Someone Cares ch. 21
Over the 2 ½ weeks Nico and Naruto have been working on their robot for the up and coming Battle of the Robots. They have been hard at work and were almost done with it. They just need to out on the finishing touches on it. The pair worked on it mostly during their Robotics class and late after school cause they want it to be good.
They want to win the Battle of the Robots because the winners get a full scholarship to Kohona's Institute of Technology. The duo really to wanted to win for different reasons. Naruto wants the scholarship because he wants to work for NASA one day and Nico wants the opportunity to want she loves, working with technology. They both are determined to win this war and their robot will lead them there.
It's a small robot in the shape of Squirtle. Naruto didn't want to robot to look a freaking Pokemon but Nico won the coin toss and got to choose what the robot looks like. The blonde was checking to see if the robot was running properly while Nico was screwing in the screw on the remote. Something was bother the brunette for a couple days and needed to ask.
"Hey Naruto" Nico said tightening a screw.
"Yea, what's up?"
"You love Hinata, right?" Nico asked looking up from the remote.
"Of course, I do" Naruto said looking up Nico.
"You're going to treat her right, aight?"
Naruto knows why Nico is asking him these questions. It was no secret that the brunette is very protective of Hinata, almost to the point of where she could be a bit overprotective. The blonde knows that Nico's heart and intentions are in the right place. She just wants the best for Hinata and he's the same way with Kylie. Naruto wants where she's coming from.
"No worries Nico, I'll treat Hinata with the love and respect that she deserves. Believe it" Naruto said holding his fist.
Nico smiles a little before bumping her fist with Naruto's. Hearing what the blonde had said had put her mind at ease. She wants to make sure that Naruto wasn't going to end up breaking her heart at some point down the road. Nico tighten in the last screw on the remote and hand it to Naruto.
"Want to do the honors, partner?" Nico asked smiling.
"I would love to, partner" Naruto said taking the remote.
He flipped the switch on mechanical Squirtle and he came to life. Nico and Naruto smiled as they high-fived each other. All their hard work is going to pay tomorrow and they're ready to kick some major butts. They decided that Naruto was going to take Squirtle home and Nico was going to drive them to the Battle of the Robots since she actually has a car.
The two went their separate ways. Naruto walked home to find Kyuubi and Itachi on the couch, trying to suck each other's faces off. Naruto was trying not to physically gag at the display of affections but it was hard. How would you feel if you say your brother and your sister in law on the couch getting hot and heavy? It's disturbing and something that Naruto didn't want to see.
"Why couldn't you go on your honeymoon like normal married people?" Naruto asked groaning.
"Because we don't anyone to watch you, Sasuke, Kylie while we're gone if we did decide to go on our honeymoon" Itachi said breaking away form Kyuubi long enough to answer.
"Guys, I'm almost 18 years old and I'm pretty sure that I can watch her. As for the teme… well we could always tie him up and throw him the closet until you get back" Naruto said grabbing a bottle of apple juice.
"I don't know, Naruto… wait, why would tie up Sasuke?" Kyuubi asked raising an eyebrow.
"Knowing my brother, he throw a huge party while we were gone and the place will be completely trashed. He will not remember what happen because he'll block out" Itachi said shaking her head.
"Really? That's horrible" Kyuubi said frowning.
"And that's I'm saying that we tie up so it won't happen. Guys, I can handle" Naruto said taking a sip from his juice.
"What do you think, babe?" Kyuubi asked looking at Itachi.
"Are you sure that you can handle this, Naruto-kun?" Itachi asked unsure.
Naruto nodded and it was decided. Itachi and Kyuubi are going on their honeymoon after all. Itachi called her travel agent to booked them a room in a hotel in Hawaii and Kyuubi started packing. The brunette ended her call after 5 minutes and turns to the blonde.
"Thanks Naruto-kun" Itachi said kissing him on the forehead.
"No problem, Nee-chan" Naruto said smiling.
Naruto wanted Itachi and Kyuubi to have their honeymoon so they have as much privacy to married people stuff without being interrupted. The blonde walked into his room and decides to text Hinata.
Naruto: Hey Hina-chan, what r u doin'?
Hinata: Talkin 2 my handsome boyfriend ;)
Naruto: ^/^ T-Thanks beautiful
Hinata: What are you doing?
Naruto: Workin on the robot for the Battle of the Robots and talkin to u
Hinata: Are you nervous about tomorrow?
Naruto: No, I'm not nervous. I know that I got Nico to back me up and you to support me J
Hinata: I'll always be there to support you J
Naruto: Thanks, Hina-chan. I really appreciate it
Hinata: What are girlfriends for
Naruto: To make-out with ;)
Hinata: Naru-chan *smirk*
Naruto: Dammit Hina-chan, you know I hate that nickname L
Hinata: I know but I think it's adorable and there's nothing you can do about it.
Naruto: Jerk :P
Hinata: *pout* I'm not a jerk, I'm your girlfriend
Naruto: Lol I know that but you can be a jerk sometimes
Hinata: Whatever you say, Naru-chan
Naruto: Evil
Hinata: Lol go to bed, mister. You have a Battle of the Robots to win tomorrow and you're gonna need your rest.
Naruto: Yes, ma'am. Goodnight Hinata-chan
Hinata: Goodnight Naruto-kun
Naruto smiled down at Hinata's text. He feels really lucky to have Hinata in his life. He doesn't know what he would do if she wasn't there fro him like she has. The door opens to reveal Sasuke and he flops on his bed on his side of the room. Naruto wasn't thrilled about living with the teme and even less thrilled about having to share a room with the guy.
He takes up more time in the bathroom in the morning than a girl would. What the hell is this guy? Naruto was starting to think that Sasuke is a girl in guys' clothes. He has a feminine face and has curves like a woman. Naruto just ignores him… or least tries to anyways.
"Hey Dobe, where are Itachi and your brother going?" Sasuke asked looking at the blonde.
"They're going on their honeymoon. I convinced them that they should go" Naruto said stretching a little.
"Way to go, dobe. We got the place all to yourselves and it's time to party" Sasuke said smirking.
"No teme, we're not having a party here. They trust me not to let you trust the apartment and I'm not going to destroy that trust" Naruto said frowning.
"Dammit Dobe, would you stop being such a stick in the mud?!" Sasuke said annoyed.
"I'm not and irresponsible like you" Naruto said annoyed.
"Calling people and there's nothing that you can do about it" Sasuke said picking up his phone.
Naruto has had it with Sasuke and his superior complex. He wasn't going to take it anymore. Naruto grabbed Sasuke by his shoulder and turned him around. The blonde hit the brunette hard enough to knock him unconscious for the second time. Naruto grabbed some rope Kyuubi's room and tied up Sasuke before throwing him in the closet.
He dusted his hand before changing into a t-shirt and shorts. He slept peacefully that night, knowing that he got the down on Sasuke once again. Naruto was woken up by the beep of his phone, signaling that he got a text message. He opened it to see that it's Nico.
Nico: Hey, I'm on my way to your house. Be ready in 20 minutes.
Naruto: Okay.
Naruto got up and walked to his closet. Sasuke was still tied and had duct tape around his mouth to keep him quiet. Naruto pulled out his closet that he wanted to wear and decided on a black long sleeve shirt with a white t-shirt over and jeans. He slips on his shoes and walks into the kitchen to grab an apple. Naruto bites into the apple when Kylie walks in and she was already dressed.
"Hey Shorty, ready to see your brother win?" Naruto asked with a mouth full of apple.
"Heck yea, I wanna see flying robot parts" Kylie said grinning.
Naruto chuckles a little when his phone starts to vibrate. It was Nico and she was calling him.
"Hey Nico"
"Hey partner, I'm outside"
"Okay, we'll be right out" Naruto said hanging up.
Kylie followed Naruto outside to see that Nico was in her car with Hinata and Ino in the backseat. Kylie got in the backseat along with the other girls and Naruto got in the front. The blond has their robot in his backpack along with the remote control. Nico drove towards the park where the Battle of the Robot was being held at. Hinata and Ino were gushing over Kylie who getting really annoyed all the unwanted attention from the older girls.
Nico and Naruto were chuckling silently to themselves. Kylie is an adorable kid whether she likes it or not. Nico parked the car and the duo signed up. There were a lot students with their robot and they're ready to compete.
"Look at all the easy pickings" Nico said sinisterly.
"I'm starting to think that you're hanging around Anko-sensei a little too long" Ino said uneasy.
Nico just shrugs. Round 1 was about start and they were up against two nerdy looking guys were their huge robot with a guillotine like claw in the front. Naruto took over the controls for squirtle and the referee let them start. Naruto had Squirtle avoid the claw which was easy since it's slow and he has speed on his speed. The squirtle had a built in water gun and spread the other robot, making it to short-circuit.
The match goes to Naruto and Nico. The duo took turns taking control which the other gives advices. Hinata, Ino and Kylie was cheering them on which is always helpful. After an hour of fighting, it was down to the last two standing Nico and Naruto vs. Dosu and Zaku. Their robot is pretty good but not enough to beat Squirtle.
"We got this" Naruto said smirking.
"I agree but I still think that we should be careful. We don't know what it's capable of" Nico said looking at their opponents.
Dosu looks like a mummy with all his bandages and Zaku's hair is weird. It defies gravity. Their robot is the Punisher and it looks a bad imitation of the Rock. Nico was taking control for this match.
"Remember if all else fails, use the blue button follow by the red one" Naruto said handing her the remote.
"Okay, I got you partner" Nico said ready to go.
Nico and Zaku stepped forward with their robot and set them on the ground. They backed away when the referee let's them start. Nico was overloaded by the Punisher is a lot faster than she expected and Squirtle spread water on the ground on hopes the Punisher slipping. This wasn't the case when it jumped into the air and landing hard on Squirtle.
Nico was struggling to land a hit as Zaku was going on with the an onslaught. The Punisher grabbed Squirtle by its head and flips it over its shoulder, landing on the back. Zaku had the Punisher rip open Squirtle's belly and pull out some wires and screws.
"Nico! Hit it!"
And that's what Nico did, she hit the blue causing Squirtle to explode along with the Punisher. Zaku and Dosu's mouths dropped to the ground as their robot was nothing but parts now along with Nico and Naruto's robot. Nico pushes the red button and Squirtle instantly rebuilt itself even though its belly was gone.
"Our Winners of the Battle of the Robots: Nico Romano and Naruto Uzumaki" The referee declares.
Nico and Naruto looked at each other and hugged each other. They had won the Battle of the Robots. The girls ran down to them. Each of the girl kiss their lovers with Kylie just high-fived.
"Hey Hinata-chan, can I ask you something?" Naruto asked nervously.
"What is it, Naruto-kun?" Hinata asked. "I was… wondering if you would… go to the prom… with me?" Naruto asked rubbing his neck.
"I would love to" Hinata said smiling.
