Chapter 21: Another Opponent! 3rd of the Divine 5
Narration: Due to Cinco's maneuver, Yuzen and the others have been trapped within the confinements of the Divine 5's hideout.
"Go!" Cinco shouted as lights on the machine began to glow. In a moat-like trench that lied in the area around the tower a red substance then erupted into the sky.
"W-what is that?" Dodecamon asked while it, Yuzen and the badger-like Digimon looked on in astonishment. The red goo-like substance enveloped the entirety of the area around the tower before solidifying into a dome-like shape.
"I see, he really went ahead and did that, huh." Tres muttered while looking at a window while Cuatro noticed Cinco's actions as well as Una motionlessly stared up into the sky.
"What kind of Digimon could have done this?" Yuzen wondered as he looked around and saw that both he and Dodecamon along with the tower had been cut off from the outside. "Even if we do beat those guys, how are we supposed to escape from this?" Dodecamon wondered.
Elsewhere Dynamon and Usami narrowly avoided yet another of StringPuppetLiomon's attacks as Dos looked on while the duo persisted in their attempts at surviving against the overwhelming enemy.
"Dynamon, we have to go all out!" Usami called out to her partner.
"I see, this substance with its density it'd require a great deal of brute force to just create a slight opening but just from observing its movements from before its solidification, brute force alone wouldn't suffice at breaking through this." the badger-like Digimon muttered while knocking on the red wall.
"With this, no one can escape." Cinco sternly announced as on the outskirts of the barrier Venarumon let out a confident grin.
"If something like this was done than Shun and Usami most likely haven't beaten most of those guys yet." Yuzen noted. "This could just be a trap to lure all of us into the tower. The others may be dominating them and they're probably trying to make us all gather together to get blown up or something." Dodecamon suggested. "As much as I'd like to think we'd be winning this easily, I really doubt things would work out that well." the light blue-haired boy stated in response to the rodent-like Digimon.
"Usami, what do you mean by all or nothing? Certainly you can't be thinking of that!?" Dynamon inquired as the duo hid behind rubble while attempting to flee from their opponents.
"Yeah, there's no choice. I know that the consequences for this will be dire but at the very least we can settle this quickly and go help the others." the silver-haired girl whispered.
"Piercing Hunter!" StringPuppetLiomon shouted while launching yet another arrow towards the duo. "Laser Blast!" Dynamon yelled in retaliation while shooting an orange colored beam at the incoming projectile, in the process disrupting its trajectory and causing it to miss the duo entirely.
"You're persistent. The fact you lost to Una in itself should be enough reason for you to just give up this pointless resistance. I have a schedule to keep and after I crush you, I still need to go take care of the rest of you guys." Dos calmly declared to the silver-haired girl.
"Just because I lost to your comrade doesn't mean that I'll lose to you!" Usami retorted.
"You misunderstand, she isn't our comrade. Frankly she's only marginally better than you fools. But enough with that, die." the magenta-haired individual declared as the Enhanced Puppet Digimon attempted to swing its bow at the young girl.
"Usami, get out of the way!" the beaver-like Digimon called out in concern while stepping in front of its opponent. StringPuppetLiomon struck Dynamon with great force, sending it crashing into a wall.
"String Pursuit!" it then declared while extending its arm forward. From its wrists emerged various red colored strings that followed after the downed Dynamon, ensnaring it in the process.
"Dynamon!" Usami called out in dismay. "What will you do now?" Dos wondered while looking on.
"I'll gradually apply more and more force to my hold. Only when you realize the foolishness of your moronic struggle will I grant you the privilege to die." StringPuppetLiomon announced while suffocating the Digivolved being. "I-I can't break free…Their grip is too strong, I can't even transform my hands into blasters!" Dynamon internally expressed. "If we go through with this than we'll be doomed. All of this time we've managed to survive but we can't keep on without breaking that limitation." the beaver-like Digimon begrudgingly expressed to itself as Dos looked on.
"USAMI, DO IT!" the beaver-like Digimon yelled to the silver-haired lass.
"What are you…?" the magenta-haired individual wondered while looking over and noticing Usami pulling out her Digivice.
"Ever since we met Yuzen and the others I thought that we'd be able to rely on them to never have to use this again but that was foolish. There are enemies out there that I can't beat with just a Champion-level evolution, I know that all too well." Usami internally expressed to herself while holding up the device.
"Dynamon, Digivolve!" Usami exclaimed as a radiating silver light emitted from her Digivice. "Another Digivolution?" Dos uttered in bewilderment. Dynamon then began to glow a bright silver color.
"W-what in the world?" StringPuppetLiomon muttered in bewilderment as its grip on the beaver-like Digimon was broken by the force of its Digivolution.
The intense silver light then ceased as Dynamon was nowhere in sight and in its place appeared a new being. The new creature had an eerie resemblance to Dynamon and Blastermon, albeit it now possessed a mostly tangerine color scheme. It had noticeably sharper features now, along with being larger overall in comparison to its previous forms. It now had one black and silver spike on the top of its head. It retained its dark brown eyes and it now had a rosewood colored snout. Its whiskers had increased and length and were now white, with sharp peach colored tips. It also sported a long orange colored strip, which went from its forward all the way up until the tip of its tail. Its midnight colored arms were noticeably bulkier than Blastermon and Dynamon, it possessed tiger and cotton colored strips around its arms, in a pattern reminiscent to that of a cannon. Its legs had grown and become more muscular and it had retained the two clawed toes on each foot along with the three lines from its prior forms, albeit each was of a darker shade than in the earlier forms. Its tail was now longer and bulkier and most noticeably, the newly Digivolved being possessed a large silver cannon on its back that had dark orange colored highlights.
"So you could evolve further? Tch and you had the gall to hold this back until now." StringPuppetLiomon uttered in contempt.
"The signal will be picked up on no matter what but if we could settle this quickly than we may be able to avoid them altogether." Usami thought to herself. "An Ultimate leveled Digimon. There's no way Una could have beaten something like that, so is it possible that they held back just to deceive us when they made their comeback? No there's something off about that." Dos internally expressed to himself in suspicion while looking on at the newly Digivolved being.
"Three moves should be enough to settle this, if we use up too much energy than that'll be bad for us." the beaver-like Digimon thought to itself.
"Go, Cannonmon! Settle this!" Usami called out to the Ultimate level Digimon.
"Burning Blast!" Cannonmon exclaimed. One of its arms transformed into a cannon, which it then aimed at the Enhanced Puppet Digimon. It then fired a powerful red-orange orb of energy at their opponent, which proceeded to strike the DigiFused being and set the entire room ablaze. "I-impossible!" StringPuppetLiomon exclaimed, having taken notable damage from the attack as a fire alarm rang throughout the facility.
"What is that?" Kizkin wondered while he hid in a closet with Kamaimon. "The alarm? Curses, what kind of damage have those ruffians done to my precious tower?" Cinco wondered to himself.
"Tres, report! How has Dos progressed in exterminating the intruders?" the aegean-haired man inquired while speaking into a communicator.
"I'm not sure, he hasn't responded so it's likely that he's still enticed in a battle as we speak." the pale olive-haired individual responded. "Very well leave that task to him, in the meanwhile I insist that you conduct a search to discover the whereabouts of the other pests that have crept into our sanctum." Cinco declared.
"Search them out? With how big this tower is and the fact that our drones have been dispatched it'd take too much time to find anything." Tres stated.
"Figure something out yourself!" Cuatro exclaimed while interrupting the call. "The boy that Dos smuggled this crystal from must be one of the intruders so make sure to catch him and bring him to me." the dijon-haired man added along while adjusting his shades.
"Regardless of what you all do, heed this warning. There will be repercussions in place for your failures, now if you don't mind I have business to attend to." Cinco declared as the call was ended.
"Figure it out myself? That'll be easier than expected." Tres muttered while looking over at the door.
"Explosive Grenade!" Cannonmon shouted while shooting out two large crimson colored orbs of energy, which as its namesake implied seemed reminiscent of grenades. "Ultimate Destructive Cross!" StringPuppetLiomon exclaimed while detaching the crosses on its forearms and melding them together into a cross, much larger in size than the one from PuppetLiomon's prior attacks. The Enhanced Puppet Digimon then threw the projectile towards the incoming blast. The two attacks then collided as an explosion occurred, with such force that the walls of the room that the two teams were in collapsed.
"StringPuppetLiomon is actually struggling against them?" the magenta-haired individual wondered to himself while emerging from the rubble.
"No, he's being overwhelmed by them." Dos gritted his teeth while looking on at the noticeably injured Enhanced Digimon and also seeing the relatively unscathed Cannonmon.
"Our supreme Digimon Fusion. The greatest of all Digivolution styles, overwhelmed by a mere relic of a method? Cinco said, Cinco said that Fusion was the strongest form of them all, those words were absolute. That's why, I'll crush you in the next shot!" Dos declared in a relatively dull tone in spite of the clear disdain in his expression and eyes.
"It's been so long since I used this form, I can barely control the energy output." Cannonmon internally mumbled as Usami nervously shivered.
"…I-it hasn't even been long but." the silver-haired girl held herself as she frightfully shook.
"We finish this now!" StringPuppetLiomon exclaimed while swiftly grabbing its metallic hammer. "You took the words out of my mouth!" Cannonmon exclaimed while crouching down and aiming the cannons on its arms and back towards the Enhanced Puppet Digimon. The strings surrounding StringPuppetLiomon then spiraled around it and began to wrap themselves around the metallic hammer. The DigiFused being firmly planted its feet in the ground, with enough force to cause its very footing to crack from the sheer pressure.
"Judgement Shot: Heavenly Abyss!" the Enhanced Puppet Digimon shouted. It fired its string encased metallic weapon towards the beaver-like Digimon. While flying through the air the strings wrapped around the hammer wildly flew in various directions leaving tracks in every area that they struck.
"Focus, focus, this is it! Star Force Shot!" Cannonmon exclaimed as cackles of energy streamed through its entire body before flowing into its arms.
It then shot out a bright yellow blast from all three of its cannons. The force of the beam was so great that it destroyed the Digivolved being's footing while also pulverizing the Judgement Shot. It then struck StringPuppetLiomon with such force that the entirety of the room blew up from the strength of the attack.
"This can't be how it ends." Dos muttered to himself in awe as the brightness of the beam enveloped the room. The powerful yellow beam then plowed right through the wall, leaving a gaping hole through various walls in the tower. The beam continued forth as it then proceeded to blast right through into the outside of the tower before dissipating.
"W-we won." Usami muttered as StringPuppetLiomon had reverted back into its three components and Dos had lost conscious, with all of them lying in the rubble of the absolutely devastated room.
"We pulled through somehow." Cannonmon panted as it then reverted back into Blastermon while Usami blankly looked on. "Was it worth it though?" the silver-haired girl wondered.
"As long as we settle things and defeat the rest of those guys quickly than we may not have to worry about the consequences of going through with the Ultimate leveled Digivolution." Blastermon responded.
"Come on, we have to hurry. It's only a matter of time before someone else shows up!" the beaver-like Digimon then added along. "Right!" Usami nodded while the duo then departed from the scene, having secured their win against the member of the Divine Five.
On the outskirts of the tower Venarumon placed his palm on the red barrier that refrained him from entering the facility.
"Now!" the badger-like Digimon exclaimed while pressing its claws into the mysterious substance. The sturdy barrier then began to shake violently as the substance began to liquidate and jiggle around. "It'd be a hassle to utilize brute force to get through this barricade but a true warrior overcomes any and all obstacles in their path!" the Animal Digimon exclaimed while manipulating the substance and twirling it around.
"Now, solidify!" Venarumon declared as the red substance then regained its previous density, albeit with there now being a large gateway due to the badger-like Digimon's mysterious abilities.
Elsewhere Kizkin and Kamaimon snuck into what appeared to be the monitor room.
"Alright, like this we'll be able to keep tabs on the others!" Kizkin gleefully exclaimed. "I doubt it!" Kamaimon exclaimed while deflecting an incoming blade with a gust of winds. "Who's there?" Kizkin asked while looking up.
From an elevated platform descended Tres, alongside Quillmon and Stingmon. "Ah, the quill punk!" Kizkin exclaimed in anger while recalling his defeat to the pale olive-haired operative. "Finally I can settle the score with you!" the annoyed dark green-haired boy announced. "Oh, so you survived." Tres nonchalantly responded, ignoring the gang leader's declarations. "I figured that you died back during our last battle but I guess that was careless." the pale olive-haired individual then added along.
"That was your mistake! If you fools actually put in the effort to try and strike us down when we were vulnerable than this little raid would have never happened!" Kamaimon declared, decrying the arrogance of the group.
"Don't you remember how this played out last time? Even if a while has passed it's certainly not enough for you to be able to put up any better of a fight." Quillmon responded.
"Due to the circumstances we'll have to finish you as quickly and painlessly as possible." Stingmon added along.
"We already told you, we were injured before but this time we'll be able to fight to our hearts content!" Kizkin announced. "Oh, is that so? Fortunately for you I held back on you in our previous encounter, it is not as if I fought seriously against a weakened enemy." Tres stated in response.
"Then shut up and get serious. I don't want to hear any excuses from you when we crush you!" Kamaimon retorted.
"First thing's first, were you the ones who defeated Una before? She was fighting against someone before and hasn't reported back so by all means that would be enough of an indicator for me to assume that she was already bested by your group." the pale olive-haired man declared.
"Una? She was incredible but I managed to pull through." Kizkin responded.
"I see, then you should be aware of the strength of the Divine Five. Along with our mastery of combining distinct amounts of Digimon together in accordance to our respective codenames." Tres than added along to the confused dark green-haired individual. "You didn't know, did you?" the pale olive-haired operative inquired. "Una was only a codename? Hah, just as I expected. In other words that means that you fuse together three Digimon for your strongest Digimon Fusion, right?!" Kizkin brashly inquired, attempting to conceal his own ignorance.
"Our codenames refer to the amount of Digimon we merge into our partner Digimon not the overall number of Digimon we use, fool." Tres responded.
"If that's the case than there should be two other Digimon aside from those two." Kamaimon noted.
"We fought you at half of our overall strength, or I should say with a fragment of said half." Quillmon announced. "A fragment of half isn't half at all!" Kizkin exclaimed.
"Reload!" Tres announced as a light shined and from his Fusion Loader appeared two more creatures.
The first was a sword-like Digimon, it had a bronze pommel and seaweed colored hilt and also it had a slate blade with a black cross guard along with two cartoonish yellow eyes on the chappe. The second was an urchin-like Digimon it was moss colored with various spikes protruding everywhere and it had two squinty red eyes.
"Four Digimon? That's not fair!" Kizkin protested.
"Quillmon, Stingmon, Swordmon and Urchinmon, DigiFuse!" Tres announced while his Fusion Loader shined a pale olive and white colored glow along with all of the Digimon.
Stingmon, Swordmon and Urchinmon's bodies all began to break apart into particles of energy, which in turn began to surround Quillmon. The fierce light had then dispersed as a new being stood before Kizkin and Kamaimon.
It was a bipedal porcupine-like Digimon, who bore resemblance to both Quillmon and by extension StingQuillmon. It sported a full body armor reminiscent to Stingmon's exoskeleton, but with a pale olive color scheme with brunette and moss colored spikes protruding from various parts of its body. It also had wine colored eyes, had larger claws and clawed toes, which were covered in spiked armor as well, with its right arm instead carrying a blade in the place of its hand. Finally it had a large spiked tail, with resemblance to a raccoon's tail albeit with spikes similar to Urchinmon's instead. The snake-like insignia also remained in the same location where it previously was on Quillmon's body and was now in the very center of the Digimon's armored chest. Around its wrist the spikes on its armor protruded from its gauntlet-like armor, in a spiral fashion, overall it was noticeably larger than StingQuillmon.
"Kamaimon, Armor Digivolution!" the gang leader yelled in response as his silver egg-like orb began to emit a light blue glow while Kamaimon was encased in a light blue aura while Tres looked on.
"Digi-Armor Energize!" he then shouted while the weasel-like Digimon was fully encased in a bright light. The light had then faded and Kamaimon had Armor Digivolved into Kamanimon.
"That form's different from the one you showed before." Tres noted.
"I don't have the luxury of stockpiling Digimon together but we have our own style of adapting to situations." Kizkin smirked.
"Go, UltimateQuillmon." Tres commanded. "Piercing Quill Spear!" the pale olive-haired man then exclaimed as the spiral spikes around the Enhanced Animal Digimon's arm, grew in mass and engulfed its entire arm, transforming into a massive spear. It then leaped towards the gang leader and his partner.
"Tornado Scythe!" the weasel-like creature cried out as the blade of its scythe shined and it proceeded to be ensnared in a vortex of green winds. It then clashed with its DigiFused adversary. Fierce winds engulfed the area as the two Digimon attempted to overwhelm one another.
"You weren't lying before, this power is incredible." UltimateQuillmon mumbled to its opponent.
"Kamanimon's strength is greater than Kamamon's, you'd be better off trying to shoot us than actually winning this battle." the gang leader arrogantly declared. In response Tres pulled out a gun and attempted to shoot at the dark green-haired before the weapon fell out of his hand due to the force of the winds.
"Wind Needles!" Kamanimon shouted as he pulled back before crossing his arms while multiple acute blades of winds formed in front of him. The Armor Digivolved creature then extended its arms forward and rapidly fired the needles at the Enhanced Animal Digimon. In retaliation the DigiFused being swung the sword on its right arm to deflect some of the needles, albeit it was still struck by some of the other needles.
"Urchin Bomb!" the Enhanced Animal Digimon yelled as it opened up its hand and fired a sea urchin-like projectile at the weasel-like Digimon.
"Tch, get out of the way!" Kamanimon exclaimed while jumping towards Kizkin. The projectile then stuck itself against the wall due to its spikes before detonating. As a result an explosion ensured that destroyed the room that the two sides were in.
"What are those idiots doing!? Do they want to bring down the entire tower?" Cuatro wondered in annoyance while Cinco ignorantly overlooked the ruckus.
"Man, this place is a mess." Yuzen muttered while he and Dodecamon looked at the hole in the back of the tower. "The front entrance was open you know." Dodecamon mumbled to the sunglasses wearing individual. "That place was probably booby-trapped after they found out about the others sneaking in. We couldn't risk that." Yuzen cynically announced.
"If it wasn't rigged in the first place than I doubt they'd be smart enough to rig it now." the rodent-like Digimon muttered.
"One of the others must have gotten caught up in a battle, that'd explain the mess." Yuzen noted while looking around the devastated area. "Was this Shun or Usami? The singes on these rocks aren't something that could be done with wind but does Dynamon really have the kind of raw power to do this? I can't even see how far into the tower this trail goes." Yuzen noted.
"Alright, Dodecamon, let's go." the light blue-haired individual declared.
"Light blue hair, sunglasses and a rodent of a Digimon, without question, you're the ones." a voice declared to the astonished duo.
"It's been a while since I started but it looks like my hunt for you scum finally paid off." Venarumon grinned while appearing behind of Yuzen and Dodecamon.
"Who are you!?" Dodecamon exclaimed. "I'm Venarumon, Captain of the Digi Kingdom." Venarumon declared while introducing itself to the duo. "Captain?" Dodecamon uttered in astonishment. "Digi Kingdom? How did they find us?" Yuzen wondered.
"WereGarurumon handed me this opportunity, not that I needed much to pursue you criminals." the Animal Digimon declared while grabbing its bisentō. "That guy?" Yuzen muttered to himself while recalling the Digi Kingdom Knight.
"You've caused quite a bit of havoc, haven't you? To have escaped the Digi Prison is something that can't be overlooked. Prepare yourselves." Venarumon announced while swinging its blade at the duo, commencing a battle.
Elsewhere Kamanimon blew away the debris that he and Kizkin had been trapped under as the duo looked over to notice what appeared to be a shield of spikes. The spikes then dispersed as UltimateQuillmon and Tres emerged.
"How reckless, to destroy your own monitoring room." Kamanimon scoffed.
"There wasn't any more need for it. We were having troubles picking up on your activities before because of that blizzard from the battle you had with Una and with the Blood Prison in place it's not like there's anywhere else for you to run to regardless." Tres responded in indifference.
"If there's no problem with wrecking this tower of yours than fine, Drilling Wind Slash!" Kamanimon declared while an orb of spiraling wind appeared at the type of its scythe. The weasel-like Digimon then aimed its scythe at the duo and shot the winds at them.
"Spiking Strike!" UltimateQuillmon exclaimed while both it and Tres avoided the attack, which proceeded to pulverize the wall behind them.
The Enhanced Animal Digimon then proceeded to attempt and skewer the weasel-like Digimon with the spikes on its body. In retaliation Kamanimon avoided the attack and proceeded to attempt and cut down its adversary with its scythe, which was then deflected by UltimateQuillmon's blade.
"What point is there in a scythe if it never works?" Kizkin wondered to himself before ducking a punch for Tres.
"You guys just love playing dirty, don't you?" Kizkin inquired in annoyance. "If the Digimon can battle one another than there is nothing to ban their masters from fighting as well." Tres responded. "True, but it's not my style." Kizkin condescendingly responded while catching the pale olive-haired individual off-guard and leg sweeping him, causing him to fall over. "But if that gets rid of one nuisance than fine!" the gang leader declared while throwing a punch as Tres avoided his fist and attempted to kick him, only for the kick to be blocked as Kizkin then proceeded to toss the pale olive-haired individual across the room.
"Tch, you aren't even trying." Kizkin grumbled. "Nope." Tres responded while grabbing the gun from the rubble and shooting at him.
"Look out!" Dodecamon exclaimed as both it and Yuzen avoided Venarumon's bisentō slash, which proceeded to cleave the part of the ground that it had struck through with relative ease.
"He's dangerous. What's with that weapon?" Dodecamon wondered. "There's no point thinking about it. We have to fight seriously. Dodecamon, Divinity Digivolve!" the sunglasses wearing individual exclaimed as a red orange glow covered both his Digivice and Dodecamon. Dodecamon had then Digivolved into Flame Dodecamon as it prepared to battle against the Animal Digimon.
"Divinity Digivolution? What a pretentious name, god wouldn't dare and bestow power to such vermin." Venarumon declared.
"We don't come up with the names for these things, Explosive Wave!" the rodent-like Digimon exclaimed while waving its tail in the direction of the Animal Digimon. In retaliation Venarumon protected itself against the attack by shielding itself with its arms.
"Darn it, it barely did anything. How about you try this on for size, Destructive Flameshot!" the Divinity Digivolved being shouted.
It then shot out a stream of red flames at the Captain of the Digi Kingdom. In response the Animal Digimon jammed its fist into the ground as an explosion ensued. As the smoke cleared Venarumon was crouching on the ground with its fist in the air as the ground in front of it was suspiciously devastated while the badger-like Digimon itself was unharmed.
"What in the world?" Yuzen muttered in astonishment. "How didn't Destructive Flameshot even faze that guy?" Flame Dodecamon mumbled in bewilderment.
"Your raw power is incredible, I can see why you guys managed to find a way out of the Digi Prison." Venarumon declared with a mildly impressed tone. "He's mocking us." Yuzen gritted his teeth while looking on.
"If those attacks won't work than try this on for size! Explosive Burning Shot!" the Divinity Digivolved being exclaimed.
Its arms were engulfed in flames and it wildly flung them, releasing two swirling blasts of golden flames towards the Animal Digimon. In retaliation Venarumon threw up a silver ball that it then proceeded to crush with its palms right as the flames hit it. The force of the attack sent out a massive shockwave as an explosion ensured but yet again Venarumon emerged unscathed, to the disbelief of both Yuzen and Flame Dodecamon.
"What the hell is going on? Even Explosive Burning Shot didn't work?" Yuzen inquired in astonishment.
"There's something off with this guy. When our attacks didn't work before it was because our opponents overpowered or avoided them completely but this guy, he keeps doing something before each attack and then he just comes out of each attack without even any signs of a struggle." the Divinity Digivolved being internally expressed in frustration at what was occurring.
"You don't realize it yet, I've been using my ability from the very beginning." Venarumon thought to itself as the ground around him was in ruins due to persistent attacks of the rodent-like Digimon.
"Whatever this guy's deal is, I'm sure of it now. Long range moves won't work on him!" Yuzen declared.
"So that's the conclusion that you've arrived at after our brief exchange, boy?" the Animal Digimon queried to the light blue-haired boy, much to his annoyance.
"If ranged attacks won't work than let's see how this goes. Fire Body!" Flame Dodecamon exclaimed while being engulfed in red flames. The Divinity Digivolved being then charged at the Captain, who simply remained in place. "If that's the conclusion that you've arrived at than it's only a sign of how naïve you are!" Venarumon declared while blocking Flame Dodecamon's kick.
"This guy." the rodent-like Digimon muttered in annoyance.
Flame Dodecamon rapidly struck at the Animal Digimon repeatedly as its attacks were either dodged or blocked altogether.
"Don't back down, he's got to have a weakness!" Yuzen called out to his partner. "I know!" Flame Dodecamon retorted while landing a kick on the badger-like Digimon before upper cutting it and then striking it in the gut once more. The Divinity Digivolved being proceeded to grab the badger-like Digimon's face.
"Let's see how well you block against a close range Destructive Flameshot!" Flame Dodecamon announced as its arm began to glow.
In retaliation Venarumon stomped on the ground and kicked upwards. In response a column of rock appeared and struck Flame Dodecamon in the gut, sending it flying. "What!?" a wide eyed Yuzen uttered in disbelief as the Divinity Digivolved Digimon fell to the floor. "How did he?" Flame Dodecamon wondered as Venarumon proceeded to stomp on its back, trapping it.
"You have guts and a lot of skill for someone who until just recently was nothing more than an unknown punk. That's exactly why you have to be stopped here." the Animal Digimon proclaimed while holding out his bisentō and smashing it into the ground while Flame Dodecamon attempted to escape from the force of Venarumon's hold.
"This is bad, even with just the bottom of his foot he's been able to keep Dodecamon in place." Yuzen thought to himself while holding out his Digivice.
"Flame Form won't work at this rate. If that's the case than Dodecamon…" before the light blue-haired boy could even call out a command Venarumon proceeded to slash at him, sending a pillar of dirt rushing towards him, causing Yuzen to jump out of the way and in the process dropping his Digivice.
"Darn it, not again!" Yuzen cursed after seeing that he dropped the device. Venarumon in response stomped on Flame Dodecamon and used his body as a launching point to jump up into the air.
"Without that Digivice you two are hopeless!" the Animal Digimon declared while jumping towards the sunglasses wearing trainer. "Crap." Yuzen uttered in dismay while attempting to retrieve the Digivice.
Before the badger-like Digimon could reach the sunglasses wearing individual, Flame Dodecamon had managed to strike Venarumon in midair with a powerful Destructive Flameshot.
"T-that'll show you." Flame Dodecamon spitefully uttered in response to Venarumon's use of him as a launching platform. With the opening created for him Yuzen proceeded to retrieve his fallen Digivice as Venarumon emerged from the smoke.
"Quill Shot!" UltimateQuillmon shouted as it fired various quills at its opponent. "Wind Shield!" Kamanimon waved its arms around and created a spiraling shield of wing that managed to alter the trajectory of the quills, sending them crashing into the various parts of the area, leaving clear holes in the locations where the quills had landed.
"Just like before." Tres noted.
"Damn him, that coward. If only I remembered to bring a weapon." Kizkin cursed while hiding behind rubble. "But still, this is good. Kamanimon is more than a match for those guys. If we keep this up than we'll manage to take down another one of the Divine Five. Though I wonder how strong the other three are, if their codenames act as a representation of their level of mastery of Digimon Fusion that means that the strongest by that naming order would be….Oh crap!" the dark green-haired individual exclaimed while avoiding a stray quill, his thought process being disrupted as a result.
"Drilling Breath!" the Armor Digivolved being exclaimed while taking in a deep breath and it then exhaled a powerful gust of drilling winds at its opponent.
"Advanced Needle Body!" UltimateQuillmon exclaimed in retaliation. The spikes and quills all throughout its body became more pronounced and increased in both length and volume as the Enhanced Animal Digimon avoided the powerful attack and rushed towards the weasel-like Digimon.
"Damn it, get back you quilled freak!" Kamanimon expressed in annoyance. "Spiral Slash!" it then called out while attacking the incoming DigiFused Digimon, creating distance between the two.
"With that speed we wouldn't do much good in a close range fight, especially when we traded away our excess speed for more power when using this over the Kamamon form." Kamanimon internally mumbled to itself.
"Vanish, Silver Tornado!" the Armor Digivolved being yelled while holding its scythe out before rotating around rapidly. Kamanimon's armor began to shine and appeared to have increased in mass as a powerful gust of wind enshrouded the armored Digimon. "Defense Form: Quill Shield!" UltimateQuillmon shouted as it used the quills on its body to then create a shield of spikes to protect itself from the attack.
"They really weren't weak at all." Tres sternly muttered as the fierce winds engulfed the entire area.
"What? My Quill Shield won't work? Those guys, what kind of strength do they have?" the Enhanced Animal Digimon wondered as it was sent flying by the attack. "This can't be, we were pushed back?" Stingmon wondered in UltimateQuillmon's subconscious. "No, we may be struggling but they won't be able to stop us!" UltimateQuillmon protested at the thought of being defeated.
"Going by your naming scheme I suppose that you're supposed to be stronger than that Una girl and whoever the guy that fuses two extra Digimon is called, right?" Kizkin inquired to the pale olive-haired man.
"I am stronger than them, in the hierarchy I fall behind only my older brothers Cuatro and Cinco and even then only just barely." Tres responded.
"I see. So then why is it that Una is stronger than you?" Kizkin mockingly inquired in response as Tres only shot at him in retaliation with the bullet being deflected by Kamanimon's blade.
"What are you talking about?" Tres inquired in response. "Quite frankly she was more of a challenge to me than you are and given that I've been using the same form that I used in that battle, I'd say it's a pretty good indicator of what the actual hierarchy is, huh? I suppose in the end that regardless of what you think, you're actually just fourth rate instead of third." the gang leader announced as Tres remained silent.
"So the fantasist strikes again? You never know when to shut that mouth of yours, do you?" the pale olive-haired individual inquired in response.
"Who knows? Though if I went ahead and lost to the same guy twice than I'd have no other choice other than to stop talking, wouldn't I?" Kizkin responded.
"You die the moment that you lose this battle so I'd agree with you there." Tres declared.
"Mini Needles!" UltimateQuillmon shouted as it fired dozens of miniature needles from its fingertips at the duo. In response Kamanimon deflected the needles with a gust of winds. "Ultimate Needle Lance!" UltimateQuillmon declared as its right arm was covered in quills and turned into a giant needle.
"Man, are you annoying." Kamanimon uttered in annoyance while avoiding the Enhanced Animal Digimon.
"You said before that you had comrades waiting for you but don't worry, after I kill you I'll ensure that your loyal followers join you." Tres announced as Kizkin glared at him in an uncharacteristically intense manner in response. "If you even dare to lay a hand on any of my subordinates, I'll absolute crush you!" Kizkin declared.
"Kamanimon, we can't afford to waste time anymore! Let's settle this!" the dark green-haired individual announced to the weasel-like Digimon.
"So that's what it takes for you to get serious?" Kamanimon wondered to itself in amusement at its partner's change of attitude.
"What? The Blood Prison was breached?" Cinco inquired in astonishment while talking to a silhouette. "Coagulamon your ability is perfect, no one should be able to breach it! CURSES!" Cinco yelled in anger. "Cuatro, are you there?" the aegean-haired man shouted into a communicator. "What is it? I'm in the middle of something." Cuatro asked in annoyance. "Someone's breached the Blood Prison, I need you to go out there and deal with the rapscallion who had the gall to breach my impeccable barrier!" Cinco yelled.
"You're the one who cares, so why not go yourself?" the dijon-haired man inquired in response.
"Why would I bother to when I, the leader of the Divine Five, have underlings to do the…." before the aegean-haired man could finish, Cuatro hung up the phone on him. "It doesn't matter, I would have gone regardless." Cuatro grinned while grabbing the Divinity Crystal.
As this occurred elsewhere Una walked through a hallway with Zeramon, as she heard a rumbling sound, which came from the direction where she was walking towards.
"I see, so you can change your attribute?" Venarumon muttered as he was pushed back by Speed Dodecamon. "Flame Form won't work on him so we'll need Speed Form to lure out his actual ability." Yuzen declared to himself.
"Your speed won't do a thing, I'll finish this in an instant." Venarumon confidently declared.
Narration: Usami has managed to defeat Dos and now Kizkin and Tres continue their fierce clash against one another as Yuzen finds himself cornered by Venarumon, the Captain from the Digi Kingdom. What kind of battles await as Cuatro of the Divine 5 makes his move?
Major Events (12/2/9996): Dynamon is revealed to possess the ability to Digivolve into a Ultimate leveled form called Cannonmon, which for some reason Usami holds restrains about utilizing.
Usami and Cannonmon continue their battle against Dos and StringPuppetLiomon and are victorious, knocking him out in the process.
Venarumon breaks through the Blood Prison using his unknown ability.
Kizkin and Kamaimon re-encounter Tres, who is revealed to possess a Swordmon and Urchinmon.
Kizkin and Kamanimon start a battle against Tres and UltimateQuillmon.
Venarumon is revealed to be a Captain from the Digi Kingdom.
Yuzen and Dodecamon start a battle against Venarumon.
Cinco orders Cuatro to deal with the perpetrator in the break in through the Blood Prison.
