Anger was not the same as numbness, or so Kazuma was learning. Still, this all-consuming rage was a tornado, slowly choking the life out of his sadness, his regret. It wasn't peace, but at least it was something different for once. He'd had gone completely mad if not for his powers.
Utsumi turned out to be a waste of time, more obsessed with Nanase than he was Pandemonium. Though Kazuma would be sure to keep an eye on him, his time would be better spent searching out the Seeds, crushing their desires for power and finally getting some release from his own pent up fury. It passed the time, after all.
"You ready to die, wind magic user?" One such seed was calling, his eyes glowing yellow and fangs pushing through his gums. Experimentally, Kazuma ran his tongue along the smooth line of his own teeth, curious as to how the man didn't bite is own tongue off with all that jabbering. "After I've defeated you, I'll be loaded with experience points! Then I'll finally become the master!" Always amused by their taunts and hopeless dreams, Kazuma waited, not wanting to spend any more energy on this flee than was really necessary. All it took was a little bit of wind, though he probably used more than was really necessary. Reveling in the chaos, Kazuma could feel someone watching him, someone whose aura was too pure for his own dark matter to fully recognize. The sensation was…unpleasant, like a quick burn from a match at the end of his fingers.
"Brother, what are you doing here?" Kazuma asked, looking over to find Ren watching with horror filled eyes.
"I tried to call…I looked for you." Ren was mumbling, still staring as if he did not know the man before him.
"Damn it." A hoarse voice interrupted. Kazuma glanced back at the Seed, who was barely able to lift his head from the ground. "Is that really all you've got? You'll never defeat me." Calmly striding towards the man, Kazuma used his foot to push him back down, eliciting a moan of pain and exhaustion.
"Kazuma, let him go!" Ren called from behind him, but Kazuma didn't make the mistake of looking up this time. He just had to keep his focus and then all of this would be over. The nightmare that had haunted Kazuma ever since Tsui-Ling, well he would be gone, the game ended. Kazuma would move on. He just had to keep focus. No one could see that though, could they?
"Stay out of my way." He ordered Ren.
"Stop it!" Ren tried again. The sound of footsteps and then two little weaklings Ren called friends hauled him off, saving Kazuma from having to reply. He rested a little more weight on the shoulder of the injured man at his feet, who'd long since passed out from the pain. They were going to pay for it all, every moment he'd spent remembering the sight of Tsui-Ling writhing in agony before her soul was claimed. He'd always remember.
Just when he'd had everything, a life he could be content with, that was when Bernhart had take everything. An eye for an eye. Just as Pandemonium was at its height, he would blow it down, rip it apart. It was time to end things.
