Another chapter for all of you lovelies, Just so you guys know, when I first started writing this, RWBY was at Season 4. I have shuffled the characters around from that point. Of course If I go on to RWBY Season 5 and 6 I would add in the newly added characters... but they would only be shuffled from 5-6 and not from the first four seasons. As such this fic will only go up to the end of Season 4. On that note enjoy the finale of Season 2: Shuffled Remnant Style.
Jaune Arc strolled toward the bullheads, mulling over the fact that something grave might be happening. It was just a feeling that welled up inside him when he checked his phone that morning. It felt like something was missing.
"Stop being a dead leaf and get a move on, we don't have all day... being late on our first mission." Mercury scoffed.
"You can stand to be a little more supportive, it just might be the nerves you know." Kali scolded.
"I'm pretty sure the only one nervous is him, I'm ready for this." Dew quips.
"Yeah! This mission will be a cake walk." Mercury grins.
"Don't worry about the mission, its okay to make mistakes." Kali reassures Jaune who takes another glance at his phone.
"Sorry guys, I just have this bad feeling thats all... like something is about to..." Jaune stops as a giant pillar of smoke erupted in Vale. Not to long afterward the sound of emergency sirens could be heard blaring both from Vale and from Beacon herself.
"Change of plans, something has happened in Vale and we are to go and stop whatever it is!" Jaune quickly declared. Mercury gave a whoop at the idea of action and he rushed over to the bullheads. Dew rolled her eyes and followed after him alongside Jaune who finally took charge.
From behind the trio Kali just smirks at the sight of her team.
Reese awoke surrounded by rubble. Her dazed mind finally snapping awake as she observed the scene around her.
In the distance she could hear the sound of combat alongside screaming as Grimm rushed past her. Reese took in the scene and then whistled, Hou Skafou riding over to her swiftly, though spluttering along the way.
Reese kicked off and she soared looking for people to help out, and grimm to slay.
After cresting the hill of rubble she took in the scene of chaos before her.
Professor Shiko was busy escorting civilians away from the scene as he shot multiple rounds of dust at the incoming grim, alongside him was Ren also fighting.
Dove was busy cutting apart grim, trying to secure a street while Klein and Amber were busy trying to stop grimm from entering the city via the rubble she just came from.
"Glad to see you're awake!" Amber calls as she blasted a few Creeps with fire dust.
"Welcome back!" Klein swiftly exclaims and he throws his disc to cut the tail off of a Deathstalker that was following behind her.
Reese could only nod before she blasted past them to deal with the grim that had gotten past them.
She reared her hoverboard and had it eject flames from the bottom to roast the Beowolf alive and swerve to avoid the claws of another.
Reese avoided a few more before she lurched to the side as her board, sputtering from damaged parts, finally gave in and powered down, the delay allowed for an Ursa to bat the poor girl, sending both her and the board flying. Reese grimaced from the pain and then screamed further when she collided into a shop, sending both glass and clothing models everywhere.
The Ursa lumbered after her, Reese looking up from her heap of cloth and plastic to see the giant grimm trying to enter the store. Only for a pair of boots to stomp the head, the sound of guns firing and the head being blown right off.
"That was a great landing! And a grimm kill to boot!" A voice cheered and Reese looked at the figure of Mercury Black who was smirking at his success.
"Grimm to kill, grimm to kill!" He chanted and he rushed off, not even offering a hand to help her at all.
Reese groaned and fell backwards. Maybe she could take a nap right now...
Dove watched from his view as several bullheads flew in from Beacon. He observed Mercury Black sommersaulting out of the bullhead to kill an Ursa, alongside team KABJ who landed with ease.
Dew swiftly made some winds, allowing for both Kali and Jaune to swiftly advance forward, meanwhile pushing grimm back from advancing on the street.
Kali made use of her claws to tear grimm apart while Jaune fought head on with his sword and shield.
Team WISH also dropped down. Winter Schnee summoning several white birds to assault the grimm, Henry Marigold taking perimeter and going to help escort while pulling out his pistols. Ilia Amitola using her whip to herd the grimm away from the civilians. Scarlet Davis taking out his cutlass to help everyone as well.
Dove watched as more huntsmen arrived, even a busty blond, an orange-haired girl win a grey-green dress and a giant pink bow, with a boy in overalls.
"Junior Detectives!" Russel Thrush shouted from the top of his lungs, brandishing sun-glasses and a fake mustache and a badge pinned on his chest while his partner stood to the side rolling her eyes, a badge lopsided on her vest, entertaining the notion.
Almost immediately afterwards the area began to be swarmed by Atlesian battleships as drones were dropped into the streets to help fight against the Grimm.
It wasn't long from there for the cleanup to begin with several bots standing guard at the hole as Atlesian enginners started to fix the hole.
Around the plaza, Professors Neo, Shiko and Schnee were busy dispatching the grimm, while Ozpin was tied up and being escorted away.
In the room of the Headmaster, a video call was being made, three figures stared down at the once-renown criminal turned Headmaster and he defiently stared back at them.
"We are disappointed in your lack of security! Today, Vale has meet with a devastating crisis and if it wasn't for the forces of the Atlesian Military, we would have seen untold casualties and devastation in Vale. That being said, we cannot allow you to host the Vytal festival if we cannot guarentee the safety of the citizens... as such we have talked with the Council of Atlas and have decided that General Tukson will takeover for the duration of the event, and we will be having a talk about your position you criminal!" the Councilmen reprimended.
"I'll put everything into the security of this event, you can count on me." General Tukson exclaims and the videofeed with the council went dead.
"I tried my best to get you a lighter sentence... they wanted to imprision you as they believed that you allowed this to happen." General Tukson scowls.
Roman Torchwick scoffs at the notion and lights a cigar. "You know we both turned over a new leaf, its just my own carelessness that things got to this point... being a person who went to breaking the rules to following them... its my fault for not adjusting in time." Roman grimaces and looks at his cigar as if it wasn't up to his standards.
"The situation isn't looking to good, if anything happens during the festival you might be held accountable for it, especially if it is found that someone from Beacon has acted in a hostile or illegal manner."
"I can only do my best to make sure everything goes according to plan, I just don't like whats to come..."
"I'll do all I can to help, I wish you luck Torchwick." General Tukson told and Roman raised his cigar. "And you the same you bear."
Roman watched as the screen went dark and his face instantly sours. "Fuck!"
Team DARRK meets up on a balcony overlooking Vale.
Reese leaning against Dove, Klein preparing tea to be drunk while Amber laid on the ground, her feet dangling over the edge of the cliff. Ren was also there, he was just ignored by almost everyone there.
"I think we did great today! I just curse that trumpet guy for blasting me away and making my plans futile!" Dove scowled.
Reese patted her boyfriend on the back and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Its okay, at least you weren't out of it like I was... I don't even remember the train ride, let alone I was knocked out almost immediately." Reese grimaced and looked downcast at her failure.
Klein handed the two of them team, and then moved over toward Ren and Amber. Ren reached out to accept the cup from Klein, only for Klein to move past him and give the cup to Amber before sitting down with his own cup. Ren just took his hand back and sighed. He gazed longingly at the edge of the cliff.
A cup nudged his leg and Ren looked to see Reese giving the cup to him, she already sipping from Dove's cup.
Ren smirked in response and took a good sip, his day infinetly better than before.
"It sucks that we don't know why this happened... what was their plan? Their goal? What do they gain from this?" Dove lamented.
"You and you're plans, just be happen that we did it, we saved Vale." Amber teases.
Dove grunts in response and Klein simply speaks up. "Not everyone ending is good and happy, if it wasn't for that flair of mystery we all wouldn't want to go on.
"At least we know that a dangerous person like Ozpin is behind bars."
The team agreed as they sat and watched the orange sky, tea in hand.
Oscar overlooked the construction that was being undertook at the breached part of Vale. Many military drones patroling for grimm. "The attack was ahead of schedule Friend Oscar." Penny said simply.
"I don't know what Ozpin was doing but is he going senile? To be caught this quickly..." Yang growled.
Oscar laughs, silencing his subordinates. "Even if it was a bit early its all going according to plan. We have Ozpin where we want him to be... and the damage done is good enough for us to proceed to the next step." Oscar reassures them.
"I have counted that we left many White Fang members in the tunnels... will they still listen to us?" Penny asks.
"Oh they wont listen to you bitches anymore. They however will listen to me." A new voice spoke up,
Yang and Penny twirled around, readying their weapons to see a girl in a red dress. Dangerous looking claws adorning her hands as she struts forward.
"Melanie, its so nice to see you again." Oscar
Omake: The Shuffled Arc.
Jaune Arc was just your average everyday boy. He came from a family of 10, where it was him, his mom, his dad, and his seven sisters. Of course with so many sisters around it was hard to get some privacy... not to mention the fact that it would be his first home visit in quite a long time. He was excited to tell them about his team and how he was on team KABJ where a beautiful cat-girl was his team leader. Her not so friendly friend. And his not so friendly partner... the one who taunts him all the time...
Jaune Arc knocked on the door of the Arc Family Manor, a place rewarded to them in an age long ago when his family was more renown as warriors against the grimm threat.
The door immediately opened for his sister to bare her pointed teeth at him. Her scaly exterior and menacing appearance didn't faze him in the least.
"Jaune!" She exclaimed and swiftly pulled him into a soul-crushing hug.
"Tock..." Jaune exclaimed, less enthusiastically hugged his sister back.
"Jaunes here!" Tock called into the household and Jaune could already feel the house trembling as if it was undergoing an earthquake.
The first to reach him was his younger sisters.
"Jaune!" Trifa exclaimed, she tackled him full-on, her face buried into his chest as she rubbed it back and forth as if trying to absorb his scent.
"Hey there sis, you sure are enthusiastic about me returning." Jaune chuckled.
"I was worried you know... when we couldn't find you that one morning we thought someone kidnapped you... I was out with murder in my eyes when we couldn't find you." Trifa cried.
"What she means is that we were worried." Another sister announced, correcting Trifa and pushing her away to get her own hug in. Saffron Arc, the eldest of the seven stood before him.
"When I heard that you were coming back home I just had to come visit. When Mom called me saying that you were missing I was scared that the house would explode... you know how mom is when she is scared..." Saffron lamented.
Jaune gulped, the way she said it... there was more to the story than what she was sharing.
"I hope you're ready for the consquences Jaune… I won't shelter you when the rest come." Saffron gave a pity smile and she moved out of the way as two more people came barreling down the hall and tackled the man to the floor.
"Jaune!" Two voices cried out and Jaune looked toward his two sisters Neon and Ilia Arc.
"You owe us for scaring us like that!" Neon glared.
"What do you think would have happened if we found out you were dead!" Ilia screeched.
"I'm sorry... I just wanted to get into Beacon... that's all."
"Now that you got into Beacon let just quit and we can have you come home and set up the party for us all the time!" Neon offered and Jaune gave her a glare.
"What she means to say is that you should stay home now that you got into Beacon.. Dream fulfilled right!" Ilia countered.
"Hey that isn't what I said!" Neon argued and the two siblings bickered back and forth before they rolled off him in their scuffle.
"Jaune! You're safe!" two voices called and Jaune looked up to see Blake and May Arc. The more quiet and reserved members of the Arc Family. Blake held a book in front of her, as if she was trying to not look at him but he could see her ears perking in his direction. On the other hand May peeked out from her beany.
"May... Blake... glad to see that you are doing okay... how are you both doing?" Jaune asked, picking himself off the floor.
"To loud with everyone trying to find you... couldn't read." Blake grimaced as if she remembered a bad memory.
"I couldn't aim properly... to many distractions." May doubled up.
"Well now that I am here I guess you guys don't have to worry about the noise anymore." Jaune laughed. Oh who was he trying to trick? Now that he was back there would be a lot more noise than before... it was never quiet in the Arc Family household.
The girls parted way as a large man stepped forward. His mane of hair reflected his years and his tail swished back and forth nervously.
"Jaune… you're safe! Oh I know you wanted to be a huntsmen but don't you think going to Beacon was to much? We do have a lovely school here in Haven..." Headmaster Leonardo Arc asked.
"So that you can deny my application? No thanks." Jaune shook his head.
"Jaune.. you know how it is, Your mother worries and we don't want you to pursue such a dangerous lifestyle... speaking of which have you prepared anything for your mother?" He asked.
Jaune realized why he had a foreboding feeling... why today felt like something was going to happen.
Jaune gulped as he looked pasted his father toward the woman steadily approaching them.
For a woman who birthed eight children she still looked as if she was in her prime! Jaune knew many people would have done anything to call her their wife and dad was the lucky man to marry her... but sometimes Jaune cursed his fate as he received one of his mother's signature glares.
Pushing up her glasses and slamming her crop into her hand she gave a subtle smirk and a glare that would kill any grimm under the sun.
"Jaune! Oh how good of you to drop on by... No note, no warning, not even a phone call to let us know you're safe... Do you have any idea how worried I was! HOW WORRIED WE ALL WERE!" his mother screeched. The eight other members of his family had already scattered to the wind as no one would want to be targeted by the wrath of Glynda Arc.
"I can explain!" Jaune cried out, surrendering himself to his mother's will.
"And explain you shall!" Glynda roared.
Jaune flew forward after his mother due to her semblance and they disappeared into the basement, the door locking behind them.
No, these are not Shuffled Remnant Canon, Ilia for one is already on Team WISH lead by Winter Schnee on Beacon Academy. And if it were, then it would be pretty awkward for multiple of his sisters to just be everywhere... who knows maybe I can expand on this setting in an actual story... Or not since my track record for writing seems to suck haha...
