Open Book

Summary: Asami says more than she thinks she does, even when she's silent. Sequel to "Mind Her Manor", enjoy!

Korra noticed a lot about Asami, she could tell when Asami daydreaming or when she was contemplating a heavy decision. Currently they were listening to an advertisement that played between songs on the radio a lot, a Cabbage Corp. spokesperson emphasizing lower costs than Future Industries. Asami looked angry enough to combustionbend the radio apart.

Korra switched the radio off, snapping Asami from her fuming with the sudden silence.

"Huh?" Asami stared blankly, as though someone said something she didn't hear.

"I didn't say anything." Korra said, getting up and sitting next to Asami. It had been a good four years since they met, and so much had happened, their worlds had been thoroughly shaken, stirred, and torn apart, but the other was always there, as though in putting the other one's world back together they used a piece of themselves as cement.

"Oh." Asami muttered.

Asami, Korra decided, was having an internal rant about Cabbage Corp.'s style of doing thing, quantity of quality, cheap over well made, and money over people…except a longer list to fume over, throwing in every error she found in their management, from fenders to wings.

"If people don't care, then the company won't mind…that's the new motto for them, eh?" Korra pressed her shoulder against Asami's winning one smirk.

"Yeah, I just wished they wouldn't say their vehicles are as safe as mine…and the worse thing is that with every lawsuit, they get away with it, simply because safe is relevant, there should be testing…regulations, or something! They can't keep getting away with things!"

"Give the people some time to catch up with the technology, this stuff is still pretty new." Asami nodded.

"I guess…did I look angry just then?"

"Hmm…well, you are pretty expressive at times, in fact, I can probably take guesses as to what you're thinking at any given time."

"Oh…then tell me, darling, just what am I thinking right now?" Asami was smiling like she had an idea…so Korra was pretty sure she had an idea.

"You're going to kiss me."

"Is that an order?"

"No, it's…what you're going to do, right?"

"Nope," Asami leaned forward and whispered, "tickle attack!"

Korra started to laugh even as the words were spoken.

It was kind of obvious that a kiss was imminent, Korra thought as laughed breathlessly, so of course that wasn't the right answer…so maybe she couldn't guess right every time, but who says an open book is written in just one language?

Author's Notes: this is the AU that I mentioned earlier, it's not so much High School AU as regular AU, but I tried…this could actually work for anything. Anyway, I was PMing Maleficent-darkgoodwitch2416 and the topic turned to Asami's very expressive…expressions in "Book Three: Terror in the Night", so that's where this comes from! Seriously, though, I was watching and watching, and noticed her facial expressions changing a lot, oh, and fun fact, she disappears sometime around when Mako announces that it's "Bolin time", I kidst thou not!

Hope you liked this!

KHH out!
