"Come on." Bucky said walking around the car and opening Rayna's door. He offered her his hand to help her out of the vehicle. Rayna shook her head. "Mmm mmm. I will not get out." Bucky crossed his arms. "Rayna, come on." Rayna shook her head again. "No way. If this has anything to do with Juliette than count me out. Marshall should know better."

Bucky raised his hands above his head surrendering to her. "My job was to get you here which I did and I guess I can't force you to do anything you don't want to do." Rayna nodded relaxing back into her seat. "Thank you for respecting my decision Buck. Now let's go home."

Bucky nodded. "Sure, just let me go tell Deacon you won't be joining them." With that said Bucky turned on his heels and walked away. Rayna sat there processing what Bucky just said. When it finally came to her, she was taken back. "Deacon? What?" She blurted out. Bucky kept walking towards the jet.

Rayna climbed out of the car and slammed the door behind her. "Bucky get back here." Rayna hollered as she followed him. He smirked to himself as he kept walking knowing his plan to get her out of the car worked. "Bucky!"

Bucky climbed the steps to the jet followed by Rayna. Deacon and the girls all look up as the two of them enter the jet. "Surprise!" They all shout with big goofy grins on their faces holding up their glasses of Shirley Temples. Rayna plays with her hair in a daze.

"What in the world?" Rayna asks stunned to see them all. She turns her attention back to Bucky looking for answers. Bucky shook his head. "I tried to tell him you hated surprises." Rayna shook her head still trying to process everything. "How? Why? How?" Rayna asked at a loss for words. "How?" She repeated. "You already said that." Daphne smirked. "Marshall? Where's Marshall?" Rayna finally said. "That was a trap to keep you distracted and to get you here." Bucky said smiling at Deacon. "She's all yours." Deacon nodded. "Thanks Buck!" Bucky exited the jet.

Deacon smiled at the confused look on Rayna's face. He knew surprising her was going to be a challenge. He had had so many failed attempts in the past but this time her face was priceless. The confused look on her face was pure surprise. He could see the wheels in her head turning, trying to put the pieces together to see if she could make sense of it all and he thought it was so sexy watching the expression on Rayna's face change as she continued to process it all.

He walked over to her and reached for her hand. "Hey Darlin'." The pilot stuck his head in the cabin. "Is everyone accounted for now Sir?" The pilot asked Deacon. Deacon nodded his head. "Ya'll want to take you're seats now? We're preparing for take-off." Deacon led an anxious Rayna to a nearby seat. "Take off? Deacon? What is going on?"

Daphne fascines her seat belt, sitting up straight and letting her feet swing. "You were about to kill Deacon for plan a surprise for you." Maddie rolled her eyes. "Shut up." Maddie nudged Daphne in the ribs. "Ow!" Daphne reacted. Deacon looks over at Daphne. Daphne shrugs innocently.

He clears his throat nervously. "The girls and I have talked." Deacon starts before Maddie interrupts. "After he bribed us." Deacon gives Maddie a look and she smiles at him sweetly. He laughs. Rayna's eyes light up. "So that's why Juliette was here, it was a bribe. I see." Deacon shakes his head. "Hey, it worked."

Rayna turned her attention to the girls who nodded excitedly. "Okay? So you bribed them, you all talked and?" Deacon takes a deep breath. "And we all have decided you were right it's about time we have our fresh start." Daphne wiggles in her seat. "In our own place which we're going to see tonight on Juliette's jet!"

Rayna's mouth dropped open. "Hold on a second. You bought us a house?" He shook his head. "Not yet but I would like to take my family to a very special place that I think happens to be the perfect fit for all of us to possibly live, if ya'll like it." Rayna smiled at him then looked over at the girls who were also smiling. "What do you think girls? Should we let him show us this place?" Maddie shrugs. "He is very convincing." Daphne slurped her Shirley Temple. "As long as we can get there in this private jet it's fine by me." Daphne says. "Well we won't be able to get there on the jet because it's right here in Nashville but we will be able to fly over it so ya'll can see where it's located and everything." Rayna nods. "Alright I'm in." Deacon grabbed her hand and squeezed it. "Good." He smiled at her.

The girls peer out the windows. Knowing the girls are preoccupied, Rayna snuggles in closer to Deacon placing her hand on his cheek to kiss him. She smiles. "So if we can't get there on the jet, what was the purpose of the jet?" Rayna asked. Deacon laughed. "I have no idea. I just thought if we were in the air you wouldn't be able to say no or escape." Rayna laughed. "Am I that bad to plan a surprise for?" They all nod their heads. "Yes!" They all said in unison.

Maddie throws her hands in the air. "You hate surprises." Daphne nods. "You can normally smell them a mile away so it's never a surprise." Maddie rolls her eyes. "Or maybe it's never a surprise because you have a big mouth!" Daphne shakes her head. "I do not! Mom has a sixth sense!"

"Not this time I didn't. Ya'll got me good." Maddie smiles. "You mean dad got you good." Both the girls turn their attention back to the window. Rayna and Deacon both froze. Rayna placed her chin on Deacon's shoulder, leaning in real close to his ear. "Did you hear that?" Deacon slowly nodded his head. "Yeah." Rayna smiled. "She just called you dad." Deacon smiled. "Must be my bribe worked."

Rayna kissed his cheek and mumbled against his ear. "Good work, Dad." She playfully nudged him with her shoulder. "It's not easy winning these teenagers over."

Deacon shrugged. "I have my ways." Rayna giggled. "And what way would that be? The Claybourne way?" Deacon nodded.

"I can hear you!" Maddie says turning around to face them. "And while we're on the subject have you thought about my name change?" Rayna and Deacon both look at each other.

"Well we discussed it this morning." Maddie sighed. "And?" Rayna bit her lip, looking over at Deacon. "We feel that you're old enough to know what it is you want." Maddie gasped. "Are you serious?" Deacon nodded with a smile. "As long as this is something you're serious about."

Rayna nodded, agreeing with Deacon. "Exactly, it's something you'll live with for the rest of your life, well until you get married and change your name again." Daphne giggled. "That won't be long she already has a boyfri-" Daphne started to blab. Rayna and Deacon look at Maddie who pushes Dahpne. "Do not!" Daphne looks up at her sister. "Then why did you tell Talia that you did?" Maddie gives her the evil eye. "Shut up."

"Girls, girls." Rayna interjects. Maddie sighs. "I want this more than anything." Rayna shrugs. "Alright but you have to understand this is not something that's going to happen overnight. We have to find a lawyer and fill out paperwork. It could be a long process."

"Then let's start now. I can look up lawyers on my phone right now!" Maddie pulled out her phone and started researching. "I cannot believe this is happening right now! I have to text Talia, Scarlett, Aunt Beth. I'm just going to send a message to everyone in my contacts." Rayna smiled up at Deacon who was also smiling.

"Mr. Claybourne, we are preparing to fly over the address." The pilot notifies them. Deacon, Rayna and the girls all looked out the windows. "Can we go see it?" Daphne asks. "Sure." Deacon assures her. "Tonight?" Daphne persists. Deacon shrugs looking over at Rayna. "Well that's up to your mama. It is a school night." Daphne crosses her arms. "But it's also Maddie's birthday eve."

Deacon laughs with a confused look on his face. "Birthday eve?" Daphne rolls her eyes. "The day before her birthday! Which means we should do whatever Maddie wants to do." She says smiling at Deacon. Rayna laughs, seeing her 10-year-old slowly winning Deacon over. "If it's not too late when we get back then we'll go see it." Rayna says. Both the girls smile.

The plane circles back to the Nashville airport private lot around eight. The girls jump off the plane with excitement. Rayna and Deacon lag behind. "You can get them to do just about anything you know that? Maybe you can convince them to eat their vegetables." Rayna laughs. "Well I know how hurt you were that they weren't exactly thrilled on the idea of moving so I took matters into my own hands." Rayna smirked. "And bribed them." Deacon shrugged. "I guess you could call it that. I just, I know Maddie worships Juliette so I thought spending her birthday eve with Juliette might score me some brownie points." Rayna giggled. "I see Daphne's vocabulary is rubbing off on you." Deacon laughed. "Shut up." He nudged her with his shoulder. "And Maddie's vocabulary too!" They both laughed.

"Come on you guys." Maddie shouts from across the lot. Deacon turns to Rayna. "You ready to see this place?" Rayna grabs his hands and smiles. "If it means a fresh start with you yeah I'm ready." He pulls her in close for a kiss. Rayna lifts her hand to his face, stroking his stubble. The ring on her finger catches her eye. "The next step is setting a date." He smiles. "The sooner the better. I've waited too long for this." "I agree. Soon I'll be yours and Maddie will have your last name. Daphne, well she goes along with anything. We'll have our own place. I can't wait!" "Me either Darlin'. Me either." She leans in for a kiss.

"Let's go!" Daphne yells. Rayna and Deacon pull apart as they walk hand-in-hand over to Deacon's truck. They all climb in and drive to the address of the house for sale.

"This place is awesome!" Daphne says looking around. "Do I have my own room?" Maddie asks walking through the house. Deacon shakes his head. "Well there are four bedrooms but I was thinking of making one of those rooms a music room." Maddie frowned. Daphne put her hands on her hips. "Looks like you're stuck with me!" She taunted. Maddie rolled her eyes.

"You know this place comes with a finished attic which means-" Maddie gasped. "I'd have my own floor?" Deacon's smile widened as Maddie ran up to him and hugged him. "Thank you! I will take it! Let's buy it now!" Daphne jumped up. "Yes! I have my own room again!" Maddie smiled. "Come on let's go upstairs and see my room!" Maddie exclaims to Daphne, pulling her little sister upstairs.

Deacon looks over at Rayna who is looking around. "What do you think?" He asks. "I love it! It's got that nice and cozy feeling." Deacon wrapped his arms around her waist. "It could get a lot cozier in here ya know." He snuggles his head into the crook of her neck, kissing it. She giggles. "Mmm. I like where this is going already." Deacon plays with her hands. "So you think we should buy it?" Rayna nods playfully. "Absolutely babe." She cups his face in her hands. Her lips meet his. "I love you!"

Later that night, they head home. After putting the girls to bed, Rayna lays on her side facing Deacon. "Thank you for everything you did tonight." Deacon plays with her hair. "I'm just glad I pulled off this surprise. Bucky and the girls warned me about surprising you." Rayna smiles. "Well they don't know me like you do." Deacon leaned in for a kiss. "In that case, expect a lot more surprises in our future because the look on your face tonight was worth it."

Rayna laughed. "I think the girls were surprised too, especially Maddie. Juliette, the jet, the house, the name change, I think you made this a birthday she'll always remember." Deacon sighed. "I might have another surprise for her up my sleeve." Rayna smirked. "Babe, you're going to spoil us all rotten." Deacon lifted his head off the pillow. "What's wrong with that?" She shook her head and laughed. "Nothing. We love it."

"This is my first birthday with her as her dad. I want it to be perfect. I just hope she doesn't think I'm trying too hard." Rayna rested her head and hand on his chest and stroked it. "She looks up to you. She wants to be just like you. She called you dad tonight!" Deacon's face lit up. "That was my surprise of the night." Rayna snuggles in closer to him. "She loves you, both the girls do." Deacon grabs her hand, wrapping his fingers around hers. "I just want to make them and their mama happy. And if that means planning all these surprises just to see the look on their faces, I'd do it a million times."

"I remember going a bit overboard on decorations and presents for Maddie's first birthday because I wanted everything to be perfect. It was my baby's first milestone! This birthday is your first milestone together, so I understand where you're coming from." He nodded. "Good because I was thinking if it's okay with you, I would take you all to dinner tomorrow night at The Bluebird and maybe pull a few strings to have her sing like she mentioned the other day." Rayna kissed his chest. "She is going to love it!" "Think she'll be surprised?" Deacon asked stroking her hair. "Yeah."

Rayna lifted her head from Deacon's chest to face him. "You know I have a few surprises of my own." She said playfully. "Is that right?" He asked playfully back to her. She nodded her head before rolling on top of him and straddling him.

The next morning Deacon was downstairs cooking breakfast and packing the girls lunches. Daphne sat on the kitchen stool, waiting patiently. The front door opened and soon Teddy appeared in the kitchen. "Daddy!" Daphne jumped off the stool and ran over to her father. "Hey Sweetheart! It's so good to see you! Where's the birthday girl?" Daphne jumped back up on the stool. "She's upstairs with mom."

"You want to go grab her? I brought her favorite breakfast." Daphne grinned. "Deacon's famous pancakes?" Deacon smiled. "You girls love my pancakes don't you?" Daphne giggled. "They're the best! Almost as good as Grandma Jean's." Deacon laughed.

Teddy cleared his throat bring the attention back to him. He shook his head. "No cinnamon buns. Maddie loves cinnamon buns. Would you please tell her I'm here?" Daphne jumped back off the stool. "Alright I'll go get her." Teddy smiled. "Thank you Pumpkin."

Daphne disappeared upstairs, leaving Teddy and Deacon in the kitchen alone. "I understand you're engaged." Deacon nodded. "Yeah about two weeks ago." Teddy nods. "Congratulations." Deacon nods. "Thank you."

"Now that I'm married to someone else I finally understand what it's like to be with the one you love. Not that I didn't love Rayna but you were always her first choice. I'm sure you knew that." Deacon shifts his weight, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. "I guess it's better that way for the girls, that both their parents are in a good relationship." Teddy smirked. "I'm glad we agree. In fact I couldn't agree more which is why there's no way in hell I'm letting my daughter change her name."

Deacon zipped up Daphne's lunch box then set it on the counter. "I think we should leave that up to Maddie don't you?" Teddy took a step closer to Deacon, making sure to get his point across without raising his voice. "She is a Conrad and you and Rayna are not going to change that." Deacon crossed his arms. "I don't know where you get off thinking she's a Conrad. We have the same mannerisms, the same interests, the same attitudes. She is a Claybourne." Teddy took another step closer and fiercely grabbed the collar of Deacon's shirt this time not carrying about his volume. "She is my daughter!" Teddy shouted.

Maddie started to head downstairs when she heard Teddy and Deacon arguing over her. She turned around and walked into Rayna's room. She ran into her mother's arms, crying. "Mom they're fighting. Make them stop please!"

So I thought I would add a little of the "feuding fathers" into the mix with this week's episode coming up! Hope you all enjoy!
