Stage 19: What is right
After successfully retrieving his three marines, Everyone celebrated their return in the infirmary, but kept the volume low so they wouldn't wake up Junta. One of the marines who was rescued held of bottle of champagne. "Hold on there marine, that stuff is bad for ya." Roberto said joyfully. "C'mon General Garcia," the marine respectfully rebutted, "After all we been through, I thing we deserve to celebrate a great victory." The Los Lobos Santos operative agreed with him. "It is true sir, he paddled us to safety and kept his guard up until we were able to make it back." the operative said. Being please it this new information, Roberto smiled. "After hearing that I am promoting you to corporal marine. You earned it." he said. The marine was excited to hear, he shook the champagne bottle quickly. "This call for a celebration." he said, but when he was about to pop the bottle, the nurse snatched it from him and shushed him. "Sshh, the baby is trying to sleep," she scolded him, "you are the only loud one here." and she walked away with the champagne bottle. The marine tried to plea with her, but she just shushed him even more. He watched sadly as she walked away.
"Guess the celebration is gonna have to wait." Roberto joked and he looked towards Junta's crib. "I'm glad now that I am able to honor his mothers last wish, I'm sure that the grandparents will be pleased." he continued. As she placed the champagne inside a cabinet, the nurse looked at Roberto. "It's going to be a shame to have the cute little guy away," she said, "especially with the positive impact he has on the Princess." Then she locked the cabinet. "A positive impact?" Roberto asked. Pointing at Euphemia who is sleeping in bed next to Junta's blue crib, the nurse explained. "At first she was broken and filled with despair, but when she met the baby, she made a complete turn around," she said, "I'm beginning to think that she has developed feelings for Junta; whenever he cries, she comes to tend him, sometimes he cries just because he wants to see her." Roberto began to feel as if he shouldn't give Junta back, he pondered about it. "It is the right thing to do." He said to himself. "I really wish there was another way, but giving him back to his proper family is better," he said, "I'm sure Euphy will understand."
Closing into their original destination: the Tokyo Settlement. Everyone was in the Command Center waiting to arrive. Roberto was just sitting at the center playing his hand held video game. Carlos, Rojas, Filiberto, and Marco were around, wondering what will happen next. As he played his game, his phone vibrated; he received a text message. He pulled out his black, touch screen phone and looked at the text message, reading "I will not repent, I will make whatever sacrifice that is needed." . It upsets him. "It is a message from Ze-Lelouch, he's not gonna stop his path of blood." said Roberto. "He made his choice, it will only lead him to death." said Rojas. "Lets just focus on the task at hand, we are an hour away from Tokyo, we must stay focus." said Roberto. In his mind Roberto thought about it, it felt like a repetitive cycle for him, his friends being his enemies, even though he knows that it is not entirely true, but it felt like it to him. First Diego, now Lelouch, the one who signed his brothers death warrant. Then he remembered about Diego. "Has anyone heard about Diego's trial?" he asked. "Diego was found innocent thanks to your testimony, Euphemia's testimony, and to the piling evidence that he was under the influence of some mind control technique, he was found not guilty." said Filiberto, in a way it gave everyone some joy, even Roberto cracked a smile after hearing that. "The question is will Diego live knowing what he was forced to do." said Rojas. For the moment everyone remained silent, they just looked at each other.
Meanwhile the Third Foundation's navy stationed at Hokkaido we in what appears to be attack formation. The black, sowing needle shaped ships stood align as if they were getting ready to launch a missile strike. The only white flagship sailed in the middle; obviously that is the commanding vessel. Inside it's command stood and tall, yet slim man, wearing a black officers uniform. Being surrounded by his subordinates grey, naval uniforms. "Commander Kodex, all ships are ready to commence bombardment and we have acquired the target satellites, shall we commence?" one of the naval officers asked, "No, not entirely. Destroy their satellites, but after that we are heading to the Chubu region." he said. His cold, ice eyes looked as if he has seen the fires of hell. He took a deep breathe and pulled out a photo of his wife and his son; Junta. "I will avenge you both, he said to himself.
The Faithmarian flagship made it to Tokyo. Roberto went to the infirmary with Filiberto to pick up Junta. Euphemia was awake, she was sadden at the fact that she may never see Junta again. She began to love him as if he was her own child. "Euphy, I know this is hard, but it is the right thing to do, it was his mothers last wish that he is to be given to her parents." Roberto trying to convince Euphemia. It did not make her feel any better, Euphemia wanted to keep him, but she knew it wouldn't be right to deny him his family. "Can I atleast say one last good bye to him?" she sorrowfully asked. Roberto feeling as if he is doing something wrong couldn't say no, something inside of him made it painful for him to honor the last wish of Junta's birth mother. "Go ahead Euphy." he said to her. She got out of her bed and stood over Junta's crib; watching him sleep peacefully. It was like her world was being taken away from her again. She bent over and kissed him on his forehead. When she was done, she whispered "you will always be in my heart." Giving her final good bye to him. "Roberto, keep him safe for me." She said to Roberto. Cracking a smile, Roberto said "He'll be put in safe hands." Filiberto went and grabbed the crib gently so he wouldn't wake up Junta. Euphemia watched as he was being taken away, a tear streamed down her face as her heart shattered. Roberto felt terrible about this, he felt he had butterflies in his stomach. "Euphy... I'm really sorry," said Roberto, "I truly wish there was another way, but-" "It is okay," Euphemia interrupted, " You'r doing the right thing." she said. Afterwards she went back to bed and buried her face in the pillow. Even with her understanding. Roberto sill didn't right about this.
