Sorry for the very, very late update. I was distracted and than all this weird stuff happened, and it's been crazy for me these past few weeks. Sorry again!
Disclaimer: I do not own any characters from the Percy Jackson series. it wouldn't be as awesome as it is now if I did. Just putting it out there.
"Yes?" Corra asked when she had opened it. King frowned as he looked around her room. No one else was there. King's eyes met with Corra's.
"Where are the boys?" King asked, trying not to freak out.
Corra frowned, pushing past King. She surveyed the kitchen, living room, extra bathroom (the one where Nico had walked into to take a shower), and lastly, King's bedroom. She turned to King, glanced at the food sitting on the counter, and slumped on to the couch.
"Oh gods, not again!" Corra groaned, running a hand through her semi-wet hair. King bit his lip so hard, he drew blood, but he just slumped down next to Corra. Said girl let out a deep sigh, and asked, "So, are we going to go straight to Madam Joni? Or are we going to eat breakfast first?"
"Let's eat something first. It won't help the boys if we can't think straight on account of not having something in our stomachs," King decided after a moment of thinking. Corra reluctantly nodded, and the two friends stood to eat some of the breakfast Percy and King had made.
This time when Nico woke up, he wasn't strapped to a weird machine or alone in that horrible plain, white room. He was on the floor of a dirty, old cell with Percy sleeping on the bed next to him. Much of the cell's walls were covered in green moss, and the parts that weren't covered in moss, did not have any paint left. The only window in the cell was directly above Nico's head, carved out of the ceiling.
Nico sat up, and immediately moved to wake Percy up. The boy bolted to his feet, immediately in defense mode, but he had knocked Nico over in the process.
Percy smiled a little, and said, "Sorry, man. Didn't expect you to be standing there."
Nico sighed heavily, knowing it was no use in arguing right now. He stood and looked toward the door. It was just like a jail cell door: nothing but metal bars running from top to bottom. "Where are we this time?" He asked, groaning softly.
"I don't know, but I hope we aren't in the same place as last time. I don't want anyone messing with my mind again," Percy replied, even though Nico hadn't anticipated an answer.
After several silent minutes, Nico asked, "Well, what do we do now? Do we try to escape?" Percy shook his head no, but continued to study the bars like he was devising an escape plan.
Out of nowhere, a voice cut through the silence: "You boys aren't gonna escape this time. The boss will make sure of that! But, you've got nothing better to do, so why not try?"
Nico and Percy looked all around, but they couldn't locate the source of the noise. At last, Percy spotted a speaker and camera across the hall from their cell. The camera was pointed right at them, and it looked like it hadn't been used in years and years, but the light was blinking. So that meant the camera was working.
"Percy, do you have Riptide?" Nico asked, after he had checked his belt. His sword wasn't there, but he was sure he had at Corra's house. Percy's hand flew to his pocket, but sadly, he shook his head no. Nico grumbled some curses at the guards in Italian, and then went to sit on the bed. It wasn't a very comfortable bed; however Percy came and sat down next to Nico.
"I'm a little hungry," Percy stated out of nowhere. Nico sighed; feeling a headache coming on. This week was a total disaster. Save for last night…..
"Yeah. I am too," Nico agreed. Percy glanced at the camera; which was still staring at them.
"Do you think they'll give us some food?" Percy whispered to Nico. The boy stole a glance at the camera, than sighed and shook his head.
"No, Percy. I don't think the people, who kidnapped us and locked us up in a cell, will give us food," Nico deadpanned with a roll of his eyes.
"It was just a question," Percy grumbled, turning away from Nico. Percy closed his eyes, and leaned against the wall, signaling the end to the conservation he started.
Nico was a little surprised. This was really out of character for Percy. Does this have something to do with Annabeth? Nico wondered. A day after Percy had mailed his letter to Annabeth, he had gotten a reply, but after reading it, Percy had spent the whole day locked up in King's room with the boy.
Corra and Nico had been too busy watching the guards to pay much attention to the letter. And neither one of them had bothered to ask what the letter had said. This left Nico wondering if Percy was remembering the letter's contents and if it had really been that bad. Well, it couldn't hurt to ask, right?
"Percy?" Nico asked slowly. Percy made a noise to indicate he was listening, and Nico swallowed nervously. "What was in that letter Annabeth sent you?"
Percy opened his eyes and stared at Nico, expressionless. Nico gulped, and suddenly found the floor very interesting.
"She said a lot of things. Most of it reminding me of what we had been through together," Percy said. His voice didn't break once, and his face was neutral the entire time. "Then she said that she'd meet someone else. Someone that's better than me. I guess Eros didn't like us together." He shrugged carelessly.
Nico frowned. He had met Eros before, but a lot had changed since then. Especially about Nico liking Percy. "So, that's it? You're over it? You don't care anymore?" Nico asked.
"Of course I care, Nico! I just…. I'm not gonna talk about this right now! If we don't have a plan of escape, than let's try and think of one!" Percy exclaimed harshly. He turned away Nico altogether, and leaned on the wall next to him.
They two sat in silence with empty stomachs and jumbled thoughts for the rest of day and much into the night. Finally, Percy got up and lay down on the floor, muttering about Nico getting the bed. Nico said nothing in return, but lay down on the bed anyways.
This was going to be a very long night.
I hope you all enjoyed that! And, FYI, if anyone wants to kill me, please review and tell me. R&R!
