cause I'm starving…" Mac replies with a little chuckle "I'd hate to leave and miss all of this good food you made…" he walks back down to his chair to sit

Bobbie puts her arm around Carly and says "Well now that all of that's been straightened I say let's get this dinner party started." Bobbie places a kiss onto Carly's cheek then turns her around so she could look into her eyes as she says "I love you and welcome home."

Lucas finally jumps up excitedly from his chair and runs over to his mom and his new sister giving them both a hug "Welcome to the family sis!"

With a little laugh from the sudden hug "Thank you little brother…" Carly says while hugging him back

Luke stands up and walks over to Carly "Well niece we're family now how about a hug for your favorite uncle?"

"Suuure why not…" Carly smiles through gritted teeth and as Luke gets close she whispers into his ear "If I were you I'd sleep with one eye open cause you never know when I'm coming after you for blabbing to Sonny about tonight." she pulls back from the hug and places her hand behind his neck as she digs her nails into his skin

"Hey, hey okay that's enough love niece…" Luke says as he quickly moves away from her digging nails putting some space between them as he rubs the back of his now sore neck

Lucky is now walking over to Carly and says "Well it seems I have a new cousin. Welcome to the family. We're a bit dysfunctional at times but we're a loyal bunch and always have love for each other. I look forward to getting to know ya…"

"Thanks cuz…I look forward to it too" Carly smiles as she hugs her cousin

Laura came over as well and congratulated Bobbie and Carly as well…after everyone said their congratulations all the guests sat back in their chairs and finally got the dinner part of the dinner party started.

The guest enjoyed light conversation as they fixed their plates and began to eat…

"Well everything sure does look delicious Bobbie…" Felecia says

"You certainly have enough here to feed a small country that's for sure…" Mac says with a little chuckle

"Well I guess I got a little carried away cooking I just wanted everything to be perfect."

Mac looks down the table to Sonny and says "So Sonny it seems Sorel has conveniently disappeared without a trace…" the cop in him came out again and just couldn't resist the opportunity to get try to get some answers out of Sonny

"Mac" Felecia says in a warning tone

"Does this mean you're taking over his territory now?" Mac continues on not missing a beat

Sonny simply replies "I'm sorry Commissioner I don't know what you mean I'm a simple coffee importer I don't know anything about any territory…" he picks up the bowl with the green bean casserole in it and starts scooping some onto Carly's plate

Carly was just about to blast Mac for trying to pick an argument with Sonny but once she sees that Sonny is scooping the green bean casserole onto her plate she quickly snaps a what the hell look at him and immediately forgets about defending Sonny to Mac.

"Sure whatever you say…" Mac replies

"Mac you promised you'd behave now can you please change the subject…" Felecia tells him

"What I just asked a simple question…"

Carly glares at Sonny out the side of her eye as she watches him put a healthy helping of green bean casserole on her plate. Inwardly she's cussing him out saying now you good and damn well know I'm not eating no damn green vegetables…

"What?" Sonny asks wondering why she's glaring at him

Carly whispers through gritted teeth "You know I'm not eating that…"

"You don't know you may surprise yourself and like it if you give it a try." Sonny replies in a low tone so only she could hear him then uses his fork to pick some up from his plate and takes a taste to show her it's good "You see…it's good. Not as good as mine if I made it but still good."

"Well if you love it so much you eat it. You see this is exactly why I didn't tell you or want you to come tonight." Carly tells him as she uses her spoon and fork to pick up the green bean casserole he put on her plate and puts it onto his

Sonny decides not to fight her on it because he didn't want to ruin her night "Fine don't eat it"

"I don't need your permission not to eat it…" Carly lets him know as she continues to scoop the casserole onto his plate. All of a sudden Carly is overcome by nausea "Oh my god I gonna be sick…" quickly standing up she makes a mad dash out of the dining room and to the nearest bathroom

Everyone at the table wondered what was wrong with Carly since she took off running out of the room…

"Something wrong? Carly didn't look so good…" Laura asks

"I'm sure everything is fine…" Bobbie says as she stands up. Looking at Sonny as he's about to stand, Bobbie tells him "No Sonny it's okay you stay and enjoy your dinner I'll go check on her."

Sonny reluctantly sits back down even though he'd rather go after Carly instead especially since it seemed like Mac was determined not to let up about Sorel or business talk.

"Carly" Bobbie calls her name while lightly knocking on the bathroom door where Carly was inside; she makes a frown when she hears Carly inside puking…

"Don't come in here…" Carly calls back not wanting anyone to see her hugging a toilet bowl

Bobbie hears the toilet flush and then running water of the sink; she assumes Carly was washing her mouth. Since she was no longer puking Bobbie assumed it safe for her to open the door.

"Oh honey how ya doin? You feel any better now that you…"

Carly cuts her off as she says "I'm fine I just got nauseous when Sonny tried to make me eat the green beans." she picks up the mouth wash bottle, pours a little in the cap then squishes it around her mouth before spitting it out into the sink "He knows green vegetables make me sick even more so now that I'm pregnant." placing a hand on her stomach "Ugh I hate this part of pregnancy all the constant nausea and the running to the bathroom. They should change the name from morning sickness since it can hit you any time and not just the morning."

"Well once you get through your first trimester it should get better…" Bobbie tries to assure her

"I hope I didn't just make everyone suspicious with the way I ran out the room. Sonny wants to keep the fact that I'm pregnant a secret for now."

"Don't worry we'll come up with a plausible excuse before we go back in…"

Once Bobbie was out of the room Mac says "You know Sonny I'm glad that things have settled down now that Sorel seems to have left town. It means that my city is all the more safe from mob wars between the two of you."

"Like I said I'm a coffee importer…" Sonny starts to say

Felecia glares at Mac while shaking her head at him for ignoring her warnings…

"Yeah you're a regular Juan Valdez…" Mac replies then says

"Look Bubba you need to leave it be for the time being at least for tonight; my sister went through a lot of trouble to put this dinner together and I'm not gonna have you ruining it just because you wanna get Corinthos' panties in a twist so you can have any excuse to bust him and take him down to the cop shop!"

"That's not what I'm doing Luke…"

"You could have fooled me" Sonny says

"Hey I'm just trying to find out where things stand with you and your other business. I'm looking out for my friend. Bobbie just found her daughter and I would hate for something to happen to Carly because she has the misfortune to be involved with an alleged crime boss."

"I appreciate you concern but I can take care of Carly just fine without any help from you or the PCPD. Carly is under my protection so you have nothing to worry about." Sonny tells him with a deadly serious glare as he flashes a forced grin

"What about you Jason? You care to chime in with anything…"

With a shrug of his shoulders shaking his head no, Jason replies "No"

Both mob men Sonny and Jason say nothing more as they stare down Mac with deadly looks that would send chills down your spine…Sonny with his dark eyes and steel glare and Jason with his deep blue eyes giving his intimidating blank stare.

The room is filled with a tense silence. All of the other guests sat a little nervous and didn't dare say a word…

Luke finally breaks the silence "Alright enough of this crap! You three wanna have a pissing contest take it somewhere else! You will not spoil tonight for Bobbie and Carly or you'll all have to answer to me! And I think all three of you know being on my bad side isn't a place you wanna be! I gotta a .45, a shovel and I know all the good hiding places to dump your bodies. Don't think I won't do it!"

"Fine" Mac snaps out "I'll drop it…I won't say another word. You happy now Luke?"

"What do you want Bubba? A cookie?! You never should have stared this shit to begin with! First you pick a fight about Bobbie having a DNA test done on Carly and now you're picking a fight with Sonny about that idiot Sorel. Who the hell cares where that bastard's at! Tonight is about Bobbie and her daughter. You aren't at the cop shop and Mutt and Jeff over there aren't in handcuffs in an interrogation room!"

"Thank you Luke I couldn't have said it better myself…" Felecia adds in and then places a hand onto Mac's shoulder "You have no one to blame but yourself for all of this. You were supposed to behave you gave me your word."

"Okay, okay you're right. I apologize I'll drop it for real this time." Mac assures Felecia

"Good" Felecia replies "Now can we all change the subject to something more pleasant before Bobbie and Carly get back and please just enjoy this beautiful delicious dinner Bobbie prepared for us all."

Just then Bobbie and Carly come walking back into the dining room…

"So what did we miss?" Bobbie says as she sits down in her chair "I trust everyone is getting along just fine."

"Everything's fine…" Luke quickly replies and then says "Trust me you have nothing to worry about little sister." he shoots a subtle glare down to Mac and then over to Sonny

Sonny wasn't paying Luke any attention he was too busy worrying about Carly "Everything okay?" he asks in a low tone while leaning close to her ear "Maybe I should take you home…" he says with genuine concern in his eyes

Shaking her head no, Carly replies in a whisper "I'm fine and no I don't want to go home yet…but you can" she flashes a smile back hoping he would go home and see the little surprise she had waiting for him…but then again she wanted to see the look on his face when he walks into the penthouse. Maybe she would ride home with Sonny instead of Jason…

"Sorry sweetheart but I'm not leaving without ya…" Sonny says with a flash of his dimples

"Fine stay if you must…" Carly tells him then adds in "Just don't try to force me to eat something you know is gonna make me sick."

"So Carly I hope everything's okay you didn't look to well when you left out before?" Laura asks

Carly looks over to Laura "I'm fine everything is fine it's just…you know…that time of the month that's all. You know how it is…" she replies for her excuse of suddenly running out of the room

"Ugh do I ever. I swear when I was your age I hated that time of the month with all the cramps and the…"

Cutting her off, Luke snaps out "Hey, hey, hey now what the hell?! Do we really have to listen to you women compare Aunt Flo visits?!"

"I can't believe I'm about to say this but I agree with Luke. Can we please change the subject to anythingelse?" Mac adds in

All the other men at the table agree in unison nodding their heads…the women at the table just laugh at them while shaking their heads.

The subject of Aunt Flo visits was quickly changed. The Spencer's each took turns telling Carly what being a part of the Spencer family meant and would be like. Carly began to enjoy being around her new family.

Once everyone was done with dinner all the guest began to gradually say their goodbyes while also thanking Bobbie for the wonderful dinner and congratulating both Bobbie and Carly once again for finding each other and having another change to be mother and daughter.

"So…are you ready to go home?" Sonny asks Carly since he was ready to get home

"Yeah but I will be leaving with Jason since I did come with him after all…" Carly replies even though she knew she would be leaving with Sonny she couldn't help but tease him

"You may have come with Jason but you're leaving with me…" Sonny tells her in no uncertain terms

"Is that an order?"

"Damn right it is…" Sonny says in a whisper leaning into her ear

Carly couldn't help but nibble at her bottom lip when he whispered into her ear and the feel of his breath against her skin…ugh those damn pregnancy hormones were kicking in again. It was taking everything in her not to grab his face and kiss in senseless…

Clearing her suddenly dry throat, Carly places a hand to Sonny's chest and with a little nudge puts space between them "I have to go to the bathroom…" she quickly tells him and then takes off.

This time going to the bathroom was just her excuse to put some distance between her and Sonny so she could get herself together and ready herself for the battle that was gonna happen the second they stepped into the penthouse…that and to get her damn pregnancy hormones in check.

Once Carly was out of sight, Sonny walks over to Jason as he stood leaning against a wall…to say he was ready to go would be an understatement.

"Hey look you can go ahead and take off if you want. Carly's gonna ride home with me." Sonny tells him

"Fine by me…" Jason replies then thinks for a second before asking "Is Carly okay with this? I don't wanna hear her mouth yelling at me for leaving her…"

Sonny holds up a hand cutting Jason off as he says "Its fine don't worry about it. I already told her I was taking her home."

With a nod, Jason says "Good then I'll see ya later…" he gives Sonny a pat on the shoulder before leaving

Bobbie just finished saying her goodbyes to Mac and Felecia when Jason comes walking towards her. She thanks him for coming and he thanks her as well for having him even though he wouldn't have come if Carly hadn't tricked him into it.

Now walking into the living room, Bobbie sees Sonny standing there "Waiting on Carly?"

"How'd you guess?" Sonny replies with a little smirk then says "She went to the bathroom she should be out soon."

Bobbie makes a quick look around the room to make sure they were alone before saying in a lowered tone "Yeah well I'm afraid my daughter running to the bathroom is a pregnancy hazard you both are gonna have to get use to at least until the first trimester is over."

Sonny nods…

Sensing that Sonny didn't want to talk about Carly's pregnancy since they were still keeping it secret Bobbie then changes the subject "Hey look I'm sorry about Mac tonight. Luke mentioned to me what happened when I left out of the room to check on Carly. He was way out of line for that…"

"Don't worry about it. It's over and done."

"No he shouldn't have even brought up the subject of Sorel or your business in the first place. Tonight was about celebrating my daughter's welcome into our family so believe me I will have a talk with Mac about it later."

"You don't have to do that…"

"Nonsense and don't even try to talk me out of it. You are in a sense an extension to my family now since you are my soon-to-be grandbaby's father and if there is one thing that we Spencer's do is stand up for our family."

"Thanks Bobbie I appreciate the gesture but you really don't have to. I can handle Mac and anything he throws at me."

Leaving out of the bathroom, Carly remembers she left her purse in the dining room on her chair so she heads back to get it. As she is about to walk into the dining room, Carly stops short when she hears Luke talking to someone…

"Yeah Sonny's type of woman is usually some dumb brunette nit wit like Brenda…"

"Luke" Laura says shaking her head at him

"It's true and you know it…" Luke replies then says "Anyway If Brenda was smart she wouldn't have worn a wire for the cops and if that wasn't dumb enough she got caught by Sonny himself so yeah she's dumber than box of rocks."

Carly couldn't help but nod and grin at what Luke said about Brenda…

"Okay Brenda was stupid for wearing the wire and she's lucky all Sonny did was end their relationship but I just can't get over the fact that Sonny is so into Carly. I mean she is far from his type that's all."

"Corinthos needed a change from his usual dumb box of rocks and my niece is his match. She's a Spencer she'll keep Sonny on his toes…"

"That's for sure…" Laura jokes and Luke smirks in agreement. "So when did Sonny and Carly get back together. The last I heard Sonny ended it with her and Carly moved out."

"Yeah well Sonny didn't mean it when he broke up with Carly. The poor smuck is so head over heels in love with my niece to its pitiful."

"Sonny's in love with Carly?" Laura asks with a shocked look

Laura wasn't the only one shocked…Carly stood there with her jaw dropped open as her heart began to race while she stood quiet and completely still so she could hear more of Luke's conversation with Laura.

"That's what I said…" Luke replies

"Did he tell you that or is this just you speculating?"

"I heard it straight from Corinthos himself…of course it was only after I kept at him to admit it and he got so annoyed of me that he finally did."

"Sonny admitted he's in love with Carly…he said the words I'm in love with Carly."

"Yeah he said it what do you want me to do hire a sky writer to spell it out before you believe me."

"No, no I believe you it's just…why would Sonny break up with Carly if he's so in love with her?" Laura asks curiously "You said Sonny didn't mean it when he broke up with Carly? So why did he?"

"Sonny only broke up with Carly because in his thinking he was saving her from his dangerous life style. After everything went down with Sorel and don't ask details on that cause I can't tell ya but the point is Sonny only did it to keep what happened to Lily from happening to Carly. Something Sorel did scared him enough that he thought by pushing Carly away and ending their relationship that he was ultimately saving her life. He had to say some pretty harsh stuff to her just to get her to buy that he didn't want to be with her anymore. But the thing is he's so in love with Carly that he can't get over her…he wants her back but doesn't know how to do it."

"Well doesn't he already have her back I mean they are together right? Sonny hasn't left Carly's side for a second tonight. And their body language tonight alone had me believing they were a couple again."

"They're living together but they aren't back together…" Luke explains

"What? That doesn't make sense…" Laura says

It was just then Carly makes her presence known as she slowly walks into the dining room "You're right…it doesn't."

Both Luke and Laura turn to look at Carly who was now standing in the room and boy did she look pissed!

"Hey niece…how uh…how long have you been standing there?" Luke asks

"Long enough…" Carly replies

"You heard everything didn't you…" Luke says with a sigh

"Yeah…pretty much."

"Look uh I didn't mean for you to hear any of that you weren't supposed find out like this…"

"Find out what?!" Carly snaps back and then says "That Sonny loves me and only broke up with me to keep me safe? That he said all of those horrible things to me when he ended our relationship for my own good!"

"Yeah what you said…." Luke replies not knowing exactly what to say to her all he knew was that Sonny was gonna be livid for him letting the cat out of the bag.

Stomping her way over to her purse, Carly snatches it off the chair and storms out of the dining room in search for Sonny.

"This ain't gonna be good…." Luke says to Laura as they watch Carly leave out the dining room

"You think?" Laura replies and then says "Maybe it would be best for us not to go in there and leave out the back way." she knew if Sonny saw Luke he'd be a dead man walking

"I'm right behind ya…" Luke says as he follows Laura out the back entrance to avoid seeing Sonny and the showdown he's about to have with Carly.

As Carly comes into the living room both Bobbie and Sonny look over to her and notice that something was wrong…

"You o…" Sonny starts out to ask if she was okay however the SMACK across the face Carly hit him with stopped him from asking

"You Son of a Bitch!" Carly says as she slapped Sonny across his face

With his hand now on his stinging face, Sonny looks at Carly with a frown as he asks "What the hell was that for?"

"You love me!" Carly yells at him

Bobbie tries to understand what's going on "Carly calm down and please explain…"

"I overheard Luke tell Laura that you love me and that the only reason you broke up with me was to keep me safe because of something Sorel did!"

"I'm gonna kill him…" Sonny mumbles

"Not before I kill you!" Carly tells him and she exhales a breath before asking "So it's true…you love me and the only reason you broke it off was to keep me safe?"

Sonny stays silent for a moment trying to figure out what to say to her…

"Answer me!" Carly yells at him "Is it true?!"

"I'm not gonna talk about this here with you! You're upset let me take you home…" Sonny replies and then tries to reach a hand out to her but she smacks it away

"Don't…don't touch me." Carly says fighting back the tears that were threatening to fall

"Sonny maybe it would be better for Carly to stay here for tonight so she can calm down and then you two can talk tomorrow with cooler heads."

"I'm sorry Bobbie but I can't do that…I'm not leaving here without Carly with me" Sonny tells her

"I think that decision is for Carly to make…" Bobbie replies and then looks to Carly and asks "Are you okay with going home with Sonny?"

Wanting answers from him, Carly simply replies "For now…" and then stomps away from Sonny and heads to the front door.

Flinging open the door, Carly leaves out slamming it behind her. Even though it was no longer raining and the light of the moon was shining bright like it never even rained the ground was still wet. Carly made sure to be careful as she walked to the limo. Marco sees her coming and opens the door for her.

Sonny runs a hand through his hair in frustration when he heard the door slam…he starts to walk to the door to go after her.

"Sonny…" Bobbie calls out his name and he turns around as she says "I'm glad Carly finally knows how you feel about her. She's upset and she's hurt right now…be patient with her."

Without saying a word Sonny gives her a slight nod before turning around and leaving out the door…

As Sonny walks down the drive way towards the awaiting limo he tries to figure out in his head what to say to Carly. He knew she was upset but really how angry can a person be to find out someone is in love with you. This was not the way he wanted Carly to find out he's in love with her. He wanted to tell her in his own way and he would have if it wasn't for Luke's big mouth!

Inwardly Sonny began to say to himself as he walks to the limo "Just wait until I get my hands on you Luke Spencer! You may have a .45 and a shovel but I have leg weights and a boat ride that's waiting to dump you and your blabber mouth at the bottom of the river."

As Sonny approaches the limo, Marco opens the door for him and Sonny exhales a breath before getting inside. Now sitting in the limo he looks over to see Carly sitting on the other side next to the window with her arms folded and staring straight at head not looking at anything in particular just not looking at him at all.

"Carly…" Sonny softly says her name

Carly closes her eyes and for the first time lets a tear fall…he called her Carly. Why if he was in love with her was he still calling her Carly instead of Caroline like he use to before the break up. Maybe Luke was wrong and Sonny didn't love her I mean after all when she asked Sonny point blank did he love her back in the Brownstone he didn't answer her…he just said he didn't to talk about it there.

Seeing the tears fall down her cheek all Sonny wanted to do was reach out to her and wipe them away but he knew she wouldn't allow him to. He hated to see her cry…and then as if he could read her mind, Sonny realized the reason why she finally let her tears flow.

"Caroline…" Sonny gently says her name

That got Carly's attention and she finally turns to look at him "You haven't called me that in a long time…" she says with so much emotion that her voice cracked a little

"I'm sorry…"

"Is it true…what Luke said? Do you love me?" Carly asks in a soft tone and then wipes away her tears as she awaits his answer

"Yes…it's true." Sonny replies

Closing her eyes, Carly shakes her head no with a smile before finally opening her eyes she says "You're a son of a bitch you know that…"

Sonny asks confused "I'm a son of a bitch for loving you?"

"Yeah…how could you? How could you say those horrible things to me? How could you push me away? How could you hurt me the way you did all while loving me? You BASTARD!"

"I did it to protect you!" Sonny yells

"To protect me! Okay then following that logic you should still be pushing me away now since I'm pregnant." Carly points out to him

"I'm selfish okay! I'm a selfish man! And I want you back and I want our baby too…"

"Yeah but if I wasn't pregnant you'd still be pushing me away and out of your life even though you claim to love me?!"

"Yes because I can't stand to see you hurt or you dead because of the way I live my life!" Sonny explains then goes on to say before she could get a word out "But you are pregnant with my child and I cannot…no I will not do to my child what my father did to me!"

"So you admit you only want me back because of the baby? That's not love Sonny!"

"I do love you damn it! It's because I love you that I pushed you away! It wasn't easy! It was the hardest thing I had to do! I hated those things I had to say to you to get you to walk out the door and never look back! It killed me to have to do it but it had to be done!"

"And what…now there suddenly is no danger to me or our baby…"

"The danger is still here it always will be but the only difference is that I realize that I can't live my life without you and our child. I tried living without you and it only made me miserable. Yes the danger is still here but I promise you that I will diethat I will lay down my own life protecting both you and our child."

"Oh come off it Sonny you only want me because of the baby you said so yourself that you're selfish. You want the baby but you don't want me just admit it."

"Damn it woman will you listen to me!" Sonny fires back then exhales a breath before saying "If I didn't want you why would I have ordered Max and Johnny to follow you before I knew you were pregnant? Why would I do that?"

"I don't know!" Carly quickly shouts back

"You don't know well I'll tell you why I did! Because the thought of you actually moving on and finding someone else to be with made me want to put my fist through a wall! And it was a good thing I did have them following ya because that idiot Doctor Doofus kept sniffing around ya like some lost puppy waiting for you to throw him a bone!"

A long moment of silence passes between them before Sonny finally breaks the silence "Look…" he exhales a sigh "I hate that you overheard Luke talking to Laura about something he shouldn't have been speaking with her about but…I'm glad that the truth is finally out. It was killing me to not tell you the real reason I pushed you away. You know how much I hate lies and here I was lying to you. I just didn't think that if I told you the truth that you would accept or believe it. Tell me something Caroline…was I right? Now that you know the truth does it make a difference? Can you accept my apology and forgive me?" he then asks in a whisper "Will you take me back?" his eyes blink as he anxiously awaits her answer

There was a dead silence in the back of the limo…so quiet you could hear a pin drop until finally Carly answers him "No…"

"Wh-what…"

"No…Sonny, I will not take you back."

"Caroline…" Sonny starts to say

Carly holds up a hand stopping him from saying another word and then says "Do you know how long I waited for you to come to me and tell me that you didn't really mean it and you wanted me back. I waited and I waited but you never did and I still wouldn't have known if I didn't over hear Luke talking with Laura. No…I can't be with you Sonny."

"Do you love me?" Sonny asks her point blank and on the spot

"It doesn't matter…" Carly replies shaking her head

"That's not an answer…"

"Well it's the only one I got!" Carly snaps back then says "How can you expect me to take you back and just forget everything that happened and every hurtful thing you said like it was nothing? How can I trust that if things get bad again in your business that you won't try to push me away for my own good like before? I can't go through that again Sonny…I won't. I can't trust you." she says with tears in her eyes

The limo pulls up to a stop inside the parking garage of the Harbor View Towers and Carly immediately opens the door and gets out. Sonny quickly follows behind her and catches up with her at the elevator. The elevator doors shut and Carly presses the button for the penthouse floor…

They ride the elevator up in silence until "I'm not gonna give up on you…on us…don't ask me to." Sonny says while not looking at her but instead staring up at the elevator numbers as they light up

Carly looks at him and says "You wouldn't listen to me if I did so why bother…" she then folds her arms and turns to look up at the elevator numbers as well "I can't deal with any of this right now or with you so I'm going over to Jason's. And don't you dare try to stop me."

Carly was so pissed off at Sonny that she'd forgotten about all of the Barbie stuff she'd booby-trapped the penthouse with. The elevator doors open and Carly quickly exits and heads straight for Jason's place. Sonny watches Carly as she pushes past Johnny standing at Jason's door and goes inside slamming the door behind her.

Sonny stands for a moment in the hallway just staring at the closed penthouse 2 door. Both Max and Johnny pass looks at each other; they were glad they figured out what Carly was up to before Sonny made it home since it seems like Sonny and Carly had a fight with the way Carly stormed inside Jason's place without a word.

"Everything okay boss?" Johnny asks

Sonny doesn't reply except giving Johnny a back off look letting him know he didn't want to talk about it and even if he did it wouldn't be with him or any of the other guards.

"Jason home?" Sonny asks

"Yeah he got back a little while ago…" Johnny replies

Sonny stands quiet for a moment longer and then turns and walks to his door; Max quickly opens the door for him.

As Max closes the door behind Sonny he looks over to Johnny and says "Well that didn't look good…they must have gotten into a fight."

"Yeah it would seem so…"

"It's a good thing we figured out what Carly did before they got back. I don't want to even think about what the boss would do to us if he walked inside and saw the redecorating Carly did to the place."

"Well we don't have to worry about that because we did figure it out in time and were able to put everything back the way it was…" Johnny replies

Of course neither Max nor Johnny realized they were still in boiling hot water since they didn't bother to check upstairs in the master bedroom where Carly had also redecorated.

Across the hall in Penthouse 2

"JASON!" Carly calls out his name the second she slammed the door closed behind her

Jason comes practically running out of the kitchen with a beer in his hand when he heard her yell out his name "I'm right here why are you yelling…"

Seeing him, Carly immediately walks straight to him and wraps her arms around him in a hug. He hugs her back while inwardly telling himself she and Sonny must have gotten into a fight.

When he hears her start to cry, Jason asks "You wanna tell me what happened…"

"I found out the real reason Sonny broke up with me…" Carly says as she sniffs and then leans back from his chest while wiping her tears "He loves me Jason."

"I'm confused…isn't that a good thing?"

Carly exhales a sigh as she says "It would be if I heard it from Sonny before he decided to push me away for my own good. No instead I overhear Luke talking to Laura." She walks over to the couch and plops down.

"What's Luke and Laura gotta do with it?" Jason asked with a confused look as he walks over to the couch and sits next to her

"Luke was telling Laura the whole thing about why Sonny broke up with me and that he loves me. He said Sonny only broke up with me to protect me and to keep what happened to Lily to happen to me. Something Sorel said or did I don't know but imagine how shocked I was when I heard it all."

"I bet…"

Then a thought comes to her "Did you know?" Carly asks him point blank "Why would Luke know and not you?"

"Did I know Sonny was in love with you?"

"You know what I'm talking about Jason. Did you know Sonny only broke up with me to protect me from whatever it was Sorel said or did? Did you?"

"Did Sonny come right out and tell me no but I did suspect that's what he would do…yes."

"Why didn't you tell me?!" Carly fires back

"Because it wasn't my place to tell you!" Jason argues then exhales a breath before saying "Besides that Sonny had already made up his mind and you of all people know that no one tells Sonny what to do especially once he's made up his mind about something. He had to come to realize on his own that he was making a mistake."

"You're my friend Jason my best friend…you should have told me." Carly tells him and then exhales a breath before saying "But I guess I understand why you didn't. You don't force your opinion on others or tell them what to do. Instead you let them figure it out on their own…it's one of the things I love most about you."

A moment of silence passes between them before Jason says "Like I said Sonny never told me directly why he ended your relationship but yeah I did have a suspicion of why he did it…and then he sent me away to Puerto Rico on business."

"Wait a minute…Sonny sent you away so you wouldn't tell me the truth?"

"No I think it was more because he was jealous and didn't want you living with me again or for you to rebound with me as a way to get over him."

Closing her eyes for a moment Carly shakes her head as she says "Figures"

Not a second later did they hear a loud voice yelling out…

"CAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!"

"That sounded like Sonny…" Jason says

Hearing Sonny's loud roar of her name, Carly finally remembered about the redecorating she did which causes a sneaky little grin to form at the corner of her mouth

"Uh oh…what's that look for?" Jason asks

"Oh nothing…"

"Don't give me it's nothing it's obviously something so what did you do?"

"Nothing…" Carly says with a shrug of her shoulders "Just a little redecorating that's all…"

"What kind of…"

Cutting him off "Actually I'm surprised it took this long for the control freak to start freaking out…" Carly says with a smirk

Out In the Hallway

The second Max and Johnny heard Sonny yelling Carly's name they both went in panic mode…

Max's eyes open wide as he holds his breath while looking over to Johnny. Johnny looked just as scared as he shrugged his shoulders confused to what Sonny could be yelling Carly's name about.

"We fixed everything didn't we?" Max asks

"Yeah I triple checked the living room before we left out…"

"We must have missed something otherwise why would the boss be y…" Max stops mid-sentence as the door flings open which causes him to jump back and quickly back his way up over to where Johnny stood

"What the hell happened to my bedroom?!" Sonny barks out as his death glare sends chills down both Max and Johnny's spines "Why does it look like a pink nightmare?! There's Barbie crap everywhere and everything's PINK!"

Max and Johnny pass quick looks at each other both inwardly cursing themselves for not checking upstairs since they only focused downstairs on the living room.

"I asked you two a question! Don't make me ask again!"

"W-w-we're sorry sir…" Johnny starts out saying

"We thought it was just the living room…" Max adds in

"We put everything back the way it was but…"

"We forgot to check upstairs we should have checked upstairs…"

"Wait what do you mean you thought it was just the living room?!" Sonny snaps back and then says before they could reply "Never mind! What I want to know is how the hell did you two allow this to happen?!" again before they could reply he yells out "SPEAK UP!"

"Carly uh I mean Ms. Benson she had some things delivered for the baby…" Johnny starts to explain

"She said she ordered some things to decorate the nursery…" Max quickly chimes in trying to explain as well

"So in other words she tricked you two idiots!" Sonny fires back but again before they could reply he says "Shut up I don't want to hear any more of your excuses" he barrels past them and bursts open the door to penthouse two

Back inside Penthouse 2

"Why Carly why would you do that?" Jason asks and then answers his own question "What am I saying you did it so Sonny would get mad and kick you out…"

"Ding, ding, ding give the man a prize…" Carly says looking up at Jason as he stood from the couch

"You know that's not gonna happen right; all you did was piss him off…"

"Yeah well right now I'm more pissed off and to top it off I'm pregnant and hormonal so do you know what that means?"

"What?"

"It means I'm liable to rip off your head and not think a second thought about it! So you just let Sonny try me and see what the hell he gets…"

"You know what I'm out of it this is between you two…" Jason tells her as he walks over to his pool table and picks up a pool cue

Carly stands up from the couch "Chicken" she says to him as he racks up the balls on the table
