When they got back to the car, she turned to him. "Perry, I really don't know what was wrong with me this morning. I'm so sorry. That was the last thing you needed on top of what you're going through."

He handed her the device, and crossed his arms to point in to different directions. Then touched his locket.

"The boys made this and it somehow swapped my agenda with Doof's?"

We tipped his hand back and forth. Sort of.

"How did we get swapped though? We didn't even come into contact with each other until today."

He pointed to himself. The boys must've accidentally his me when they scanned themselves. The charge must have gotten locked into my fur somehow, maybe it's water based, and transfered it to the first two people to touch me that hadn't already been affected by the ray. Inevitably, you two.

"Nope, I don't think I got much of that, but as long as I'm back to normal now, let's head home."

He gave her the thumbs up. Now that it was over, it was a relief to see how mildly power hungry Annie'd been when saddled with Doof's life long quest for power.

He still didn't know what she planned on doing with those parts, though.

She caught the look he was giving them. "I contacted my second dimension counterpart, and told her what was going on. She was more than willing to look over those scraps via video feed, and she told me which parts I'd need."

For what?

She fell silent until she pulled into her driveway, and led the way to the backyard.

The boys were sitting under the tree when they walked into the yard. "Look who found me."

"Oh, there you are Perry! Where was he this time, Annie?"

"He came over to my house for a bit. Did you boys have a fun day?"

"Of course!"

"Have some time and creativity left?"

"Sure!"

Annie?

"Alright, then, would you be willing to help me with a complicated problem? A coworker started having some trouble a few weeks ago when his inventor, um, friend, was toying with these. Any chance you boys would be able to make him a ray that would reverse the affect these had on him?"

Phineas took it. "Hmm… shouldn't take long. Come on over to the garage."

She looked down at Perry. As much as he didn't want to involve the boys in any of this, he had to admit that it was probably their best bet, short of going all the way to the 2nd dimension.

The boys made short work of it, despite the fact that Annie did little more than hold the pieces they told her to.

"There. Take this to your co-worker, and see if it works for him. Ferb added few other settings that it will reverse, too, just in case his scientist friend has any more trouble."

Ferb chose that unnerving moment to pat him, but his attention suddenly focused on Annie. She couldn't very well leave with the device and the pet platypus she'd just brought back. Realizing the flaw in her plan, she waved goodbye, and went home.

It was nighttime before he could sneak away, but the moment the ray him, all the feelings of distrust left him, and he could only assume the nightmares would be gone, too. He saluted his thanks, then ducked through the pet door to finally go home for a good night's sleep.

He hadn't made it halfway across the yard when his watch beeped. He groaned, and activated it. "Agent P, we're going to need you to fill in for a few of our agents. As you probably know, most of them are away at Agent-con, so this might well be an all-nighter. Good luck, Agent P!"
