Chapter 21
The big day was upon our heroes and Isabella was pacing trying to work out the last minute details. Even though Feliss is the maid of honor, Isabella's more used to planning so most of it was put on her.
"Okay, we have the decorations, flowers, wedding party, DJ, and food," She sighed in relief. "Am I missing anything?" She mumbled running through the list about a thousand times. "No, I think we're ready, I just need to check on the groom and the bride to be," She said.
She decided to check on her brother before Tempest. She found him nervously pacing dressed in his black and red suit and wearing a path in the ground. "Adam, I know you have cold feet but there's no reason to take in out on the carpet."
"I'm sorry, but I'm nervous," He said not stopping with his pacing.
"That's perfectly understandable, Adam but nothing's going to go wrong, I promise."
"What if I mess up the wedding?" He asked.
"You won't, Adam. I have faith in that."
"What if I do or she decides that I'm not good enough?" Adam said rambling.
"Adam, she would never do that, she loves you more than anything."
"Why though? I'm not worthy of her," Adam said.
"So, you think she thought she was worthy of you when you first started off?"
"I don't know," He said finally sitting down.
"Well, the answer is no, she didn't, and whether or not you think you're worthy of her now. To her you are more than worthy."
"Well, I guess," Adam said.
"I promise she will never leave you." Isabella said confidently.
"Okay, okay" Adam said calming down.
"Good, and congratulations." Isabella said with a smile.
"Thank you," Adam said smiling back nervously.
"It'll be okay." Isabella repeated giving him a hug. He hugged her back nodding, "I should probably go check on Tempest though." Isabella said.
"Yeah okay, you do that," Adam said.
They let go and Isabella headed to where Tempest is getting ready. Tempest was sitting nervously dressed in her white mermaid style that was held up by two lace triangular halter straps and fell to her ankles.
"Hey Tempest," Isabella said carefully.
"Oh hey Isa," She said clearly nervous.
"You nervous?" Isabella asked sitting down next to her.
"Yes, very nervous," She said.
"Well, don't be, everything's going to be perfect." Isabella promised just as she had with Adam.
"Are you sure?"
"I'm positive, I have everything worked out and Adam really loves you. He wouldn't have asked if he didn't."
"I guess so," She said.
"It is understandable that you are though, everyone is on their wedding day."
"Yeah?" She said clearly worried.
"Yeah, but they're pretty much always wrong and everything goes right, that's what's going to happen today." Isabella promised.
"Okay," She sighed.
"Then cheer up, you're marrying the man of your dreams."
"Yeah, I am," She said smiling.
"Where's Feliss?" Isabella asked.
"She had to use the restroom," Tempest said.
"Ah," Isabella nodded.
"Yeah," She sighed.
"Glad to hear you guys missed me." Feliss said coming in.
"Yes we did," Isabella said.
"There's no reason to worry though." Feliss told the blushing bride.
"Okay are you sure?" Tempest asked.
"I'm positive," Feliss said confidently.
"Okay, okay I will try to calm down," She said.
"Good," Isabella and Feliss both said and Tempest just nodded.
A while later, Adam was standing at the alter still nervous as all heck but trying his best to hide it. He stood at the alter waiting for the bridal march to start. The bridal party came up in red and grey attire then came Tempest. Adam was stunned when he saw her, it was like she was moving in slow motion to say she was stunning did not do her justice.
As he watched her make her way to the alter, he wondered even more than before how he is even close to worthy of her. She stopped in front of him smiling though secretly she too was wondering how she deserved him.
They didn't look away from each other's eyes as the preacher went the the 'dearly beloved, we are gathered here today' portion.
Then they moved on to the vows still looking into each other's eyes
"Adam, do you have Tempest to be thy lawfully wedded wife, to live together in marriage? To love, comfort, and honor, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, so long as you both shall live?"
"I do," Adam said smiling
"Tempest, do you have Adam to be thy lawfully wedded husband, to live together in marriage? To love, comfort, and honor, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, so long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Tempest said smiling not looking away.
"Are there any objections as to why these two should not be wed?" The preacher asked.
For the first time since she came into the room, Tempest broke her gaze from Adam looking at her mother, if there was one; it would certainly come from her. She was surprised when her mother just smiled on.
"In that case, who has the rings?" The preacher asked.
"I do," Feliss and Isabella both said.
They handed over the rings smiling widely. They slid the rings on each other both blushing.
"By the power vested in me by the state of California, I now produce you man and wife, you may now kiss the bride."
Adam leaned in and kissed her. He pulled her in close kissing her harder than he ever had before but fairly briefly before picking her up bridal style.
Tempest giggled happily at that. "I love you," She said.
"I love you, too, Tempest." Adam said, "I'm not sure how I deserve you though."
"I'm not sure how I deserve you," Tempest said.
"Don't be silly, you're the most amazing girl in the world." Adam corrected.
"Says you," She said smiling.
"Say everyone who knows you." Adam corrected.
"If you say so," She said.
"We have a reception to go to though." She reminded.
"Right let's go," Adam said.
He carried her to the room where the reception is being held. It was decorated in red and grey and a beautiful buffet. "It's perfect." Tempest awed snuggling into him.
"Glad you like it," Isabella said.
"Of course we do, you're the best wedding planner ever."
"Well I try," Isabella said.
"You succeeded." Tempest and Adam both said.
She smiled blushing.
"Do you want me to put you down or keep carrying you?" Adam asked his new wife.
"Uh, keep carrying me for a while at least until the first dance," She said.
"Alright, no complaints there," Adam said holding her close. She smiled kissing him lightly as they headed off to get food. They both managed to dish up their plates and sat down at the bridal table Adam still holding Tempest.
"Are you ever going to let her go now?" Isabella asked smiling.
"Never," Adam hissed jokingly holding her close.
"Good," Isabella said smiling
"I have to protect her. I promised her brother I would."
"You did?" Isabella asked not having been there.
"He asked me to right before he died."
"Oh, okay" Isabella said wanting to keep the mood happy.
"Sorry," He apologized to both of them for bringing it up.
"It's no trouble, I think he would have liked you," Tempest said.
"You really think so?" He asked her.
"Yeah, you have proven how driven you are, I think that would have won him over in the end. He already respected you for your skills," She said.
"Well, that's good to know then." Adam said smiling wider.
"Yeah, so don't worry," Tempest said.
By then, the party was starting to get into a good swing. "Now then ladies and gentlemen it's time for the first dance," Phineas said since he was DJ.
Adam got up setting Tempest down and they made their way to the dance floor. The song 'At Last' began to play as they started to dance. She really did enjoy just holding him close like that and just moving along with the music. "I could get used to this," She said
"Good, so can I." Adam said pulling her closer as she leaned against his chest.
After a few more dances, Phineas called the daddy/daughter dance and Tempest just sighed and went back to the bridal table watchin as all the other girls pulled their fathers to the dance floor.
Then the doors opened and there, stood a man with dark jet black hair and grassy green eyes. Tempest saw Adam, Isabella, and Vivian's jaws all drop.
"What's…?" Tempest puzzled.
"Dad?" Adam asked.
The man nodded, "Congratulations Son."
"You're dead," Adam said.
"I know this is shocking but I can explain." He said.
"You had better!" Adam said.
"See I was and still am a part of secret organization that monitors both dimensions. Recently Doofenshmertz had taken to targeting families so a few of us had to fake out demise or risk your safety of course you still got roped into all of it," He sighed.
"You can't just fake your own death though. Do you even realize the state I was in for a long time after I thought you were dead?"
"Yes I do, and I am sorry, but do you realize the state you would have been in if I had not?" He asked
"I would have done fine. I've been doing fine now, haven't I?"
"I realize that now, but I did not think you would be okay back then, I was wrong," He said regretting his own actions.
"Why did you wait so much longer till my WEDDING DAY to tell me then?!" Adam asked angrily.
"Because I have been busy trying to make sure I exist again," He said.
Adam didn't say anything farther and just angrily went back to his bride.
"So that's your dad?" Tempest asked.
Adam sighed and nodded, "Don't you think you were a little rough on him?" Tempest asked. "He was only trying to protect you. It didn't do any good, at least he was trying.
"Well, maybe, but he faked his own death and never stepped in when I could have used him," Adam said.
"Well... I guess that's true..." Tempest said hesitantly.
"You still think I should forgive him though don't you?" Adam asked.
"Well, I think so but in this case it doesn't matter what I think." Tempest said, "It's your decision."
"It does matter, your my wife now, my life is yours and vice versa," Adam said as Isabella still shocked went to dance with her father.
"It looks like Isabella does," Tempest said watching that.
"Well she never knew him," Adam sighed watching them dance.
"Does that really matter?" Tempest asked with a sigh for a different reason.
"What's wrong?" Adam asked her.
"Nothing," Tempest said but it was a clear lie.
"Tempest, what's wrong?" Adam asked.
"All the other girls are up there dancing with their dads so happily," Tempest sighed watching them with envy.
"Well, I guess you could go dance with dad," Adam said.
"I don't want to intrude with him and Isabella though."
"He's your dad now too," Adam said.
"Well, I guess," She said getting up though slightly hesitant.
"Go," Adam encouraged her.
She took a deep breath and headed over to them. "Excuse me can I borrow him?" She asked
Isabella smiled and stepped aside, "Of course, Tempest, he's your dad now, too."
"Thank you," She said taking Sergio's hand.
"So, you're my new daughter-in-law?"
"Yes I am," She said.
"Well, it is very nice to meet you."
"You too, you know my husband is mad at you?" She said.
"I know. I'll try to find a way to make it up to him though." He said.
"Can you?" She asked.
"I'm not sure." He sighed.
"Well, he's not too mad he let me dance with you," She said.
"In fact, he encouraged it." She added.
"He did?" Sergio asked.
"Yeah, I was really sad seeing all the other girls dancing with their fathers so he suggested it since your my dad now, too."
"Well I'm flattered to be your father,"
"Thank you, Daddy." She said for the first time in her life smiling as the father/daughter dance ended.
"My pleasure," He said. She hesitated for a second but gave him a hug. "Thank you," He said hugging her back.
"You're welcome, you don't care who my family is though?"
"Well, no not really," He said.
"Thank you, I can assure you that I am nothing like my birth father."
"Well I have seen what you have been doing and I can tell that's the truth," He said.
"Thank you, Daddy. That really does mean a lot."
"Anything for my daughter," He said.
"You remind me of my brother; except you're not evil… or dead."
"Really?" He asked.
"Yeah, for most of my life he was the only family I had and he was always really nice and always there for me."
He smiled, "He was what I should have been for Adam," Sergio said.
"Yeah, I don't think that means he shouldn't give you a second chance though, especially since you're willing to admit what you need to do."
"You think you could tell him that?" Sergio asked.
"I will," Tempest nodded before heading back to her husband.
"Well?" Adam asked.
"That really did help." Tempest said with a smile, "You really should give him another chance though. He really does want to make things right."
"Does he?" Adam asked hopefully.
"Yes he does, he wants to be able to be nice and always be there for you even though he couldn't before. He just needs the chance. I have to go throw some flowers in the air but think that over." Tempest said grabbing the bouquet knowing that was coming up in only seconds.
Adam did think it over as he watched his wife turn her back to the other girls. She threw the bouquet over her head as he pondered it.
It flew right through the air landing in Charlene's hands, Tempest looked back and smiled seeing that, "Hey Mom, don't screw it up this time."
"I'll try not to," She said smiling.
That certainly got Adam thinking in the right direction; with her first marriage Charlene pretty much made the biggest mistake possible but with a second chance she'll really try to get a good man and likely succeed with someone she's very happy with. 'Well, one more chance.'He thought realizing it's what had to be done. He walked over to his dad, "Hey dad?" He asked. He turned to him hopefully but also rather nervous. "Maybe, you deserve one more chance," Adam said.
"Really?" He asked hopefully.
"Yeah, I mean you are my dad," Adam said.
"Thank you, Son. I promise I'll make sure you don't regret it."
"I hope not," Adam said.
"I'll do everything I can to make sure." He promised, "You're up though."
"What?" Adam asked confused.
"The Garter Toss,"
"Oh! Right," Adam said blushing.
She hesitantly gave his dad a quick hug before heading back to his wife who sat on a chair in the middle of the dance floor blushing. He went over to her and knelt in front of her holding his hands behind his back. She blushed even more and was hesitant but lifted up the bottom of her dress considering what they'll inevitably be doing tonight.
Sergio was pleasantly surprised to see how badly she was blushing as seeing as that pretty much means she's a virgin. Aptly named a blushing bride, glad they had actually decided to wait he muttered, "Well, don't see many of those now days."
Adam came out from under her dress with the garter in his mouth and a pleased looking, but still blushing Tempest still in the chair. He took the garter out of his mouth and Tempest blind folded him and turned him around a few times before facing him towards the boys.
Adam stumbled, but threw it into the group.
The garter flew into the hands of Mr. Daniels. Feliss giggled at her dad's expression "Looks like everyone's getting a second chance today." Feliss noted with a smile.
"Yeah," Isabella said taking her hand. Feliss turned to the side pulling her girlfriend into a kiss. Isabella smiled into the kiss wrapping her arms around Feliss.
That night, Adam and Tempest were up in the bedroom but Tempest was still nervous as hell and blushing way worse than with the garter.
"Are you alright?" Adam asked.
"I'm just really nervous about this." Tempest sighed.
"So am I," Adam admitted.
"You are?" Tempest asked surprised at that.
"Of course I am," He said.
"Why? Haven't you done this before with any of your previous girlfriends?"
"No, I have not you'll be my first and only," Adam said.
"Really?" She asked honestly surprised at that.
"Really," Adam said.
"I'm not even sure how to do this, I mean; I know the basics of what sex is but not how to get up to and through that point without seeming just like animals only trying to reproduce." Tempest admitted.
"Again me either," Adam said.
"Well, this just got about a million times more awkward then." Tempest noted.
"Yeah, but I think I know how to start," Adam said before leaning in and kissing her.
Now back in the familiar, Tempest kissed him back passionately and they fell backwards onto the bed. They landed with her on top of him as his hands slid down her sides.
